:00:00. > :00:09.The First Minister and DUP leader Peter Robinson has

:00:10. > :00:12.announced a surprise reshuffle of the party's Stormont ministers.

:00:13. > :00:14.The Health Minister Edwin Poots, who has been under pressure

:00:15. > :00:17.from months, has been replaced by Jim Wells and Mervyn Storey will

:00:18. > :00:23.replace Nelson McCausland as Social Development Minister.

:00:24. > :00:31.Now you see them, is soon you will not. This afternoon, Edwin Poots and

:00:32. > :00:35.Nelson McCausland were on their feet in the assembly before taking the

:00:36. > :00:42.Long walk to Peter Robinson's office. Edwin Poots is replaced by

:00:43. > :00:49.Jim Wells as health minister. Nelson McCausland, by Reverend story. He

:00:50. > :00:53.impressed his chair of the Stormont education committee but must now

:00:54. > :01:00.deal with the toxic issue of welfare reform. I am under no illusion about

:01:01. > :01:07.the enormity of this challenge and I believe if people want to see

:01:08. > :01:11.improvement, there was to be agreement on this issue so we can

:01:12. > :01:15.move forward to be prosperous in a way that we have been to date. As

:01:16. > :01:20.Health Minister, Jim Wells has the hardest job of all and one that many

:01:21. > :01:25.believe he had been overlooked for. Did you think your chance had gone?

:01:26. > :01:30.I am not going to comment on that. I knew that Edwin would do a first

:01:31. > :01:33.rate job. I supported entirely and he has led the bedrock for dealing

:01:34. > :01:38.with health in difficult circumstances. Mild he replaces was

:01:39. > :01:43.controversial. Edwin Poots was accused of allowing his Christian

:01:44. > :01:46.views to cloud his judgement and was Quetta sized by the Lord Chief

:01:47. > :01:50.Justice for claiming he would not get a fair hearing in court over his

:01:51. > :01:55.band of gay men giving blood and recently claimed he would face the

:01:56. > :02:00.sack rather than make cuts. I have no intention of making these cuts so

:02:01. > :02:06.it goes back to the executive, that they need to add a step up to the

:02:07. > :02:09.plate. We potentially break the budget and they find another

:02:10. > :02:14.minister to do it or executive takes the decision that is going to

:02:15. > :02:19.implement these cuts. Nelson McCausland was equally

:02:20. > :02:22.controversial, found guilty by an assembly committee of deliberately

:02:23. > :02:26.misleading them over allegations in this BBC Spotlight programme of

:02:27. > :02:30.political interference in the running of the Housing Executive.

:02:31. > :02:36.But that is in the past and what now for the future leadership of Peter

:02:37. > :02:42.Robinson? I will continue to be here for as long as the party want me to

:02:43. > :02:47.be here. How long will it be? How can I tell how long I will live. I

:02:48. > :02:50.am here, eating three meals a day and happy in the job I am doing. I

:02:51. > :02:53.believe we are taking the right decisions for Northern Ireland but

:02:54. > :02:58.there are very difficult decisions that we have to take in relation to

:02:59. > :03:02.the future of the assembly, the future of devolution and our

:03:03. > :03:08.relationships within the UK, the spending that is available to us and

:03:09. > :03:12.I believe with my experience that I can to the party through those

:03:13. > :03:16.difficult times. Peter Robinson will help this puts an end to speculation

:03:17. > :03:23.about his own future either inside or outside the party and an early

:03:24. > :03:24.election may be coming, no time for uncertainty about where the DUP is

:03:25. > :03:29.going and he is taking it there. There will be more reaction to that

:03:30. > :03:31.surprise reshuffle on Stormont Today A nationalist residents group in

:03:32. > :03:36.North Belfast says it is angered by reports that the Secretary of State

:03:37. > :03:39.Theresa Villiers plans to establish a panel of enquiry to examine

:03:40. > :03:42.the Ardoyne parades dispute. The panel has been requested by the

:03:43. > :03:55.DUP after part of 12 July parade was We seem to have the British

:03:56. > :04:00.Secretary of State willing to set up a process that could potentially

:04:01. > :04:06.overrule at Parades Commission decision. We have seen here over a

:04:07. > :04:10.year now of harassment led by the UVF against the residents of this

:04:11. > :04:12.area and we would be loath to see anything that would reward such

:04:13. > :04:17.activity through a panel of enquiry.

:04:18. > :04:19.In a statement tonight, a spokesperson for the NIO said

:04:20. > :04:22.the Secretary of State expected to conclude discussions with

:04:23. > :04:24.a wide range of interested parties on the issue soon.

:04:25. > :04:26.No decisions will be taken until those meetings have concluded.

:04:27. > :04:30.A rapist was jailed today for 18 years and told he would not be

:04:31. > :04:34.Darius Porcikas, with an address at Upper Edward Street in Newry,

:04:35. > :04:38.was one of the two men charged with a range of offences from an

:04:39. > :04:44.incident two years ago when a woman was repeatedly raped and abused.

