:05:28. > :05:32.prepared and presented to the judge surrounding the handling of

:05:33. > :05:38.ticketing at the real Olympics. The former president, who was arrested

:06:27. > :06:31.passports seized have agreed to present themselves for questioning

:06:32. > :06:34.at a local police station in Rio tomorrow. Meanwhile, police have

:06:35. > :06:39.taken possession of a quantity of unused tickets in the offices in

:06:40. > :06:41.Brazil that the council said had been made available for the family

:06:42. > :06:50.and friends of the athletes. Still to come on the programme, a

:06:59. > :07:02.Marie Stopes International says it is suspending abortion services

:07:03. > :07:05.at its clinic in Belfast for under 18s and what it calls

:07:06. > :07:08.Last Friday, restrictions were imposed on the organisation

:07:09. > :07:12.in England after health care inspectors raised concerNs.

:07:13. > :07:14.in England after health care inspectors raised concerns.

:07:15. > :07:16.Our Health Correspondent Marie-Louise Connolly is with me.

:07:17. > :07:27.Welcomer he said, services in England have suspended following a

:07:28. > :07:30.report from the Care Quality Commission. Here in Belfast on edge

:07:31. > :07:41.falls under a different regulator. We have the RQIA. The clinic has

:07:42. > :07:44.voluntarily decided to stop some of the terminations in Belfast. It said

:07:45. > :07:50.it will suspend abortion services at the clinic for two groups.

:07:51. > :07:53.Vulnerable women and those under 18. They say they have made this action

:07:54. > :07:56.because they want to work alongside the Care Quality Commission in

:07:57. > :08:02.England to resolve the areas of concern around governance issues and

:08:03. > :08:06.training of medical staff. They say the immediate concern is to redirect

:08:07. > :08:11.those women who may, in Belfast, have made a booking made enquiries

:08:12. > :08:12.that they want to try and help them find an alternative place at another

:08:13. > :08:16.clinic in England. People might be surprised

:08:17. > :08:17.that any abortion services are offered in NI -

:08:18. > :08:26.what services are offered Natural life. As you know, Northern

:08:27. > :08:30.Ireland operates under a very strict legal framework when it comes to

:08:31. > :08:34.abortion. One that is different to what is up and running in England.

:08:35. > :08:39.Terminations are only permissible in Northern Ireland under the law when

:08:40. > :08:46.a woman's life is at risk or there is permanent or series risk to her

:08:47. > :08:52.mental health. Here in Belfast, while we don't have surgical

:08:53. > :08:56.terminations, we have what I call terminations by oral, medicine,

:08:57. > :09:00.tablets, which are given up to women up to nine weeks pregnant and that

:09:01. > :09:06.would trigger a Tamina nation. As of today, it will not be providing that

:09:07. > :09:08.service oral medication to women under 18 or women who are seen to be

:09:09. > :09:19.vulnerable -- termination. We understand that around 1000 women

:09:20. > :09:24.every year from Northern Ireland travel to England to get the service

:09:25. > :09:32.of a clinic or something similar. We can imagine that someone in this

:09:33. > :09:38.week up and to be affected. Marie Stopes have set up a helpline and

:09:39. > :09:40.they are encouraging women to help get help and they want to try and

:09:41. > :09:41.redirect them. Thank you. An exchange on social media has

:09:42. > :09:44.ended with the Chief Constable In what George Hamilton described

:09:45. > :09:51.as a frank exchange of views, he suggested if police officers

:09:52. > :09:53.didn't want to do what their job entailed, they should

:09:54. > :10:08."dry their eyes or move on". It started innocently enough with

:10:09. > :10:12.the street from your channels and just before midnight on Saturday

:10:13. > :10:16.about considering deleting as a career along with a 19th-century ad

:10:17. > :10:20.for the service. He said working conditions have improved since then.

:10:21. > :10:23.One user disagreed. He said that police were now expected to go

:10:24. > :10:41.beyond their jobs and filling other roles. The Chief Constable said that

:10:42. > :10:44.they... Then there was a reply. The Police Federation called frame to

:10:45. > :10:49.apologise, which he did. Again, by social media. Saying that the 140

:10:50. > :10:56.character limit of Twitter was not the

:10:57. > :10:59.Saying that the 140 character limit of Twitter was not

:11:00. > :11:14.I accept that my comments would not have conveyed the support that I

:11:15. > :11:22.want to give. Alas, I am sorry. They say that George Hamilton was being

:11:23. > :11:29.honest. The reality is, social services a last resort. This was a

