:00:09. > :00:12.The eight-year-old boy who died in a slurry tank accident in

:00:13. > :00:15.County Antrim yesterday afternoon was Robert Christie. His father

:00:23. > :00:29.Our North-East Reporter David Maxwell has been to the scene.

:00:30. > :00:33.Today, the farm where eight-year-old Robert Christie died fell silent.

:00:34. > :00:36.The young boy came here with his dad, who was helping out

:00:37. > :00:41.Exactly what happened is unclear, but it's understood

:00:42. > :00:44.while mixing slurry, both of them were overcome by

:00:45. > :00:50.The two were discovered by a postman, who raised the alarm.

:00:51. > :00:53.Emergency services were quickly on the scene.

:00:54. > :01:02.But it was too late for the young boy, who was airlifted to hospital.

:01:03. > :01:10.The community is still coming to terms with the tragic events

:01:11. > :01:12.which unfolded on this farm this afternoon.

:01:13. > :01:15.It's yet another sobering reminder of the many hazards encountered by

:01:16. > :01:31.It is a reminder to us all that we don't know what a day is going to

:01:32. > :01:32.bring. Here are a family and a community that have been plunged

:01:33. > :01:36.into indescribable sorrow, and our thoughts and prayers are

:01:37. > :01:39.with the family, who are well known in this community, and it is another

:01:40. > :01:43.reminder to us all just how quickly The Christie family regularly

:01:44. > :01:46.attend this church. This morning,

:01:47. > :01:48.they were remembered in prayer. Along with his two sisters,

:01:49. > :01:51.Robert also went to the Sunday school at this church, just yards

:01:52. > :01:59.from the farm where he died. they are on our minds very much this

:02:00. > :02:15.morning. We are just beside where it happened. I would

:02:16. > :02:18.like to express our sympathy and condolences to the family,

:02:19. > :02:22.This afternoon, staff met at the primary school

:02:23. > :02:24.where the eight-year-old was in the P4-P5 class.

:02:25. > :02:26.The principal says everything possible will be done to help

:02:27. > :02:31.What he didn't know about farming wasn't worth knowing.

:02:32. > :02:34.He would frequently tell me about things he had done at the

:02:35. > :02:38.weekend or what he was going to do. His loss will have a huge impact.

:02:39. > :02:41.I would say that there is a very close family spirit here

:02:42. > :02:46.The Health and Safety Executive are investigating this incident -

:02:47. > :02:49.the latest in a long line of farming tragedies.

:02:50. > :02:52.A 38-year-old man has been charged in connection with dissident

:02:53. > :02:55.He's accused of directing a terrorist

:02:56. > :03:01.organisation and membership of a proscribed organisation.

:03:02. > :03:04.The Catholic Archbishop of Dublin has said the truth must come out

:03:05. > :03:07.about the mother-and-baby home in County Galway and homes elsewhere.

:03:08. > :03:11.Dr Diarmuid Martin was speaking on reports of a mass grave of infants

:03:12. > :03:16.and children found in the grounds of a convent run by nuns in Tuam.

:03:17. > :03:18.There is no point only investigating what happened at Tuam

:03:19. > :03:22.and then next year finding more, we have to look at the whole

:03:23. > :03:31.They are talking about medical experiments there.

:03:32. > :03:35.we have to look at the question of adoption.

:03:36. > :03:38.They are complicated and sensitive issues but the only way we will come

:03:39. > :03:44.out of this particular period of our history is when the truth comes out.

:03:45. > :03:53.A number of Antrim residents have had to leave their home tonight

:03:54. > :03:54.because of flash flooding. Several homes around Ballymena are believed

:03:55. > :03:56.to be in -- affected. The Ulster Council

:03:57. > :03:59.of the GAA are investigating a mass brawl before this afternoon's senior

:04:00. > :04:01.championship match between Armagh The fighting, involving

:04:02. > :04:05.the majority of both sets of players, began as they were about to

:04:06. > :04:09.line up for the pre-match parade. In the match itself,

:04:10. > :04:14.Armagh won by one goal and 12 points The local boat taking part

:04:15. > :04:18.in the Clipper Round-the-World Yacht Race has left New York,

:04:19. > :04:21.en route for Northern Ireland. The Derry-Londonderry-Doire yacht is

:04:22. > :04:23.one of 12 taking part During its stop in New York,

:04:24. > :04:27.the yacht welcomed potential investors to promote business in

:04:28. > :04:30.Derry and across Northern Ireland. It'll arrive

:04:31. > :04:43.on the Foyle later this month I've been trying to prepare the guys

:04:44. > :04:50.for the welcome there. In the last race, the Derry stopover was one of

:04:51. > :04:54.the biggest and best by all reports, and that was before the people of

:04:55. > :04:59.Derry-Londonderry knew what it was about, what to expect, so I think

:05:00. > :05:02.this time the welcome will be bigger and better.

:05:03. > :05:03.Coming up on tomorrow's BBC Newsline:

:05:04. > :05:06.As a booming property market in London and the south east

:05:07. > :05:09.of England brings an interest rate rise ever closer, what will

:05:10. > :05:20.London and the south-east may be able to cope with eight 2% or 3%

:05:21. > :05:26.bank rate. Can an area like Northern Ireland, which is just in the early

:05:27. > :05:35.stages of recovery, deal with that in the same way? The question -- the

:05:36. > :05:41.answer is no. Here is the weather. Things are looking quieter tonight.

:05:42. > :05:45.Most of the heavy showers are moving away north so are fairly mild night.

:05:46. > :05:50.A little mist and cloud around tomorrow morning, otherwise it will

:05:51. > :05:54.brighten nicely. There will be some showers but not as many or heavy as

:05:55. > :06:01.today. Many places get away with a dry warning -- morning. It will get

:06:02. > :06:05.cloudier as the day goes on but most showers will be across western

:06:06. > :06:10.areas, drifting up from western island with fine weather in the

:06:11. > :06:14.East. Some showers over central and southern areas of Britain with

:06:15. > :06:19.temperatures towards London reaching mid 20s but elsewhere the high

:06:20. > :06:23.teens. Compared to today there will be more dry weather and most showers

:06:24. > :06:27.will be in the far West with a small risk of a thunderstorm and many

:06:28. > :06:32.places in the East will be dry with sunshine and feel warm. We expect

:06:33. > :06:37.the downpours to return on Monday night into Judy. Most of the week

:06:38. > :06:42.will be warm and there is a question over rain on whether state, I will

:06:43. > :06:47.come back to you on that. Heavy rain moves away on shoes date to the

:06:48. > :06:50.north of Scotland. Some downpours but also pleasant spells of

:06:51. > :06:57.sunshine, not as hot in the south-east. On Wednesday this rain

:06:58. > :07:04.dressed up into southern Ireland. Most places will be dry with

:07:05. > :07:08.sunshine. On Thursday we will find most of the rain comes on Wednesday

:07:09. > :07:14.night and then added clears away there will be sunshine with just the

:07:15. > :07:17.odd shower. We may find that the worst of the downpours of this week

:07:18. > :07:21.are on Monday night into Tuesday and the rain may come on Wednesday

:07:22. > :07:26.night, leaving a lot of the daytime fairly dry and temperatures mostly

:07:27. > :07:32.staying above average. Have a great night. That's the local news for

:07:33. > :07:33.now. Our next bulletin
