:00:00. > :00:11.The father of a 20-year-old who lost his life competing

:00:12. > :00:14.at the North West 200 has paid a moving tribute to his son,

:00:15. > :00:20.Malachi Mitchell Thomas, who was from Chorley in England,

:00:21. > :00:24.died after crashing in the Supertwin Race yesterday.

:00:25. > :00:26.His father now plans to scatter his ashes

:00:27. > :00:42.He was one of the brightest prospects in road racing. This week

:00:43. > :00:46.was seen as the next major step in his career. However, the sport has

:00:47. > :00:54.again been marred by tragedy and left the father devastated. I've

:00:55. > :00:59.lost my best friend, lost my son, but he died doing what he wanted to

:01:00. > :01:03.do. He lived for riding, he had raced since he was six years old,

:01:04. > :01:08.he'd taken to the roads and the crowds had taken to him, he was a

:01:09. > :01:13.fantastic personality, not a bad bone in his body and no one has a

:01:14. > :01:16.bad word to say about him. I want to thank the paramedics for trying to

:01:17. > :01:21.save him at the roadside and the organisers for putting on a

:01:22. > :01:27.fantastic event. The information that came out, the way they helped

:01:28. > :01:37.me when things went wrong... It was a great event and it was saddened by

:01:38. > :01:40.his loss. I will be going to the TT and scattering his ashes on the

:01:41. > :01:45.course which is what he wanted me to do. My boy died at 20 but made a

:01:46. > :01:52.massive impact on people's lives, everybody who met him, they all knew

:01:53. > :01:57.who he was. When you see a kid like that, long curly hair, picture of

:01:58. > :02:03.life, picture of happiness, just got the break he don't desperately

:02:04. > :02:08.needed, honestly, the world at his feet in terms of road racing... He's

:02:09. > :02:15.the brightest star I have seen in the sport for five years, to emerge,

:02:16. > :02:20.and I had him earmarked for the very top. He would have been an absolute

:02:21. > :02:23.legend had he stayed safe. Tributes continue to be paid at the scene of

:02:24. > :02:26.the crash in Portrush. A 19-year-old man from Kilrea has

:02:27. > :02:28.died after a road crash He was the pillion

:02:29. > :02:31.passenger on a motorbike which was involved in a collision

:02:32. > :02:34.with a lorry on the Agivey Road The rider of the bike was taken

:02:35. > :02:40.to hospital with serious injuries. An explosive device has been

:02:41. > :02:46.found during a security The Glendun Road in Cushendun

:02:47. > :02:49.was closed for a time. Police say the "viable" explosive

:02:50. > :02:56.has been taken away for examination. In GAA, it was a winning start

:02:57. > :02:59.for Fermanagh in the preliminary round of the Ulster Championship

:03:00. > :03:08.against Antrim. Fermanagh has now booked

:03:09. > :03:09.a quarter-final place. From the game,

:03:10. > :03:16.Thomas Niblock reports. It is the start of the Ulster

:03:17. > :03:20.Championships but began with a whimper rather than a bank because

:03:21. > :03:25.in truth Fermanagh were in control for the whole 70 minutes,

:03:26. > :03:30.particularly in the first half, very impressive. Much the same after the

:03:31. > :03:35.break, Fermanagh in control, but in the final ten minutes Antrim came

:03:36. > :03:39.back with just three points between the sides. Sean Quigley goal

:03:40. > :03:43.extended Fermanagh's lead and they are through to the quarterfinal of

:03:44. > :03:48.the championship where they play Donegal in the next round. Antrim

:03:49. > :03:52.going to the qualifiers. The final score, Antrim nine - 12 Fermanagh.

:03:53. > :03:55.Now details of a story we will be bringing you this

:03:56. > :04:04.The Islamic community is one of the fastest-growing in Northern Ireland,

:04:05. > :04:12.but what is like former is an here? We hear about the challenges facing

:04:13. > :04:19.young Muslims, ask what his like to be a Muslim woman in Northern

:04:20. > :04:23.Ireland, and explore the ancient sectarian divide, Sony is and Shia.

:04:24. > :04:27.Time for the weather prospects now with Barra Best.

:04:28. > :04:35.The weather has been playing all weekend, plenty of dry weather. More

:04:36. > :04:39.of that to come that it will not last long. Tonight it will be dry

:04:40. > :04:43.but a bit on the chilly side where the sky clears, temperatures could

:04:44. > :04:47.fall close to freezing allowing for a slight frost but many towns and

:04:48. > :04:51.cities should stay around 5 degrees. For some chill in the air tomorrow

:04:52. > :04:56.but it will be dry, unfortunately the last dry day for a while. After

:04:57. > :05:01.that turning more unsettled from Tuesday on as low-pressure move them

:05:02. > :05:04.from the Atlantic. To begin tomorrow, perhaps a chill in the

:05:05. > :05:10.air, cloud around but like today it will break at with sunny gaps, and a

:05:11. > :05:14.light north-westerly wind. Travelling tomorrow, not a bad

:05:15. > :05:18.picture across Britain and Ireland. Most of the cloud in more northern

:05:19. > :05:22.areas, south of that, largely brighter day with more sunny gaps,

:05:23. > :05:26.temperatures toward south-eastern England close to 20 degrees, cooler

:05:27. > :05:30.and fresher further north and West but temperatures about normal for

:05:31. > :05:35.the time of year for many of us. Inland for us we are looking at

:05:36. > :05:41.about 15, maybe 16 at best for parts of Tyrone and Fermanagh, but towards

:05:42. > :05:45.the coast with the breeze struggling to 11 or 12 degrees. A largely dry

:05:46. > :05:51.day with chances of a few showers later in the day, but they will be

:05:52. > :05:55.hit and miss and well isolated and not for everyone. Dry tomorrow

:05:56. > :05:59.evening, another cool night into Tuesday, which will get off to a dry

:06:00. > :06:04.start, but it won't last long. Low pressure moving in, and with that,

:06:05. > :06:09.and out-brakes of rain later in the day, but we also bring in

:06:10. > :06:13.south-westerly winds which will be dry. Temperatures getting to 14 or

:06:14. > :06:17.15 degrees despite cloud and wet weather. We hold onto temperatures

:06:18. > :06:26.in the mid teens through the week but would low pressure in control,

:06:27. > :06:28.cloudy at times with further wet weather. We will keep an eye on

:06:29. > :06:30.things and keep you up-to-date. Stay tuned to the forecast. That's it

:06:31. > :06:30.from us. Our next BBC Newsline

:06:31. > :06:32.bulletin is at 6:25am. Until then, you can keep up to date

:06:33. > :06:35.with local news on BBC Radio Ulster
