:00:00. > :00:00.It was this sermon in 2014 that landed Pastor McConnell in court.
:00:00. > :00:00.Now people say there are good Muslims in Britain,
:00:07. > :00:10.that may be so, but I don't trust them.
:00:11. > :00:13.But it wasn't just what he said - it was the fact the sermon
:00:14. > :00:19.The judge accepted Pastor McConnell thought he was preaching
:00:20. > :00:23.to his congregation and not the whole internet.
:00:24. > :00:26.But he said he words caused him to lose the run of himself
:00:27. > :00:29.and he should be more careful in the future.
:00:30. > :00:32.That was one particular message I've preached.
:00:33. > :00:36.Look at the thousands of messages I have preached and had listened to
:00:37. > :00:41.and I've even said worse things than that and it has gone out.
:00:42. > :00:44.Elsewhere in the sermon, Pastor McConnell's criticism
:00:45. > :00:56.Islam is heathen, Islam is satanic, a doctrine spawned in hell.
:00:57. > :00:59.And while the judge said he was absolutely entitled
:01:00. > :01:03.to criticise another faith, he'd not set out clear reasons why -
:01:04. > :01:05.instead he said he'd indulged in nothing more than
:01:06. > :01:11.Judge McNally said if a Muslim had described Christianity in the same
:01:12. > :01:15.way, there would have been such a tornado of abuse it would make
:01:16. > :01:21.the reaction to Pastor McConnell's words look like an April shower.
:01:22. > :01:24.Members of his congregation have supported him throughout.
:01:25. > :01:27.His solicitor said the trial had taken its toll
:01:28. > :01:34.You can only expect justice in the next world, but on this
:01:35. > :01:38.occasion the law and justice have come together, this gentleman has
:01:39. > :01:41.taken a principled stand, he has carried the can for this
:01:42. > :01:45.to the detriment of his health for nearly two years and he is to be
:01:46. > :01:52.congratulated, we are greatly relieved that justice was done.
:01:53. > :02:05.A statement from the Belfast Islamic this afternoon said:
:02:06. > :02:08.As he left, Pastor McConnell thanked his supporters and said
:02:09. > :02:14.he would continue to spread the word of God around the world.
:02:15. > :02:17.On Good Morning Ulster tomorrow on BBC Radio Ulster,
:02:18. > :02:19.there'll be an interview with a Muslim cleric who travelled
:02:20. > :02:24.to Belfast to support Pastor McConnell.
:02:25. > :02:27.The Rivers Agency says the level of Lough Neagh is at a 30-year high
:02:28. > :02:32.For more than a week, agency workers have been
:02:33. > :02:35.pumping water away from homes along the shore.
:02:36. > :02:36.Our agriculture and environment correspondent
:02:37. > :02:42.Several rivers converge at Derrytresk near Coalisland
:02:43. > :02:47.That's a lot of water and much of it has backed up
:02:48. > :02:53.That's meant misery for the people living in a few houses who've relied
:02:54. > :02:57.on the sandbags and pumps provided by the Rivers Agency
:02:58. > :03:02.No water has got in yet, but it has been close,
:03:03. > :03:06.as 72-year-old Jimmy Quinn explained.
:03:07. > :03:10.Only for the bags and the pumps, it would be it.
:03:11. > :03:16.It's not looking well when the swans are going by the window,
:03:17. > :03:23.Further west and in Fermanagh, the Agriculture Minister took
:03:24. > :03:26.to a tractor to navigate flooded roads that have isolated around
:03:27. > :03:30.a dozen homes at Inishroosk, near Lisnaskea.
:03:31. > :03:33.This has been the only way in and out of this community

:03:47. > :03:53.Can't get in, so I take time off work and look after her.
:03:54. > :03:56.To give you a sense of the scale of flooding,
:03:57. > :04:02.It is normally about 45 square kilometres but is now
:04:03. > :04:07.It is clear to me there are other things we need to look at
:04:08. > :04:13.In the past, in '09 some roads were raised by about a metre,
:04:14. > :04:17.now two metres in some instances but you can see those roads
:04:18. > :04:21.are underwater again, so has it been raised high enough?
:04:22. > :04:24.Those are questions for another time.
:04:25. > :04:28.For now, the people of Fermanagh and around the shores of Lough Neagh
:04:29. > :04:33.must pull together to get through the immediate difficulties.
:04:34. > :04:36.And with the prospect of more rain, there's not much sign of the roads

:05:26. > :05:28.to mark their qualification for the finals.
:05:29. > :05:32.However, that was before the Republic also qualified.
:05:33. > :05:36.That led to an SDLP motion to bring both teams to City Hall for a joint
:05:37. > :05:41.reception to honour their unique double qualification.
:05:42. > :05:44.During tonight's council meeting unionists argued the motion
:05:45. > :05:46.was a controversial gimmick and it was politicking
:05:47. > :05:50.by nationalists in the run-up to this year's elections.
:05:51. > :05:53.But the DUP and Ulster Unionist amendments were defeated
:05:54. > :06:06.Northern Ireland qualified first and the Republic qualified two weeks
:06:07. > :06:13.after, so it is about bringing people together, welcoming people it
:06:14. > :06:16.is a unique situation and we should appreciate the achievement may never
:06:17. > :06:21.be seen again. It could be more appropriate to write to England,
:06:22. > :06:27.Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, congratulating
:06:28. > :06:32.all teams on qualifying because to try to hold any event, logistically
:06:33. > :06:36.that will be difficult. There are people in Belfast that support the
:06:37. > :06:41.Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and support both. We were
:06:42. > :06:44.disappointed that some politicians use this to make political gains but
:06:45. > :06:50.are delighted that tolerance and common sense revealed. The final
:06:51. > :06:56.details of the invitations are still to be worked out, but the closer we
:06:57. > :06:59.get to the finals in France, it would appear that there will be less
:07:00. > :07:01.likelihood of getting both teams together at City Hall.

:07:30. > :07:37.The rain has eased off for most of us and it will be a dry if chilly
:07:38. > :07:40.night. Temperatures in the countryside will fall to below
:07:41. > :07:46.freezing. For some of us tomorrow morning there may be a hatcher
:07:47. > :07:51.frost, also fog which may cause visibility issues first thing.
:07:52. > :07:56.Tomorrow there will be heavy rain later in the day but to begin with
:07:57. > :08:00.we expect a dry start for much of us, maybe the odd patch of wet
:08:01. > :08:05.weather across Antrim and County Down, not commenting too much, in
:08:06. > :08:10.fact it is a good start to the day, maybe boggy conditions in the Irish
:08:11. > :08:15.Midlands, not bad for England and Wales but up on the east coast we
:08:16. > :08:21.see showers and for western Scotland much better. Across Ireland it will
:08:22. > :08:27.go downhill as the next band of rain pushes in by mid afternoon, reaching
:08:28. > :08:31.Northern Ireland around tea-time and eventually that will push its way
:08:32. > :08:37.across all places. Some of it will be heavy and last for up to nine
:08:38. > :08:42.hours in places, so the Met Office has issued a weather warning, there
:08:43. > :08:48.could be flooding and disruption. Most of that will clear away in time
:08:49. > :08:50.for Thursday, it may be a cold day but drier and sunshine to look
:08:51. > :08:54.forward to but also scattered showers. It will be a similar
