:00:08. > :00:10.A man has told the Historical Institutional Abuse

:00:11. > :00:13.Inquiry that he was physically and sexually abused as a young boy

:00:14. > :00:15.while in the care of the Presbyterian Church in Australia.

:00:16. > :00:17.He was an orphan sent abroad from Tyrone.

:00:18. > :00:20.Meanwhile, another child migrant, who was sent to Australia at

:00:21. > :00:43.the age of 10, has been telling his story to our reporter Helen Jones.

:00:44. > :00:52.I can recall lying on a horsehair mattress, looking up thinking, what

:00:53. > :00:57.do they ever do to deserve this cruel, harsh environment? Painful

:00:58. > :01:02.memories of what he describes as a robbed childhood in this really are.

:01:03. > :01:08.Part of the migration scheme, Tony was rounded up and shipped off. Just

:01:09. > :01:15.ten years old he arrived in Fremantle to a rude awakening. It

:01:16. > :01:22.has left us all with the scars of trauma, cruelty, intimidation,

:01:23. > :01:27.ridicule and put down. Equally, with the appalling ill-treatment and

:01:28. > :01:35.exploitation of children through hard labour and reversion that all

:01:36. > :01:39.was part of that appalling culture. He is revisiting his long lost

:01:40. > :01:44.family on his fathers side. He wasn't aware he had any family until

:01:45. > :01:50.2001. When he was four years old his mother put into care. She was

:01:51. > :01:56.unmarried. I can't recall my mother, to be honest. I can recall a

:01:57. > :02:02.lady with an orange bag. What hurts me more than ever is that my mother

:02:03. > :02:09.did go back looking for me and I had been moved on. Just imagine the

:02:10. > :02:13.heart rate for VAT woman. I never met her. The closest I got to her

:02:14. > :02:23.was her grave. That is the reality of what I have had to come to terms

:02:24. > :02:29.with. I mother died F56 traumatised by the fact she was denied access to

:02:30. > :02:37.her child. I feel robbed and deceit, as she would have felt. He told me

:02:38. > :02:37.he was hoping his mother was looking down on

:02:38. > :02:42.A Polish couple and their five children living in

:02:43. > :02:44.Moneymore in County Londonderry say they are being harassed out of their

:02:45. > :02:49.Last night a window was smashed when a piece of concrete was thrown

:02:50. > :03:04.This Polish family has been living in Moneymore for two years. They say

:03:05. > :03:09.that since June they have been the targets of 13 separate incidents of

:03:10. > :03:14.harassment. The worst was last night when a piece of concrete smashed

:03:15. > :03:17.their front window. Such is the fear felt by this family from Poland that

:03:18. > :03:23.they don't want to be identified, but they do want to be moved from

:03:24. > :03:30.this house in Moneymore. The Polish couple have five children. There are

:03:31. > :03:46.12-year-old daughter spoke for the family. We moved here to live in

:03:47. > :03:51.peace. Our children were born here. We never thought that anything bad

:03:52. > :03:54.would come to our family. We want to live in Northern Ireland, but not in

:03:55. > :03:59.Moneymore because we have had enough. Mum and dad are worrying

:04:00. > :04:09.about us. So you want out of here now? Yes. If we cute, we would move

:04:10. > :04:16.by tomorrow. It has been going on since June. I want to condemn this.

:04:17. > :04:19.It is totally unacceptable. The police are appealing for information

:04:20. > :04:20.about the attack last night on the family home, which is being treated

:04:21. > :04:22.as a hate crime. Two men charged with setting fire to

:04:23. > :04:26.a family's pet dog were today accused in court

:04:27. > :04:27.of repeatedly lying about their whereabouts on the morning

:04:28. > :04:30.of the incident in August 2012. The 23-year-olds are accused

:04:31. > :04:32.of causing unnecessary suffering to the Border collie, which had to be

:04:33. > :04:35.put down after it was attacked. You may find some of the pictures

:04:36. > :04:54.in her report disturbing. Jamie Downey from Moira, seen here

:04:55. > :05:00.on the left covering his face as he walked from court this afternoon. At

:05:01. > :05:04.the end of the proceedings today. Richard Stewart, from Wellington

:05:05. > :05:07.Park and the time, left the same building. At the start of the case

:05:08. > :05:12.today the judge warned the jury that they might find some of the details

:05:13. > :05:18.to stressing. This is Cody, the three-year-old collie owned by the

