:00:00. > :00:11.An armour piercing rocket and anti-personnel mines

:00:12. > :00:16.were in a terrorist cache discovered in a wood near Larne at the weekend.

:00:17. > :00:19.The police say the haul in Capanagh Forest was found

:00:20. > :00:24.by walkers and that dissident republicans were behind it.

:00:25. > :00:27.Another terrorist hide was found near Larne a few months ago.

:00:28. > :00:32.Our North-East reporter Sara Girvin has more.

:00:33. > :00:35.In Capanagh Forest, a dense wood in the hills above Larne was hiding

:00:36. > :00:37.what police are describing as one of the most significant terrorist

:00:38. > :00:44.Today, they released pictures of what had been found.

:00:45. > :00:46.In three barrels buried in the ground were an

:00:47. > :00:50.armour-piercing improvised rocket and two anti-personnel mines,

:00:51. > :00:54.along with pipe bombs, parts for other explosives,

:00:55. > :00:57.as well as ammunition for an assault rifle.

:00:58. > :01:00.The police say a number of the devices were

:01:01. > :01:04.It's the second such discovery in the area in as many months.

:01:05. > :01:08.Detectives are working to establish whether this terrorist hide

:01:09. > :01:12.is linked to another, discovered just 6 miles from here,

:01:13. > :01:15.at Carnfunnock Country Park in March.

:01:16. > :01:22.Police also put that haul on display, which they said belonged

:01:23. > :01:28.It included components used to make under-car boobie trap bombs.

:01:29. > :01:30.Earlier our Home Affairs Correspondent told me how

:01:31. > :01:37.the arms haul pointed towards dissident republicans.

:01:38. > :01:46.We have received some more detail about the level of what was in this,

:01:47. > :01:49.the sheer scale of it. In addition to the armour-piercing rocket which

:01:50. > :01:53.is of concern for obvious reasons. The police are worried about the

:01:54. > :01:57.scale of it. I'm told that the component parts like timer switches,

:01:58. > :02:01.cables and command wires, there were enough of those to make dozens of

:02:02. > :02:06.bombs and that has surprised the police. They are worried about the

:02:07. > :02:10.discovery of two mines. These are mines which could have been used

:02:11. > :02:14.against people or vehicles. I'm told the mines were not home-made, they

:02:15. > :02:18.were of military grade and that is causing a great deal of concern. The

:02:19. > :02:22.police were concerned and alarmed by the location of the find by the

:02:23. > :02:29.quantity of the find and by the quality of what they found.

:02:30. > :02:31.A 32-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder

:02:32. > :02:33.of Daniel Murray in Belfast has been released unconditionally.

:02:34. > :02:36.The 55-year-old victim was lured to his death and shot on Lady Street

:02:37. > :02:44.Two men have been arrested by detectives investigating

:02:45. > :02:46.the murder of a man at a boxing weigh-in in Dublin.

:02:47. > :02:49.David Byrne was fatally wounded when gunmen opened fire inside

:02:50. > :02:52.The death has led to several other killings

:02:53. > :02:57.A third man was arrested on Saturday in connection with the hotel gun

:02:58. > :03:07.The Alliance Party has submitted a document to the DUP and Sinn Fein

:03:08. > :03:14.with a series of demands that will determine if it takes up

:03:15. > :03:18.It would not clarify the exact demands but said the main areas

:03:19. > :03:20.of concern were set out in its election manifesto,

:03:21. > :03:24.calls for and ending of all forms of paramilitarism and building

:03:25. > :03:29.The Alliance Leader David Ford says it shouldn't be taken for granted

:03:30. > :03:36.that the party will take the Justice department again.

:03:37. > :03:43.What we will be putting forward will require specific targets to be

:03:44. > :03:47.reached, commitments to be made and delivery by certain dates. And

:03:48. > :03:52.certainly, if that delivery is not made, then that, you know, an

:03:53. > :03:55.alliance minister will not remain in post.

:03:56. > :03:57.Aer Lingus is closing the majority of its 86 posts

:03:58. > :04:00.Most employees will be offered redeployment to Dublin.

:04:01. > :04:03.20 cabin staff are remaining in Belfast following a review

:04:04. > :04:08.Aer Lingus said the staffing changes are being made for efficiency

:04:09. > :04:15.reasons with no impact on its flights from Belfast.

:04:16. > :04:17.There have been calls for the Ulster Unionist leader

:04:18. > :04:20.to apologise for posting a message on social media which quoted

:04:21. > :04:22.the Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels.

