:00:09. > :00:14.A teenager has been wounded in the second shooting to be carried

:00:15. > :00:21.The 17-year-old was found in Carlisle Square in the New Lodge

:00:22. > :00:27.It's understood his injuries are not life-threatening.

:00:28. > :00:30.Early this morning, a man in his twenties suffered

:00:31. > :00:33.several wounds to his body when he was shot in an alleyway

:00:34. > :00:40.between Sheridan Street and Donore Court in the New Lodge area.

:00:41. > :00:48.Political negotiations on a programme for Government for

:00:49. > :00:51.the new Northern Ireland Executive are to begin tomorrow morning.

:00:52. > :00:53.With the expected re-appointment of the First and Deputy First Ministers

:00:54. > :00:56.this week, the rest of the Executive's line-up has yet

:00:57. > :00:58.to be announced, with eight departmental posts to be filled.

:00:59. > :01:01.BBC Newsline's Mark Simpson looks at the state of the parties

:01:02. > :01:11.The first meeting of the new Assembly is not until

:01:12. > :01:15.The first meeting of the new inside here, we can get a really

:01:16. > :01:22.good idea of what it is going to look like. The largest party, the

:01:23. > :01:27.DUP, 38 seats again. As for Sinn Fein, 28 seats this time, that is

:01:28. > :01:34.one down on five years ago. As for the other parties, the Ulster

:01:35. > :01:39.Unionist stay on 16. The FDL PR down a two on 12. The Alliance Party stay

:01:40. > :01:43.at eight seats and the Green Party have doubled their representation to

:01:44. > :01:48.two, people before profit, the new kids on the block, they have two

:01:49. > :01:52.seats and the TUV leader Jim Allister is back as is the

:01:53. > :01:58.Independent, Claire Sugden. This is the state of the parties in the new

:01:59. > :02:02.Stormont 2016. But the -- but how would all be seats translate into

:02:03. > :02:08.seats at the Executive table? Let us have a look. As you can see, there

:02:09. > :02:13.are now fewer seats around the Executive table because there are

:02:14. > :02:18.fewer departments. But Arlene Foster is back and Mark -- Martin

:02:19. > :02:23.McGuinness is back as Deputy first Mr. The DUP will have three other

:02:24. > :02:27.ministries, Sinn Fein will have two. The Ulster Unionists will be

:02:28. > :02:32.entitled to one and the SDLP will be entitled to one. Will they take

:02:33. > :02:36.them? If they decide not to and go into opposition, their seats will go

:02:37. > :02:41.to other parties. We have won a spare seat and it is unlikely to go

:02:42. > :02:44.to the Alliance Party, that is the justice ministry, it was handed to

:02:45. > :02:46.the Alliance Party last time in a cross community vote and we think

:02:47. > :02:51.that is likely to happen a cross community vote and we think

:02:52. > :02:54.Here is the possible shape of the new Executive table. Of course we

:02:55. > :02:59.don't know yet which party will take which minister, will be health,

:03:00. > :02:59.don't know yet which party will take that Arlene Foster will have the

:03:00. > :03:04.first choosing. Our Political Correspondent

:03:05. > :03:18.Gareth Gordon reports. I came by car here today

:03:19. > :03:37.and one of the reasons is This pair are old foes from days

:03:38. > :03:45.I will be pursuing. Personally, I don't think

:03:46. > :03:55.wearing a tie makes you a So I'm pretty relaxed

:03:56. > :04:02.about it, but I'll go with the flow in terms of the team

:04:03. > :04:05.and we will discuss it and see whether they ask for real

:04:06. > :04:07.change and then we'll David McNarry never joined the Army.

:04:08. > :04:29.was being shown the Rather, he just did not

:04:30. > :04:31.stand for election. But there's a handy guide

:04:32. > :04:33.showing those who did I'll be sitting in between

:04:34. > :04:37.Eamon McCann and Jim Allister, so I will need to learn

:04:38. > :04:40.that the ropes really fast to This new Sinn Fein MLA

:04:41. > :04:44.was a research scientist in agriculture and food before becoming

:04:45. > :04:47.a full-time politician. One of the things I did

:04:48. > :04:50.during my campaign was publish a strategy for the Causeway

:04:51. > :04:53.area and it is about looking at development of the indigenous

:04:54. > :04:56.industry that's there and expanding

:04:57. > :04:59.on that, so that's something

:05:00. > :05:01.I'll be pushing. So will all this new blood

:05:02. > :05:05.help improve relations? Whenever I talk to people

:05:06. > :05:07.on the doorsteps, they said they wanted a different

:05:08. > :05:11.type of politics, they were sick of what was going on years

:05:12. > :05:14.ago in Stormont, when it was a lot They want to see a new

:05:15. > :05:25.generation of politicians The flag of the EU is

:05:26. > :05:28.flying over the building today to mark Europe Day,

:05:29. > :05:31.a reminder that one election may be over, but another poll

:05:32. > :05:40.is just around the corner. Cue the Assembly's biggest party and

:05:41. > :05:42.the only one who wants to leave the EU.

