:00:00. > :00:00.-- fellowship. That is it from me. Stay with us on

:00:00. > :00:17.Good evening. There's been an arson attack on a

:00:18. > :00:20.church in County Antrim. Intruders broke into Whiteabbey Methodist

:00:21. > :00:23.Church and started a fire around 11:00pm last night. Claire Savage

:00:24. > :00:26.reports. According to members of the

:00:27. > :00:30.congregation, arsonist smashed glass in the front door of the church and

:00:31. > :00:34.climbed through. They made their way into a new part of the building and

:00:35. > :00:37.tried to start three fires. The kitchen in the extension was gutted,

:00:38. > :00:43.but fire crews were able to stop the blaze from spreading. The front door

:00:44. > :00:50.was smashed. I would say it is young people. They were out for a night

:00:51. > :00:58.trying to cause some excitement. The whole church could have caught fire.

:00:59. > :01:04.It is old. There are wooden pews. If it had not been caught, it could

:01:05. > :01:07.have burned to the ground. A special service for children could not take

:01:08. > :01:10.place because of the fire and instead, the Presbyterian Church

:01:11. > :01:15.allowed the congregation to use their halls. Police say the exact

:01:16. > :01:18.cause of the fire has still to be established and want anyone who may

:01:19. > :01:24.have witnessed something to contact them.

:01:25. > :01:27.Two motorbike racers remain critically ill in hospital after

:01:28. > :01:31.crashing during the North West 200. English rider, Simon Andrews, who is

:01:32. > :01:36.29, came off close to the Metropole section of the circuit yesterday.

:01:37. > :01:38.He's being treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, along

:01:39. > :01:45.with French rider, Franck Petricola, who was hurt in a crash on Tuesday.

:01:46. > :01:49.The Church of Ireland Bishop of Cork has backed calls for civil marriage

:01:50. > :01:52.for same sex couples. Dr Paul Colton's intervention was welcomed

:01:53. > :01:54.by a church group which held a service this afternoon to mark

:01:55. > :02:02.'International Day against Homophobia'.

:02:03. > :02:07.We agree with what he said and we are delighted to hear it said so

:02:08. > :02:11.publicly and openly. He has a track record of having being sympathetic

:02:12. > :02:15.to gays in the church and he has come out of very strongly in favour

:02:16. > :02:18.of the church having some input into gay partnerships and gay marriages,

:02:19. > :02:23.equal marriage who prefer to call it.

:02:24. > :02:28.In sport, the first game of this year's GAA Ulster Championship has

:02:29. > :02:32.gone to a replay. Tyrone had to rely on captain, Sean Cavanagh to save

:02:33. > :02:34.them with a last-gasp free. A strong second half performance from Down

:02:35. > :02:38.saw them overturn a seven-point deficit with goals from Donal O'Hare

:02:39. > :02:45.and Conor Maginn to go into the closing minutes two points ahead.

:02:46. > :02:48.Tyrone dominated the game for a considerable period but had to call

:02:49. > :02:56.on Sean Cavanagh to save it with two frees, the second coming at the end

:02:57. > :03:01.of added time. The changes they made at half-time

:03:02. > :03:05.gave them a bit of control around the middle of the field they did not

:03:06. > :03:13.have in the first half. Their substitutions worked well. It is not

:03:14. > :03:18.good for us to be seven up and lose it as much as that. We're very lucky

:03:19. > :03:22.to be in this game. When the goal went in, it you were fearing the

:03:23. > :03:29.worst of the fact they showed character and got the goal back

:03:30. > :03:37.straightaway. It puts a bit of doubt into their head. Now a look ahead to

:03:38. > :03:41.a series of special reports on BBC Newsline this week. Have you ever

:03:42. > :03:44.considered what it would be like to be homeless? Our reporter, Andy

:03:45. > :03:48.West, has spent four nights living on the streets of Belfast to find

:03:49. > :03:51.out what life's like when you've hit rock bottom. What help is there and

:03:52. > :03:58.how do people react to you? I have just had a girl get very aggressive

:03:59. > :04:02.and was asking me if I was foreign. And then started trying to kick me

:04:03. > :04:08.in the face with her stiletto. You can see the first of Andy's reports

:04:09. > :04:17.on Tuesday here on BBC Newsline. Now the weather.

:04:18. > :04:23.It ended up a dismal Sunday for parts of Northern Ireland. Hopefully

:04:24. > :04:26.as we go through the rest of the week it won't be as dismal. But

:04:27. > :04:32.there will be showers around and they could be heavy. Equally, dry

:04:33. > :04:37.and bright spells and during the course of the week it could feel

:04:38. > :04:41.warm. Tonight, the spells of rain which pushed east will be returning

:04:42. > :04:49.west as we go through the night. A damp night but not cold, with

:04:50. > :04:52.temperatures no lower than six or seven degrees. Eventually tomorrow I

:04:53. > :04:55.think we will see something that are developing. Turning drier as we had

:04:56. > :05:02.through the day. But it is a dismal start. Spells of rain in the West.

:05:03. > :05:07.They will clear but showery rain to follow in the morning. It is similar

:05:08. > :05:11.for the Republic of Ireland. A lot of cloud with outbreaks of rain. A

:05:12. > :05:16.few of those in the far south-west. But for the rest of Britain it is

:05:17. > :05:23.looking like a decent day. Perhaps a bit more cloud than today. Again it

:05:24. > :05:28.is very warm. Temperatures of 24, maybe 25 degrees towards the

:05:29. > :05:32.south-east. For Northern Ireland things do improve in the afternoon.

:05:33. > :05:35.It should be drier and I think it will be brighter for a time in the

:05:36. > :05:41.at the noon. We should see temperatures may be 15 or 16 degrees

:05:42. > :05:45.before showers creep into the evening. Through the middle part of

:05:46. > :05:50.the week, it is a mess. Low pressure to the south-west dominating things

:05:51. > :05:55.with showers swinging around. The uncertainty is when and where they

:05:56. > :06:00.will show up. It looks like Tuesday in parts of Northern Ireland and

:06:01. > :06:04.Scotland may be not too bad. Elsewhere across the southern half

:06:05. > :06:09.of Britain it does look showery. Into Wednesday, a mixture of bright

:06:10. > :06:13.spells and showers, may be more persistent rain in the North and

:06:14. > :06:17.thundery showers moving into the south. On Thursday but Northern

:06:18. > :06:22.Ireland, hopefully bright and sunny spells but showers never too far

:06:23. > :06:24.away. Our next wallet and is at 6:25am.

:06:25. > :06:31.Until then you can keep up today with local news on radio Ulster or

:06:32. > :06:32.online. But from us tonight,
