:00:25. > :00:29.The firm which designs and manufactures hard drive storage

:00:30. > :00:32.devices currently has about 1,400 staff - making it one of the north

:00:33. > :00:36.It said it was undertaking a number of actions to better position

:00:37. > :00:39.There was a special send-off for the Northern Ireland

:00:40. > :00:43.They left Belfast en route to Euro 2016.

:00:44. > :00:50.Stephen Watson was there for BBC Newsline.

:00:51. > :00:55.The Northern Ireland football team has two more stops before it finally

:00:56. > :01:00.reaches France. Today the squad flew to Austria or a private chilling

:01:01. > :01:04.camp and then it's off to Slovakia for a final warm up friendly this

:01:05. > :01:07.Saturday and the following day they go to France and their European

:01:08. > :01:11.Championship race. The players checked into the airport this

:01:12. > :01:16.morning before boarding their chartered flight. It is the first

:01:17. > :01:20.time in 30 years in Northern Ireland team has jetted off to a northern

:01:21. > :01:25.Ireland finals and the manager and captain are excited about what lies

:01:26. > :01:29.ahead. I think it's great. Since the players came in, there is an edge to

:01:30. > :01:34.their training and everything. We had a nice meal together last night

:01:35. > :01:39.and it is exciting times for all the players but the focus is there as

:01:40. > :01:43.well. How real it this feel? It's starting to feel a lot more real.

:01:44. > :01:47.Delighted to make that first step and there is a real excitement about

:01:48. > :01:54.this one. What is the final message to the thousands of fans as they

:01:55. > :01:58.wish you and Welsh today? Discontinue to give us fantastic

:01:59. > :02:01.support. I have given the team a great belief today and to continue

:02:02. > :02:07.with that. The nerves were set in as well? Is only natural when the stage

:02:08. > :02:10.were playing on that be have a great belief and we want to go there and

:02:11. > :02:17.show everybody what we are about and enjoy the challenge. A special green

:02:18. > :02:23.and white spray of the aircraft completed a colourful spray as the

:02:24. > :02:24.team made their way and it is now under two weeks until the opening

:02:25. > :02:28.game. The Republic of Ireland squad have

:02:29. > :02:31.moved to Cork for a training camp ahead of their first game

:02:32. > :02:34.in the Euros a fortnight today. The manager Martin O'Neill has fresh

:02:35. > :02:37.injury concerns over Robbie Keane and Harry Arter who limped out

:02:38. > :02:41.of training this afternoon. The team play Belarus tomorrow

:02:42. > :02:44.in their final home friendly Police are treating an attack

:02:45. > :02:55.on the Republican plot in Milltown Graffiti was daubed on the plot

:02:56. > :03:00.and the 1916 Irish proclamation Damage was also caused to flower

:03:01. > :03:16.arrangements and tiles. This is incomprehensible, why this

:03:17. > :03:21.was done at this stage. Just mindless idiots who have come in and

:03:22. > :03:24.Borders was a good idea to spray paint video over memorials and I

:03:25. > :03:29.think it's a sad reflection on those people. There is no time to do that

:03:30. > :03:33.and I don't think it's a good idea. It's a disgraceful act.

:03:34. > :03:35.A court has been told that a 17-year-old boy accused

:03:36. > :03:38.of carrying out a burglary on crutches had been shot

:03:39. > :03:42.The teenager is charged with breaking into a house

:03:43. > :03:45.in north Belfast on Friday, two weeks after he was the victim

:03:46. > :03:49.A defence solicitor told Belfast Magistrates Court

:03:50. > :03:52.that the accused only went into the house after seeing the men

:03:53. > :04:01.The PSNI's dog trainers have been celebrating after one of their dogs

:04:02. > :04:04.picked up an award for the best in the UK.

:04:05. > :04:07.Our North East reporter Sara Girvin went to the police dog training unit

:04:08. > :04:14.in Antrim to find out more about what they do.