:05:43. > :05:45.If we look at the issues raised on the doorsteps with us,

:05:46. > :05:47.it really did confirm we took absolutely the right position in

:05:48. > :06:00.A soldier originally from Carrickfergus has died

:06:01. > :06:02.after he was assaulted in Wales yesterday.

:06:03. > :06:04.Private Matthew Boyd who was 20, was found unconscious in Brecon.

:06:05. > :06:07.A 23-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder and

:06:08. > :06:12.Matthew Boyd served in the Royal Gibraltar Regiment.

:06:13. > :06:13.His family moved there from Carrickfergus when

:06:14. > :06:18.It is understood he still has relatives here.

:06:19. > :06:19.Private Boyd was there for a training

:06:20. > :06:23.exercise and in the early hours of yesterday morning, he was assaulted

:06:24. > :06:29.He was found unconscious and later died

:06:30. > :06:32.The police arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of

:06:33. > :06:34.murder yesterday and a second man aged 22 was

:06:35. > :06:42.There is nothing to suggest that Matthew Boyd, being a

:06:43. > :06:44.soldier, was any motivation for this assault.

:06:45. > :06:47.Nor is there any indication that this is linked to an

:06:48. > :06:54.The Ministry of Defence said in a statement that its thoughts

:06:55. > :06:56.were with the family, friends and the Regiment of Private Boyd

:06:57. > :06:58.and asked that their privacy is respected

:06:59. > :07:08.An environmental protestor climbed on top of a drill being transported

:07:09. > :07:10.to an exploratory oil well earlier today and stayed there

:07:11. > :07:13.The site is at Woodburn forrest near Carrickfergus.

:07:14. > :07:22.Our North East reporter Sara Girvin was there for BBC Newsline.

:07:23. > :07:30.The police were expecting a protest today, but they weren't expecting

:07:31. > :07:34.this. Just after 10am this man climbed a drill part headed forward

:07:35. > :07:38.burn forest and said he had bought enough supplies to stay there for

:07:39. > :07:41.two days. This is the first protest that would burn. Crowds had been

:07:42. > :07:46.gathering cases of February, worried that drilling may pollute drinking

:07:47. > :07:51.water in thousands of homes in the area. But Northern Ireland Water who

:07:52. > :07:55.leased the site said they are confident there is no threats.

:07:56. > :07:59.Speaking to the BBC from behind a police barricade, Mark Chapman

:08:00. > :08:03.described his decision to climb the drill as a spur of the moment and

:08:04. > :08:06.said he had a bicycle lock with him on the police attempted to remove

:08:07. > :08:13.him from the drill, he would chain himself to it. But just before 3pm

:08:14. > :08:19.after negotiating with the PSNI, the 57-year-old changed his mind and let

:08:20. > :08:26.the drill of his own accord. He was arrested on... And released on bail.

:08:27. > :08:31.He said he had no regrets. Committing a small crime like this

:08:32. > :08:36.to prevent the larger crime of environmental damage will stop

:08:37. > :08:42.slowly but surely, behind a group of protesters and amid a heavy police

:08:43. > :08:45.presence, the drill midis drill -- its way to the forest. This

:08:46. > :08:49.particular part of the campaign may not have lasted as long as Chapman

:08:50. > :08:50.would have liked, but as you can see, the protest here at Woodburn

:08:51. > :08:53.continues. A man has been remanded in custody

:08:54. > :08:56.charged with attempting to murder a police officer who discovered

:08:57. > :08:58.a bomb under his car 35-year-old Sean McVeigh

:08:59. > :09:02.from Victoria Street in Lurgan is also accused of possessing semtex

:09:03. > :09:04.explosive with intent His lawyer said there was no

:09:05. > :09:22.forensic evidence or no DNA evidence Irish language speakers have held a

:09:23. > :09:26.demonstration outside the BBC in Belfast. It was organised in protest

:09:27. > :09:31.as water spokesman called the BBC's disregard for Irish language issues.

