:01:00. > :01:04.There's plenty of dry and bright weather

:01:05. > :01:07.in the forecast for Tuesday, but some chilly nights are on the way.

:01:08. > :01:16.I'll have the weather details shortly.

:01:17. > :01:24.John McCourt from Antrim did what a lot of amateur photographers do

:01:25. > :01:26.in bad weather - he searched out a dramatic landscape

:01:27. > :01:30.Instead, his trip to Fanad Head in Donegal ended in tragedy

:01:31. > :01:34.Tributes were paid to him today from fellow camera club members.

:01:35. > :01:36.He'd belonged to the club for the past five years.

:01:37. > :01:51.Our reporter Teresa Craig has been to Donegal.

:01:52. > :01:59.Fanad Head, a place famed for its natural beauty. Yesterday, John

:02:00. > :02:03.McCourt fell from rocks after he lost his footing taking photographs.

:02:04. > :02:11.He became trapped in a gully at the bottom of the cliffs. An emergency

:02:12. > :02:15.call was put into the Coast Guard. Weather conditions yesterday were

:02:16. > :02:22.stormy, making it difficult for those involved. I climbed over the

:02:23. > :02:27.rock is. It was like a washing machine in there. Big swells coming

:02:28. > :02:33.in. It was difficult to spot the casualty because of the foam. He was

:02:34. > :02:38.going under the water and bobbed back up again. Attempts were made to

:02:39. > :02:41.going under the water and bobbed revive the 59-year-old when he was

:02:42. > :02:46.pulled out of the sea, but he died after being airlifted to Letterkenny

:02:47. > :02:52.General Hospital. Those who knew him were paying tribute today.

:02:53. > :02:58.Absolutely shocked. I could not believe that this had happened to

:02:59. > :03:07.one of our club members. You hear these accidents do happen, but to

:03:08. > :03:14.happen so close to home... Not my experience. So far this year, the

:03:15. > :03:18.lifeboat has dealt with 22 call-outs, and there is clear advice

:03:19. > :03:23.for visitors. When they are going out to get these dramatic shots of

:03:24. > :03:30.bad weather at the head lamps, look after yourself. Be very, very

:03:31. > :03:37.cautious when you're dealing with this see in particular during storms

:03:38. > :03:41.because it does not have much mercy. As people are advised to be aware of

:03:42. > :03:45.their surroundings when visiting the area, some say the beauty of its

:03:46. > :03:46.their surroundings when visiting the rugged coastline is at odds with

:03:47. > :03:53.this recent tragedy. The funeral has taken place

:03:54. > :03:56.of the rally driver who was killed in a crash while taking part

:03:57. > :03:58.in the Ulster Rally in 20-year-old Timothy Cathcart,

:03:59. > :04:01.from Enniskillen, died after his car left the road

:04:02. > :04:08.and crashed near Fivemiletown. The Irish Government says it will be

:04:09. > :04:09.monitoring its new abortion laws amidst

:04:10. > :04:12.accusations they are deeply flawed. It follows confirmation that

:04:13. > :04:14.a vulnerable young foreign woman, reportedly a rape victim,

:04:15. > :04:16.had a request for an abortion The woman subsequently had her

:04:17. > :04:20.baby by caesarean section. The director of the Family Planning

:04:21. > :04:22.Association in Northern Ireland described the situation

:04:23. > :04:30.as unbelievable and barbaric. Audrey Simspon says it highlights

:04:31. > :04:33.the consequences of poor legislation and that the Department of Justice

:04:34. > :04:48.here needs to take heed. We don't want the same situation to

:04:49. > :04:51.be repeated in the North of Ireland. If we are going to have

:04:52. > :04:56.legislation, we needed to be well thought through, that will meet the

:04:57. > :05:00.needs of the woman and we can make prompt decisions and don't have to

:05:01. > :05:04.wait for 16 weeks, the way this woman seems to have to have had

:05:05. > :05:04.weight. But pro-life campaigners say the

:05:05. > :05:07.case is a chilling and disturbing reminder of the cruel and inhumane

:05:08. > :05:09.reality of legalised abortion. Our Dublin correspondent

:05:10. > :05:11.Shane Harrison joins us now. Shane, what more can you tell us

:05:12. > :05:20.about the case in the Republic? The immigrant women presented

:05:21. > :05:27.herself saying she was a bit of rape was suicidal and wanted an abortion.

