:00:48. > :01:01.there will be an act of remembrance at Northern Ireland's next game.

:01:02. > :01:03.Also on tonight's programme: And after a cracking start

:01:04. > :01:06.to November we'll pay for it tonight with a frost in places.

:01:07. > :01:09.I'll be back with a look ahead to the forecast for

:01:10. > :01:18.The Ulster rugby players Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding say

:01:19. > :01:23.they reject any allegations of sexual offences against them.

:01:24. > :01:26.It emerged today that they were two of three men arrested

:01:27. > :01:30.They were questioned about an alleged incident at a house

:01:31. > :01:41.Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding are well-known names in rugby.

:01:42. > :01:49.They're also part of the international team.

:01:50. > :01:52.The arrests happened at the end of June, but details

:01:53. > :01:55.In a statement, Paddy Jackson's solicitors said he completely

:01:56. > :01:57.rejects any allegations made against him and he has fully

:01:58. > :01:59.co-operated with police in their inquiries.

:02:00. > :02:02.This afternoon, Stuart Olding's solicitors said he too completely

:02:03. > :02:05.rejects any allegations of wrongdoing made against him

:02:06. > :02:10.and that he too has fully co-operated with the police.

:02:11. > :02:12.With Olding currently injured and not playing,

:02:13. > :02:20.Ulster's Director of Rugby was asked today about Paddy Jackson.

:02:21. > :02:28.He is available for the Test series as of next week. The player

:02:29. > :02:31.management programme that is on. He cannot play this week.

:02:32. > :02:33.Ulster Rugby said the two men have been assisting

:02:34. > :02:36.The statement adds that the players deny any wrongdoing and have not

:02:37. > :02:40.The Ireland squad plays New Zealand in Chicago on Saturday,

:02:41. > :02:42.and 24-year-old Jackson has been left out -

:02:43. > :02:45.the Irish Rugby Football Union said it was for "personal reasons".

:02:46. > :02:47.The police say a file is being prepared for

:02:48. > :02:55.Translink has unveiled an updated plan to reshape a huge area

:02:56. > :02:59.of Belfast city centre with a new transport hub.

:03:00. > :03:03.It will involve rebuilding the Europa Bus Centre

:03:04. > :03:07.and Great Victoria Street railway station as well as adding offices

:03:08. > :03:11.and shops to a site which stretches across 20 acres.

:03:12. > :03:13.The public are being asked for their views on the scheme.

:03:14. > :03:17.Our economics and business editor, John Campbell, reports.

:03:18. > :03:20.Europa Bus Centre and Great Victoria Street are the busiest

:03:21. > :03:26.They take about eight million passengers a year, a number

:03:27. > :03:33.So, Translink are planning to increase capacity

:03:34. > :03:41.by radically reshaping their city centre property.

:03:42. > :03:48.This is a huge site. It stretches far behind me right up to the

:03:49. > :03:51.boundary line where you can see the traffic moving. This entire area

:03:52. > :03:53.will be transformed. You get a better impression

:03:54. > :03:55.by looking from above. The main entrance for

:03:56. > :03:57.the current facility is through the Europa Bus Centre

:03:58. > :04:00.on Great Victoria Street. Those building will be replaced

:04:01. > :04:02.by new commercial development. The new station will be set further

:04:03. > :04:07.back, fronting onto Sandy Row and Durham Street, filling

:04:08. > :04:10.the site which is bounded by the Grosvenor Road

:04:11. > :04:13.and the Westlink. The idea is to use the station

:04:14. > :04:17.for wider generation, as has happened with projects

:04:18. > :04:22.like Kings Cross in central London. Translink's chief

:04:23. > :04:34.executive says it's The new site will actually double

:04:35. > :04:38.the capacity for bus and rail transport in Northern Ireland. As

:04:39. > :04:43.well as that, it is a master plan to regenerate the area around the site

:04:44. > :04:50.so that we can create jobs and opportunities for people in the

:04:51. > :04:52.local area. Some enabling works have begun.

:04:53. > :04:54.Building this will need around ?150m of public money.

