:03:34. > :03:35.Martin McGuinness confirmed that he expects

:04:12. > :04:13.Tomorrow Mr McGuinness and Arlene Foster will be

:04:20. > :04:22.the heads of the devolved administrations in Scotland, Wales

:04:23. > :04:24.and Northern Ireland will meet with the new Secretary of State

:04:25. > :04:27.and the Taoiseach, and it will be interesting to hear what is said,

:04:28. > :04:30.but more importantly, how it is said about Brexit.

:04:31. > :04:32.The French President has said the UK should begin negotiations to leave

:04:33. > :04:36.I speak for the people here who supported our contention that we

:04:37. > :04:41.should remain part of Europe. I watched the press conference

:04:42. > :04:44.yesterday with Angela Merkel and with Theresa May and Theresa May

:04:45. > :04:48.medication would not trigger Article 50 this year. That certainly

:04:49. > :04:54.suggests to me we are dealing with the British Government that is still

:04:55. > :05:00.in the said by the fallout from the vote which surprised many.

:05:01. > :05:03.The French President has said the UK should begin negotiations to leave

:05:19. > :05:22.Speaking in Dublin, Francois Hollande said he's aware

:05:23. > :05:29.Francois Hollande's time in Dublin had to be cut short because of last

:05:30. > :05:32.week's Nice lorry-driver attack that has left 84 people dead.

:05:33. > :05:34.Not surprisingly, then, terrorism and the British decision

:05:35. > :05:36.to leave the European Union dominated his meeting

:05:37. > :05:39.With the French President due to meet Theresa May in Paris

:05:40. > :05:42.this evening, he called on the UK to begin the Brexit negotiations

:05:43. > :05:45.as quickly as possible, but also said he understands the Irish

:05:46. > :05:48.stance on preserving the Good Friday Agreement

:05:49. > :05:56.for the sake of the peace process in Northern Ireland.

:05:57. > :05:58.TRANSLATION: Iran denies there is a stressful

:05:59. > :06:00.situation for Ireland and that must find a

:06:01. > :06:10.The Taoiseach, as in Berlin with Chancellor Merkel last week,

:06:11. > :06:11.once again stressed the importance of Northern Ireland

:06:12. > :06:18.for Dublin in the forthcoming Brexit negotiations.

:06:19. > :06:25.We understand exactly the uniqueness of the Good Friday Agreement and

:06:26. > :06:31.Europe's support that and this is a fundamental issue and we want to see

:06:32. > :06:32.protected and that therefore it will have its own special nature as part

:06:33. > :06:37.of the discussions. The French President also

:06:38. > :06:39.paid a courtesy call on his Irish counterpart,

:06:40. > :06:41.Michael D Higgins, and separately met members of the French community

:06:42. > :06:43.before returning to Paris where he says he will tonight ask

:06:44. > :06:46.Theresa May why there's such a delay Some of the other stories making

:06:47. > :06:55.the news this evening. A man's been beaten in his north

:06:56. > :07:00.Belfast home by a number of masked The 37-year-old suffered injuries

:07:01. > :07:06.to his arms and legs after the gang forced their way into the house

:07:07. > :07:08.at Canning Place last night. An unsafe building has forced

:07:09. > :07:11.the closure of a road in Holywood. Earlier today, the Bangor Road had

:07:12. > :07:14.to be shut between Stewart's Place and Priory Park because of

:07:15. > :07:20.the threat posed by this building. The Health Minister says

:07:21. > :07:22.she believes there's both political and clinical will to help change

:07:23. > :07:24.the local health and Michelle O'Neill was speaking

:07:25. > :07:29.after receiving the finished report on the modernisation of the system

:07:30. > :07:38.from an expert panel. Well we've had a good amount

:07:39. > :07:41.of sunshine this week, but of course that's not

:07:42. > :07:43.always the case. Today we were told that everyone

:07:44. > :07:46.should consider taking vitamin D supplements

:07:47. > :07:47.in the autumn and winter. As David Maxwell reports,

:07:48. > :07:49.health officials are concerned that we aren't getting enough of it

:07:50. > :07:54.in our diet. When it appears, we

:07:55. > :07:56.make the most of it. The sunshine doesn't only feel good

:07:57. > :08:00.- it actually has health benefits because it's how we get most

:08:01. > :08:04.of our vitamin D, the vitamin that helps us maintain healthy

:08:05. > :08:08.bones, teeth and muscles. Today we got a vitamin D boost,

:08:09. > :08:14.but it isn't always like this. If you are exposed on a sunny day