:05:28. > :05:33.Under the new laws in the Republic, the credible threat of suicide is

:05:34. > :05:41.grounds for termination, but not a case of rape, incest or if there is

:05:42. > :05:46.at the toll in -- fatal abnormality. They ruled she could not have an

:05:47. > :05:50.abortion, but the Caesarean section because the baby was viable. When

:05:51. > :05:55.she was told this she immediately went on hunger and thirst strike.

:05:56. > :05:59.The authorities had to go to court to get an order to give her fluids.

:06:00. > :06:05.She then decided she would have a Caesarean section at 25 weeks. She

:06:06. > :06:10.could not go to Britain to get an abortion because of her legal status

:06:11. > :06:14.in Ireland. The baby is in hospital, where it will probably be for

:06:15. > :06:20.several more months, then it will be placed in care. What reaction has

:06:21. > :06:26.been to this question mark the woman first asked for an abortion at

:06:27. > :06:31.around eight weeks. At this stage, and are reporting restrictions, it

:06:32. > :06:36.is unclear at what time the medical panel got involved and if there was

:06:37. > :06:40.an undue delay in getting from eight weeks to the Caesarean section

:06:41. > :06:48.happening at 25 weeks. Campaigners say this is another example --

:06:49. > :06:54.pro-choice campaigners say this is another example of a vulnerable

:06:55. > :06:57.woman having her rights trampled on. On the other hand, pro-life

:06:58. > :07:04.campaigners say they are delighted that the mother and baby survived.

:07:05. > :07:06.They opposed the abortion legislation saying that the

:07:07. > :07:13.termination is never a treatment for suicidal feelings. They say the

:07:14. > :07:16.mother and the unborn have equal rights to life.

:07:17. > :07:19.A war memorial in Glenavy in County Antrim has been daubed with

:07:20. > :07:22.It's the latest in a series of sectarian attacks

:07:23. > :07:24.on war memorials and Catholic churches carried out in the area,

:07:25. > :07:27.and in nearby Stoneyford, just outside Lisburn, over the weekend.

:07:28. > :07:29.Both Unionist and Nationalist politicians have criticised those

:07:30. > :07:30.behind what appeared to be tit-for-tat incidents.

:07:31. > :07:46.They've said they would work to diffuse tensions in the area.

:07:47. > :07:48.A US company is creating almost 100 new jobs in Belfast,

:07:49. > :07:51.with the major expansion of a local business it bought a year ago.

:07:52. > :07:53.Proofpoint specialises in security for company computer systems.

:07:54. > :07:56.The new jobs will pay wages above the Northern Ireland average.

:07:57. > :08:05.Here's our business correspondent Julian O'Neill.

:08:06. > :08:12.Proofpoint is a global company and its operation in Belfast will expand

:08:13. > :08:17.significantly with the addition of 94 jobs. It works in computer

:08:18. > :08:22.technology, providing information storage and security for our long

:08:23. > :08:27.list of giant companies. Proofpoint is a company listed on the US stock

:08:28. > :08:30.exchange with its headquarters in California. It has had a presence

:08:31. > :08:35.here in Belfast for just over a year when it acquired a locally owned

:08:36. > :08:40.technology company. The new jobs will be created over a period of two

:08:41. > :08:43.years and is part of its growth its offices are switching from the

:08:44. > :08:49.science Park in East Belfast here to read first court boost to the city

:08:50. > :08:54.centre. The company attended the International investment conference

:08:55. > :08:57.here last Robert. By then it had bought a local start-up firm

:08:58. > :09:02.specialising in e-mail security. The next step was getting it to increase

:09:03. > :09:09.its work force. It was relatively easy and that they had acquired this

:09:10. > :09:12.local company so had knowledge of the capability in Northern Ireland.

:09:13. > :09:19.It was difficult and that's it was hard to get them to commit to almost

:09:20. > :09:22.100 people being recruited and employed here. Information

:09:23. > :09:27.technology is a specialist field and a new recruits can expect their pay

:09:28. > :09:33.packet well above the local average. Our average salary is ?30,000. We

:09:34. > :09:37.are looking for people with technical degrees, tactical

:09:38. > :09:42.experience. We are confident we can find the talent here. This is an

:09:43. > :09:48.expansion project worth ?6 million. One tenth of it is being funded by

:09:49. > :09:51.invest NI vetoed the enlarged presence of Proofpoint could help

:09:52. > :10:06.attract more of this kind of inward investment.

