:00:10. > :00:12.The woman's husband was rescued from the blaze,

:00:13. > :00:19.Our reporter Clodagh Rice has been to the scene.

:00:20. > :00:21.Emergency services were called to the house on Silverhill Park

:00:22. > :00:26.Fire fighters forced their way into the bungalow, and found

:00:27. > :00:31.The woman's husband, who is in his seventies,

:00:32. > :00:37.He is being treated in hospital for his injuries.

:00:38. > :00:40.It's the second death that has been caused by a fire at a house

:00:41. > :00:56.It is terrible. Especially at this time of year. This is the second

:00:57. > :01:01.fatality in the Enniskillen area within the last month. Obviously, it

:01:02. > :01:07.is something with people waking up this morning and hearing the news,

:01:08. > :01:08.of another death by fire, people are devastated.

:01:09. > :01:11.Neighbours have already started to lay flowers at the house

:01:12. > :01:13.which was badly damaged by the blaze.

:01:14. > :01:16.Forensic tests were being carried out at the house by police and fire

:01:17. > :01:30.The investigation into what caused the fire is ongoing but, at this

:01:31. > :01:38.stage, police are not treating it as suspicious.

:01:39. > :01:46.A man has been charged in connection with an attack on a police patrol on

:01:47. > :01:47.Christmas Day. Charges include attempted murder. He appears in

:01:48. > :01:50.court tomorrow. The last 12 months have been a tough

:01:51. > :01:53.time for dairy farmers, There were farmers' protests,

:01:54. > :01:58.and calls for help, but not much Our agriculture and environment

:01:59. > :02:00.correspondent, Conor I first met David Irvine

:02:01. > :02:09.and his father William on their farm They were milking

:02:10. > :02:12.140 head of cattle, and taking two salaries

:02:13. > :02:15.from the enterprise, As William explained to me,

:02:16. > :02:21.things were tight, and paying It adds up very quickly,

:02:22. > :02:31.very quickly into a difficult The Winter Fair is a big event

:02:32. > :02:40.in the farming calendar, a time for dairy people

:02:41. > :02:46.to congregate, and compare notes. There will have been little festive

:02:47. > :02:49.cheer amongst these farm families, and it was here that I met

:02:50. > :02:52.William Irvine again to ask how It has been more of the same,

:02:53. > :02:58.the price remains low, Long-term projections

:02:59. > :03:11.are quite good. But this month's bills

:03:12. > :03:13.have to be paid, Traditionally, dairy farmers have

:03:14. > :03:18.been prepared to ride the wave, making money when the price was up,

:03:19. > :03:21.suffering loss when it dropped. But the trough is longer

:03:22. > :03:23.and deeper than before, Alternatives include an insurance

:03:24. > :03:30.scheme which kicks in to shore up and fixed-term contracts

:03:31. > :03:36.with dairies which farmers can use to lock

:03:37. > :03:37.in some of the milk. It's about taking the volatility

:03:38. > :03:43.out of the system. We have said, this is our milk price

:03:44. > :03:51.for the last quarter of the year. Farmers have some form of visibility

:03:52. > :03:53.of what their milk cheque will be They may not be happy

:03:54. > :04:02.with what it is, but at least There are tentative

:04:03. > :04:05.signs of an improvement. Countries that import dairy produce

:04:06. > :04:07.are showing interest again. Countries that produce it

:04:08. > :04:09.are cutting back on supply. It is just a question of how long it

:04:10. > :04:19.takes the market to balance out. It was a year dominated by concerns

:04:20. > :04:22.about money in education. While the schools budget

:04:23. > :04:23.was relatively protected, if still stretched, as our education

:04:24. > :04:26.correspondent Robbie Meredith reports, higher and further

:04:27. > :04:27.education will face more New buildings went up

:04:28. > :04:37.at Ulster University's Belfast campus, but the number of staff,

:04:38. > :04:49.students and subjects came down. We will be removing our provision of

:04:50. > :04:51.modern languages in this specific subject of mathematics and design

:04:52. > :04:53.and other areas impacted. Queen's also announced

:04:54. > :04:55.it was shedding over 200 staff, and over 1,000 student places over

:04:56. > :04:58.the next three years. Leaving many staff concerned

:04:59. > :04:59.about the future shape Further education colleges

:05:00. > :05:02.also faced budget cuts. But, elsewhere, a breakthrough,

:05:03. > :05:05.as the education authority finally replaced the five education

:05:06. > :05:07.and library boards, after seven Meanwhile, seven years

:05:08. > :05:13.after the end of the 11-plus, academic selection

:05:14. > :05:17.was in the news again. The BBC revealed details

:05:18. > :05:21.of a draft report commissioned by the Office Of The First

:05:22. > :05:23.And Deputy First Minister which recommended ending

:05:24. > :05:25.academic selection. It also asked why pupils

:05:26. > :05:27.in disadvantaged predominantly Catholic areas outperformed

:05:28. > :05:39.their Protestant peers. Deprivation is not a barrier to

:05:40. > :05:44.learning. It does pose problems, it does give us some major challenges,

:05:45. > :05:45.but we have to be up for those challenges.

:05:46. > :05:47.But, amid the money worries and ideological battles,

:05:48. > :05:49.a lot of good work still went on in local schools.

:05:50. > :05:57.Delighted with my results, so happy with myself.

:05:58. > :05:59.And there was national recognition for some of our schools.

:06:00. > :06:02.St Patrick's High School in Keady won the prestigious TES

:06:03. > :06:13.We are about unleashing human potential, not limiting it. We are

:06:14. > :06:19.not just an all ability school, every school is, every class is all

:06:20. > :06:23.ability. We believe the edible enhance the learning of the less

:06:24. > :06:24.able, in particular, their discipline.

:06:25. > :06:26.While Fairview Primary School in Ballyclare attracted teachers

:06:27. > :06:28.from across the globe, to see how they recycled

:06:29. > :06:31.With the possibility of a new Education Minister

:06:32. > :06:33.to replace Sinn Fein's John O'Dowd in May, and the Department
