:00:00. > :00:00.A reminder of the main story, Rolf Harris is beginning a

:00:00. > :00:16.Good evening, the headlines on BBC Newsline.

:00:17. > :00:18.The DUP says loyalist paramilitaries have pledged that protests against

:00:19. > :00:22.a decision to stop an Orange Order parade in Ardoyne will not end in

:00:23. > :00:40.Unionism will have no part in unlawful behaviour. Two leading

:00:41. > :00:43.Republicans are to stand trial on charges of IRA membership following

:00:44. > :00:47.the murder of drop McCartney. Garth Brooks fans are left in limbo

:00:48. > :00:51.after the star says its five gigs or none at all, as the row over

:00:52. > :00:54.his Dublin concerts rumbles on. If they do not go ahead, I do not

:00:55. > :00:58.know what we will do. A former bank employee is sentenced

:00:59. > :01:00.for stealing thousands And most of us will catch a downpour

:01:01. > :01:06.at some stage during the weekend. With the Twelfth just days away

:01:07. > :01:17.and street protests planned, the DUP say loyalist paramilitaries have

:01:18. > :01:22.promised not to resort to violence. The protest is against the

:01:23. > :01:26.Parades Commission's decision to bar an Orange Orange parade

:01:27. > :01:28.from passing the Ardoyne shop fronts A joint statement condemning

:01:29. > :01:33.the decision was issued yesterday by the mainstream unionists and

:01:34. > :01:36.parties linked to the UVF and UDA. Our political correspondent

:01:37. > :01:57.Martina Purdy reports. The DUP is says it does not want a

:01:58. > :02:02.repeat of scenes like these from North Belfast during their Twelfth

:02:03. > :02:06.last year and has insisted that those with influence amongst

:02:07. > :02:10.loyalist paramilitaries have made a commitment to nonviolence. The party

:02:11. > :02:17.says violence is in the interests of no one. We can only seek to use our

:02:18. > :02:20.influence. We are not in a position to direct people or order them into

:02:21. > :02:24.what they should do. We rely on others to use their influence and I

:02:25. > :02:28.believe and take at face value the commitments that have been given. It

:02:29. > :02:33.turns out that people do engage in violence, they have to answer for

:02:34. > :02:40.that and we will hold them to account. We want to bind people into

:02:41. > :02:45.a clear statement which makes clear that violence and unlawfulness can

:02:46. > :02:49.be no part in what we are seeking to achieve. Any commitment is welcome

:02:50. > :02:55.according to the Chief Constable. I want people of influence across the

:02:56. > :02:58.society and that community level to be exercising what ever influence

:02:59. > :03:02.they can to make sure we do not end up dealing with disorder and

:03:03. > :03:08.violence on the streets. If that is the case, that is to be welcomed.

:03:09. > :03:12.The welcome came with a warning against any protest that involves

:03:13. > :03:25.blocking roads. It is unlawful, we will arrest people, we will secure

:03:26. > :03:27.evidence and prosecute them and get criminal records. It is simple. It

:03:28. > :03:30.may involve clearing the road by force if that is the sensible thing

:03:31. > :03:33.to do. Be not mistaken, if people break the law, we will do our best

:03:34. > :03:36.to collect evidence and prosecute them. Unionist politicians who

:03:37. > :03:39.walked out of talks yesterday over the parading decision are in

:03:40. > :03:46.negative mode according to the Sinn Fein leader. We should not minimise

:03:47. > :03:50.the potential, but neither should we exaggerate the fact that this is

:03:51. > :03:56.localised. There will be more people at an all Ireland final band will be

:03:57. > :04:02.engaged in this contentious behaviour. I do not think the pulse

:04:03. > :04:08.of Unionist grassroots opinion outside of the Orange and that

:04:09. > :04:17.Coalition of political Unionism, once peace, or once calm, once

:04:18. > :04:22.tolerance and respect. Orange Order announced it had met with loyalist

:04:23. > :04:31.leaders endorsing their stance over the decision and appealing for

:04:32. > :04:36.protests to be peaceful and lawful. Earlier I spoke to Mark Devenport. I

:04:37. > :04:40.asked if we were clearer about what form the Unionist protest action