:10:19. > :10:23.The sound of success - how it feels to be crowned the best

:10:24. > :10:28.For the past four months, a community centre has come under

:10:29. > :10:31.Today, residents held a rally in support of staff

:10:32. > :10:34.from the Dunanney Community Centre and called for the attacks to end.

:10:35. > :10:37.Part of the centre was damaged in a fire

:10:38. > :10:39.and last week it was petrol-bombed and daubed in graffiti.

:10:40. > :10:58.More than a month after a petrol bomb destroyed part of this centre,

:10:59. > :11:09.the windows are still boarded up, the walls are still caked in thick

:11:10. > :11:15.black suit. This is CT -- CCTV footage of an arson attack back in

:11:16. > :11:21.April. Later, paramilitary flags were put on the centre and last week

:11:22. > :11:28.sectarian graffiti. It is the impact it has on morale that is harder to

:11:29. > :11:32.quantify. People still come and do their day's work, but it is very

:11:33. > :11:37.difficult. You don't have to look very hard on the Rathcoole Estate

:11:38. > :11:40.define the paramilitary flags but local people say these attacks are

:11:41. > :11:46.not being carried out by any recognised organisation, but by a

:11:47. > :11:50.small group of people who want to create a climate of fear. Today,

:11:51. > :11:55.more than 100 people from the estate came here to say there were not

:11:56. > :11:59.afraid. This was an idea by the people. They asked us to run

:12:00. > :12:07.something like this so dated stand with us. One of the people speaking

:12:08. > :12:09.at the rally said that Irish language lessons were being given at

:12:10. > :12:13.the centre. language lessons were being given at

:12:14. > :12:17.the attacks question mark there are all sorts of rumours. None of them

:12:18. > :12:23.are true. An Irish language classes and being run at the centre. This is

:12:24. > :12:28.a centre for the whole community. Police investigations are ongoing.

:12:46. > :12:59.A new tourism project has been unveiled on the River Lagan

:13:00. > :13:02.The centrepiece is an old barge, The Industry, which was once

:13:03. > :13:04.an important part of the industrial heritage of the Lagan.

:13:05. > :13:06.As Kevin Sharkey reports, the vessel was missing

:13:07. > :13:18.for years before being found on the River Shannon in the Republic.

:13:19. > :13:26.Returning to familiar waters, have vessels steeped in history, dating

:13:27. > :13:30.back to the late 1800s when the textile trade was strong here. This

:13:31. > :13:35.barge, The Industry, used to do the heavy lifting. When its working life

:13:36. > :13:42.came to an end it went across the border. It spent its years along the

:13:43. > :13:46.River Shannon. When it was discovered the barge was in a bad

:13:47. > :13:52.state and needed an make over. Then it was destined to come home to the

:13:53. > :13:59.River Lagan. The barge was once involved in the thriving linen

:14:00. > :14:06.industry in Belfast. It will soon be involved in another industry,

:14:07. > :14:18.tourism. The vessel was tracked down by this man. It would have brought

:14:19. > :14:28.the linen product from Belfast. It is an integral part of our waterway

:14:29. > :14:38.heritage. Stormont and Castlereagh Council will invest ?800,000 in the

:14:39. > :14:45.project will. We hope that this will be opened up, and people can get on

:14:46. > :14:54.the boat in Belfast and travel all the way to the River Shannon. It is

:14:55. > :14:55.hoped the first tourist will board the barge before the end of this

:14:56. > :15:00.year. We'll be checking out the verdict

:15:01. > :15:13.on Rory's new look. As far as champions go, the Field

:15:14. > :15:16.Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band from Lisburn are the best in the world -

:15:17. > :15:19.and are probably the most successful As Claire Savage explains,

:15:20. > :15:42.they have now picked up World champions for 2014, Field

:15:43. > :15:47.Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band. On top of the world. Well, you would be if

:15:48. > :15:58.he had been crowned the best night and in the world ever. Ten times

:15:59. > :16:00.world pipe and champions. The Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band has

:16:01. > :16:05.once again defended its title for the fourth year in a row. I think

:16:06. > :16:12.the competition is getting closer and closer every year. The bands

:16:13. > :16:16.today were tremendous. The standard at the moment is very high and to

