:00:00. > :00:09.The Ambulance Service says it's having to call in help

:00:10. > :00:11.from the voluntary and private sectors again tonight

:00:12. > :00:16.Last night the service was down twelve crews.

:00:17. > :00:21.It says part of the problem is a high level of staff sickness.

:00:22. > :00:29.It has warned there could be delays getting to non-urgent patients.

:00:30. > :00:35.The performance of the Ambulance Service is based on an eight minute

:00:36. > :00:39.response and we are not coming anywhere close to at the minute. We

:00:40. > :00:43.can assure the public we can seek to get our crews and our paramedics to

:00:44. > :00:46.the people who need it most as quickly as we can.

:00:47. > :00:48.The animal welfare charity, the USPCA, has dismissed

:00:49. > :00:50.its Chief Executive on the grounds of gross misconduct.

:00:51. > :00:52.The charity says Stephen Philpott's dismissal relates to his management

:00:53. > :01:00.The organisers of a cycling race in a forest in County Down say those

:01:01. > :01:02.who attempted to sabotage it could have caused

:01:03. > :01:07.Rocks and logs had been placed on the route and wool had been tied

:01:08. > :01:24.A safe ride today, but only thanks to observant marshals. Checking the

:01:25. > :01:28.route yesterday they discovered it was blocked with rocks and dangerous

:01:29. > :01:33.logs with spiky branches and blue wool tied between the trees. At

:01:34. > :01:37.these speeds it is not hard to imagine the kind of damage a hidden

:01:38. > :01:41.obstacle could do, much less a piece of wool stretched across the route

:01:42. > :01:47.at head height. There is a good chance somebody could have been

:01:48. > :01:56.decapitated. Our riders could be going at speeds up to 40mph. It is

:01:57. > :01:59.not the sort of thing that a person carries with them and they've spent

:02:00. > :02:06.the time dragging out the logs and the rocks under the trail. The

:02:07. > :02:10.police have said it was an unbelievably dangerous thing to do.

:02:11. > :02:11.They have appealed for anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact

:02:12. > :02:14.them. A service to mark the centenary

:02:15. > :02:18.of the Battle of the Somme has been held at St Anne's Cathedral in

:02:19. > :02:19.Belfast. Almost 1,000 people attended

:02:20. > :02:24.as Martin Cassidy reports. The Battle of the Somme is etched

:02:25. > :02:33.forever in the memory. Costing so many lives, the Battle of

:02:34. > :02:39.the Somme is etched forever in the memory. The 36th Ulster division

:02:40. > :02:44.suffered over 5,000 casualties and were awarded four Victoria Crosses

:02:45. > :02:49.for acts of gallantry. It will bring together our remembrance of the men

:02:50. > :02:53.who went over the top on 1st July with the 36th Ulster division, but

:02:54. > :02:57.we also remember the men of the 16th Irish Division who went over the top

:02:58. > :03:03.later in the battle and lost as many men. The Somme said Dean John Mann

:03:04. > :03:08.represented an appalling human catastrophe. In the first day of

:03:09. > :03:14.battle, 17 sets of brothers were killed, their names were remembered.

:03:15. > :03:18.So too, the gallantry of four local men awarded the Victoria Cross.

:03:19. > :03:23.Northern Ireland's First Minister gave one of the readings and there

:03:24. > :03:25.was an act of remembrance, wreaths were laid at the cathedral's war

:03:26. > :03:28.memorial. Followed by the Northern Ireland

:03:29. > :03:36.Military Wives Choir. Gaelic football, and in

:03:37. > :03:47.the Ulster Championship Tyrone have beaten Cavan by five goals and 18

:03:48. > :03:58.points to 2-seventeen1 face Two first-half goals from Peter

:03:59. > :04:03.Harte set the tone. The first a fantastic finish from the club man

:04:04. > :04:08.and the second from close range. Their dominance continued after the

:04:09. > :04:12.break. Rory Brennan panned it into the net

:04:13. > :04:19.seconds after being introduced as a substitute. Order was resumed when

:04:20. > :04:26.another substitute Mark Bradley fired in Tyrone's fifth of the game.

:04:27. > :04:32.While Jack Brady scored a consolidation goal for Cavan, it was

:04:33. > :04:33.Tyrone's day, they progress to an Ulster final against donee dal in

:04:34. > :04:35.two weeks time. Let's get the weather

:04:36. > :04:48.forecast now with Cecilia. It looks as if things will warm up.

:04:49. > :04:52.Tonight dry and chilly. Temperatures in low single figures. The next

:04:53. > :04:56.raria of rain arrives in the south-west and will push north and

:04:57. > :05:00.east through the rush hour tomorrow. Not a great start to the week. Quite

:05:01. > :05:03.wet, quite chilly as well, but warming up against onwards.

:05:04. > :05:07.Temperatures in the high teens. There will be some drier weather at

:05:08. > :05:11.times as well. At least you'll get out in the garden some days this

:05:12. > :05:17.week. Not tomorrow, perhaps, though because although it will start dry,

:05:18. > :05:19.the rain arrives quickly and it will become heavy and persistent across

:05:20. > :05:23.parts of the south and south-east, more patchy towards the north coast.

:05:24. > :05:27.The rain is across us for most of the day. It edges further north into

:05:28. > :05:31.the south of Scotland and north-west England. Behind it, quite warm,

:05:32. > :05:35.muggy air pushes in across the Republic, but many parts of England

:05:36. > :05:39.and Wales avoid k the rain and staying dry with increasing cloud.

:05:40. > :05:43.The north of Scotland cool, but drier here with a few showers. Under

:05:44. > :05:50.that rain, temperatures are going to struggle, 15 Celsius at best. Not a

:05:51. > :05:55.day for the open toes. Trying up late in the day. We have drier

:05:56. > :05:58.weather on Tuesday across Northern Ireland, across the Republic and

:05:59. > :06:03.across western areas of England and Wales. Showery bits of pieces of

:06:04. > :06:07.rain continuing further north and east. The next weather front brings

:06:08. > :06:11.cloud. Some patchy rain for western Ireland and Western Scotland, but

:06:12. > :06:14.further east, it should stay dry with sunshine breaking through. On

:06:15. > :06:19.Thursday, warming up. Temperatures in the high teens or the low 20s.

:06:20. > :06:21.Still some rain at times, particularly across Scotland. There

:06:22. > :06:26.will be patchy rain across us too. So not a great start to the week.

:06:27. > :06:29.Warming up as the week goes on. Still some rain around at times.

:06:30. > :06:32.That's it. Good night.
