:00:00. > :00:13.The Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, says he expects a political deal at Stormont

:00:14. > :00:17.Speaking in Enniskillen, where he was attending a

:00:18. > :00:20.Remembrance Day service, Mr Kenny said he was hopeful the remaining

:00:21. > :00:35.Together in Enniskillen to remember the past. But for politicians, the

:00:36. > :00:41.present was also on their minds. The Taoiseach gave his most optimistic

:00:42. > :00:46.and occasion yet that a deal with Stormont was close. I do hope that

:00:47. > :00:52.it can be concluded successfully in the next couple of days. Today, I

:00:53. > :01:00.will be talking to the Prime Minister in Downing Street tomorrow.

:01:01. > :01:04.And I hope we can have this concluded. In Belfast, the Secretary

:01:05. > :01:11.of State was more cautious. The gap is closing, but it is still a very

:01:12. > :01:18.difficult task. There are some very sensitive and difficult issues were

:01:19. > :01:23.getting a resolution and finding common ground between all the

:01:24. > :01:28.participants will be difficult. The final few days before any deal is

:01:29. > :01:31.signed are often frenetic. It will be an important week in terms of the

:01:32. > :01:36.process which I hope will come to an end of this week. I am optimistic

:01:37. > :01:42.because the alternative is something that we be bad for Northern Ireland.

:01:43. > :01:46.Two months have passed with little outward sign of progress. But

:01:47. > :01:49.high-level meetings and a shift to more optimistic language indicates

:01:50. > :01:51.that the end is in sight. There have been acts

:01:52. > :01:54.of remembrance in towns The main ceremony was in Belfast

:01:55. > :02:06.as Will Leitch reports. In the pouring rain at Belfast City

:02:07. > :02:09.Hall, the act of remembrance was led by the first Minister and the

:02:10. > :02:13.Secretary of State and the Deputy Lord mayor, joined by the Irish

:02:14. > :02:41.Minister for foreign affairs. As well as the official wreaths,

:02:42. > :02:45.many had come to lead their own. Despite the rain, so many people

:02:46. > :02:49.came out because it means so much to those people. It is absolutely

:02:50. > :02:57.fantastic. If it was dry, I'm sure more would have been passing by. It

:02:58. > :03:02.is fantastic to see so many people conducting such a significant act of

:03:03. > :03:05.remembrance. It is important for all Irish people to reflect on the

:03:06. > :03:10.memory of our loss and to commemorate in a way that we perhaps

:03:11. > :03:21.have not in the past. Meanwhile, in Enniskillen, the remember the fallen

:03:22. > :03:26.for 11 people died in the bombing. The Taoiseach took part in the

:03:27. > :03:27.service. A soldier injured in the Ballygawley

:03:28. > :03:29.bus bombing in 1988 has been reunited with

:03:30. > :03:32.a woman who came to his aid. James Leatherbarrow was helped as he

:03:33. > :03:47.lay trapped after the blast in which Fate brought them together 27 years

:03:48. > :03:53.ago. A yearning to find out more about that night brought them

:03:54. > :03:56.together today. I have only had snippets of what happened that

:03:57. > :04:01.night. It has put the jigsaw together. Put things into dust. The

:04:02. > :04:09.roadside bomb was detonated shortly after midnight. The following

:04:10. > :04:17.morning, there was a fuel view of the sacrifice. The soldiers killed

:04:18. > :04:25.in the bomb explosion were all young, aged between 18 and 21. Their

:04:26. > :04:32.colleagues who were injured were also young. Many of them injured

:04:33. > :04:40.seriously. Among them James. For a moment today, unknown. Also a moment

:04:41. > :04:46.to share. If it wasn't for these girls and these people in the band

:04:47. > :04:53.and the people in Northern Ireland, we wouldn't be here today. A lot

:04:54. > :04:58.more of us would have died. I just remember the road so quiet and so

:04:59. > :05:06.dark. I just remember the cries, my children crying. We just tried our

:05:07. > :05:13.best to save as many as we possibly could. There were prayers for the

:05:14. > :05:15.fallen at the service. For one of the survivors, the gratitude was

:05:16. > :05:19.personal. Rugby and Ulster have beaten

:05:20. > :05:22.the Dragons in the PRO 12 league. They move up to 5th place

:05:23. > :05:36.after a 19-12 victory as It was our first game in charge of

:05:37. > :05:42.the new director of rugby. The Australian saw his Ulster side trail

:05:43. > :05:46.9-nil early on. But they were only down by three points at half-time.

:05:47. > :05:53.Then Paul Marshall gave the visitors the lead at the start of the second

:05:54. > :06:01.half. Paddy Jackson kept the scoreboard ticking over as Ulster

:06:02. > :06:03.opened up a 7-point advantage. But they've acquired some stern defence

:06:04. > :06:11.in the last few minutes to keep the Dragons at me. It wasn't pretty at

:06:12. > :06:17.times, but they were satisfied. He will be happy to get his first away

:06:18. > :06:21.win. There is a lot of work to do. But not a bad place to start. Add a

:06:22. > :06:23.confidence boost before the start of the European campaign.

:06:24. > :06:25.confidence boost before the start of It's been a wet old day, let's see

:06:26. > :06:30.what's in store in the new week, here's Barra.

:06:31. > :06:40.Hello. I better end to the day after a very wet one. Bag you for your

:06:41. > :06:44.photographs. Tonight, it will be largely dry for a good part of it

:06:45. > :06:52.for BC the next area of rain coming in from the west. Temperatures

:06:53. > :06:55.tonight 6-7 . The week gets off to a windy start. Further spells of arena

:06:56. > :06:59.through the week. But to begin with, it's going to be mild, but

:07:00. > :07:05.temperatures back to normal by the end of the week. Tomorrow, gusty

:07:06. > :07:12.wind from the South and West driving in bands of rain. Quite unsettled

:07:13. > :07:17.weather across Ireland, northern England, Wales and uproot Scotland.

:07:18. > :07:24.Largely dry for much of central and southern areas. Temperatures above

:07:25. > :07:30.normal for the time of year. 14-15 degrees. The rain will last into the

:07:31. > :07:33.evening before it turned a bit drier. Further outbreaks of rain

:07:34. > :07:39.coming and going right through the week. Mild to begin with, but by the

:07:40. > :07:41.end of the week, the temperatures will fall back to what they should

:07:42. > :07:45.be for the time of year. That's it for now. Have a good

:07:46. > :07:54.The knives are sharpened and the heat is on. It can only mean one thing.