:04:41. > :04:44.would take. Not really, they are playing their cards close to their

:04:45. > :04:48.chest. They said to me today that the fact that they were not at this

:04:49. > :04:52.meeting in Dublin was not part of the graduated response, but was

:04:53. > :04:58.merely because they were busy in meetings about what the response

:04:59. > :05:02.should be in Belfast. Definitely, we do not know whether Unionist

:05:03. > :05:06.ministers will attend the executive meeting on Tuesday. They are still

:05:07. > :05:10.not answering that question. We have still to see what action the protest

:05:11. > :05:16.action will take. The statement is clear on the need to keep things

:05:17. > :05:21.peaceful. The one point which is emphasised in the joint statement

:05:22. > :05:25.after the Unionist met the Orange Order is that they want any protest

:05:26. > :05:29.to be lawful and peaceful. The Grand Master says violence will not help

:05:30. > :05:35.our cause and play into the hands of our enemies. How important is the

:05:36. > :05:40.apparent commitment from loyalist paramilitaries? It is a case of them

:05:41. > :05:44.being judged on their actions rather than their words. It is helpful in

:05:45. > :05:47.terms of the police looking at that and anyone who wants to keep people

:05:48. > :05:51.safe on the streets that they should have made that statement but we know

:05:52. > :05:58.how volatile the situations can be and the question will be whether

:05:59. > :06:01.they can deliver on that. Two leading Republicans are to stand

:06:02. > :06:06.trial on charges of IRA membership following the murder of Robert

:06:07. > :06:11.McCartney. He was stabbed and beaten after a fight in a Belfast bar in

:06:12. > :06:15.January, at 2005. The case against the men is based on evidence from

:06:16. > :06:24.two of Robert McCartney's sisters. The two men before the court are one

:06:25. > :06:25.from The two men before the court are one

:06:26. > :06:31.County Armagh. They are accused The two men before the court are one

:06:32. > :06:36.IRA membership will stop during the hearing, evidence was heard from

:06:37. > :06:39.Paul Arnold and Katherine Macmillan me. The sisters told the court that

:06:40. > :06:45.following the death of their brother, they were invited to

:06:46. > :06:48.meetings with the IRA. They say that Wilson and Hughes were at the

:06:49. > :06:51.meeting and they say that the men told them they were from the IRA

:06:52. > :06:54.Army Council and had the authority to speak for the Army Council. The

:06:55. > :06:55.Army Council and had the authority hearing heard of the second meeting

:06:56. > :07:02.with the same men at a church hearing heard of the second meeting

:07:03. > :07:07.Ardoyne. At this meeting, Wilson said that if he had his way he would

:07:08. > :07:10.like to see those responsible for killing their brother get a bullet

:07:11. > :07:20.in their head. The district judge ordered the case to go to court for

:07:21. > :07:26.trial. Still to come... Rising from the flames, Carrickfergus sailing

:07:27. > :07:30.club reopens after being destroyed in a fire. What was worse was coming

:07:31. > :07:32.down on Saturday morning to see all the destruction and I thought we

:07:33. > :07:39.would never get this back together. It was five,

:07:40. > :07:41.then it went to three... Now Garth Brooks says he'll play

:07:42. > :07:45.none of his Croke Park gigs if all Yesterday,

:07:46. > :07:48.Dublin City Council refused licenses for two of the concerts because

:07:49. > :07:50.of disruption to residents. But now those that live

:07:51. > :07:53.near the venue say the 337 who objected are in a minority and are

:07:54. > :08:09.staging a protest this weekend. It is a decision which is thrown

:08:10. > :08:13.400,000 guard Brooks fans into turmoil after a 17 year wait to see

:08:14. > :08:17.their idol take to the stage at Croke Park, the stadium may not be

:08:18. > :08:21.filled with the sound of country music. It follows a decision by the

:08:22. > :08:26.City Council the two of the five concerts planned for the end of this

:08:27. > :08:29.month will not go ahead. It said it had taken into consideration the

:08:30. > :08:37.views of local residents, but those who live close say they had not been

:08:38. > :08:40.fully consulted and are campaigning for the shows to go on. There are

:08:41. > :08:44.more than 300 people who objected. There are more people living in this

