:00:00. > :00:00.we are back with the late news at Ten o'clock - now on BBC1, it's

:00:07. > :00:10.A woman whose car was hijacked by a masked gang in west Belfast has

:00:11. > :00:14.It happened around teatime yesterday in Poleglass.

:00:15. > :00:29.She's still too scared to show face a day after her ordeal. She does not

:00:30. > :00:33.want the gangster recogniser. The hijacking happened on this busy road

:00:34. > :00:38.in Poleglass at around 6:30pm yesterday. The woman was on her way

:00:39. > :00:42.to help her family. The woman's son had been in hospital recently and

:00:43. > :00:47.she was on a way to see him to bring him medicine. When she appeared here

:00:48. > :00:50.on this road she slowed down and the gang appeared. a fellow just

:00:51. > :00:56.appeared the car and opened the door. He shouted at me to get out

:00:57. > :01:02.and he had something in his hand which looked like a knife. So I

:01:03. > :01:08.panicked and got out. I fell, I don't know how. There were two other

:01:09. > :01:16.men behind him. don't know how. There were two other

:01:17. > :01:19.car shortly after it was hijacked. She said she could not understand

:01:20. > :01:27.why somebody would take a car just burn it. why would you do that? I've

:01:28. > :01:32.heard people get in their cars stolen before they find it crashed,

:01:33. > :01:36.but that was almost immediately after. The woman said the police

:01:37. > :01:38.were in contact by phone was she was standing at the side of the road

:01:39. > :01:45.waiting for help. She said she feared the gang would return as she

:01:46. > :01:45.waited. Eventually, her son made his way there

:01:46. > :01:51.Talks on the past, parades and flags involving all the main parties are

:01:52. > :01:55.Last year the American diplomat Richard Haass chaired talks on

:01:56. > :02:00.the same issues which ended without agreement at the end of December.

:02:01. > :02:02.Speaking on Sunday Politics, the DUP?s Gregory Campbell said

:02:03. > :02:08.there are some issues that need to be resolved before moving forward,

:02:09. > :02:17.while Sinn Fein's Gerry Kelly said the discussions were long overdue.

:02:18. > :02:27.we have been supposedly having these talks for some time. It is quite a

:02:28. > :02:31.long time, nearly six months. We should've had these talks before

:02:32. > :02:43.now, we have not. I think there is an opportunity there. You still have

:02:44. > :02:48.to remember that these things need doing. All the issues are known, we

:02:49. > :02:54.need negotiations and we need to make progress because everybody is

:02:55. > :03:00.looking to us to do that. However much people want to deny it, it was

:03:01. > :03:04.a bolt from the blue. It is one of those issues that comes up now and

:03:05. > :03:07.then which reveals what particularly Republicans were doing behind the

:03:08. > :03:11.backs of people. Nobody knows about it, then suddenly there was an

:03:12. > :03:14.announcement and if you people say everyone should have known about

:03:15. > :03:25.it. Let us get that issue cleared before we start to talk about what

:03:26. > :03:34.we do about the past. The Clipper yachts have left Londonderry. A

:03:35. > :03:38.spectacular fireworks display made sure the legendary maritime festival

:03:39. > :03:43.ended with a bang last night. Huge clouds that like crowds gathered

:03:44. > :03:47.last night watch celebrations which included a fiery battle between two

:03:48. > :03:51.pirate ships. It was a fitting sendoff to the Clipper around the

:03:52. > :03:55.world yacht race fleet, around 270 crew from the 12 international teams

:03:56. > :04:00.cast off from the marina at this afternoon. They make their way to

:04:01. > :04:07.the race. It will take an eight and the race. It will take an eight and

:04:08. > :04:11.a mile route up towards Scotland and down into the North Sea. The boats

:04:12. > :04:16.will arrive in Holland between the second and the 4th of July.

:04:17. > :04:19.A look ahead now to a special report we'll have on BBC Newsline tomorrow.

:04:20. > :04:22.As the marching season gets underway, research shows there are

:04:23. > :04:25.more parades and marching bands than at any time in our history.

:04:26. > :04:27.While the number of contentious parades is small,

:04:28. > :04:31.negative perceptions persist about bands and their members.

:04:32. > :04:34.We've been talking to members of a band in west Belfast

:04:35. > :04:43.about why they join and how those images can be changed.

:04:44. > :04:52.I have been in this band 31 years in September. Nobody in this band has

:04:53. > :04:57.ever been jailed while with the band. I'm angry that people say we

:04:58. > :04:58.folks and loyalist paramilitaries. We are not.

:04:59. > :05:01.That story across BBC News Northern Ireland tomorrow, starting with

:05:02. > :05:04.Good Morning Ulster at 8 o'clock and on BBC Newsline here on BBC One

:05:05. > :05:30.Perfect conditions for seeing of the Clipper fleet today. As if that

:05:31. > :05:35.wasn't enough, they were treated to a display by the red arrows in a

:05:36. > :05:39.beautiful blue sky. So, sunshine to end the day on the north coast. The

:05:40. > :05:42.cloud elsewhere will break up and there will be some fine weather this

:05:43. > :05:48.evening. But, like last night, it will turn chilly quite quickly. In

:05:49. > :05:52.the countryside it could get up to five or 6 degrees. A fresh start to

:05:53. > :05:56.a new week, and not a bad week. A fine day for the end of June, warm

:05:57. > :06:00.sunshine to begin July. There is a threat of rain towards the end of

:06:01. > :06:04.the week, but until then, it looks pretty decent. Monday morning begins

:06:05. > :06:08.a try and bright if not sunny in many areas, with light breezes. It

:06:09. > :06:20.will warm up fairly quickly towards the end of the morning and a good

:06:21. > :06:22.part of the day will stay dry. There is a small chance one or two showers

:06:23. > :06:25.breaking out and perhaps one or two across the Republic of Ireland also.

:06:26. > :06:29.One or two showers for South East England which could affect Wimbledon

:06:30. > :06:30.One or two showers for South East mass. Were expecting ties and 90,

:06:31. > :06:45.possibly 20 degrees mass. Were expecting ties and 90,

:06:46. > :06:47.higher. On Tuesday we will... But for most of the weather will stay

:06:48. > :06:50.fine. The breeze picks up on Wednesday, brings some cloud and the

:06:51. > :06:55.risk of some rain by Thursday. Our next BBC Newsline bulletin is

:06:56. > :06:57.at 10.15 this evening. Until then, you can keep up to date

:06:58. > :07:00.with local news on BBC Radio Ulster