:04:45. > :04:58.It was here in 2011 when the ordeal began. Her then boyfriend had been

:04:59. > :05:01.involved with Darius. The three smashed her door in and said about

:05:02. > :05:04.her boyfriend with a cricket bat will stop they beat him unconscious

:05:05. > :05:09.before turning their attention to her. She was brutally beaten but

:05:10. > :05:13.this was only to be the start of her ordeal. Over the next 12 hours, she

:05:14. > :05:17.was subjected to rape, violence and deliberate humiliation, the details

:05:18. > :05:21.of which are too horrifying to be broadcast. The trial here at

:05:22. > :05:26.Craigavon lasted three weeks and it took the jury just over two hours to

:05:27. > :05:30.find Darius guilty of a total of 12 offences. During the trial, they

:05:31. > :05:35.heard how he had committed the shocking crimes and then had gone on

:05:36. > :05:40.the run. After a series of appeals to the public, Darius was eventually

:05:41. > :05:45.found living here in this wooded area a matter of yards from the

:05:46. > :05:52.college in Craigavon. He had built a temporary shelter and incredibly,

:05:53. > :05:56.had lived here for up to one month with his pregnant girlfriend. I am

:05:57. > :06:02.really pleased the court as reflected in the sentencing, the

:06:03. > :06:05.severity of this. I hope this sends a message out that we will not

:06:06. > :06:10.tolerate this in our society. Duelling Darius for 18 years, the

:06:11. > :06:13.judge he said he would not even be considered for release until it was

:06:14. > :06:19.felt safe to do so. His co-accused was found guilty of a single charge

:06:20. > :06:24.of assault on the woman's boyfriend. There was a third mild present that

:06:25. > :06:28.morning. He has never been named in court but it is believed he is back

:06:29. > :06:30.in Lithuania. The hunt for him will continue.

:06:31. > :06:34.At golf's Ryder Cup, Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell are

:06:35. > :06:37.not paired together this week but in an interview for BBC Newsline,

:06:38. > :06:40.McDowell stressed once again that there aren't any problems

:06:41. > :06:55.It is hello to a fourth consecutive Ryder Cup for Graeme McDowell. A

:06:56. > :06:59.player who excels when he steps into the world's golfing glare. His

:07:00. > :07:05.relationship with Rory McIlroy is the focus for many this week. The

:07:06. > :07:08.issue is his legal at all with his former management company which

:07:09. > :07:14.still represents grey metal. But he is adamant that all is well on and

:07:15. > :07:17.off the course. Our personal issues have been well documented the last

:07:18. > :07:22.couple of years. We both have come through that and out the other side,

:07:23. > :07:26.better friends than ever were. From the golfing point of view, the

:07:27. > :07:30.dynamic has changed from the Big Brother role that I had maybe in

:07:31. > :07:35.2010. Now he is the number one player in the world. We certainly

:07:36. > :07:40.won't play every match together like we have in the past and that will

:07:41. > :07:43.not be because of personal reasons but because the captain believes we

:07:44. > :07:53.are better used elsewhere in the team. Four years ago, Graeme

:07:54. > :07:59.McDowell was the hero. He once a repeat performance in Scotland. This

:08:00. > :08:03.is where I want to be, you want to be wearing a sweater, I want to be

:08:04. > :08:07.here in Scotland. This is going to be a tough week, it will be close

:08:08. > :08:11.and we have got to knuckle down and play hard. As he dries to help the

:08:12. > :08:13.European team when the Ryder Cup for the eighth time in the last ten

:08:14. > :08:29.attempts. Last night, the autumn equinox

:08:30. > :08:34.brought autumn rain which is good news for the gardens. More rain is

:08:35. > :08:38.living through this evening. It clears away and behind it, not

:08:39. > :08:41.completely dry. Some of the showers could be quite heavy before they

:08:42. > :08:47.start to ease away towards the end of the night. It, it turns drier and

:08:48. > :08:50.clearer. Cool in one or two spots but most places holding between

:08:51. > :08:55.eight and 12 degrees. Tomorrow we are looking at a better day. Drier

:08:56. > :09:01.and brighter and they could still be one to light showers around first

:09:02. > :09:04.thing in the morning. But they will fade away as we go through the

:09:05. > :09:12.morning. The sun of 30 come through. It is a fairly trite day -- bright

:09:13. > :09:16.day coming up. For the rest of England and Wales, the risk of a

:09:17. > :09:20.view heavy showers running through. It could be quite torrential in 12

:09:21. > :09:29.places but not all parts will get them. Still some drier and brighter

:09:30. > :09:33.spells in between. It is a fresh feeling afternoon for us as well.

:09:34. > :09:38.Mainly dry and bright with decent spells of sunshine but temperatures

:09:39. > :09:42.ranging from 14 in the north coast to 16 in parts of the South. Through

:09:43. > :09:46.tomorrow night and into Thursday, the temperatures are creeping back

:09:47. > :09:50.up, it will feel and muggy and warm out quite a lot of cloud and drizzly

:09:51. > :09:53.rain around. Friday looks a little bit drier and brighter again.