:16:17. > :16:23.win it for years in a row is a great feat. So, just how do you become

:16:24. > :16:28.world champions ten times question mark a lot of people think it is

:16:29. > :16:31.easy to lift the setup pipes or a drum and compete. It is not like

:16:32. > :16:39.that. You have to pack this really hard at home and tea and good

:16:40. > :16:45.standard. At 17, Scott is the youngest band member. My dad was a

:16:46. > :16:49.piper. When I was old enough he taught me the basics. I started

:16:50. > :16:58.going to the band with him and it went from there. The drum majors

:16:59. > :17:04.also dominated this year's championships, claiming 15 of the

:17:05. > :17:08.teen available prizes. The culture minister is among those who have

:17:09. > :17:10.congratulated the band on another successful win. I have a feeling it

:17:11. > :17:17.is unlikely to be their last. It's normally Rory McIlroy's golf

:17:18. > :17:19.which hits the headlines, but The Holywood golfer wore

:17:20. > :17:23.a three-piece checked suit as he paraded his Open trophy

:17:24. > :17:25.at Old Trafford. BBC Newsline's Mark Simpson

:17:26. > :17:44.has been sampling opinion. A striking new look, or our fashion

:17:45. > :17:50.golden goal question mark at the weekends the BBC commented to give

:17:51. > :17:54.his verdict. Rory McIlroy has proper Claret Jug with him to Old Trafford

:17:55. > :18:02.today, as well as the suitable -- formally warned by Ted Rovers in

:18:03. > :18:07.Heidi hi. Rory McIlroy was not even born when this was on TV. He is a

:18:08. > :18:12.modern-day sporting superstar and wanting to dress to impress his par

:18:13. > :18:18.for the course. His latest outfit impressed this local Belfast Taylor.

:18:19. > :18:23.It is best oak. His measurements have been taken, he has picked the

:18:24. > :18:27.cloth and either a factory or somebody personally has made it for

:18:28. > :18:33.him. The jacket was right, the way it was cuffed around the waist, it

:18:34. > :18:38.was right. It didn't suit him. He obviously love it. What does he care

:18:39. > :18:44.what anybody else thinks question mark there is no harm in asking what

:18:45. > :18:49.other people think. I like it. It makes them stand by it, but not in a

:18:50. > :18:54.good way. I wouldn't want my boyfriend wearing that. Whatever

:18:55. > :19:00.floats his boat. It is different. I like it. These visitors are from

:19:01. > :19:07.Manchester, where his new suit a complete with red Sox need as

:19:08. > :19:18.appearance. UDC some strange people in Manchester. He looks silly. Yes,

:19:19. > :19:23.he does. With the red Sox on! He is a local hero, you can say that! I

:19:24. > :19:30.don't know who he is. Never heard of him! When it comes to fame and

:19:31. > :19:35.fashion, you can't please everyone, but you can try. With the suits,

:19:36. > :19:38.well, I think they are catching on. He's the greatest golfer - not

:19:39. > :19:41.too sure about the suit, though! Thomas Niblock is here with

:19:42. > :19:43.the sport. No, but this man would probably

:19:44. > :19:54.look pretty good in it! But Ulster supporters will have to

:19:55. > :19:56.wait a while before seeing The South African won't be back

:19:57. > :20:00.in Belfast until 5th October. That means he'll miss

:20:01. > :20:02.the opening five Pro 12 games. The good news is, he's in pretty

:20:03. > :20:05.decent form at the minute. The Springboks defeated Argentina

:20:06. > :20:07.over the weekend in the Rugby Championship, with Pienaar scoring

:20:08. > :20:21.a try in the very first minute. It was a disappointing end to

:20:22. > :20:24.the most successful World Cup ever Ireland finished the tournament

:20:25. > :20:28.in fourth place after losing to The defeat in Paris was a cruel end

:20:29. > :20:53.to the tournament for the Irish, who Motorcycling

:20:54. > :20:55.and Bruce Anesty won twice at the Ulster grand Prix over the weekend,

:20:56. > :20:58.but the sport is counting the cost. Although stabalized, French rider

:20:59. > :21:02.Pierre Favre remains in a critical condition having sustained spinal

:21:06. > :21:10.and it's hoped Dany Webb, Dean Harrison,

:21:11. > :21:12.Dan Knee and Keith Amor will all be Niki Gregg reports on

:21:13. > :21:29.a day dominated by the conditions. The fine margins of this board were

:21:30. > :21:31.laid there. Red flags and recurring image of the day.