:04:55. > :04:56.The Executive have declared it a flagship infrastructure

:04:57. > :04:59.project so those funds are likely to be allocated.

:05:00. > :05:01.Translink also hope to attract private sector partners

:05:02. > :05:04.for the commercial part of the development.

:05:05. > :05:07.The preliminary stages of this scheme have involved European money.

:05:08. > :05:10.And there is hope that more of that will be forthcoming

:05:11. > :05:23.We hope to get that. We are not dependent on it because we have

:05:24. > :05:25.other sources of funding but certainly the opportunity of that

:05:26. > :05:28.being extended would help. The consultation runs

:05:29. > :05:30.until 2nd December. A planning application will be

:05:31. > :05:32.submitted next year, with construction expected

:05:33. > :05:39.to start in 2018. As you heard in John's report,

:05:40. > :05:43.the public consultation on how the transport hub will work

:05:44. > :05:46.is now open. Will Leitch has been

:05:47. > :06:09.to the community right Local people will tell you it needs

:06:10. > :06:11.regeneration and new opportunities. The question is whether the new hub

:06:12. > :06:12.will achieve that. Look at the map

:06:13. > :06:14.of the current plans. platforms and bus parks

:06:15. > :06:17.and surrounding commercial development, Sandy Row lies a few

:06:18. > :06:20.dozen yards farther to the south. From a thriving tight-knit

:06:21. > :06:22.community 50 years ago, it now has its fair share of empty

:06:23. > :06:26.shops and commercial units, so, for some, the prospect

:06:27. > :06:29.of a major development right on the doorstep

:06:30. > :06:40.is an attractive one. Sandy Row is an area that needs some

:06:41. > :06:55.regeneration. If you look up the street, the regeneration will create

:06:56. > :06:56.shops and jobs. It has the potential to do a lot of good in the area.

:06:57. > :06:59.The public consultation started today, urging local people in these

:07:00. > :07:03.The plans would see the Boyne Bridge removed.

:07:04. > :07:05.One man says its history means a great deal to local people

:07:06. > :07:19.and he's urging them to speak to Translink.

:07:20. > :07:26.There should be a good development on this site without taking away the

:07:27. > :07:29.bridge. Let us see if that is possible and what can be done.

:07:30. > :07:31.The public consultation lasts a month, until 2nd December.

:07:32. > :07:43.All smiles and colour but the competition will be fierce at this

:07:44. > :07:45.with's all Ireland dancing Championships.

:07:46. > :07:48.The former south Belfast Assembly Member Anna Lo says she was a victim

:07:49. > :07:54.The Alliance politician was taking part in a documentary on BBC

:07:55. > :07:57.Northern Ireland presented by the former Deputy Chief

:07:58. > :08:04.Ms Lo's former husband Gavin Millar strongly denies her claims.

:08:05. > :08:18.Anna Lo has reached the quarter and is deemed elected.

:08:19. > :08:24.Anna Lo became an MLA for the Alliance Party back in 2007 and

:08:25. > :08:29.served in Stormont until she stood down in 2014. But during her time as

:08:30. > :08:35.a member of the assembly, Anna Lo claims she was a victim of domestic

:08:36. > :08:39.violence by her then husband Gavin Millar.

:08:40. > :08:44.It was more controlling personality compounded by a short fuse and a bad

:08:45. > :08:55.temper. I left him twice after the results of violence. He was in a bit

:08:56. > :09:04.of a rage. I jumped out of the car. When he stopped to turn right, I got

:09:05. > :09:09.out and he turned the car round and then he grabbed me, literally

:09:10. > :09:15.dragged me to the car and punched me inside the car.

:09:16. > :09:21.The former Deputy Chief Constable takes a look at a number of domestic

:09:22. > :09:25.abuse cases and examines whether the laws are tough enough.

:09:26. > :09:32.I told him that if he ever hit me again I would leave him a game in

:09:33. > :09:44.November. That was about 16 months after we got married in July 20 ten.