:08:45. > :08:49.area. They have come out, they are coming out on Sunday for a peaceful

:08:50. > :08:54.meeting and we want people to support the concerts. There are

:08:55. > :09:01.children who depend on as many kinks as possible to go ahead. It is the

:09:02. > :09:06.only job they have. Young kids cannot get jobs anywhere else. The

:09:07. > :09:10.City Council says it will not be making U-turns. It is a mess and the

:09:11. > :09:15.whole thing was a tobacco. It was wrongly handled from the start by

:09:16. > :09:22.the promoters and the GAA. They did not engage with the local residents

:09:23. > :09:27.and Croke Park is in the middle of a residential area of which I am from

:09:28. > :09:31.myself. The singer has waded into the row and made a statement and he

:09:32. > :09:35.said he would have faith that the City Council would make the best

:09:36. > :09:42.decision for the people of Ireland. He added that it was all five shows

:09:43. > :09:46.or none at all, saying which -- picking 1's not to do would be like

:09:47. > :09:51.choosing a child over another. Fans hope they will not pull the plug. I

:09:52. > :09:55.think it is terrible. People have got tickets for presence, they have

:09:56. > :10:00.booked hotels, looking forward to it, I say bring it to Belfast. I

:10:01. > :10:05.know the bull who would have camped out queueing for tickets, so you can

:10:06. > :10:10.imagine there and I is -- people. I do not think it is fair on people

:10:11. > :10:17.that if they have bought tickets, what will they do? Will they refund

:10:18. > :10:20.the money? The promoters says it followed the proper procedures and

:10:21. > :10:25.they are disappointed by the decision. People will never forget

:10:26. > :10:31.this show. That takes five shows to get that right. Now we are saying he

:10:32. > :10:37.can only do three. He does not want to disappoint the people who bought

:10:38. > :10:44.tickets. I think it is up in the air. The uncertainty has spread to

:10:45. > :10:48.government. The Taoiseach hope something can be worked out to allow

:10:49. > :10:50.the concerts to go ahead. The promoter is locked in talks and will

:10:51. > :10:58.not be commenting further until the start of next week. We will keep you

:10:59. > :11:02.across any developments on the concerts.

:11:03. > :11:05.A 51 year-old woman who stole over a hundred thousand pounds

:11:06. > :11:07.from 68 customers while working at the Northern Bank has been spared

:11:08. > :11:11.The court was told the former bank service manager managed to carry out

:11:12. > :11:14.the fraud by pilfering money from accounts which hadn't been used

:11:15. > :11:22.Dan Stanton reports from Belfast Crown Court.

:11:23. > :11:27.The judge said her shame was genuine and sincere, but after being told

:11:28. > :11:33.she had been spared a custodial sentence, the former employee hid

:11:34. > :11:40.her face from the cameras as she walked away from the court. Linda

:11:41. > :11:44.Allison from Castlereagh stole ?104,000 from 68 customers of the

:11:45. > :11:50.Northern Bank while she worked here. She took that money in a period of

:11:51. > :11:56.two years in small and large amounts. The deception started in

:11:57. > :12:02.October, 2007 when ?120 was taken from an account. The last amount

:12:03. > :12:11.removed from another account was 16,000 -- was over ?60,000. The last

:12:12. > :12:16.amount she was able to take was ?500 in November, 2009 -- ?16,000. The

:12:17. > :12:20.court heard she was able to carry out the fraud by activating accounts

:12:21. > :12:25.which had not been used for a number of years. Those accounts were from

:12:26. > :12:29.customers who were either dead, in ill health or had forgotten they

:12:30. > :12:33.have the money. The judge said he was suspending her jail sentence due

:12:34. > :12:37.to her guilty plea, her previously clean record, the fact that she had

:12:38. > :12:45.signed away her pension to pay for the money she owes and the impact

:12:46. > :12:48.that a jail sentence would have on her nine-year-old son.

:12:49. > :12:51.Let's look at some of today's other news now and shots were fired at two

:12:52. > :12:55.cars in Clough in County Down early this morning - in what the police

:12:56. > :12:58.It happened in Claragh Court at around 3 o'clock.

:12:59. > :13:01.The cars' windscreens were damaged but no one was injured.

