:00:00. > :00:00.Now on BBC One, it's time for the news where you are.

:00:07. > :00:11.A DUP MP says Northern Ireland is heading towards direct rule.

:00:12. > :00:16.Talks to form a Stormont Executive are due to resume after Easter.

:00:17. > :00:19.While the UK Government says it will consider all options,

:00:20. > :00:23.Sinn Fein insist it's either a deal or an election.

:00:24. > :00:26.Sir Jeffrey Donaldson told our reporter Sara Neill that

:00:27. > :00:33.Sinn Fein are changing the goalposts every day.

:00:34. > :00:39.I think that with the situation if it continues like this over the next

:00:40. > :00:45.couple of weeks we are looking at direct rule. The DUP is ready to to

:00:46. > :00:48.form a government without preconditions. We recognise there

:00:49. > :00:51.are a lot of beaches we need to work through but surely the best way to

:00:52. > :00:57.do that is being in government and having the reins of power and to be

:00:58. > :01:02.able to make the changes necessary and to deliver for the people who

:01:03. > :01:06.elected us, so we are ready to go into government but apparently Sinn

:01:07. > :01:09.Fein or not. They are saying that Sinn Fein are not ready to go into

:01:10. > :01:12.government and there are issues that need to be worked through, is the

:01:13. > :01:19.problem that neither side is willing to comprise? DUP has approached

:01:20. > :01:22.negotiations willing to find consensus and agreement, but every

:01:23. > :01:26.day Sinn Fein put the demands on the table. I think their game here is

:01:27. > :01:32.clear. They want another election and the opportunity to become the

:01:33. > :01:35.largest party in Northern Ireland. They are not interesting in an

:01:36. > :01:40.agreement or forming a government, they just want to be top dog and

:01:41. > :01:43.where does that leave the people of Northern Ireland, without a

:01:44. > :01:45.government, without a voice in Brexit or on the important issues

:01:46. > :01:47.that confront us at that time. A family with two young children

:01:48. > :01:50.were at home in Larne when their house came under attack

:01:51. > :01:53.in the early hours of this morning. It was the latest in a series

:01:54. > :01:57.of arson attacks over The house targeted this morning

:01:58. > :02:00.was at Mill Road where two A petrol soaked rag

:02:01. > :02:04.was recovered from the scene. The police are investigating a link

:02:05. > :02:07.between that attack and others early on Saturday and Sunday when five

:02:08. > :02:22.cars were extensively damaged. There has been arson attacks on

:02:23. > :02:27.Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. I totally condemn these attacks and I

:02:28. > :02:32.appeal to anybody has any information no matter how small that

:02:33. > :02:34.is to come forward to the PSNI with that information so that these

:02:35. > :02:38.people can be apprehended and brought before the courts. Last

:02:39. > :02:44.night it was a typical example where a lady was in the house with a young

:02:45. > :02:46.family that was petrol bombed. This is totally and utterly unacceptable.

:02:47. > :02:49.I condemn this behaviour. Two men from Latvia have been

:02:50. > :02:52.seriously assaulted in Coalisland in what the police are treating

:02:53. > :02:54.as a hate crime. It's believed a group of men carried

:02:55. > :02:57.out the attack outside a bar The victims, who are in their 20s,

:02:58. > :03:02.suffered cuts and bruises as well as The police say a fire at a derelict

:03:03. > :03:07.property in Portrush last night may Crime scene investigators will

:03:08. > :03:13.examine the site at Bath Terrace. Fire crews were called out

:03:14. > :03:16.at about 9pm and eight appliances worked through the night

:03:17. > :03:28.to put out the blaze. Due to the location of it,

:03:29. > :03:30.it was quite a confined space, a lot of buildings, access was quite

:03:31. > :03:32.difficult for us. There was a nursing home,

:03:33. > :03:37.a care home quite close to the fire and that was a cause of concern

:03:38. > :03:41.for quite some time for us. Thousands of people gathered

:03:42. > :03:45.in Londonderry this afternoon for a parade organised

:03:46. > :03:48.by the dissident Saoradh was formed by dissident

:03:49. > :03:56.republicans last September, About 2000 people watched and took

:03:57. > :04:03.part in the parade which started in the Bogside at Free Derry Corner

:04:04. > :04:06.and went to the Creggan estate where a wreath was laid

:04:07. > :04:09.at a republican memorial. The march included a military colour

:04:10. > :04:12.party and six bands, It ended at the republican plot

:04:13. > :04:18.in Derry City Cemetery, with the main oration by the former

:04:19. > :04:21.republican prisoner Paul Duffy, brother of the prominent

:04:22. > :04:24.dissident Colin Duffy. He said he wanted to bring an end

:04:25. > :04:36.to British involvement in Ireland. These objectives have yet to be