:09:45. > :09:49.-- 2010. It was almost a light bulb moment for me. There would always be

:09:50. > :09:56.an excuse to hate me. If I do not leave no my life could be in danger.

:09:57. > :10:02.Anna Lo did not press charges against her husband. He denies the

:10:03. > :10:08.claims. The programme goes out tonight on BBC One at 10:45pm.

:10:09. > :10:11.Fifa has refused permission for the Scotland England soccer

:10:12. > :10:13.teams to wear poppy armbands during their international

:10:14. > :10:17.Wales has also asked permission to wear the poppy for their game

:10:18. > :10:23.Meanwhile the IFA says it has contacted Fifa about an act

:10:24. > :10:30.of remembrance at Northern Ireland's game at Windsor Park

:10:31. > :10:34.The Irish Football Association has made it clear that there will be

:10:35. > :10:37.an act of remembrance at the game on Armistice Day.

:10:38. > :10:39.However, at this stage it's not clear what that will be.

:10:40. > :10:42.The arrangements around any Fifa international football match

:10:43. > :10:46.are tightly controlled by the game's world governing body.

:10:47. > :10:50.These include a ban on any political, religious or commercial

:10:51. > :10:56.Fifa protocols become active ten minutes before kick-off, regulating

:10:57. > :10:59.what happens as the players take to the pitch for the national

:11:00. > :11:13.anthems, the handshakes, and the coin toss.

:11:14. > :11:15.The football authorities in England, Scotland and Wales are in contact

:11:16. > :11:17.with Fifa over having poppies printed on their shirts

:11:18. > :11:23.for their games around Armistice Day.

:11:24. > :11:25.The last time a Northern Ireland home international match

:11:26. > :11:30.fell on the Armistice Day was in 1987 against Turkey.

:11:31. > :11:45.In a statement this morning, the Irish Football Association said,

:11:46. > :11:51.The IFA has made clear its commitment to "football for all"

:11:52. > :12:01.with the aim of making Windsor Park an inclusive stadium for supporters

:12:02. > :12:04.The act of remembrance in Belfast will be a period

:12:05. > :12:06.of silent commemoration rather than the wearing of the poppy.

:12:07. > :12:09.A big conference to discuss the implications of Brexit will be

:12:10. > :12:12.Among those attending will be politicians from north and south,

:12:13. > :12:14.representatives from the business organisation, farming

:12:15. > :12:20.But the DUP and the Ulster Unionist Party won't be there.

:12:21. > :12:23.Our Dublin correspondent Shane Harrison joins me.

:12:24. > :12:25.This conference at the Royal Hospital in Kimainham is hosted

:12:26. > :12:33.by the Irish government - what's the reasoning behind it?

:12:34. > :12:42.Enda Kenny wants tomorrow's conference to hear from those who

:12:43. > :12:45.will be affected by the UK's decision to leave the European

:12:46. > :12:51.Union, to map out the challenges and hear about the impact it is going to

:12:52. > :12:56.have north and south, especially for Civic Society. You mentioned that

:12:57. > :13:05.the DUP and the UUP want to be there but the Alliance Party will be there

:13:06. > :13:09.with Naomi Long and although the DUP's First Minister would be there

:13:10. > :13:19.she has called the conference a grandstanding exercise. She does

:13:20. > :13:31.believe that a conference later this month does serve some purpose.

:13:32. > :13:36.Do we have any indication as to what Dublin may be looking

:13:37. > :13:43.for in the weeks and months ahead in terms of Brexit negotiations?

:13:44. > :13:52.The Republic of Ireland is only one of 27 states that the European Union

:13:53. > :14:01.will be negotiating on behalf but it is the only one that has a land with

:14:02. > :14:04.the UK. The broader implications for the peace process are of great

:14:05. > :14:13.concern for the Irish government, as are the travel area and the 1

:14:14. > :14:17.billion euros traded between the two states. Despite the fact the EU said

:14:18. > :14:21.there would be no formal negotiations until article 50 is

:14:22. > :14:31.triggered, senior sources you have said that senior counterparts from

:14:32. > :14:35.both sides have met. They have not been involved in negotiations but

:14:36. > :14:37.they have been exploring and teasing out issues in advance of that.

