:00:21. > :00:23.More than one thousand tickets for blue ribbon events were seized

:00:24. > :00:25.last week including some for the Opening Ceremony

:00:26. > :00:38.As head of the Olympic Council of Ireland, mist or Pat Hickey is

:00:39. > :00:42.regarded as the most powerful man in Irish sport. His arrest happened

:00:43. > :00:48.this morning before 7am at his hotel. It is part of a Brazilian

:00:49. > :00:52.police investigation into illegal Olympic ticket sales. Pat Hickey is

:00:53. > :00:56.expected of being involved in a scheme to sell tickets for higher

:00:57. > :01:00.than their face value. Police have confirmed that the 71-year-old was

:01:01. > :01:03.taken to hospital after his arrest as a precaution. And Brazilian

:01:04. > :01:07.police also reported today that when they went to his room, his wife

:01:08. > :01:11.answered the door and said that her husband had already left for

:01:12. > :01:27.Ireland. But after a thorough search of the hotel, they in an adjacent

:01:28. > :01:29.room, believed to belong to the sun. They seized his passport,

:01:30. > :01:32.accreditation and airline ticket. The Irish sports Minister is here in

:01:33. > :01:36.Rio and this is what he had to say today. -- is here in Brazil. I am

:01:37. > :01:38.going home now so that I can discuss with the minister asked eight and

:01:39. > :01:40.the Attorney General, the Cabinet colleagues and officials the best

:01:41. > :01:44.way forward. The inquiry should be envisaged, it is probably no longer

:01:45. > :01:49.relevant, events have overturned that. But we are absolutely

:01:50. > :01:53.determined that we will set up an inquiry to find out what happened. I

:01:54. > :01:56.do not know what the best form of inquiry is. Events are moving too

:01:57. > :02:01.fast. But we will decide that over the next few days.

:02:02. > :02:05.Has decided to temporarily stand aside from his post and all Olympic

:02:06. > :02:09.functions until this matter is resolved. The IOC, the governing

:02:10. > :02:13.body of the Olympic Games, was caught slightly on the hop today but

:02:14. > :02:15.a spokesman did say they will fully cooperate with police. They have

:02:16. > :02:20.faith in the police investigation but until they receive evidence of

:02:21. > :02:22.any wrongdoing, the assumption of his innocence prevails.

:02:23. > :02:26.The Olympic boxing federation is to drop a number of judges

:02:27. > :02:29.and referees for poor decision making in Rio.

:02:30. > :02:31.Meanwhile it's been revealed that boxer Vladimir Nikitin

:02:32. > :02:33.who defeated Ireland's Michael Conlan

:02:34. > :02:35.in controversial circumstances yesterday is out of his

:02:36. > :02:42.Two sisters from Belfast have settled sexual harassment claims

:02:43. > :02:51.Kirstie and Courtney McKeever complained about the behaviour

:02:52. > :02:54.They agreed settlements of 14 and 16 thousand pounds.

:02:55. > :03:06.Kirstie and Courtney McKeever were both teenagers when they started

:03:07. > :03:10.working at a KFC restaurant. But they resigned, saying a mild

:03:11. > :03:17.colleague had sexually harassed them and made working their impossible.

:03:18. > :03:22.-- saying a mild colleague. Courtney spoke about what they had to endure.

:03:23. > :03:25.On a few occasions, both of us came home crying because of the things he

:03:26. > :03:30.said to us. It made me feel like he had power over me because Egypt had

:03:31. > :03:33.just another ruler or shifted ever, every opportunity you got. I just

:03:34. > :03:40.got fed up with that and said it was too much and I just walked out and

:03:41. > :03:44.didn't ever go back. And then I made a complaint and got legal advice.

:03:45. > :03:49.KFC say that after they heard about the allegations they investigated.

:03:50. > :03:55.And then take action. As a result, the employee at the centre of the

:03:56. > :03:58.complaints was dismissed. The equality commission praised the two

:03:59. > :04:01.sisters for speaking out about what happened to them. These were young

:04:02. > :04:05.men like any teenagers, just working a part time job to get money

:04:06. > :04:09.together. They had to leave their jobs. Of unacceptable that sexual

:04:10. > :04:15.harassment still, regrettably, forms part of many working women's lives.

:04:16. > :04:19.The case was settled out of court at a total cost ?30,000.