:04:37. > :04:42.achieved. It remains an unfinished Revolution. Conrad is, we still have

:04:43. > :04:42.unfinished business. APPLAUSE

:04:43. > :04:45.. The crowd was told that the party's

:04:46. > :04:47.membership had increased greatly since it was formed last September,

:04:48. > :04:50.that it was strategizing its plan for the future and its aim

:04:51. > :05:00.of an Irish socialist republic. We will have the weather forecast in

:05:01. > :05:03.a moment. For more than 200 years a team

:05:04. > :05:06.at Armagh Observatory has taken handwritten weather recordings

:05:07. > :05:10.- every day. But that could all be

:05:11. > :05:12.about to change. Our weather presenter

:05:13. > :05:14.Barra Best has the details. Since the late 1700s,

:05:15. > :05:18.someone every single day and in all types of weather has been

:05:19. > :05:20.taking weather measurements From checking the thermometer

:05:21. > :05:28.for the temperature to checking how many minutes or hours of sunshine

:05:29. > :05:36.has been and more. These are just as accurate

:05:37. > :05:41.as digital thermometers and there was no significant

:05:42. > :05:43.difference in them, really. The old way is as good

:05:44. > :05:46.as the new way. This is one of the few remaining

:05:47. > :05:53.and final sites that records weather manually in Northern Ireland

:05:54. > :05:55.and is thought to have the longest Those handwritten records

:05:56. > :05:59.are still at the site and one of our weather team

:06:00. > :06:01.was given a look. This is the first

:06:02. > :06:03.sheet of measurements. Inside temperature, outside

:06:04. > :06:14.temperature and the barometer. This is the start of

:06:15. > :06:16.the measurements and it has been going on ever since at Armagh

:06:17. > :06:19.Observatory. Most stations are now

:06:20. > :06:21.automatic, capable of giving And as the person who has

:06:22. > :06:28.been doing it manually, It will be a nice Saturday

:06:29. > :06:33.morning when you don't have to come up the hill,

:06:34. > :06:35.stand here and get wind For now, the history books

:06:36. > :06:42.will continue to be written Let's hear about what weather is in

:06:43. > :06:58.store for tomorrow from Cecila Daly. Hopefully you have had a nice time

:06:59. > :07:02.of this Easter. The weather has not been great but we got there in the

:07:03. > :07:09.end today with sunshine in many places. A lovely evening. Tonight

:07:10. > :07:13.will be both clear and cold. The coldest of the week. In some gardens

:07:14. > :07:17.there is likely to be a frost. Good for stargazing but it will be cold

:07:18. > :07:21.and there will be a frost in many parts of the countryside. First

:07:22. > :07:25.thing tomorrow if you are up early, a lot of people still on holiday, it

:07:26. > :07:28.will be chilly. Some early sunshine. The morning will bring the best the

:07:29. > :07:33.weather. Many pictures get their way with a dry morning but as time on it

:07:34. > :07:37.will be rather cloudy with one or two spots of rain by lunchtime. If

:07:38. > :07:42.you are away tomorrow it looks like it will be chilly across many parts

:07:43. > :07:46.of the UK and Ireland, particularly cold and damp across north-west

:07:47. > :07:54.Scotland. Lots of sunshine brother served. Towards Northern Ireland a

:07:55. > :07:58.lot of cloud developing by the afternoon with 12 showers around but

:07:59. > :08:02.a lot of the time it will be dry. It will feel a bit chilly under cloud

:08:03. > :08:06.although hopefully in many places temperatures will get into double

:08:07. > :08:10.figures. Tomorrow night the cloud hangs around and it will be dumped

:08:11. > :08:17.and busily with mist and low cloud but also a milder night. No frost

:08:18. > :08:23.but it will -- expect some frost. Milder weather. Temperatures in

:08:24. > :08:30.double figures and the low teens in places. Cloud and rain at times.

:08:31. > :08:34.Keep the umbrella handy. Not a lot of rain but there will be some

:08:35. > :08:38.dampness at times. Lots of cloud. Temperatures on the way up. On

:08:39. > :08:43.Saturday they will be some showers but also some dryer and brighter

:08:44. > :08:48.spells and temperatures could hit the mid-teens if you get some decent

:08:49. > :08:54.sunshine. Cold tonight, clear and it will be chilly tomorrow. Dry but

:08:55. > :08:58.cloudy weather. One or two showers around and it is getting milder.

:08:59. > :09:08.That is it from us, bye-bye. It's time to clock in...

:09:09. > :09:11.Whoooa!