:13:02. > :13:04.An Orange Hall on the outskirts of Lisburn has had republican

:13:05. > :13:08.The Orange Order say Castlerobin Hall has been attacked several

:13:09. > :13:12.It's been condemned by Sinn Fein who appealed for anyone with

:13:13. > :13:25.The Belfast-born businesswoman who founded the Space NK cosmetics chain

:13:26. > :13:28.has been awarded an honorary degree by the University of Ulster.

:13:29. > :13:31.Nicky Kinnaird's Space NK business now has 85 shops across the UK,

:13:32. > :13:47.She formed the company in 1993 in London after growing up and going

:13:48. > :13:54.Coming up... Still to come. We meet the woman who is helping to lead

:13:55. > :13:55.County Armagh to glory this weekend as well as chasing a gold medal in

:13:56. > :13:58.Glasgow. Two years ago the hub of sailing

:13:59. > :14:00.in Carrickfergus took a serious blow when the town's

:14:01. > :14:03.sailing club was burned down. Now, the finishes touches are being

:14:04. > :14:23.put in place ahead It was in June, 2012 but a fire took

:14:24. > :14:28.hold at this club. Firefighters fought the blaze for hours but were

:14:29. > :14:32.unable to save the building. It has been rebuilt and brought back to its

:14:33. > :14:36.former glory, ready to open officially tomorrow. These children

:14:37. > :14:40.who are learning how to sail at the bit in the new facilities through

:14:41. > :14:46.their paces. They seem to have enjoyed themselves stop the

:14:47. > :14:50.facilities will be very good for both the older members and the big

:14:51. > :14:57.driving force towards bringing more junior Zen. It is user-friendly. It

:14:58. > :15:03.is fun to sail -- bringing more juniors in. It was fun. Despite

:15:04. > :15:08.being burned down, the juniors in. It was fun. Despite

:15:09. > :15:13.to remain open and it missed just one race. It was partly thanks to

:15:14. > :15:17.into a temporary club while the new into a temporary club while the new

:15:18. > :15:22.one was being built. It was a struggle, but again, we were able to

:15:23. > :15:29.keep it going through the strength of our membership and we were able

:15:30. > :15:30.to run two major sailing events. The opening ceremony takes place at 3pm

:15:31. > :15:35.on Saturday. Actors will go

:15:36. > :15:38.a long way to get into their roles, but you could say the ones working

:15:39. > :15:42.on a new movie in county Antrim have They've been on a strict diet to

:15:43. > :15:46.make them look suitably gaunt, and one has even stopped washing to

:15:47. > :15:48.be totally authentic. Our arts correspondent Maggie

:15:49. > :16:05.Taggart has been talking to them. The movie being shot is not Game of

:16:06. > :16:14.thrones. The film being shot here it is locally originated and it is

:16:15. > :16:17.about the end of society. Would land the state has been taken over by

:16:18. > :16:24.film-makers about -- for a movie about survival. They have built a

:16:25. > :16:27.cap on here and they have planted a healthy looking vegetable garden. It

:16:28. > :16:30.is the story of a man who sees the end of society coming and those to

:16:31. > :16:37.live in a cabin in the woods, growing his own food will stop the

:16:38. > :16:41.director has been nurtured and encouraged by Northern Ireland

:16:42. > :16:45.Screen. He has come home to take advantage of new opportunities. The

:16:46. > :16:49.main role is taken by a local man who had to learn about growing his

:16:50. > :16:56.own food and cutting down his calorie intake. It is good, it has

:16:57. > :17:00.been difficult. I have been preparing for it since February. I

:17:01. > :17:04.think he is a brilliant director. You would need to be dedicated to a

:17:05. > :17:10.role to avoid showers and shampoo, but that is the sacrifice this woman

:17:11. > :17:16.made. I was camping outside, I had not watched. I think it is the first

:17:17. > :17:18.time I have taken that. I realise the more that you do that, the less

:17:19. > :17:24.you have to do on camera. It was three wins out of four

:17:25. > :17:27.for our local football clubs in last night's Europa League first

