:00:15. > :00:24.We can go live now to our reporter Stephen Watson, who is at the event.

:00:25. > :00:35.The rider has still not been named. He was making his debut at this

:00:36. > :00:39.event. The incident happened on the coast road during the third lap of

:00:40. > :00:44.the fourth race of the day. I understand that rider was alive at

:00:45. > :00:51.the scene but paramedics were unable to save his life. I'm joined by

:00:52. > :00:55.former North West 200 winner, a lot like Colin. A tragic end to the

:00:56. > :01:02.race. It was a wonderful meeting this morning, the sun was out, a

:01:03. > :01:08.record crowd, records were being broken and for this to happen, it's

:01:09. > :01:12.just a sad end to a meeting that was going to be another great one.

:01:13. > :01:17.You've been involved in the sport for a long time. The riders know the

:01:18. > :01:23.risks. This young man has paid the ultimate price and he was a rising

:01:24. > :01:29.star. We know before we go out, we know there is a risk and that is

:01:30. > :01:33.usually not as great as this. You fall off, you get if you broken

:01:34. > :01:38.bones, you pick yourself up and get going again but unfortunately there

:01:39. > :01:43.is a possibility that things could end up in their fertility. We all

:01:44. > :01:47.know we take that risk that we hope that ever happened to us or any of

:01:48. > :01:52.our close friends. Philip, thank you. The North West 200 races today

:01:53. > :01:55.abandoned because of a fertility. A 51-year-old man has been remanded

:02:06. > :02:09.from Belfast Magistrate's Court. A detective told the court

:02:10. > :02:12.that the man who was shot has identified Paul Francis Magee

:02:13. > :02:24.as his attacker. He made the acidification in an

:02:25. > :02:26.interview with the police before going into surgery.

:02:27. > :02:28.The police officer also told the court that Mr Magee,

:02:29. > :02:31.from Knutsford Drive in Belfast, had refused to answer any

:02:32. > :02:33.questions about the shooting, which was carried out early

:02:34. > :02:36.on Monday morning in this alleyway off the Antrim Road.

:02:37. > :02:38.He also said the gun used in the attack still hasn't been found.

:02:39. > :02:40.The paramilitary-style shooting in the alleyway,

:02:41. > :02:44.which is between Sheridan Street and Donore Court, was one of three

:02:45. > :02:50.Among them was the murder of Dan Murray, who was gunned down

:02:51. > :02:53.while making a takeaway delivery on Lady Street

:02:54. > :02:59.Police believe he had been lured to the area by a bogus call.

:03:00. > :03:02.After his murder and the two other shootings on the same day,

:03:03. > :03:05.and following the murder last month of Michael McGibbon,

:03:06. > :03:07.who was shot in Ardoyne, there was a gathering

:03:08. > :03:09.in West Belfast to protest against paramilitary

:03:42. > :03:47.Michaella McCollum has not yet returned to Northern Ireland.

:04:23. > :04:26.round at the Players Championship at Sawgrass in Florida.

:04:46. > :04:47.Now finally onto the weather forecast for the rest

:04:48. > :04:54.of the weekend, and here's Barra Best.

:04:55. > :05:01.If you have in the early spring blooms you might want to protect

:05:02. > :05:05.them as we could see a slight frost I'd tomorrow morning, but for most

:05:06. > :05:10.of us we should stay at four or 5 degrees. A chilly start to Sunday

:05:11. > :05:16.that it will be dry and there will be some sun, a little heat,

:05:17. > :05:21.especially inland. There will be a little more cloud tomorrow so not as

:05:22. > :05:25.clear blue skies as today but still not bad and across-the-board it's

:05:26. > :05:29.similar with plenty of sunshine, the odd risk of a shower in eastern

:05:30. > :05:34.areas, maybe one or two across Munster but overall dry and

:05:35. > :05:40.temperatures will be average for the time of year. As we get into the

:05:41. > :05:44.second part of the day, there will be some cloud but still dry if

:05:45. > :05:49.you're heading to Brewster Park for the Fermanagh and and from game,

:05:50. > :05:53.towards the north coast temperatures will be ten or 11 degrees but

:05:54. > :05:59.further inland we are looking at 14 or 15. A chilly night overnight into

:06:00. > :06:04.Monday that it will be much like tomorrow, a fair amount of cloud,

:06:05. > :06:10.the odd risk of an isolated shower late in the day for eastern counties

:06:11. > :06:17.that temperatures reaching 12, maybe 14 degrees, a good amount of cloud

:06:18. > :06:22.but also sunshine. On Tuesday grey skies moved in, bringing patchy rain

:06:23. > :06:24.and it will stay unsettled on Wednesday, so for the time being

:06:25. > :06:25.enjoy the dry weather. BBC Newsline will be back
