:00:57. > :01:05.Bringing your pet for a walk takes on a whole new meaning

:01:06. > :01:07.with this little pony. Dungannon driver

:01:08. > :01:11.Kris Meeke makes history by winning And we're

:01:12. > :01:15.into the last month of summer but is the weather set

:01:16. > :01:17.to match the season? The parents of a teenager

:01:18. > :01:26.who took his own life are calling for a secure mental health facility

:01:27. > :01:30.for under-18s who are Aaron Fox died at the age of 16

:01:31. > :01:36.earlier this year after becoming In a secure unit, young people

:01:37. > :01:43.would be referred for specialist treatment and would not be not

:01:44. > :01:46.free to come and go. Such a facility for over-18s

:01:47. > :01:51.is provided in Knockbracken Kelly Bonner has been

:01:52. > :01:57.speaking to the Fox family. Aaron Fox was just 15

:01:58. > :02:09.when his battle with drugs began. It progressed to legal highs,

:02:10. > :02:12.and it just got a hold From that point, it

:02:13. > :02:19.was a constant battle. The battle ended in Aaron

:02:20. > :02:31.taking his own life It was horrendous, just horrendous

:02:32. > :02:40.to watch your child self-destruct in such a way. There was nothing we

:02:41. > :02:43.could do. Every parent's main goal in life is to protect their

:02:44. > :02:52.children, to make sure they are safe. I just wish we could go back

:02:53. > :02:56.to that day and I would never let out of my sight.

:02:57. > :03:04.As it stands there are no secure treatment units for under

:03:05. > :03:06.18-year-old people with severe mental health issues.

:03:07. > :03:08.Something this MLA says needs to be addressed.

:03:09. > :03:10.There is not enough early intervention, health and support,

:03:11. > :03:12.and when they are engaged in very harmful behaviour,

:03:13. > :03:15.self harming and trying to take their own lives,

:03:16. > :03:17.we struggle to find where we can get them help.

:03:18. > :03:19.Because here in Northern Ireland there is no secure

:03:20. > :03:24.But the Department of Health say the current demand for a secure

:03:25. > :03:36.They say the priority for any additional investment would go

:03:37. > :03:40.towards strengthening existing provisions rather than on a

:03:41. > :03:53.specialised unit, something the Fox family say is not good enough.

:03:54. > :03:56.The way the system is working, kids need to be on their knees.

:03:57. > :04:00.Literally on their knees before anybody will pay attention.

:04:01. > :04:07.There are serious failings around a lack of resources. There needs to be

:04:08. > :04:13.that early intervention. There needs to be what we were calling a secure

:04:14. > :04:19.unit, but more a safe place to get those kids away from the addiction,

:04:20. > :04:26.to educate them and to give them the assistance they need. The Fox family

:04:27. > :04:27.say until that happens they fear more lives will be lost.

:04:28. > :04:30.And since posting that story on social media this afternoon,

:04:31. > :04:34.If you'd like to share your thoughts, join

:04:35. > :04:41.Carl Frampton - could he become the greatest Irish

:04:42. > :04:44.Well, that's what his mentor Barry McGuigan thinks

:04:45. > :04:47.after the Belfast man's victory at the weekend.

:04:48. > :05:04.Unprecedented, Donna, and could not have happened to a more grounded or

:05:05. > :05:06.unassuming individual. Carl Frampton, the boy

:05:07. > :05:08.from Tigers Bay, has taken Northern Ireland's first

:05:09. > :05:11.two-weight world champion says he wants his next fight to be

:05:12. > :05:14.in Belfast after winning the WBA world featherweight

:05:15. > :05:16.title in Brooklyn. He defeated previously unbeaten

:05:17. > :05:33.three-weight champion Leo Santa Cruz It has been an incredible few months

:05:34. > :05:38.for Carl Frampton. In February he unified the superbantamweight

:05:39. > :05:43.division but Saturday's win in New York has propelled him to another

:05:44. > :05:49.level, not just in his own sport but also in the eyes of the American