:17:28. > :17:29.round qualifying matches. Mark Sidebottom is here

:17:30. > :17:33.with this evening's sport. Linfield will have a 2-1 lead

:17:34. > :17:36.against Torshavn of the Faroes going into Tuesday's second leg,

:17:37. > :17:38.Glenavon came unsctuk in Iceland Derry City pingeg four past

:17:39. > :17:42.aberystwyth and Crusaders beat Ekranas of Lithuania three-one to

:17:43. > :18:09.record a first win in Europe 20-year-old Stephen cap craft had a

:18:10. > :18:11.debut to remember, scoring in his first competitive performance in a

:18:12. > :18:19.crusader shared with the opening goal of the night. I could not wish

:18:20. > :18:23.for a better debut. I was unfit condition to play in Europe. I

:18:24. > :18:28.thought I did very well. I gambled on the goal. You have to gamble. The

:18:29. > :18:36.second came from a gamble which did not pay off for the goalkeeper. It

:18:37. > :18:45.was 3-0 when the captain headed home the rebound after a shot was

:18:46. > :18:50.parried. They give themselves some hope with a goal in the 88

:18:51. > :18:54.parried. They give themselves some to leave the tide poised at

:18:55. > :19:01.parried. They give themselves some Crusaders. Derry City had a four -

:19:02. > :19:05.nil win over Aberystwyth. The Welsh side keeper was sent off for

:19:06. > :19:16.bringing down Rory Paterson. He scored the resulting penalty. The

:19:17. > :19:20.third came early in the second half. Barry McNamee wrapped up a

:19:21. > :19:20.convincing victory. They are virtually assured of a place in the

:19:21. > :19:28.next round. She captains her county,

:19:29. > :19:30.she plays centre for her country and practices hospital medicine while

:19:31. > :19:33.studying for a masters in anatomy. That pretty much guarantees that

:19:34. > :19:35.everyday in the life of Caroline BBC Newsline met up with

:19:36. > :19:40.the elite sportswoman for a morning gym session ahead of Sundays Ulster

:19:41. > :19:59.ladies football final. Early morning and another day in the

:20:00. > :20:03.life of international netball Caroline. The Commonwealth Games for

:20:04. > :20:08.Northern Ireland are few weeks away and the provincial football final is

:20:09. > :20:14.a few days away. How are you managing to combined the Gaelic

:20:15. > :20:16.football at, the netball and the medicine? It has been difficult.

:20:17. > :20:21.This is the first time we have been at the Commonwealth Games. The

:20:22. > :20:40.netball season usually finishes in April but it has run on and clashed

:20:41. > :20:41.with the Championship. It is a brilliant opportunity and it is

:20:42. > :20:42.where you want to be. She is incredibly fit and strong. I hate to

:20:43. > :20:43.compare males to females, but she could compete with most men. Lifting

:20:44. > :20:52.is phenomenal. She produces al of power. -- a lot of power. Female

:20:53. > :20:57.sport does not get the same publicity as men's. It is a big step

:20:58. > :21:02.for ladies football. The publicity this will in juice is great and we

:21:03. > :21:08.are delighted. If we get a result, that would be great -- induce. A top

:21:09. > :21:15.five finish at the Commonwealth Games is the objective. For Sunday,

:21:16. > :21:20.it is win or bust. We wish her all the best.

:21:21. > :21:23.It's also Armagh and Monaghan in the mens match on Sunday

:21:24. > :21:26.Antrim/Limerick in the football qualifiers is also

:21:27. > :21:46.Now it is time for the weather. It has been getting better. Do not take

:21:47. > :21:52.that as news for the weekend. It looks unsettled. There will be

:21:53. > :21:57.bright or sunny spells, but an increasing frequency of showers

:21:58. > :22:04.developing through the course of the weekend. Some of those locally could

:22:05. > :22:10.be happy. With light to moderate winds, some could be slow-moving.

:22:11. > :22:12.The we did have that wet start this morning, as you can see from the

:22:13. > :22:16.satellite and radar, but morning, as you can see from the

:22:17. > :22:17.are starting to clear and we are getting sunshine, particularly in

:22:18. > :22:27.western counties, but the east getting sunshine, particularly in

:22:28. > :22:27.brighten up and that is the best part of the

:22:28. > :22:31.brighten up and that is the best apart from the odd shower towards

:22:32. > :22:35.the north and west, most places will stay dry and it is fresher than last
