:00:13. > :00:14.The DUP and Sinn Fein are sharply divided

:00:15. > :00:17.over unionist demands for an inquiry into parading in North Belfast.

:00:18. > :00:18.Martin McGuinness dismissed the idea as one-sided nonsense

:00:19. > :00:21.while Peter Robinson said Unionists just wanted a fair result.

:00:22. > :00:23.Representatives of the unionist parties met the

:00:24. > :00:25.Secretary of State at Stormont this afternoon to discuss the issue.

:00:26. > :00:34.Our political correspondent Martina Purdy reports.

:00:35. > :00:37.Summer, 2013 and loyalists vent their anger over a ban on an Orange

:00:38. > :00:41.march returning past the Ardoyne shops in north Belfast.

:00:42. > :00:55.The real reason the Parades the restriction, having previously

:00:56. > :00:56.The real reason the Parades Commission made its decision,

:00:57. > :00:59.loyalists claimed. They united this month to demand

:01:00. > :01:11.an inquiry into the issue. The fact that the Parades Commission

:01:12. > :01:14.has called for a structured process to bring people together is worth

:01:15. > :01:18.considering. Before I make -- I a decision I would need to discuss

:01:19. > :01:21.it with people. The SDLP has warned any such

:01:22. > :01:31.inqiury would be a mistake. effectively second-guessing what

:01:32. > :01:36.the Parades Commission has decided I think that is tantamount to

:01:37. > :01:38.undermining the the standing Sinn Fein's Martin McGuinness had

:01:39. > :01:47.his own message for the Secretary of State,

:01:48. > :01:49.claiming that what was proposed The situation at Ardoyne is not

:01:50. > :02:00.going to be resolved by them cobbling together an agreement for

:02:01. > :02:03.an enquiry with two reasonable years That's not the way this process

:02:04. > :02:12.will move forward successfully. Let's be very clear,

:02:13. > :02:15.we want to get cross-party support It doesn't fully work

:02:16. > :02:20.unless there is. There is no reason to set up

:02:21. > :02:23.a commission only to talk to Let's be very clear, this is wrong,

:02:24. > :02:27.if the deputy minister thinks it is We want to have a fair outcome

:02:28. > :02:35.on Ardoyne, we're not looking Plans to transform Armagh's historic

:02:36. > :02:43.jail into a luxury hotel could be in serious doubt because

:02:44. > :02:46.of a row over funding. The developer is threatening to

:02:47. > :02:49.withdraw 11 million pounds from the project unless Stormont

:02:50. > :02:53.commits more money. Our business correspondent

:02:54. > :03:00.Julian O'Neill has the story. Armagh Jail has waited seven years

:03:01. > :03:02.for the serious work The plan involves a hotel,

:03:03. > :03:08.housing and a new public space. Almost half will come

:03:09. > :03:14.from a private developer. But the rest - from public funds -

:03:15. > :03:17.is a problem, with indications that this will kill

:03:18. > :03:33.this project in its present size. A shortfall in public funding could

:03:34. > :03:37.well kill this project in its present guys and the ripple of fact

:03:38. > :03:39.would undermine our bid to secure 2 million pounds

:03:40. > :03:47.the Heritage Lottery Fund and see the private developer walk away.

:03:48. > :03:54.It would be a disaster for Armagh unless a solution is found.

:03:55. > :03:56.The developer has increased his contribution to 11 million.

:03:57. > :04:00.Armagh Council has pledged two million.

:04:01. > :04:03.The Heritage Lottery Fund has earmarked the same amount, but only

:04:04. > :04:09.And that's the issue because between them, Stormont departments

:04:10. > :04:13.have promised six million, leaving a shortfall of four.

:04:14. > :04:16.The developer - who is based in Bath - has written

:04:17. > :04:24.to Armagh Council warning he will pull out in September.

:04:25. > :04:31.from this is unless a solution is found. The council has not abandoned

:04:32. > :04:39.all hope that the project can still go ahead, but a letter to the Office

:04:40. > :04:44.of the First and Deputy First Ministers has not been answered

:04:45. > :04:47.One of the main roads in South Belfast is to be closed

:04:48. > :04:49.for weeks, while engineers carry out emergency repair work.

:04:50. > :04:51.They've discovered a number of holes, which they're describing

:04:52. > :04:54.as voids, under the surface of the Ravenhill Road.

:04:55. > :04:55.There are concerns that the road could collapse.

:05:08. > :05:15.The sixty-year-old from Bracknell, faces five charges

:05:16. > :05:18.of indecent assault against two young girls in the 1970s.

:05:24. > :05:31.for is 60-year-old John Brown denies all five charges of indecent assault

:05:32. > :05:37.against young girls aged as young as five. It has also been alleged that

:05:38. > :05:43.his sister, Dana Rosemary Scallon knew about the alleged assault for

:05:44. > :05:47.more than 30 years. The prosecution asked the jury to use their common

:05:48. > :05:53.sense and accused John Brown and Dana Rosemary Scallon of a cover-up.

:05:54. > :05:58.She claimed it was suspicious that the defendants knew exactly what

:05:59. > :06:00.they were doing on particular dates at particular times. Be careful, she

:06:01. > :06:06.told the jury, is this a at particular times. Be careful, she

:06:07. > :06:10.defendants knowing their story and sticking to it? Giving evidence

:06:11. > :06:15.yesterday, Dana Rosemary Scallon said she had known nothing about the

:06:16. > :06:20.alleged assaults. Speaking for the defence, the barrister asked the

:06:21. > :06:25.jury to be dispassionate, detached and analytical. He said the case for

:06:26. > :06:29.the defence was slick and precise and then went on to accuse one of

:06:30. > :06:35.the crucial prosecution witnesses of wriggling like game I get on a hook

:06:36. > :06:41.every time evidence was questioned. He said that John Brown had not

:06:42. > :06:41.wriggled once. The judge will begin summing up the evidence

:07:03. > :07:04.a glimpse of the unusual visitor in the River Foyle.

:07:05. > :07:06.Since the mammal, affectionately nicknamed Flipper was

:07:07. > :07:14.first spotted on Sunday, it has been the talk of the town.

:07:15. > :07:16.You can see the crowd that was out here today

:07:17. > :07:28.We are craving for a zoo around Strabane!

:07:29. > :07:30.The joy at the sighting of the dolphin or porpoise took

:07:31. > :07:34.Local people feared the worst as there seemed to be no movement

:07:35. > :07:41.I came down yesterday with the wee ones to see the dolphin

:07:42. > :07:46.We decided to come down this morning to show my husband and we

:08:27. > :08:36.Tomorrow could be warmer, today temperatures peaked at 26 degrees.

:08:37. > :08:41.It is likely that tomorrow we will see high temperatures. There will be

:08:48. > :08:53.a warm and muggy night, one or two showers around, it might start off

:08:58. > :09:01.start bright and sunny from the word go. A risk of showers in the West

:09:02. > :09:08.but they will be localised and most places will have a dry and warm day.