:04:23. > :04:25.Mike Nesbitt was responding to allegations that he had sought

:04:26. > :04:27.public money to build a mosque in Belfast.

:04:28. > :04:33.Our Political Correspondent Enda McClafferty reports.

:04:34. > :04:36.Mike Nesbitt found himself in the middle of a protest today

:04:37. > :04:41.He joined students at Queen's this morning as they protested against

:04:42. > :04:46.But he was also at centre of an online protest

:04:47. > :04:50.because of what he posted on Twitter last night.

:04:51. > :04:53.He was hitting back at those who accused him of wanting to use

:04:54. > :04:55.public funds to build a new mosque in Belfast.

:04:56. > :05:01.But he went a step further and used a quote from the Nazi Propaganda

:05:02. > :05:04.Minister Joseph Goobbels to make his point.

:05:05. > :05:09.And that provoked an angry reaction from some of his online followers.

:05:10. > :05:12.Some even compared the post to comments made recently

:05:13. > :05:14.by Boris Johnson when he linked the aims of the EU

:05:15. > :05:20.The Alliance Party said Mike Nesbitt should have thought more carefully

:05:21. > :05:26.For me, I consider this to be an ill judged use and particularly

:05:27. > :05:30.the attachment of a photograph as well means that there was some

:05:31. > :05:35.I think he should apologise, and there is a range of people

:05:36. > :05:38.who he needs to apologise to, in relation to the raising

:05:39. > :05:44.of the spectre of the Nazis and Goebbels.

:05:45. > :05:46.But there was no sign of an apology from the Ulster

:05:47. > :05:52.In fact, he wasn't up for talking about his tweet.

:05:53. > :05:55.The point I was making is that on social media it is very

:05:56. > :05:58.easy to spin a lie, the way the Nazis did.

:05:59. > :06:09.Unlike other political leaders who have found themselves

:06:10. > :06:11.at the centre of a Twitter storm, Mike Nesbit hasn't taken down

:06:12. > :06:14.the offending tweet and it remains to be seen if there will

:06:15. > :06:18.But what he may have done is make other politicians out

:06:19. > :06:29.A 31-year-old man has been charged in connection with the discovery

:06:30. > :06:32.of around ?75,000 worth of illegal drugs in a house on Belmont

:06:33. > :06:40.A 21-year-old man has been released on bail.

:06:41. > :06:43.14 of our busiest libraries are facing cuts to their opening

:06:44. > :06:47.While the plan is being put out for public consultation,

:06:48. > :06:49.our Education Correspondent Robbie Meredith looks at the

:06:50. > :06:53.Is a chapter closing for some of our libraries?

:06:54. > :06:57.Libraries NI plan to cut the opening hours at 14 libraries in all.

:06:58. > :07:00.Belfast Central, Bangor Carnegie, Derry Central, Lisburn City

:07:01. > :07:04.and Omagh libraries will open for the equivalent of

:07:05. > :07:10.Nine other libraries will open for five fewer hours a week.

:07:11. > :07:13.We have ?2.173 million less now than we had this time last year.

:07:14. > :07:18.So we're having to take a range of measures.

:07:19. > :07:21.We've cut our stock budget, we're cutting our maintenance

:07:22. > :07:31.We're cutting a whole range of administration,

:07:32. > :07:32.miscellaneous budgets and unfortunately we're having

:07:33. > :07:35.to cut the opening hours of our largest libraries.

:07:36. > :07:40.It is popular, and plans to reduce its opening hours aren't.

:07:41. > :07:42.You can't do everything online and it is good.

:07:43. > :07:53.I just sometimes come and take out a book or come and sit and revise

:07:54. > :07:56.You see a lot of the older generation coming

:07:57. > :08:00.It is a brilliant outlet to come here and socialise, have a cup

:08:01. > :08:03.of coffee and then use the internet when they can.

:08:04. > :08:06.Meanwhile, Belfast Central Library has stood on the city's Royal Avenue

:08:07. > :08:08.But that history won't save it from cuts.

:08:09. > :08:11.I would be devastated if it is going to close.

:08:12. > :08:14.I don't have to think about it and it is a real lifeline for me

:08:15. > :08:16.because I don't have a computer at home.

:08:17. > :08:19.It means I can come in and use it whenever I want.

:08:20. > :08:22.Libraries like this have had to change what they do in recent

:08:23. > :08:25.decades, but the number of people using them here has actually risen.

:08:26. > :08:27.Despite that increase though, for some of them, time

:08:28. > :08:34.After a search lasting almost 30 years a woman in Ballinamallard has

:08:35. > :08:43.Lesley Fagan's sister had been given up for adoption in England.