:04:20. > :04:22.A stretch of road between Belfast and Londonderry is to be upgraded

:04:23. > :04:26.Work is due to begin in October on nine miles of the A6 between

:04:27. > :04:30.As Will Leitch reports the construction will be on two

:04:31. > :04:39.sections of road either side of the bypass at Toomebridge.

:04:40. > :04:45.Rush-hour on this road, even with the bypass nearby. But for 18 days

:04:46. > :04:51.on board users taking this route everyday, shorter journeys are

:04:52. > :04:54.inside. The mock-ups sure the driving experience after work,

:04:55. > :05:00.starting this October, and taking four years and ?160 million. Plans

:05:01. > :05:05.for the schemes date back 13 years but for some indefinite construction

:05:06. > :05:09.schedule is good news. There was a bit of ambiguity during the summer

:05:10. > :05:13.months here that it may fall off the table, so I think that removes any

:05:14. > :05:16.uncertainty and we do now know something is going to start later

:05:17. > :05:19.this year. Of course, we still have to be sure that the contract is

:05:20. > :05:22.there remains the concerns of some of the landowners and make sure

:05:23. > :05:25.whatever accommodation works can be done to accommodate them so that

:05:26. > :05:29.this is a win-win for everybody. Unlike some other road improvement

:05:30. > :05:33.schemes, this one will not be following so much of the existing

:05:34. > :05:38.route. And that means miles of new dual carriageway through open

:05:39. > :05:39.countryside. Early preparatory work before full construction has already

:05:40. > :05:41.begun. Unemployment here's fallen

:05:42. > :05:43.to its lowest level in eight years. Those claiming unemployment related

:05:44. > :05:45.benefits has decreased The jobless total is

:05:46. > :05:54.now just over 36,000. Young people starting university

:05:55. > :05:56.or college this Autumn are being urged to get

:05:57. > :05:58.a vaccine against meningitis. The Public Health Agency says

:05:59. > :06:00.the jab will help protect against meningitis W in particular,

:06:01. > :06:03.a strain that's on the increase. People between the age of 18 to 25

:06:04. > :06:06.are being asked to go If you got it at school,

:06:07. > :06:21.you do not need to get it again. Tomorrow is a very important day for

:06:22. > :06:25.some young people in Northern Ireland, they are getting a liberal

:06:26. > :06:28.fault under very excited about going to college. Last year, they would

:06:29. > :06:31.have received a letter from their GP offering them the immunisation but

:06:32. > :06:38.during exam time I have been too busy to go to get it so I am asking

:06:39. > :06:40.them now to plan for college but also to remember to protect

:06:41. > :06:42.themselves against this serious protection. On your GP to get an

:06:43. > :06:44.appointment to get your vaccine. Just time for a look

:06:45. > :06:47.at the weather prospects now - here's Cecilia Daly

:06:48. > :06:52.with the details. Hello. There will be some men around

:06:53. > :06:57.her neck, warm night as well. Temperatures staying in the team

:06:58. > :06:59.that most places. Humid, mist and more, low cloud around. Mikey around

:07:00. > :07:04.part of the coastline first thing tomorrow. But it will improve as the

:07:05. > :07:08.morning goes on. Some rain to begin with but mid to late morning most of

:07:09. > :07:11.that wet weather starts to ease away northwards. Skies will start to

:07:12. > :07:13.Britain as well. We will see some sunshine breaking through across the

:07:14. > :07:17.Republic of Ireland in the afternoon. Some dry and fairly

:07:18. > :07:20.bright weather with some sunshine across many parts of Britain, but

:07:21. > :07:22.there will be dribs and drabs of rain over parts of Wales and

:07:23. > :07:27.south-west England, which should ease away later in the day. Top

:07:28. > :07:31.temperatures tomorrow, when the sun comes out, 19, 20. We may even see

:07:32. > :07:35.21 degrees summer, so still quite warm and a lot of places will have a

:07:36. > :07:39.dry afternoon, with the best of the weather to come towards the evening.

:07:40. > :07:50.It is all change on Friday. An unusually deep area of low pressure

:07:51. > :07:53.will bring both heavy rain and strong winds at times on Friday. And

:07:54. > :07:54.to begin with this weekend. Fortunately it will eventually

:07:55. > :07:57.improve on Sunday.
