:02:05. > :02:09.evening, or that I can say is, make the sacrifices because it is worth

:02:13. > :02:16.that holding it in Belfast this year was very apt.

:02:17. > :02:20.I'm privileged to come from here but to be here on a night like this is

:02:21. > :02:25.something that's dot-mac we all grew up with the sports personality

:02:57. > :03:00.anybody I apologise to any video has been heard.

:03:01. > :03:04.It is not my intention to do that. Although Andy Murray was named

:03:05. > :03:05.sports personality of the year, Northern Ireland's sporting success

:03:06. > :03:09.was definitely on display. A Catholic priest who was

:03:10. > :03:11.investigated over abuse allegations The public prosecution service found

:03:12. > :03:14.Father John McManus from the Diocese of Down and Connor had

:03:15. > :03:17.no case to answer. The high-profile priest was central

:03:18. > :03:19.to the new child protection arrangements in the church,

:03:20. > :03:22.and often acted as a spokesperson Yesterday at St Patrick's

:03:23. > :03:39.in Ballygal-get he celebrated mass Everybody is over the moon and is

:03:40. > :03:42.very enthusiastic about seeing him return because we were very

:03:43. > :03:49.disappointed to see that he had been left out for a while for a number of

:03:50. > :03:53.years and it would appear that those were four years wasted because John

:03:54. > :03:54.had undoubted talent and was a great spiritual leader.

:03:55. > :03:58.Rugby, and Ulster have beaten French club Toulouse for the second week

:03:59. > :04:00.in a row, in the European Champions Cup.

:04:01. > :04:03.Three tries gave them a 25 to 23 points victory,

:04:04. > :04:06.which keeps them in contention for the quarter finals.

:04:07. > :04:10.Let's get a look at the forecast for the start of the Christmas week

:04:11. > :04:17.Good evening. It was little bit today and that was accentuated by a

:04:18. > :04:21.gusty wind and places. As we go to the rest of the of the week, the

:04:22. > :04:25.winds are often going to be the feature. There is more rain showers

:04:26. > :04:29.forecast and it won't be quite as much as we have been used to lately.

:04:30. > :04:33.Today we had a few showers coming in on the breeze. A few of those for a

:04:34. > :04:37.time to the best part overnight, particularly towards the north and

:04:38. > :04:41.west but for many of us will die away. Temperatures and towns dipping

:04:42. > :04:44.to five or 6 degrees but rural spots could be a little bit lower support

:04:45. > :04:48.a chilly night in places. Towards the west the change on the way. It

:04:49. > :04:51.will eventually brighten up tomorrow but first thing in the morning it is

:04:52. > :04:56.going to bring us a wet and windy start so bear that in mind. Through

:04:57. > :04:59.the morning rush-hour there could be surface water to content was on the

:05:00. > :05:02.roads. That band of persistence frameworks its way eastwards through

:05:03. > :05:05.the morning, along with those brisk winds and eventually we'll see

:05:06. > :05:09.something brighter tucking in behind it later in the morning. As we will

:05:10. > :05:13.cross the Republic of Ireland as that rain moves away. The wet and

:05:14. > :05:16.windy weather extended to Scotland and Stansted the snow over the

:05:17. > :05:20.mountains. Into north-west England, Wales and into the south-west. Later

:05:21. > :05:24.in the date creeps towards the south-east. Temperatures still not

:05:25. > :05:27.bad here. And they have that blustery wind. It is still going to

:05:28. > :05:32.be quite gusty for Northern Ireland, the afternoon at a much cheerier

:05:33. > :05:36.picture with some sunshine and a lot of dry weather. Temperatures around

:05:37. > :05:41.nine or 10 degrees. Pretty similar to today and we have that gusty wind

:05:42. > :05:45.making it feel quite cool. As we go through the rest of the week plenty

:05:46. > :05:49.of highs of bars still on the charts so the winds are going to be a

:05:50. > :05:52.feature and we were various weather fronts running through as well. We

:05:53. > :05:55.will find these wet and windy spells come along at night time so we get

:05:56. > :05:59.the first of those coming through tomorrow night and then sinks is way

:06:00. > :06:03.southwards and England and Wales during Tuesday, brightening up with

:06:04. > :06:06.showers behind towards the north-west. On Wednesday it is

:06:07. > :06:11.generally a bright, breezy day for many. The showers mainly confined to

:06:12. > :06:14.the north-west in Scotland. Another weather system for Wednesday night

:06:15. > :06:18.once pushes through and it could be chilly on Christmas Eve.

:06:19. > :06:21.Our next BBC Newsline bulletin is at 6:25am in the morning.