:09:32. > :09:33.A statement on the corporation says BBC Northern Ireland has produced a

:09:34. > :09:37.range of Irish language content across television, radio and online,

:09:38. > :09:39.which reflects commitment is detailed in the BBC's current

:09:40. > :09:40.charter arrangements. A special anniversary

:09:41. > :09:42.dinner was held tonight at Belfast City Hall to mark

:09:43. > :09:44.the Northern Ireland football team that played in the 1986

:09:45. > :09:46.World Cup in Mexico. That was the last time the side

:09:47. > :09:49.qualified for a major The current squad are preparing for

:09:50. > :09:54.the European Championships in June. The tournament in '86 held special

:09:55. > :09:57.memories for one man in particular, playing against Brazil in his last

:09:58. > :10:21.match and on his 41st birthday. All the games leading up to the

:10:22. > :10:25.qualifier, so, just to qualify together in the first place was an

:10:26. > :10:29.unbelievable achievement for us and then of course to finish up playing

:10:30. > :10:35.against Brazil on my 41st birthday, I mean, I couldn't have dreamt up

:10:36. > :10:41.about. Is nice to see them all again and it will give our players a sense

:10:42. > :10:45.of achievement for what they've managed to achieve so far. But I

:10:46. > :10:52.thin the important thing for us is to focus on the tournament and we

:10:53. > :10:56.want to write our own legacy. They've been very successful in

:10:57. > :11:00.qualification and the key now is to continue with that and make sure

:11:01. > :11:02.we're not just going out to participate, but to raise some more

:11:03. > :11:03.memories. A look ahead now to a story on BBC

:11:04. > :11:05.Newsline tomorrow. With the details, here's our

:11:06. > :11:12.north-west reporter, Keiron Tourish. I'm here at Old Trafford following

:11:13. > :11:15.the journey of one young lad from Strabane he who certainly had all

:11:16. > :11:20.the talent and potential to make it big at the Theatre of dreams. But

:11:21. > :11:27.injury halted his career and he tragically lost his life at the age

:11:28. > :11:28.of 26. That is the Adrian Doherty story on BBC Newsline.

:11:29. > :11:30.Keiron will also details on BBC Radio ulster

:11:31. > :11:32.on Good Morning Ulster and on our news website.

:11:33. > :11:34.The weather was VERY kind to us today.

:11:35. > :11:40.like this little one in Ballycastle, who took

:11:41. > :11:45.Although it was still a working day for most of us.

:11:46. > :11:55.A good day for a bit of harvesting on this farm in Carrickfergus.

:11:56. > :12:01.Hello, good evening. What a glorious start to the week. The warmest day

:12:02. > :12:04.of the year so far and temperatures into the mid-20s out towards the

:12:05. > :12:08.West. It will probably be the warmest day of the week as well,

:12:09. > :12:11.because the temperatures are trending downwards. By the end of

:12:12. > :12:16.the week they will be close at average. There are showers tells

:12:17. > :12:21.midweek, but a lot of dry weather in the forecast and occasional spells

:12:22. > :12:24.of sunshine. Tonight, dry with clear spells, not to chilly, 8-9 in the

:12:25. > :12:29.countryside, most police are sitting in double figures and tomorrow,

:12:30. > :12:33.another fine day, maybe a bit more high cloud around, making the

:12:34. > :12:36.sunshine a bit hazy. The most part strike, the exception being parts of

:12:37. > :12:40.the South and south-east which could get the odd shower. Generally

:12:41. > :12:45.speaking, it is cloudy across the public of Ireland, sharp showers

:12:46. > :12:48.here and pretty wet across England and Wales, heavy, thundery rain

:12:49. > :12:52.likely which could lead to localised flooding, the best weather will be

:12:53. > :12:55.in the northern half of the country, lots of sunshine for Scotland, but

:12:56. > :12:58.feeling cool along those North Sea coasts with that easterly breeze, so

:12:59. > :13:05.the warmest averages will be towards the West. That includes Northern

:13:06. > :13:08.Ireland, 60 had 17 on the east coast, but that is still above

:13:09. > :13:15.average. Inland Debord is not as high, but should still reach a

:13:16. > :13:19.respectable 21-22d. If you're in the sun for any length of time, UV

:13:20. > :13:24.levels are high. Keep the sun cream handy. Wednesday, cloudy and breezy,

:13:25. > :13:27.then showery, then turns a dryer on Thursday and Friday.