:05:50. > :05:56.public. His fight has been heralded as the fight of the year after an

:05:57. > :06:03.unforgettable night in Brooklyn. And the new WBA featherweight champion

:06:04. > :06:07.of the world... This was Carl Frampton's sweetest moment in the

:06:08. > :06:13.ring, the winner of a fight that will be remembered for years to

:06:14. > :06:18.come. He rose to the occasion on the big stage as the two undefeated

:06:19. > :06:24.stars went toe to toe. But it was Frampton who seemed in control, as

:06:25. > :06:31.Leo Santa Cruz felt the full force of the Belfast man's power. It went

:06:32. > :06:36.the distance and while one judge scored it a draw, Frampton was

:06:37. > :06:43.declared the winner by the other two officials. I thought that I won the

:06:44. > :06:48.fight by a couple of rounds but being away from home, who knows what

:06:49. > :06:53.will happen, but the judging was fair. I think it was close but I

:06:54. > :07:00.deserved to win. That puts me among the top fighters in the world, I

:07:01. > :07:03.have unified the superbantamweight division in February, I beat a three

:07:04. > :07:08.weight world champion so I think that puts me up with the top

:07:09. > :07:13.fighters in the world and maybe touching the top ten. To night Carl

:07:14. > :07:21.Frampton has put himself in the Hall of Fame. He will be a Hall of Fame

:07:22. > :07:24.fighter with that performance and there one a new title, first

:07:25. > :07:30.Northern Ireland man to do it, he's in the fight of the year and I

:07:31. > :07:34.guarantee he will be voted into the Hall of Fame six years after he

:07:35. > :07:43.retires because of that performance tonight. What with the motions like?

:07:44. > :07:47.I've never been as nervous before at a sporting event, whether it be

:07:48. > :07:52.Ryder Cup for watching Northern Ireland, when you are there, I don't

:07:53. > :07:59.think there's any better show in sport than boxing, especially when

:08:00. > :08:03.two great fighters are going to to toe, so nervousness, anxiety, but

:08:04. > :08:11.I'm just glad he got the win. What next? I don't know, potentially a

:08:12. > :08:16.rematch with Santa Cruz, a fight with Selby has been talked about,

:08:17. > :08:22.Gary Russell, but I want to fight in Belfast. I don't want people to have

:08:23. > :08:27.to pay top money to support me in the States. I would like to fight in

:08:28. > :08:33.Belfast at least once a year. I'm in the driving seat now and I want to

:08:34. > :08:37.bring them to Belfast. Frampton will spend a few days relaxing and

:08:38. > :08:43.sightseeing here but he will return home one of the hot properties in

:08:44. > :08:47.the sport. After his stateside works, New York has fallen in love

:08:48. > :08:49.with Carl Frampton but to 29-year-old is determined to add to

:08:50. > :08:51.his own legacy in his home city. "I'm just a working class fella

:08:52. > :08:54.from Belfast who can fight a wee bit" Frampton told the media

:08:55. > :08:57.in Brooklyn after landing the title. He then booked out a Manhattan bar

:08:58. > :09:00.and threw open the doors to his travelling fans and,

:09:01. > :09:14.what's more, picked up the bill. The boys from Belfast, we all

:09:15. > :09:19.believe in him. We knew when we came out here he was going to spark Santa

:09:20. > :09:29.Cruz and he did, he sparked him in the second row. They knew world

:09:30. > :09:35.champion! How much have the fans enjoyed meeting him, shaking his

:09:36. > :09:40.hand, getting a photo or a chat with the world champion? It's nice to be

:09:41. > :09:46.able to do that because he's such a down-to-earth guy and most of the

:09:47. > :09:50.guys here. I believe if he had lost last night he would have done the

:09:51. > :09:57.same thing, it shows he appreciates everyone who travelled over and it's

:09:58. > :10:01.great to be here. I was at the Euros, now I'm here, the bank

:10:02. > :10:09.manager is crying but back to work tomorrow. Just how good was Carl

:10:10. > :10:16.last night? He was amazing, fighting their best guy in his division, a

:10:17. > :10:20.former three weight world champion, and defeated, he was up against it.