:14:38. > :14:47.A key player makes a comeback for Northern Ireland's next World Cup

:14:48. > :14:49.qualifier. A decision is due soon

:14:50. > :14:52.on whether to keep top up payments for landowners who farm uplands

:14:53. > :14:55.and other environmentally The minister concerned has said

:14:56. > :15:01.keeping them will be challenging Farmers say if support

:15:02. > :15:07.were to end it might mean Our agriculture and environment

:15:08. > :15:13.correspondent Conor Macauley has been to find out what that

:15:14. > :15:17.would mean for those landscapes. Andrew McCammond raises beef cattle

:15:18. > :15:21.in the Belfast Hills. It's hard to make a living

:15:22. > :15:24.on ground like this. The costs associated with farming

:15:25. > :15:26.are higher, so he gets But that's now under threat for him

:15:27. > :15:33.and 10,000 other farmers in what are known as areas

:15:34. > :15:37.of natural constraint. Andrew says if the subsidy stops,

:15:38. > :15:52.he might have to stop too. we not get support in the future,

:15:53. > :15:55.production levels will drop and it will have a dramatic effect on the

:15:56. > :15:56.whole agriculture industry. This is not rich land,

:15:57. > :15:58.but it is productive. Lots of beef calves and breeding

:15:59. > :16:00.sheep start their lives ?20 million a year has been spent

:16:01. > :16:04.helping farmers like Andrew, but a decision on whether to

:16:05. > :16:18.keep the support going Farmers on this kind of ground burn

:16:19. > :16:22.around ?50 an acre less than their counterparts on better quality

:16:23. > :16:27.lowland farm so they are at a disadvantage. But a big part of why

:16:28. > :16:34.these places look the way they do is because of the beneficial impact of

:16:35. > :16:41.grazing on them. If that was to change...

:16:42. > :16:53.A very rough pasture taking over from the current graphs so you would

:16:54. > :16:55.see a change in a few years. There would be changes in wildlife that

:16:56. > :16:57.would be difficult to get back. A change in support is being

:16:58. > :16:59.considered because the current scheme isn't considered a good

:17:00. > :17:01.use of public money. Farmers in areas like this will be

:17:02. > :17:04.getting extra cash under a redistribution of European

:17:05. > :17:07.subsidies but they say it won't come close to the ?20 million

:17:08. > :17:09.currently on offer. So whatever happens next could have

:17:10. > :17:11.implications for farmers and for those who love the hills

:17:12. > :17:18.for how they look. The financial problems facing

:17:19. > :17:22.many of our schools is an issue we've highlighted recently on

:17:23. > :17:24.BBC Newsline. But could sponsorship deals

:17:25. > :17:26.be a solution to ever One school in Enniskillen has been

:17:27. > :17:31.able to buy high tech equipment through a partnership

:17:32. > :17:33.with a local company. Here's our south west

:17:34. > :17:45.reporter Julian Fowler. This video was made by a Sikh

:17:46. > :17:52.performer at St Michael's College on a work placement. Three pupils were

:17:53. > :17:58.given paid employment over the summer. Quins has formed a

:17:59. > :18:04.partnership with the school that involves sponsoring the technology

:18:05. > :18:10.and design centre. It has allowed the purchase of high-tech equipment

:18:11. > :18:14.such as a 3-D printer. It will allow them to use equipment

:18:15. > :18:21.that they will use in the workforce. It improves their enjoyment and

:18:22. > :18:25.engagement of the subject. The linkup has impressed the

:18:26. > :18:34.education minister, who believes it is a model others could follow.

:18:35. > :18:42.Some of the equipment and the training and also the opportunities

:18:43. > :18:48.provided to the companies. Getting into the position where we

:18:49. > :18:52.are able to give them exposure before they make those college

:18:53. > :18:56.choices is key. When he leaves St Michael's, Josh

:18:57. > :19:00.Kyle hopes to continue studies to become a chemical engineer. The

:19:01. > :19:06.six-week summer job helped them gain an insight into the query options

:19:07. > :19:12.available in Fermanagh. -- career options.

