:00:10. > :00:12.He was forced to make a statement after

:00:13. > :00:15.an extraordinary interview on the BBC where the former Health Minister

:00:16. > :00:19.Edwin Poots claimed it was common knowledge Mr Robinson would be gone

:00:20. > :00:29.Here's our political correspondent Gareth Gordon.

:00:30. > :00:33.We must now move onto questions to the Minister of health.

:00:34. > :00:37.last night, that was Edwin Poots, who conducted his final

:00:38. > :00:41.Assembly Question Time before learning he was to be replaced.

:00:42. > :00:45.There was no bitterness, from people who were standing down.

:00:46. > :00:50.They recognised the need for us to continue to turn things around.

:00:51. > :00:53.Mr Robinson was also asked about his own future.

:00:54. > :00:56.How can I tell how long I'm going to live?

:00:57. > :01:01.I am taking here taking three full meals a day,

:01:02. > :01:05.But when Edwin Poots went on radio this morning,

:01:06. > :01:09.he said his leader would be gone before the Assembly election.

:01:10. > :01:12.It wasn't really the intention for him to stay on for that period

:01:13. > :01:18.That was in a interview he carried out,

:01:19. > :01:30.It appears Mr Poots may have got his interviews mixed up.

:01:31. > :01:33.He later clarified his position - too late for Mr Robinson,

:01:34. > :01:37.who issued a statement saying he had no plans to stand down before

:01:38. > :01:41.the Assembly election, and when he did decide to go, it would be he

:01:42. > :01:47.He added he would continue to lead as long as the party

:01:48. > :01:54.He has given no intention that he will go anywhere for some time,

:01:55. > :01:58.and he will certainly not have appreciated a senior party member

:01:59. > :02:06.It is not the way the party likes to do business.

:02:07. > :02:09.Public shows of unity are much more its thing.

:02:10. > :02:13.The DUP won't want any more days like today.

:02:14. > :02:19.The Chief Coroner in England has ordered

:02:20. > :02:22.an investigation into the death of a baby from Londonderry at Great

:02:23. > :02:29.Baby Sophie Maguire died after surgery in the world renowned

:02:30. > :02:33.The family have welcomed the fresh inquiry

:02:34. > :02:36.after it emerged no post mortem examination was ever carried out.

:02:37. > :02:41.Our North-West reporter, Keiron Tourish has the details.

:02:42. > :02:44.Baby Sophie Maguire lived for only 15 day, but even in that short time

:02:45. > :02:51.Before her birth in Altnagelvin, it was discovered she had blood

:02:52. > :02:54.flow problems in her brain and she was later transferred to Great

:02:55. > :03:02.After undergoing brain surgery, she later developed a number of clots.

:03:03. > :03:05.Tragically, she deteriorated and her family say they took

:03:06. > :03:08.the heartbreaking decision to switch off the life-support machine

:03:09. > :03:15.That is all I see every night when I close my eyes,

:03:16. > :03:23.I know there is a lot of happy things that happen with us

:03:24. > :03:26.there, but for some reason, that awful image just sticks in

:03:27. > :03:31.our heads and it probably will stick in my head for the rest of my life.

:03:32. > :03:34.The family say there was never any post mortem examination to establish

:03:35. > :03:38.the cause of death and a call from a member of staff in Great

:03:39. > :03:41.Ormond Street hospital prompted more questions than answers.

:03:42. > :03:44.After I received a phone call from one of the members of staff,

:03:45. > :03:47.they said they reopened her case, I simply said, why did you feel

:03:48. > :03:54.And she said, because she should never have died.

:03:55. > :04:23.We need answers. We need closure.

:04:24. > :04:24.Sophie Maguire's family have welcomed the investigation

:04:25. > :04:28.They believe that only a detailed public inquiry in the

:04:29. > :04:34.form of an inquest will establish what happened to their daughter.

:04:35. > :04:37.A tonne of Cocaine estimated to be worth as much as eighty million euro

:04:38. > :04:41.has been seized on board a yacht off the south-west coast of Ireland,

:04:42. > :04:47.It's believed to be one of Europe's biggest drug seizures

:04:48. > :04:52.Three men understood to be from the UK have been detailed

:04:53. > :04:58.by the Irish Navy. Will Leitch reports.