:04:15. > :04:21.This is Sam. His police career gave him a second chance at life. He was

:04:22. > :04:26.in a pound before being rescued and ended up with the PSNI where he is

:04:27. > :04:30.now a search dog. He flips out drugs, cash and firearms. But does

:04:31. > :04:35.it take to go from pet to police dog? A police dog needs to be very,

:04:36. > :04:42.very agile and very confident in himself, willing to please its

:04:43. > :04:48.owner. Sometimes he needs to be a bit nuts! Then we are able to train

:04:49. > :04:51.them into what we want to do. One. With all those skills is Mike who

:04:52. > :04:57.has been named the best police dog the UK. While he and the other dogs

:04:58. > :05:00.training here have it right to be reckoned with, their day-to-day work

:05:01. > :05:06.involves much more. Our police dogs are available 24, seven. Most of the

:05:07. > :05:12.times they would be used for searching for missing persons.

:05:13. > :05:16.People who maybe have mental health issues, and if we don't get them

:05:17. > :05:20.soon, they are open to exposure and things like that. We have found

:05:21. > :05:27.missing persons like that and save their lives. This dog is just 11

:05:28. > :05:32.months old and in training but by the time the timber comes, he will

:05:33. > :05:36.be a fully operational police dog. Police dogs and their handlers

:05:37. > :05:41.continue to serve on the front line on a daily basis. As the training of

:05:42. > :05:43.new recruits continues, they will be hoping that one day, they can be top

:05:44. > :05:47.dog. On a day like today a lot of people

:05:48. > :05:50.would have headed to the seaside. This scene could have been anywhere

:05:51. > :05:52.on the coast. But in fact this crowd enjoying

:05:53. > :05:56.the sun and sand were in Belfast. They pitched up with buckets,

:05:57. > :05:58.spades and deckchairs on the banks of the River Lagan in front

:05:59. > :06:01.of the SSE Arena. The fake seaside was set up as part

:06:02. > :06:16.of the Maritime Festival. The weather is next.

:06:17. > :06:21.It's been a stunning and holiday. There is more dry weather to camp

:06:22. > :06:24.this week, quite funny at times so it will continue to feel warm inland

:06:25. > :06:33.there will be a cooling breeze at the coast. Slightly lower

:06:34. > :06:37.temperatures but plenty of strong sunshine. A small chance of shower

:06:38. > :06:42.this evening, otherwise it is dry night. Temperatures may drop in

:06:43. > :06:46.price of the countryside and that will allow some mist and no fog for

:06:47. > :06:51.a time on Tuesday morning but that will go quickly. If this is your

:06:52. > :06:55.first day back to school or work, this is where they will hopefully

:06:56. > :06:59.ease the pain. The cloud taking a little while to clear but it will go

:07:00. > :07:04.eventually. Different story if you're heading over to the east

:07:05. > :07:08.coast of England, quite a chilly wind and also heavy, potentially

:07:09. > :07:12.thundery downpours for a while. Chilly to towards the north-east of

:07:13. > :07:17.Scotland but one of the south coast of Ireland with temperatures easily

:07:18. > :07:20.reaching the low 20s. Our highest temperatures tomorrow will be in the

:07:21. > :07:24.south away from the north coast because of the breeze keeping it

:07:25. > :07:27.that little bit colour but there is still lots of lovely warm sunshine

:07:28. > :07:35.everywhere. Tomorrow night it is dry. It will get chilly in the

:07:36. > :07:38.countryside. Wednesday will be another fine day. In the sunshine

:07:39. > :07:44.and temperatures again possibly up to 20 degrees. Probably a little bit

:07:45. > :07:48.fresher and thirsty but still a very nice day with temperatures still

:07:49. > :07:53.pitching the high teens in a lot of places and cooler towards the north

:07:54. > :07:58.Coast. A week and it will stay dry into next weekend by the looks of

:07:59. > :08:01.things. Just a member, keep the suncream handy.

:08:02. > :08:04.BBC Newsline will be back at 10:15pm.