:08:15. > :08:18.during the summer in Northern Ireland to sunlight for about ten

:08:19. > :08:21.minutes, that should be enough vitamins the to see

:08:22. > :08:25.you through for two or three months, so the problem

:08:26. > :08:29.is during the winter months when we don't get enough sunshine

:08:30. > :08:32.here, those stockpiles We can get some vitamin D

:08:33. > :08:37.through eating foods But not nearly as much

:08:38. > :08:45.as we get from the sun. We're always being told

:08:46. > :08:47.to apply this stuff but putting suncream

:08:48. > :08:49.on actually prevents us We do need limited exposure

:08:50. > :08:53.to the sun but that can be Some experts suggest you should go

:08:54. > :09:00.into the sunlight for ten or 15 minutes before

:09:01. > :09:04.you apply sun protection. It is important you apply enough

:09:05. > :09:07.to make sure you don't get burnt and increase your

:09:08. > :09:24.risk of skin cancer. The Government says another way to

:09:25. > :09:31.get the recommended amount is through supplements. What about

:09:32. > :09:36.advice be heeded? It is a tricky, especially with fussy eaters. I

:09:37. > :09:41.think keeping them out all year round without sun block is probably

:09:42. > :09:44.the way I would go. These two would take vitamins every day, and as I'm

:09:45. > :09:52.pregnant, I will take vitamins as well. I think it is needed. There is

:09:53. > :09:55.not enough sunshine here. Supplements are rarely recommended

:09:56. > :10:00.for pregnant women and children, the big change today though is that we

:10:01. > :10:01.all need to consider taking them, bar interrupts it changed our

:10:02. > :10:11.climate. -- bar age at exchange. A woman from Belfast has been

:10:12. > :10:13.reunited with a family heirloom Medical student Katie Patterson lost

:10:14. > :10:17.a ?10,000 ring handed down from her grandmother

:10:18. > :10:19.while swimming in Majorca. A diver using a specialist metal

:10:20. > :10:29.detector managed to pick the ring It sounds ridiculous, but I

:10:30. > :10:33.genuinely felt at piece of my heart had gone missing. I appreciated that

:10:34. > :10:39.ring everyday and are reminded me of the wonderful memories I have all

:10:40. > :10:43.grandmother. I saw this flash, this sparkle. I cleared the sand away and

:10:44. > :10:49.there it was. It was flashing away from the sunlight. Then he said,

:10:50. > :10:56.I've found is Mickey Mouse ring and that was my ring. I cannot tell you

:10:57. > :10:58.how grateful I was. He is an absolute hero.

:10:59. > :11:00.Cliftonville are out of the Europa League

:11:01. > :11:03.Gerard Lyttle's men lost two-nil away to AEK Larnaca

:11:04. > :11:13.And a look ahead to a story from our investigations reporter

:11:14. > :11:18.Kevin Magee on tomorrow evening's Newsline.

:11:19. > :11:27.Hundreds of tenants in North Down and parts of Belfast finding out the

:11:28. > :11:31.two major property companies have -- they've been paying rent to former

:11:32. > :11:35.30 years are in fact charities and they want to know what that means

:11:36. > :11:41.for them. I would like to know who all beneficiaries. I will have some

:11:42. > :11:45.of the answers and you can hear our report on BBC Radio in the morning

:11:46. > :11:47.and there will be more on BBC Newsline at 6:30pm.

:11:48. > :11:57.After fairly pleasant start, the day is ending on a more unsettled note

:11:58. > :12:01.for some parts, particularly the West. There have been heavy showers

:12:02. > :12:05.through the afternoon, they are continuing for a time this evening,

:12:06. > :12:08.some could be thundery and lead to localised surface water and

:12:09. > :12:14.flooding. There is a warning in place. We'll get some showers

:12:15. > :12:18.pushing east. They will be lighter and more scattered. The West

:12:19. > :12:26.gradually gets drier through the night. It will be mild and muggy

:12:27. > :12:30.with temperatures between 12-14d. Tomorrow, a better day. Lots of dry

:12:31. > :12:36.weather. One or two showers in the east, but will move away. It should

:12:37. > :12:41.brighten through the morning. Those showers head east to parts of

:12:42. > :12:46.Scotland, England and Wales. Some heavy ones towards the east and

:12:47. > :12:54.south-east of England, it will be warm and humid still, 25-26d.

:12:55. > :12:57.Fresher towards the north and west. But for Ireland and Northern

:12:58. > :13:05.Ireland, it is a mainly dry afternoon. One or two rogue showers,

:13:06. > :13:09.but the emphasis is on dry weather. There will be cloud, but thin enough

:13:10. > :13:15.to allow brightness through. There should be highs of 19-20d, fairly

:13:16. > :13:20.pleasant but with light won. Into the weekend, a couple of weather

:13:21. > :13:23.fronts. The couple of damp spells the dry weather as well.

:13:24. > :13:26.Our next BBC Newsline is at 6:25am in the morning
