:00:00. > :00:13.The Agriculture and Environment Minister has defended her

:00:14. > :00:19.the DUP's Michelle McIlveen said that even if the UK stays

:00:20. > :00:21.in the European Union, farming grants may not be sustainable.

:00:22. > :00:30.She said not all farmers here want to stay in the EU.

:00:31. > :00:36.There is a mixed message, but to say that all farmers are looking to

:00:37. > :00:41.remain within the EU is not accurate. Certainly not from

:00:42. > :00:44.speaking the farmers out and about. There are a fast number feel they

:00:45. > :00:47.are caught up in bureaucracy and while there is a certain benefit

:00:48. > :00:52.with regards to the ground, whether or not that is sustainable is also a

:00:53. > :00:54.concern. So there are risks either way.

:00:55. > :00:57.A road in County Fermanagh remains closed because of a security alert.

:00:58. > :00:59.It's after a member of the public found a suspicious object

:01:00. > :01:01.on the Wattlebridge Road in Newtownbutler.

:01:02. > :01:02.Northern Ireland foootball manager Michael O'Neill today

:01:03. > :01:05.confirmed his squad for next month's Euro 2016 tournament.

:01:06. > :01:10.He announced the 23 players in front of an audience of 500

:01:11. > :01:25.The Northern Ireland manager, Michael O'Neill, said he only had a

:01:26. > :01:29.couple of tough decisions as he finalised his European Championship

:01:30. > :01:33.squad. The inclusion of the Wigan striker at the expense of another

:01:34. > :01:45.was the one he agonised over the most. The 23 Northern Ireland

:01:46. > :01:49.players were revealed in impressive style as images were projected onto

:01:50. > :01:54.the famous giant 's Causeway. After that, their qualifying group and the

:01:55. > :02:04.manager thinks his team can spring a surprise or two in France. Stephen

:02:05. > :02:08.Davis. There's obviously speculation and we had to disappoint some

:02:09. > :02:11.players this week and let them know they weren't going to be part of it.

:02:12. > :02:16.It was a relief to get that out of the way, it is never nice to do

:02:17. > :02:20.that. I set that to the players, we will have to hit new levels again,

:02:21. > :02:24.it is a challenge, but I think we are capable. Confidence is high,

:02:25. > :02:29.meant is behind us and we performed well last night. We will have a

:02:30. > :02:32.very, very difficult group, but we go there with our expectation and we

:02:33. > :02:37.will be doing everything to make sure we make it memorable. In

:02:38. > :02:38.Northern Ireland's first game is in just over a fortnight against Poland

:02:39. > :02:40.in France. A Lurgan primary school has

:02:41. > :02:42.introduced a "daily mile" into its school day,

:02:43. > :02:44.getting its pupils to walk It's aimed at improving pupils

:02:45. > :02:47.fitness. And as our Education Correspondent

:02:48. > :03:08.Robbie Meredith found out, At this school in Lurgan, the phrase

:03:09. > :03:11.school run has taken on an entirely new meaning. It has become one of

:03:12. > :03:15.the first in Northern Ireland to get its children to walk or run a mile

:03:16. > :03:21.every day. And the teachers joining, too. Lots of children take part in

:03:22. > :03:27.competitive sport and the thing about this is, it is all inclusive.

:03:28. > :03:31.Every child can participate. It is non-competitive. They cannot run the

:03:32. > :03:36.mile or lots of children are building up to it and walking a bit

:03:37. > :03:39.and jogging a bit. It takes around 15 minutes and takes place as well

:03:40. > :03:46.as normal physical education lessons and it gets him tick tick from

:03:47. > :03:55.pupils. I feel it is fun, so I do. And it's easy to do for a primary

:03:56. > :03:59.child. My mum things is a good idea. It's a beautiful day, but even when

:04:00. > :04:03.it is raining all of the school's 700 pupils come out and run and it

:04:04. > :04:07.helps the get figure. The printable says he's noticed the benefit in the

:04:08. > :04:13.classroom as well. It does reflect on their work in the day and we have

:04:14. > :04:16.seen a big improvement in the childrens' behaviour and discipline

:04:17. > :04:25.are generally in class and around school. It's good for us, for our

:04:26. > :04:28.class. We do it after lunch and there we go back in and get started

:04:29. > :04:34.bike into our work after getting fresh air and doing a mile. The idea

:04:35. > :04:37.began in Scotland and has spread to hundreds of schools there. Only a

:04:38. > :04:39.feud here have adopted it, but pupils here said they are going to

:04:40. > :04:39.keep on running. Now onto the weather forecast

:04:40. > :04:42.for the rest of the weekend, Here's Angie Philips

:04:43. > :04:56.with all the details. Hello there. For specifying and to

:04:57. > :05:01.the day, for those not quite. It's quite wet in some places and those

:05:02. > :05:03.downpours will continue this evening, particularly across the

:05:04. > :05:08.Western counties and we have a weather warning in place. A rain

:05:09. > :05:12.warning, there could be localised flooding and hail and thunder as

:05:13. > :05:17.well. They will ease off throughout the night, it will turn dry with

:05:18. > :05:22.clear spells. Mist and low cloud forming a temperature settled,

:05:23. > :05:27.between 7-10d. That takes us into tomorrow, for many, a good day. Dry

:05:28. > :05:31.weather, if you show us around though, we will see a few may be

:05:32. > :05:35.developing as the morning wears on. The low cloud lifting, bright spot

:05:36. > :05:40.was coming through and those shower starts to break out. A lots of

:05:41. > :05:43.bright weather to begin with, except perhaps the North Sea coast which

:05:44. > :05:50.could remain quite grey and cloudy with some mist in this, and feeling

:05:51. > :05:54.cool. Not bad in the south-east, 20-21d, but as the breeze picks up,

:05:55. > :05:58.it will take the edge of those values. Through the afternoon, the

:05:59. > :06:01.afternoon, the showers developing in central England, Wales, Cross

:06:02. > :06:05.Ireland into the North West of Scotland. Some could locally be

:06:06. > :06:15.quite heavy, turning into prolonged downpours. That is more likely to be

:06:16. > :06:17.the case across the Southern counties tomorrow, again, the risk

:06:18. > :06:19.of thunder, but not quite as many showers are today, temperatures

:06:20. > :06:22.getting up to 90 degrees. Bank Holiday Monday, well, no showers in

:06:23. > :06:25.the day, a dry day with highs of 19 degrees inland. It is cloudy and

:06:26. > :06:27.breezy through the middle part of next week, maybe rainy on Wednesday.

:06:28. > :06:30.BBC Newsline will be back tomorrow evening at 6:50pm.

:06:31. > :06:34.In the meantime, you can keep up to date with Radio Ulster