:10:21. > :10:27.He really had to rise to the occasion and he did that. He was

:10:28. > :10:31.going toe to toe with a great Mexican guy who can throw good

:10:32. > :10:33.books. Each did in range and he came out on top.

:10:34. > :10:42.# Frampton's on fire, Santa Cruz is terrified!

:10:43. > :10:46.We still await confirmation of the plans around the homecoming -

:10:47. > :10:50.The fight might have taken place on the other side of the pond

:10:51. > :10:53.but the ripples have been felt all the way back here

:10:54. > :10:57.So what will Carl Frampton's historic win do for the sport

:10:58. > :10:59.of boxing here where amateur clubs are so often community hubs?

:11:00. > :11:02.The fans probably haven't come down to earth yet,

:11:03. > :11:06.but for some who'd made the trip of a lifetime to the fight in

:11:07. > :11:14.The excitement of being at the win will stay with them.

:11:15. > :11:22.We were sort of half expecting he would win but even hopeful he would

:11:23. > :11:25.win, but to win in such a style he did win, unanimous points decision,

:11:26. > :11:27.it was unheard of. As they landed at Belfast

:11:28. > :11:39.International, thoughts were already They hope Windsor Park for some of a

:11:40. > :11:45.similar nature and it would be fabulous if we could have him defend

:11:46. > :11:50.his new world title in Belfast. There's a lot of things that have to

:11:51. > :11:52.come together for something like this to happen in Belfast and we

:11:53. > :11:54.hope for the best that it will. Northern Ireland is said to punch

:11:55. > :11:57.above its weight in boxing and a former champion

:11:58. > :12:07.predicts this win will draw You just have to look around, people

:12:08. > :12:13.are excited and happy, you go into any boxing club now, Tigers Bay for

:12:14. > :12:18.the Falls Road, kids all want to be Carl Frampton. He will be on the

:12:19. > :12:19.world stage and they all want part of that.

:12:20. > :12:21.This coach was presented with an award by Carl Frampton

:12:22. > :12:25.He's hoping that the latest success will bring a boost to the coffers

:12:26. > :12:28.of amateur clubs as funders realise how popular the sport is.

:12:29. > :12:36.Hopefully the funders will look at that and think, can we help? Can we

:12:37. > :12:43.be part of the next superstar coming through? You wouldn't say no. When

:12:44. > :12:49.Carl Frampton defends his title, could it be there at the Titanic

:12:50. > :12:55.Slipway, where he drew such huge loyal home crowds in 2014? The venue

:12:56. > :12:59.could be Windsor Park when it is ready for a big crowd but perhaps

:13:00. > :13:05.the TV rights and lure of big money will mean the next big fight will

:13:06. > :13:07.happen to be in the US, so, Frampton fans, time to start saving.

:13:08. > :13:10.Carl Frampton's purse was said to he half a million dollars -

:13:11. > :13:12.there are a few more big paydays to come.

:13:13. > :13:15.Donna, I'll be back a little later in the programme

:13:16. > :13:18.Traders in Lisburn have condemned those responsible for closing down

:13:19. > :13:22.Market Place had to be evacuated after a viable bomb

:13:23. > :13:27.The police say one line of inquiry is that it fell off a vehicle.

:13:28. > :13:30.It was business as usual in Lisburn today.

:13:31. > :13:33.But this busy shopping area came to a standstill

:13:34. > :13:39.And this was the reason - a viable bomb.

:13:40. > :13:44.Its discovery prompted road closures and the evacuation of businesses.

:13:45. > :13:52.Some are blaming dissident republicans.

:13:53. > :14:00.The line of inquiry is developing that this device came off a vehicle.

