:00:53. > :00:59.He refused to stand up and didn't say anything in reaction.

:01:09. > :01:13.A detective sergeant told the court he could connect the accused

:01:14. > :01:18.He also said that a preliminary autopsy report said that the cause

:01:19. > :01:21.of death was a blood clot due to deep-vein thrombosis

:01:26. > :01:28.A defence solicitor said a second autopsy would be carried out

:04:38. > :04:42.Responding to questions by counsel for the coroner, Mr Anderson said

:04:46. > :04:51."How did you destroy your journals?" he was asked.

:04:52. > :04:55."By burning and shredding them", he said.

:04:56. > :04:57."The rules require you to keep notes for ten

:05:11. > :05:14.threat, he was moving house and it was decided that destroying

:05:15. > :05:19.Robert Howard, who was widely suspected of killing

:05:20. > :05:24.Arlene Arkinson, was arrested six weeks after her disappearance.

:05:25. > :05:27.Eric Anderson said it was his decision to arrest Howard

:05:28. > :05:33.because his inquiry pointed strongly to Howard killing Arlene.

:05:34. > :05:36.He said he could not remember the reasons.

:05:37. > :05:43.Asked why Howard was not arrested earlier, Mr Anderson said

:05:44. > :05:49.he was snowed under with information and wanted to get more evidence

:05:50. > :05:51.to build a case against Howard and get him

:05:52. > :05:55.Howard was later released and freed to go.

:05:56. > :05:57.Mr Anderson was asked if he had any concerns about this.

:05:58. > :06:00."It was the only decision open to us", he said.

:06:01. > :06:02.It also emerged that the then Chief Constable, Sir Hugh Annesley,

:06:03. > :06:05.ordered a search of the home and garden of Kathleen Arkinson,
