:00:17. > :00:28.Forensic officers searched for evidence after a young man was found

:00:29. > :00:34.murdered in Twinbrook. Police believe he was a bit of a violent

:00:35. > :00:37.attack. The police say they received a

:00:38. > :00:44.report at around ten to one this morning of a young man lying on the

:00:45. > :00:50.ground close to where I am. The eminent service attended and he was

:00:51. > :00:55.pronounced dead near the scene. He had unexplained injuries on his body

:00:56. > :01:00.and the police began a murder inquiry.

:01:01. > :01:03.The first sign that something was wrong where the silence of the

:01:04. > :01:09.emergency services. It is thought the police are investigating the

:01:10. > :01:12.possibility that the victim was murdered somewhere else and

:01:13. > :01:16.collapsed where he was found. This place is normally a very, very

:01:17. > :01:25.quiet place. I am horrified. Local residents are

:01:26. > :01:30.traumatised by this. One woman put a blanket over the young man, and

:01:31. > :01:37.first and foremost on our minds is the young man's family.

:01:38. > :01:43.A family member was to traumatised to comment. He said the family have

:01:44. > :01:48.been left traumatised -- Barack so close to Christmas.

:01:49. > :01:50.Elise have appealed for information. -- police.

:01:54. > :01:54.It's understood a man's been arrested.

:01:55. > :02:07.The 52-year-old woman's body was found inside the semidetached house

:02:08. > :02:11.in the early hours of this morning. Today police have the properties

:02:12. > :02:14.sealed off while forensic experts carried out a detailed examination.

:02:15. > :02:19.Officers also carried out house-to-house enquiries. It is

:02:20. > :02:22.believed she was from eastern Europe and had been living and working in

:02:23. > :02:28.the Portavogie area for quite some time.

:02:29. > :02:31.This is a very tightly knit community, people are very friendly

:02:32. > :02:35.towards each other. There has been foreign nationals working here

:02:36. > :02:40.particularly within the fishing industry for many years, and they

:02:41. > :02:48.have always -- all been accepted. It is very sad. It is to establish

:02:49. > :02:51.how the woman died, but it is understood a 25-year-old man is

:02:52. > :02:53.being questioned by detectives in Belfast.

:02:54. > :02:56.-- police are trying to establish. An explosive device was found

:02:57. > :02:58.during a security alert in north Army bomb experts examined

:02:59. > :03:02.the object in Manor Close, and have taken it away

:03:03. > :03:05.for further examination. A 63-year-old man has been arrested

:03:06. > :03:07.by detectives investigating It follows a number

:03:08. > :03:13.of police searches in north An attack on three teenage boys

:03:14. > :03:18.in Londonderry is being treated The boys, aged 15 and 13,

:03:19. > :03:24.were assaulted by a group of youths on the city side of the Peace bridge

:03:25. > :03:27.at around ten o'clock last night. A 13-year-old has been released

:03:28. > :03:31.on bail, while two 14-year-olds The draw for next year's

:03:32. > :03:41.European Championships is taking place, and Northern Ireland have

:03:42. > :03:43.been drawn in Group C alongside Michael O'Neill had a wry smile

:03:44. > :03:55.at the prospect of facing Northern Ireland will open

:03:56. > :04:09.their campaign against Poland They will also play Ukraine in the

:04:10. > :04:15.The Republic are in Group E along with Belgium.

:04:16. > :04:19.Northern Ireland will play Sweden in their opening game.

:04:20. > :04:22.Well, the weather has been making life difficult for many people today

:04:23. > :04:24.after temperatures dropped to freezing overnight.

:04:25. > :04:26.Snow fell in many areas, and led to dangerous conditions

:04:27. > :04:29.on the roads and also to a number of accidents.

:04:30. > :04:31.The M1 was down to one lane at one stage,

:04:32. > :04:34.But it has since re-opened, with conditions easing

:04:35. > :04:39.So what's in store for the rest of the weekend?

:04:40. > :04:51.That has been quite a day of whether, we have plenty of rain and

:04:52. > :04:54.snow through the first part of the day, but we are not yet out of the

:04:55. > :04:58.woods. The Met office has issued another

:04:59. > :05:03.severe weather warning, this time for ice, because as we go through

:05:04. > :05:09.this evening the temperatures will drop away really quite markedly.

:05:10. > :05:14.This will allow some freezing fog to form and the chance of some ice on

:05:15. > :05:21.-- untreated roads by dawn tomorrow morning. But it is not going to stay

:05:22. > :05:25.that way on Sunday, there will be rain arriving later on. So a pretty

:05:26. > :05:33.cold forming right across Northern Ireland. But it is not going to take

:05:34. > :05:39.very long for the skies to cloud over from the south. That rain

:05:40. > :05:46.brings with us some warmer air, and you can see the effect of that on

:05:47. > :05:50.this wider view. To the north, the temperature one or 2 degrees, to the

:05:51. > :05:55.south much, much warmer. That does some of the change that is coming as

:05:56. > :05:59.we head into the start of next week. We are drawing more of these low

:06:00. > :06:03.pressure systems in, pulling in warmer air across Northern Ireland.

:06:04. > :06:07.Going into the first part of next week we are going to see some

:06:08. > :06:11.unsettled weather, a little bit more in the way of rain around, also

:06:12. > :06:15.those temperatures will be becoming just a little bit more mild. That is

:06:16. > :06:19.certainly the case on Monday, a recently dry, bright day to start

:06:20. > :06:25.with, temperatures approaching double figures. Perfectly

:06:26. > :06:29.respectable for mid-December. So we are leaving behind some of these

:06:30. > :06:33.could temperatures, and things are getting a bit more mild.

:06:34. > :06:37.BBC Newsline will be back tomorrow at ten past six.