:19:13. > :19:16.It is brilliant to know that there is stuff back here and a future

:19:17. > :19:26.here. Quinn's currently employs 780 people

:19:27. > :19:31.and hopes students like Josh will remain part of the local economy.

:19:32. > :19:37.This hopes to reverse the brain drain of Fermanagh by giving

:19:38. > :19:39.students the job skills they need and informing them of opportunities.

:19:40. > :19:41.Record-breaking numbers of people flocked to Londonderry last night

:19:42. > :19:45.The city's been voted the best Halloween destination in the world -

:19:46. > :19:50.and this year celebrated its 30th anniversary of staging the event.

:19:51. > :19:52.It's estimated 30,000 people attended the out of this world

:19:53. > :19:54.celebrations which included a parade through the city

:19:55. > :20:09.are taking part in the 2016 All Ireland Irish

:20:10. > :20:12.Dance Championships at Belfast's Waterfront Hall.

:20:13. > :20:13.Our arts correspondent Robbie Meredith went

:20:14. > :20:23.It's highly colourful but it's also highly competitive and,

:20:24. > :20:34.despite how it looks, it's about much more than costume.

:20:35. > :20:43.I think some people don't see beyond the dresses and don't understand the

:20:44. > :20:49.skill level and the arts behind the dancing. These dancers train for

:20:50. > :20:50.five times a week. The 21st century fashions have gone a little bit

:20:51. > :20:56.crazy. And clothes like 12-year-old Erin's

:20:57. > :21:11.really do catch the eye. I got it three weeks ago and my

:21:12. > :21:15.mummy had to put all the diamonds on it and it took very long. She had to

:21:16. > :21:17.stay up very late every night to get them done.

:21:18. > :21:20.Competition here at the Waterfront Hall goes on from dawn to after dark

:21:21. > :21:22.every day this week, and some of the competitors

:21:23. > :21:25.on the stage behind me have travelled a very long way

:21:26. > :21:32.Including many from the United States.

:21:33. > :21:40.I visited Ireland and I love Irish dance, we love Riverdance, my

:21:41. > :21:46.husband and I. I love the competition aspect and

:21:47. > :21:50.travelling around the world. Competing against my friends is fun

:21:51. > :21:53.and you get international friends. That is a bonus. They danced

:21:54. > :21:57.together and in the same dance school. The same with going to

:21:58. > :22:00.university. I know there are a lot of Irish dance clubs the states.

:22:01. > :22:01.The competition continues until Saturday.

:22:02. > :22:07.The winners will go on to dance in the World Championships next year.

:22:08. > :22:09.The Northern Ireland football team's next home match is one

:22:10. > :22:17.It's their latest World Cup Qualifying game and to tell us

:22:18. > :22:23.Azerbaijan the visitors to Windsor Park on the 11th of this month.

:22:24. > :22:26.And the big boost for manager Michael O'Neill is the return

:22:27. > :22:30.of midfielder Chris Brunt after a long term injury.

:22:31. > :22:33.And fans' favourite Will Grigg, who has yet to feature in this

:22:34. > :22:34.qualifying campaign, is also back.

:22:35. > :22:46.Capped 54 times for Northern Ireland, Chris Brunt likes to shy

:22:47. > :22:52.away from the limelight. But come the visit of Azerbaijan, the focus

:22:53. > :22:56.will be on the midfielder's return to the international stage.

:22:57. > :23:01.It is massive for us to have Chris back. We missed him obviously in

:23:02. > :23:07.France. A player that has played his whole career at the top level of

:23:08. > :23:11.English football. We are not blessed with many left-sided players in our

:23:12. > :23:19.squad that are available to us saw him being back is a big plus. Not

:23:20. > :23:21.only with his experience but the quality he brings.

:23:22. > :23:24.Chris Brunt hasn't worn the green shirt for 11 months and isn't the