:14:01. > :14:05.History has shown that prison officers and security pass never

:14:06. > :14:10.have been targeted, most recently a prison officer was murdered with an

:14:11. > :14:12.undercard device and it suggests this is a pattern and so we need to

:14:13. > :14:14.be vigilant. A controlled explosion was carried

:14:15. > :14:16.out to make the device safe. And in a follow-up operation

:14:17. > :14:29.by police, a car was seized While there is relief that no one

:14:30. > :14:32.was injured by the bomb found here on Saturday, there is anger in the

:14:33. > :14:39.business community about the impact it had on trade. When I saw it, it

:14:40. > :14:47.was time to lock the shop up and move on quickly. It is just lucky no

:14:48. > :14:53.one was injured and killed, so it was panic and moving as fast as

:14:54. > :14:57.possible. A massive impact, last day of the month for me and sales day,

:14:58. > :15:00.payday weekend, so a massive impact. The bomb was found just feet

:15:01. > :15:03.from where a booby trap device killed six off-duty

:15:04. > :15:05.soldiers in 1988. Locals are thankful there was no

:15:06. > :15:13.further bloodshed three decades on. Almost ?1 million is to be

:15:14. > :15:16.spent upgrading the CCTV As our North-West reporter,

:15:17. > :15:20.Keiron Tourish explains, the cameras are being used to protect the public

:15:21. > :15:24.and catch criminals. A group of young people letting off

:15:25. > :15:27.fireworks in Foyle Street. They were caught on CCTV and within

:15:28. > :15:31.minutes police were alerted. Since the 1st of June last year,

:15:32. > :15:35.the CCTV monitoring station has Many of the thefts, assaults,

:15:36. > :15:43.fires or road traffic There's a live link-up so police can

:15:44. > :15:48.see a developing incident Other emergency agencies or homeless

:15:49. > :16:06.charities can be alerted too. There's no doubt it has a perfect.

:16:07. > :16:11.The new cameras at the back of the Council offices, within 24 hours of

:16:12. > :16:16.them going up we had two persons arrested in relation to theft and

:16:17. > :16:22.criminal damage, so they act as a deterrent but also enable us to get

:16:23. > :16:27.evidence for early arrests and detections. As part of this upgrade,

:16:28. > :16:33.the riverfront and all three bridges in the city are now covered by CCTV.

:16:34. > :16:39.That is proving vital for the emergency services. It is another

:16:40. > :16:44.set of eyes for us on duty and it allows us to respond quickly to

:16:45. > :16:45.anyone in distress or at the railings or someone who has entered

:16:46. > :16:46.the water. This latest upgrade to 80 cameras

:16:47. > :16:48.and the staff monitoring for the next five years

:16:49. > :16:59.will cost ?900,000. Is it about spying on people,

:17:00. > :17:05.invading privacy? It is about making sure people are safe and feel safe

:17:06. > :17:10.and if there is crime committed, we detect that crime, if people are

:17:11. > :17:16.vulnerable we help them. CCTV is about helping people in their

:17:17. > :17:17.everyday lives. We work with people in other agencies.

:17:18. > :17:27.The emergency services believe it's money well spent.

:17:28. > :17:30.The game is almost over for one of the world's most

:17:31. > :17:34.The American broadcaster HBO has announced that Game of Thrones -

:17:35. > :17:36.much of which is filmed in Northern Ireland -

:17:37. > :17:39.will come to an end after season eight is broadcast in 2018.

:17:40. > :17:40.Our arts correspondent Robbie Meredith looks

:17:41. > :17:43.at the possible impact of the conclusion of the production.

:17:44. > :17:45.Ballintoy in North Antrim as we know it, and as millions

:17:46. > :17:50.The former Prime Minister David Cameron was also an avid viewer,

:17:51. > :17:58.as he showed on a visit to the set last year.

:17:59. > :18:04.Game of Thrones is filmed here at Belfast's Titanic Studios

:18:05. > :18:05.and in locations across Northern Ireland.

:18:06. > :18:07.One critic has described it as swords, dragons,

:18:08. > :18:17.That combination has made it a global success.

:18:18. > :18:26.I would say it's the number one show that most people from the age of 20

:18:27. > :18:32.250 watts. It's what they call the water cooler talk. Industry and its

:18:33. > :18:39.huge, a lot of my friends watch it regularly. I watch it in Scotland

:18:40. > :18:41.and a lot of the time I say to my friends I know where that is.

