:02:45. > :02:48.Fr John McManus from the Diocese of Down and Connor had no

:02:49. > :02:57.case to answer. It's been nearly five years since

:02:58. > :03:02.allegations against Fr John McManus were reported to Diocese of Down and

:03:03. > :03:07.Connor. The high-profile priest was central to the new child protection

:03:08. > :03:11.arrangements in the church and is often interviewed in public as a

:03:12. > :03:15.spokesperson. At the time, Fr John McManus said he wholeheartedly

:03:16. > :03:20.denied the allegations. He requested leave to facilitate an investigation

:03:21. > :03:23.by the PSNI and social services. The enquiry found there was no

:03:24. > :03:28.safeguarding issues that would prevent his wrist and ministry. --

:03:29. > :03:32.return. It was here at St Patrick's Church where Fr John McManus told

:03:33. > :03:37.parishioners he would be stepping aside. This morning alongside Bishop

:03:38. > :03:41.Noel Trainer, he celebrated Mass. Inside the church, Fr John McManus

:03:42. > :03:46.thanked his family, friends and neighbours for his... There support.

:03:47. > :03:50.Everybody is over the moon. A very enthusiastic about seeing him return

:03:51. > :03:55.because we were very disappointed to see that he had been left out for a

:03:56. > :04:02.while for a number of years, and it would appear that those were four

:04:03. > :04:07.years wasted because John had undoubted talent and he was a great

:04:08. > :04:10.spiritual leader for certainly everybody in the diocese,

:04:11. > :04:16.particularly those of us who lived and worked with him. At Mass this

:04:17. > :04:19.morning, Bishop Noel Trainer wished Fr John McManus many happy years of

:04:20. > :04:21.fruitful ministry. The Sinn Fein President,

:04:22. > :04:24.Gerry Adams, says he believes Thomas "Slab" Murphy has been treated

:04:25. > :04:26.unfairly over his conviction Murphy, alleged to have been a chief

:04:27. > :04:30.of staff of the IRA, was convicted last week of failing

:04:31. > :04:33.to file tax returns over nine years for his farm business

:04:34. > :04:35.in County Louth. In a statement, Gerry Adams said

:04:36. > :04:37.he still regarded Murphy He also said it was extraordinary

:04:38. > :04:42.that he had been tried at the three-judge Special Criminal

:04:43. > :04:49.Court instead of in front of a jury. Rugby, and Ulster have beaten

:04:50. > :04:51.Toulouse for the second week in a row in the European

:04:52. > :04:56.Champions Cup, to keep A Ruan Pienaar try helped

:04:57. > :05:00.the visitors to a 10-3 half-time Five minutes into the second half,

:05:01. > :05:03.Andrew Trimble got Ulster's second touchdown, and despite a Toulouse

:05:04. > :05:06.fightback, Luke Marshall sealed the victory with just

:05:07. > :05:12.over five minutes to go. Let's get a look at the forecast

:05:13. > :05:28.for the start of the Christmas week Hello. It was a little bit cooler

:05:29. > :05:32.today, and thus was extension rated by a gusty wind in places. Those

:05:33. > :05:36.winds will often be a feature over the rest of the week. More rain

:05:37. > :05:40.showers in the forecast and it won't be quite as mild as we have been

:05:41. > :05:44.used to lately. A few showers coming in on that gusty wind today, still a

:05:45. > :05:47.few of them this evening but through the night, they will tend to ease

:05:48. > :05:52.back towards the north and west. Many inland areas becoming dry with

:05:53. > :05:56.clear spells. In towns, temperatures around five or six Celsius but it

:05:57. > :05:59.could be lower in the countryside, potentially quite a chilly want by

:06:00. > :06:03.some of us. Tomorrow we will eventually see brighter skies

:06:04. > :06:04.returning, but it looks as though it will be a bit of a dismal start.

:06:05. > :06:23.Some wet and windy the morning rush-hour, there

:06:24. > :06:25.could be some surface water and spray on the roads. That band of

:06:26. > :06:28.persistent rain, strong winds, moving west to east through the

:06:29. > :06:30.morning rush hour. It won't last all day. I didn't morning, brighter

:06:31. > :06:32.skies starting to push in from the west, and across the Republic of

:06:33. > :06:34.Ireland. That wet and windy weather pushing across Scotland, snow for

:06:35. > :06:36.the mountains, north-west England, Wales and the south-west, and

:06:37. > :06:38.eventually creeping towards the south-east. Temperatures still

:06:39. > :06:42.fairly reasonable, 13 Celsius, but bear in mind the blustery wind. It

:06:43. > :06:46.will remain quite gusty for Northern Ireland as we head into the

:06:47. > :06:51.afternoon, but a much brighter afternoon. A lot of dry weather and

:06:52. > :06:54.sunshine. Temperatures similar today, nine or 10 Celsius, bearing

:06:55. > :07:00.in mind the gusty wind. To the west of the week, still plenty of isobars

:07:01. > :07:02.on the charts, a sign of the strong winds. Various weather systems

:07:03. > :07:07.pushing through from time to time but I think those wet and windy

:07:08. > :07:09.spells will come in darkness, through the day, bright spells and

:07:10. > :07:18.showers and perhaps a bit chilly by Christmas Eve. That is it. Our next

:07:19. > :07:23.news bulletin is that 11:20pm, until then, keep up-to-date with local

:07:24. > :07:27.news on BBC Radio Ulster or our online service. From everyone here

:07:28. > :07:41.on the news 19, enjoy your evening. Goodbye.