:08:44. > :08:49.The pair have been talking to our South West reporter Julian

:08:50. > :08:59.A nervous wait and then a tearful reunion.

:09:00. > :09:04.The moment when the long search for her sister came to an end.

:09:05. > :09:06.Their mother was Hilda Williamson who came from a strict

:09:07. > :09:13.She hid her pregnancy from her father.

:09:14. > :09:25.She bound herself up tight and booked herself

:09:26. > :09:32.into a Catholic maternity home in Prestwich in Manchester.

:09:33. > :09:36.I said to my mum, "Do you ever think about her?"

:09:37. > :09:50.She spent six weeks with her daughter before she signed

:09:51. > :09:53.the adoption papers, but crucially had seen the name

:09:54. > :09:56.and address of the new parents, names she never forgot, and,

:09:57. > :09:58.years later, she told Leslie, who promised she would

:09:59. > :10:04.Joan had moved with her new family to Australia.

:10:05. > :10:09.My mum, although she never told me, all my life,

:10:10. > :10:19.I would ask her where I came from and things like that,

:10:20. > :10:22.when I was born, and how come when she lost so many

:10:23. > :10:30.She would say to me, "Because you are chosen to survive."

:10:31. > :10:34.You were chosen. So I was their chosen child.

:10:35. > :10:37.When I was little, it did not strike me as anything,

:10:38. > :10:41.When she moved to Ballinamallard last year, Leslie put

:10:42. > :10:46.With the help of two genealogists, within a week,

:10:47. > :10:50.After 60 years apart, two sisters were brought

:10:51. > :11:01.We were just waiting so long for this bonding hug.

:11:02. > :11:07.I think the hug lasted more about two minutes, three minutes.

:11:08. > :11:10.We just stared into each others eyes and it is like just reading minds

:11:11. > :11:29.Celtic Football club which is looking to appoint

:11:30. > :11:33.a new manager has been in talks with Brendan Rodgers.

:11:34. > :11:36.The Carnlough man has been out of work since October of last year

:11:37. > :11:38.when he was replaced as Liverpool boss.

:11:39. > :11:41.Celtic has yet to make any official comment.

:11:42. > :11:44.On BBC Newsline tomorrow evening we have the second part

:11:45. > :11:47.in our series of reports on Muslims in Northern Ireland.

:11:48. > :11:49.While there is an ancient sectarian divide between Sunni

:11:50. > :11:51.and Shia communities, we see how they share

:11:52. > :11:56.That's tomorrow on BBC Newsline at 6.30pm.

:11:57. > :12:01.The weather forecast is next Cecilia Daly.

:12:02. > :12:07.Hello. Good evening a bit of rain fell on our gardens today and there

:12:08. > :12:11.will be some more rain at times over the next few days, but a lot of

:12:12. > :12:15.places will become dry tonight. Just the odd shower in the west. Despite

:12:16. > :12:19.clearing skies, it won't be a cold night. Quite mild compared to recent

:12:20. > :12:23.nights. There maybe some mist and low cloud around for a short time

:12:24. > :12:27.tomorrow, but otherwise, we should see some decent weather. Probably

:12:28. > :12:30.the best day of the next few. So some sunshine developing tomorrow

:12:31. > :12:34.morning. One or two showers mainly up towards the north coast, but a

:12:35. > :12:37.lot of places will be dry and it looks like a lot of fine weather for

:12:38. > :12:41.the Republic of Ireland too. There is the rain though. It is stuck. It

:12:42. > :12:51.is slow moving across Scotland and many parts of England and there will

:12:52. > :12:54.be heavy bursts mixed up as well. So Northern Ireland enjoying some of

:12:55. > :12:58.the best weather across the UK and Ireland tomorrow. Cooler and fresher

:12:59. > :13:02.towards the north coast with the breeze coming in off the sea, but

:13:03. > :13:07.temperatures in Belfast and County Down reaching 16 Celsius. Tomorrow

:13:08. > :13:10.is looking the best of the next few. Thursday onwards unsettled at times

:13:11. > :13:13.with low pressure bringing further spells of rain and strong winds.

:13:14. > :13:16.This is Thursday's chart. We have an area of low pressure. A lot of

:13:17. > :13:20.weather fronts as well and it looks like there will be rain

:13:21. > :13:23.unfortunately for the start of the Irish Open. Some rain spilling

:13:24. > :13:27.across Northern Ireland. Some of it really quite heavy. Some blustery

:13:28. > :13:28.winds, but it should ease off later in the day. More rain and strong

:13:29. > :13:31.winds to come on Saturday.