:11:30. > :11:32.complaint about having to do the work of paramedics and social

:11:33. > :11:35.workers. Police have always had to do that. Mark Lindsay accepted the

:11:36. > :11:38.apology, also by social media. A couple in their eighties have

:11:39. > :11:40.escaped serious injury Fire crews were called

:11:41. > :11:45.to the bungalow on Maghereagh Road at around ten

:11:46. > :11:47.o'clock this morning. A man was treated at the scene

:11:48. > :12:02.for smoke inhalation. Luckily, the two occupants of the

:12:03. > :12:06.house were there when we got there. We mobilised three appliances to the

:12:07. > :12:09.incident. They were faced with a developed fire in the dictionary of

:12:10. > :12:14.the property and they verify that there was no one else property at

:12:15. > :12:16.all. Very quickly, the fire was under control.

:12:17. > :12:19.A-level results day was just four days ago, and it looks like more

:12:20. > :12:22.young people from Northern Ireland than ever will be starting

:12:23. > :12:25.But it's almost certain we'll be exporting more than ever

:12:26. > :12:29.Our education correspondent Robbie Meredith is at Queen's

:12:30. > :12:44.What do the stats show us? Applications to go to university

:12:45. > :12:51.right across the University are handled by the University and

:12:52. > :12:58.College admissions service or Ucas. They have shown a rise in statistics

:12:59. > :13:05.of young people being accepted on to university courses. Last year, at

:13:06. > :13:12.this stage, there were 12,420 local students to have gained a university

:13:13. > :13:16.place. This year, that has risen to 13,270 already. That is a 7% rise in

:13:17. > :13:20.a higher figure than any previous year. Remember, we are still a very

:13:21. > :13:26.early stage of this process. There are still thousands of locals

:13:27. > :13:31.students trying to get university places, maybe because they done

:13:32. > :13:35.worse or better than expected. What are the reasons for the rise?

:13:36. > :13:40.Welcomer despite all the worries and actuation fees, student debt,

:13:41. > :13:43.graduate employment, more and more young people here now apply to go to

:13:44. > :13:50.university. Ten years ago, there were just over 17,000 applications.

:13:51. > :13:55.This year, 20 1000. That is a record high of university applications. The

:13:56. > :13:58.main reason that there will be more people going to university this year

:13:59. > :14:01.because is happening in England. University there are no longer have

:14:02. > :14:04.limits on the amount of undergraduates they can take. There

:14:05. > :14:08.are red numbers of places available across the water. They are doing

:14:09. > :14:14.also do things to attract students. I have seen offers of free travel,

:14:15. > :14:21.free iPad and free Premier League matches to go to university. By

:14:22. > :14:25.contrast, there is not a rise in the number of students going to local

:14:26. > :14:28.universities. That is right. Because, while English universities

:14:29. > :14:34.are taking more undergraduates and making them pay higher tuition fees,

:14:35. > :14:40.both Ulster University and Greens have two limit the number of

:14:41. > :14:51.undergraduates they can take. -- Queen. Queens Askew take less than

:14:52. > :15:02.they normally can. It is a similar reduction at Ulster University. Both

:15:03. > :15:06.universities blame those cups cups uncut on funding in university. We

:15:07. > :15:12.are hoping that they will be sending more people to university this year.

:15:13. > :15:15.More across the water. Around one third of 18-year-olds leave Northern

:15:16. > :15:25.Ireland to study and that proportion seems certain to rise. Thank you

:15:26. > :15:28.very much. Coming up. The park runners taking up a petition on

:15:29. > :15:30.eviction from a National Trust estate.

:15:31. > :15:32.A man has been caught on CCTV smashing a defibrillator

:15:33. > :15:34.which was installed outside a shop in Londonderry.

:15:35. > :15:37.The video shows the man taking it from its container and throwing

:15:38. > :15:39.the life-saving equipment to the ground outside

:15:40. > :15:41.the premises on Rossdowney Road early yesterday morning.

:15:42. > :15:57.The local community bought it through fundraising.

:15:58. > :16:05.Every single penny of it was donated and raised by people in your local

:16:06. > :16:11.area here. Customers batting by and all that. Every penny went into the

:16:12. > :16:14.markets we have in the store. That is absolutely disgusting. That the

:16:15. > :16:18.general field from the atmosphere slogan driven past few days. They

:16:19. > :16:25.are extremely angry that the effort they put in have been taken away in

:16:26. > :16:27.a moment of madness. -- from the customers we have spoken to.

:16:28. > :16:29.Runners in County Fermanagh who participate in the Park Run

:16:30. > :16:32.event have begun a petition after the National Trust told them

:16:33. > :16:34.they could no longer use the Castle Coole Estate.