:05:19. > :05:24.act new family. On a Sunday morning two years ago they noticed she was

:05:25. > :05:27.missing. She arrived at the door one time aggregators suffering from

:05:28. > :05:34.severe burns. She had to be put to sleep. In the prosecution's opening

:05:35. > :05:38.statement the jury was told that the two accused had told lie after lie

:05:39. > :05:41.about their whereabouts on the Sunday morning and added that the

:05:42. > :05:46.pair had done the circuit of the village, either to walk off the

:05:47. > :05:50.effects of the party they were at the night before or to finish off

:05:51. > :05:54.alcohol they had with them. For whatever reason, they then decided

:05:55. > :05:59.to take a dog, poured flammable liquid on it and set it alight. Both

:06:00. > :06:03.men denied the charges. The trial is due to resume tomorrow.

:06:04. > :06:05.Northern Ireland's two biggest electricity suppliers say they will

:06:06. > :06:08.not raise household prices for the rest of 2014.

:06:09. > :06:10.The announcements came from Power NI and SSE Airtricity.

:06:11. > :06:12.The utility regulator said it was welcome news coming

:06:13. > :06:15.into the winter months, but warned of price uncertainty in the medium

:06:16. > :06:25.Visitors to Belfast Zoo got a shock when a baby giraffe was born

:06:26. > :06:29.The new arrival had been expected, though not quite so soon.

:06:30. > :06:43.Mother and baby together just minutes after the birth. It happened

:06:44. > :06:48.in full view of visitors to the zoo. They could not leave their eyes as

:06:49. > :06:51.the baby suddenly appeared. If you are squeamish you may want to look

:06:52. > :07:02.away because the actual moment of Earth was caught on video by Lurgan

:07:03. > :07:07.teenager Maria Armstrong. In all, the baby dropped five feet. If you

:07:08. > :07:15.watch the footage again and you can see it had a relatively soft

:07:16. > :07:21.landing. Within 30 minutes it was on its feet and meeting its family. The

:07:22. > :07:26.big question is, is it a boy or a girl? Foo zookeepers are not sure.

:07:27. > :07:31.Since the baby was born, they have been allowing it to bond with its

:07:32. > :07:37.mother and her their distance. They have come up with two names, one for

:07:38. > :07:43.a boy and one for a girl. The birth was on Monday. There were some

:07:44. > :07:47.concerns about the health of the giraffe, but nothing serious and he

:07:48. > :07:48.or she should be back in the public eye very

:07:49. > :07:53.Football now and the Republic have beaten Oman 2-0 in their final

:07:54. > :07:55.international friendly before the beginning of the Euro 2016 campaign.

:07:56. > :07:58.Oman didn't put the home team under too much pressure at the Aviva

:07:59. > :08:02.Kevin Doyle scored the first for Ireland with a well-taken header

:08:03. > :08:03.from Robbie Brady's perfectly delivered first-half corner-kick.

:08:04. > :08:06.It was another Brady corner in the 80th minute that gave Alex Pearce

:08:07. > :08:31.We have another fine and dry night to come. It will be mild for most of

:08:32. > :08:38.us, temperatures staying at ten or 11 degrees. Maybe added colour under

:08:39. > :08:44.any bricks on the cloud. Some missed or a fork will form, but that was

:08:45. > :08:50.left quickly tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will be much like today,

:08:51. > :08:53.with a fair amount of cloud around. There will be bright spells and some

:08:54. > :09:02.sunshine. It will be warm in the sunshine with light wind. A few

:09:03. > :09:08.packets of mist and fog as well, but again it will left early. A lot of

:09:09. > :09:13.settled weather all over Great Britain and Ireland tomorrow. There

:09:14. > :09:20.will be spells of sunshine to enjoy. Warm in the south-east of England at

:09:21. > :09:26.24 degrees. We are above average all over for the time of year. For

:09:27. > :09:27.Northern Ireland, over for the time of year. For

:09:28. > :09:32.Northern there will be a fair amount of cloud around. It will break up

:09:33. > :09:43.and we will see the sun from time to time. There is a slight risk of an

:09:44. > :09:47.isolated shower, but not a lot to worry about. Friday will be cloudy,

:09:48. > :09:51.with the week weather from coming south. There will be some light

:09:52. > :09:53.drizzle, but not much to worry about. For Saturday and Sunday, a

:09:54. > :09:56.lot of dry weather. You can keep up to date with