:18:42. > :18:43.There's also been a financial return.

:18:44. > :18:45.NI Screen have invested almost ?14 million of public

:18:46. > :18:51.But in return they say it's brought ?150 million into the local economy

:18:52. > :19:04.By the time Game of Thrones leaves Northern Ireland it will have been

:19:05. > :19:09.on the ground for ten years, a long time in our game. We have been

:19:10. > :19:16.planning for this for years. It leaves all the knowledge, support

:19:17. > :19:22.companies, postproduction companies, casting, extras companies, catering

:19:23. > :19:26.companies, lighting and construction, they are all here and

:19:27. > :19:29.there is not a significant fire in Los Angeles who doesn't know that

:19:30. > :19:31.Game of Thrones was made here. -- buyer.

:19:32. > :19:33.Winter hasn't quite come to Westeros, where Game

:19:34. > :19:43.There are still two series to be filmed.

:19:44. > :19:46.We've heard of cats and dogs being used for pet therapy -

:19:47. > :19:49.but in Ballymena a more unusual pet is helping one family.

:19:50. > :19:53.Our north east reporter Sara Girvin has been to meet them -

:19:54. > :20:07.He may be little but he's had a big impact on this family. Lynn has

:20:08. > :20:11.serious health problems and has undergone a heart transplant. She

:20:12. > :20:16.credits her miniature horse with helping her get back on her feet. If

:20:17. > :20:21.I'm having a bad day I come out and sit in the garden and if he doesn't

:20:22. > :20:28.want to talk to me, I can watch him and if he wants a cuddle, even

:20:29. > :20:32.better. Lynn hopes that in time Truffles could be trained as a

:20:33. > :20:37.therapy animal for others battling poor health but for now he lives

:20:38. > :20:43.with the family and his best friend and I, the Jack Russell, who he

:20:44. > :20:49.shares carrot sticks with. After the pair were spotted walking together

:20:50. > :20:56.in Ballymena, Truffles became a social media star. I don't want to

:20:57. > :21:02.save the word celebrity but in Ballymena you cannot help but feel

:21:03. > :21:09.these ones up the road have a little worse, to see is just a pet, he's

:21:10. > :21:17.just Truffles. And while truffles has his own or sports, he prefers

:21:18. > :21:22.the family car. It is not long before he is attracting attention

:21:23. > :21:27.and lots of it. It is a varied reaction, some people you were a mad

:21:28. > :21:34.man walking a horse and other times the kids are overjoyed to see him

:21:35. > :21:41.and stroke. It's given me a reason to get out for a walk. With

:21:42. > :21:46.everything that has gone on with Lynn and her problems, I suffered a

:21:47. > :21:53.bit, but it has given me a goal and a drive to get out. For now, the

:21:54. > :21:57.family has Truffles in training. They are taking him around nursing

:21:58. > :22:04.homes to meet residents. They want to spread the joy he has brought

:22:05. > :22:06.them around Ballymena and beyond. A happy family and horse.

:22:07. > :22:08.There was a rallying first over the weekend

:22:09. > :22:23.Kris Meeke has won the Rally of Finland, becoming the first British

:22:24. > :22:25.driver to claim the title in its history.

:22:26. > :22:28.In a remarkable weekend for Meeke's team there was also an emotional

:22:29. > :22:30.first podium finish for his Irish team-mate Craig Breen.

:22:31. > :22:34.Meeke led almost the whole of the four-day race over the gravel

:22:35. > :22:38.And the Dungannon man held his nerve to the last,

:22:39. > :22:40.winning the rally by over 29 seconds, establishing a new

:22:41. > :22:54.It's just been exceptional. I think yesterday morning we had to do

:22:55. > :22:59.something special, this morning I had to take my brain and I think

:23:00. > :23:03.yesterday I left it in the hotel somewhere, so it's been an

:23:04. > :23:14.exceptional weekend and I might have a beer tonight.