:16:35. > :16:38.The free weekly 5k run has taken place there for the last two years -

:16:39. > :16:40.but the National Trust says it is having an impact

:16:41. > :16:43.Here's our south west reporter Julian Fowler.

:16:44. > :16:47.On your marks, get set, go. Since the part one was first held here two

:16:48. > :16:52.years ago, it has grown in popularity. Around 120 people now

:16:53. > :16:57.take part every week. Now, the National Trust has asked the runners

:16:58. > :17:02.to leave. We are devastated. We are very sorry to be reading this. All

:17:03. > :17:07.of the visitors who come here are very sorry and all the Park runners

:17:08. > :17:12.are the same. It is a great showcase and we think that there is a better

:17:13. > :17:15.they lost there. We would not think it is a good idea. We think there

:17:16. > :17:21.are a lot of positives for the National Trust having ourselves.

:17:22. > :17:27.Park runs are held a 29 different properties and it is the only one in

:17:28. > :17:35.Northern Ireland. Because the event is always free, it waived the cost

:17:36. > :17:39.for runners. It said the impact on the ground, car park and staffing is

:17:40. > :17:44.too great. You'll like every event has the potential to impact on the

:17:45. > :17:49.site and a Park run is a weekly thing. That has a lot of impact over

:17:50. > :17:53.the period of time. As they say, our first priority is to look after the

:17:54. > :17:58.resources here because they are very limited and the property ransacked a

:17:59. > :18:02.significant deficit. Runners are unhappy at the decision. I think it

:18:03. > :18:06.is disgraceful. The National Trust are taking out what is essentially a

:18:07. > :18:10.charitable organisation trying to encourage people to get healthy and

:18:11. > :18:14.get fit. As well as being a park run, I am of the National Trust. I

:18:15. > :18:18.feel very let down by the National Trust that they have taken this

:18:19. > :18:22.decision. A lot of people come here who would not normally come. It's

:18:23. > :18:28.sad because it is a fabulous and energy. One double ten from

:18:29. > :18:33.Ballyclare today part. We have completed all the ones in Ireland.

:18:34. > :18:36.This is our last one and we would have done it in a couple of weeks

:18:37. > :18:41.but because it is finishing here, we had to catch it before it finishes.

:18:42. > :18:47.What did you think of it? It was lovely. Possibly the nicest one I

:18:48. > :18:52.done so far. They say the decision was mutually agreed with the

:18:53. > :18:58.organisers. After next week, it will relocate. Negotiations have taken

:18:59. > :19:03.place nationally between Park run UK and the National Trust headquarters.

:19:04. > :19:08.The decision stands to Andy Ryan at this castle. -- to end the run.

:19:39. > :19:40.Now sport, and some reflections on the Rio Olympic Games.

:19:41. > :19:46.The closing ceremony was held in Rio last night.

:19:47. > :19:49.Team GB finished second in the final medal table - their best performance

:20:14. > :20:16.the first Olympics in South America would not work. It works perfect and

:20:17. > :20:23.the sport was outstanding. There were no Northern Irish medallists to

:20:37. > :20:44.rower. It is really tough but I have to say that I have been so, lucky I

:20:45. > :20:48.put it all out there and did what I had to do and I am very proud. Team

:20:49. > :20:54.Ireland finished with just two medals. Gary and Paul O'Donovan, the

:20:55. > :21:02.brothers from Ireland finishing with a silver. It's a pity we are missing

:21:03. > :21:11.the celebration in Ireland when we are over here. Yes, hopefully get a

:21:12. > :21:15.national holiday or something. There was also a silver medal but for the

:21:16. > :21:24.Irish boxing team, it was a game is to forget. Welterweight Mike

:21:44. > :21:47.The final hurdle... I have always said I was going to be Olympic

:21:48. > :21:52.champion today and I feel it has been robbed of me. There was one

:21:53. > :21:59.Irish winner in the ring. For more performance director Billy Walsh. He

:22:00. > :22:05.was in the corner for his new team-mates in team USA. The story of

:22:06. > :22:08.the real games for Ireland will not finish when the team returned home.

:22:09. > :22:10.Northern Ireland's World Cup prospects have received a boost

:22:11. > :22:12.after defender Gareth McAuley decided to extend his

:22:13. > :22:16.player will be available for Michael O'Neill's squad

:22:32. > :22:33.of the table after beating Ballymena United 4-3 on a high

:22:34. > :22:47.Ards have been the surprise package at the start of this season. They