:04:59. > :05:10.The yacht under tow by the Army today. It had been tracked by

:05:11. > :05:14.European, Irish and American crime agencies all the way from the

:05:15. > :05:20.Caribbean until it was off the coast of Ireland yesterday. If we did not

:05:21. > :05:24.practice with this quite regularly in challenging conditions, we would

:05:25. > :05:31.not get these things right, but we train for this quite rigorous late

:05:32. > :05:33.and we evaluate ourselves to make sure we do it properly. The results

:05:34. > :05:39.are evident in how successful this operation was conducted at sea in

:05:40. > :05:45.this joint task force between ourselves, the Customs service and

:05:46. > :05:50.the police. The headquarters are at the base in corporate the yacht

:05:51. > :05:55.would be taken for a technical investigation and the size of the

:05:56. > :06:01.hall is first fight. It is a huge quantity, we expected to be in

:06:02. > :06:06.excess of a metric tonne. If it is, perhaps more, it could be worth

:06:07. > :06:10.around 75 million euros. Three men believed to be UK citizens were

:06:11. > :06:12.detained on board the 18 metre vessel.

:06:13. > :06:15.As the countdown to golf's Ryder Cup continues, the rivalry between

:06:16. > :06:18.One American player took a swipe at Northern Ireland's two golfers

:06:19. > :06:26.Stephen Watson reports from Gleneagles.

:06:27. > :06:35.He may be the world number one, but Rory McIlroy isn't feeling the Ryder

:06:36. > :06:40.Cup pressure. Despite he and fellow countrymen Graeme McDowell being the

:06:41. > :06:42.of some American foul play today. Phil Mickelson suggested that the

:06:43. > :06:48.European team spirit could be dampened this week because of the

:06:49. > :06:52.ongoing court case involving the two Northern Ireland players and a

:06:53. > :06:55.former management company. Not only are we able to play together, we

:06:56. > :07:03.also don't litigate against each other and that is a real plus, I

:07:04. > :07:06.feel, heading into this week. Rory McIlroy has been the target for

:07:07. > :07:12.sinuously gamesmanship in the past, but he takes it all in his stride. I

:07:13. > :07:17.am relishing that road of being that targeted player. I do not buy into

:07:18. > :07:20.it to much, because it is golf, it is not like in football or rugby

:07:21. > :07:24.where you can target somebody and take them out of the game, you

:07:25. > :07:29.cannot do that, they're still have to come and beat me. Rickie Fowler

:07:30. > :07:33.was broken symmetry, he says he wants to come to Northern Ireland to

:07:34. > :07:42.play in the Irish Open next year. -- Rickie Fowler was more conciliatory.

:07:43. > :07:45.I would like to come back and play here, Rory and I have gotten to know

:07:46. > :07:50.each other a lot better in the last few years, and if we can have been

:07:51. > :07:53.to the rowdier and their... For now, their friendship is put to one

:07:54. > :07:59.side for an intense Ryder Cup rivalry. Rory McIlroy and Graeme

:08:00. > :08:00.McDowell will have one more practice day tomorrow before the matches get

:08:01. > :08:04.underway on Friday morning. And you can see a special hour long

:08:05. > :08:06.programme about Northern Ireland's three major Golf champions right

:08:07. > :08:24.after this bulletin on BBC One. Good evening, after a bright and

:08:25. > :08:30.fresh day, some milder air returning from the southwestern night. That

:08:31. > :08:34.mild air, some clout. Somebody conditions and damp conditions with

:08:35. > :08:38.rain and drizzle from most parts, but particularly in the north and

:08:39. > :08:43.west. That breeze will freshen up. Mild with milder air coming in and

:08:44. > :08:55.temperatures staying in double figures, no lower than. Still damp.

:08:56. > :09:02.That rain, easing off in certain areas. Cloudy and breezy across many

:09:03. > :09:06.parts of Ireland and Britain, a strong wind for northern Scotland,

:09:07. > :09:09.some moderate bursts of rain and also some rain for north-west

:09:10. > :09:14.England trickling across the Pennines into the Northeast and some

:09:15. > :09:17.rain per parts of West Wales. The rest of England and eastern areas,

:09:18. > :09:22.largely dry with some cloud, but eastern areas will brighten up and

:09:23. > :09:26.temperatures, not too bad, reaching 20 degrees in the south-east.

:09:27. > :09:31.Northern Ireland, looking cloudy in the afternoon. Some patches of

:09:32. > :09:35.drizzle in the West, but try the further east you are and that could

:09:36. > :09:41.be the odd hint of brightness. Temperatures will be higher than

:09:42. > :09:45.today, 17, 18 degrees, but we might see the odd 1920 degrees. Some rain

:09:46. > :09:48.moving through tomorrow night introducing fresh conditions for

:09:49. > :09:52.Friday, but brighter conditions and it looks like the start of the

:09:53. > :09:56.weekend will be mainly dry. That is it for now, you can keep

:09:57. > :09:58.up-to-date online and follow the programme on Facebook and Twitter,

:09:59. > :10:00.from everyone here, good night.