:21:32. > :21:36.laid there. Red flags and recurring conditions meant the world fastest

:21:37. > :21:41.boat race would not reach top speeds. Parts of the course were

:21:42. > :21:46.dry, other parts wet with pure visibility. Two of the seven races

:21:47. > :21:54.were cancelled. In those that did go ahead, the milieu names shared the

:21:55. > :21:59.spoils with newcomers. The super sport Grace was developing into a

:22:46. > :22:47.There were goals galore on the second weekend of the Irish League.

:22:48. > :22:49.Ballymena United maintained their impressive start to

:22:50. > :22:52.the campaign and now sit top of the Danske Bank Premiership,

:22:55. > :23:07.Stephen Garrett has a knack of scoring important goals for

:23:08. > :23:10.Cliftonville. Just when it looked like his side would have to make do

:23:11. > :23:19.with a draw, he popped up in injury time to seize back three with a

:23:20. > :23:28.composed finish. Ballymena were also 3-2 winners, defeating Portadown at

:23:29. > :23:34.home. They are annoyed top of the table. Playing against Portadown who

:23:35. > :23:40.have invested the summer as much as Glenn Aven, so we knew it was going

:23:41. > :23:45.to be a test. Thankfully, we were able to match them. If we had lost

:24:31. > :24:32.Finally, in the Airtricity League tonight, Derry City travel to

:24:33. > :24:34.Drogheda United- hoping to get back to winning ways.

:24:35. > :24:44.The game is live on BBC Radio Foyle from 7.30pm.

:24:45. > :24:50.Time for the weather. Here is a mild he could certainly carry off a

:24:51. > :24:53.cheque here is a mild he could certainly carry off a cheque if I

:24:54. > :24:56.had one, I would certainly be a cheque here is a mild he could

:24:57. > :24:59.certainly carry off a cheque here is a mild he could certainly carry off

:25:00. > :25:00.a cheque if I had one, I would certainly be wearing it. I really

:25:01. > :25:13.like that suits! Well, there is a touch of winter

:25:14. > :25:18.coming here in the next few days. Tonight will definitely be a night

:25:19. > :25:22.for some heating. There will be some showers tonight, but they should die

:25:23. > :25:26.away by tomorrow. Tomorrow will not be a bad day at all with decent

:25:27. > :25:30.amount of sunshine. It stays breezy and there will be a handful of

:25:31. > :25:37.showers, but they will be very well spaced out. Some of us will avoid

:25:38. > :25:42.them altogether. Towards the north coast, fresh with the northerly

:25:43. > :25:49.winds. Further south, 15 degrees or maybe 16 degrees. The temperatures

:25:50. > :25:52.across the board below average for the time of year. If you are

:25:53. > :25:58.travelling tomorrow, not a bad picture across Britain and Ireland.

:25:59. > :26:03.Strong winds from northern and eastern Scotland, but plenty of good

:26:04. > :26:07.spells of sunshine. For Northern Ireland, into the second part of the

:26:08. > :26:11.afternoon there will be a fair amount of showers piling in,

:26:12. > :26:19.especially for the West. Eastern areas will be better. Tomorrow

:26:20. > :26:26.night, it will turn cold again. Temperatures in towns and cities

:26:27. > :26:32.around 9 degrees, down to three or 4 degrees in the country. Plenty of

:26:33. > :26:37.dry weather on offer are part of the odd shower. Look at the

:26:38. > :26:44.temperatures, though. Down to 13 degrees, worried should we 17 eight

:26:45. > :26:49.teen at this time of year. Today, tomorrow and Wednesday, scattered

:26:50. > :26:52.showers. For Thursday, we are expecting more showers and spells of

:26:53. > :26:53.rain and it will be quite as unsettled for Friday. We will keep

:26:54. > :27:10.you updated. Tributes have been paid to John

:27:11. > :27:18.McCourt, an amateur photographer, who died after falling off cliffs

:27:19. > :27:22.and County Donegal. Proofpoint, which specialises in

:27:23. > :27:28.security for company computer systems, is creating almost 100 new

:27:29. > :27:29.jobs with a major expansion close to Belfast city centre.
