:00:00. > :00:12.No-one is thought to have been seriously injured when a car crashed

:00:13. > :00:15.through the window of a shop in south Belfast earlier today.

:00:16. > :00:17.It's understood the vehicle was being driven by an elderly man.

:00:18. > :00:36.A woman who didn't want to be interviewed on camera told me she

:00:37. > :00:41.just managed to get out of the way. Staff inside said they thought

:00:42. > :00:48.there'd been an explosion. It was pushed right forward, a lot of

:00:49. > :00:53.glass. People were running. When I walked forward, I saw the car and it

:00:54. > :00:59.was obviously smashed up. I went out and saw a car had come straight

:01:00. > :01:04.through, I don't know how. I saw all the commotion. I phoned the police

:01:05. > :01:08.and ambulance straightaway and some members of the public could help the

:01:09. > :01:13.guys out and thankfully everyone seems OK. The two elderly people

:01:14. > :01:18.inside the car have been treated for shock and were taken to hospital.

:01:19. > :01:21.One customer inside the supermarkets suffered a minor injury from the

:01:22. > :01:27.debris, but it's thought he didn't need to go to hospital. The car has

:01:28. > :01:31.been taken away by a removal team to be assessed by accident

:01:32. > :01:35.investigators. A full assessment will take place of the shot behind

:01:36. > :01:37.me before it can reopen to customers.

:01:38. > :01:40.Four days into the general election campaign and the SDLP leader has

:01:41. > :01:43.called on the Alliance Party to rethink its refusal to join

:01:44. > :01:46.In the face of a possible Unionist pact, the SDLP,

:01:47. > :01:48.Sinn Fein and the Green Party have already held talks

:01:49. > :01:58.Here's our political correspondent, Gareth Gordon.

:01:59. > :02:07.This is the kind of happiness a pact can buy. Ulster Unionist Party Tom

:02:08. > :02:14.Elliott recaptures south Tyrone from Sinn Fein with help from the DLP.

:02:15. > :02:19.Good Brexit the about to do the same for the SDLP, Sinn Fein, Alliance

:02:20. > :02:26.and the Green Party? I don't think any general election is a substitute

:02:27. > :02:31.for a referendum on the final deal. Regardless of this pact, Northern

:02:32. > :02:35.Ireland's voice should be heard. The whole Brexit campaign was on take

:02:36. > :02:38.back control and the people of Northern Ireland should have a say.

:02:39. > :02:43.Let's take two constituencies to show how it might work. In the

:02:44. > :02:50.Brexit referendum, Fermanagh and South Tyrone had a majority of over

:02:51. > :02:54.8000. If the SDLP stood aside, it could help Sinn Fein removed Tom

:02:55. > :03:00.Elliott at the general election. In south Belfast there was a Remain

:03:01. > :03:05.majority of over 17,000. A pact could see Sinn Fein stand aside so

:03:06. > :03:10.the SDLP keeps the seat. The SDLP say they are not interested in a

:03:11. > :03:15.so-called sectarian pact only involving Sinn Fein, but the

:03:16. > :03:19.Alliance Party's rejecting the idea could prove fatal. Could the

:03:20. > :03:25.Alliance Party be persuaded to change their mind? It appears not.

:03:26. > :03:29.This will end up becoming viewed by the public as a nationalist pact and

:03:30. > :03:36.that is dangerous for a number of reasons. It's not only a sectarian

:03:37. > :03:39.icing of the debate around Brexit, but it potentially disenfranchises

:03:40. > :03:43.unionists who are not happy with the idea of a hard Brexit but would not

:03:44. > :03:46.vote for a pact that is seen to be Nationalist. Are you saying that

:03:47. > :03:55.because you're getting moderate unionist votes now? I'm saying it

:03:56. > :04:01.because I believe it. There are all sorts of ideas out there, potential

:04:02. > :04:07.independent candidates who would be very pro-Remain and anti-Brexit. I

:04:08. > :04:12.think we need to think about this. We need to set aside our own narrow

:04:13. > :04:17.political ambitions for a few weeks. Our door remains open to any

:04:18. > :04:20.political party who wishes to discuss the idea, who wishes to

:04:21. > :04:26.analyse each other's positions and then go away and make a decision

:04:27. > :04:31.about whether they wish to participate in a political alliance.

:04:32. > :04:36.This observer believes a kind of Brexit light could yet emerge. If it

:04:37. > :04:40.looks too much like a nationalist pact in disguise, I don't think the

:04:41. > :04:46.SDLP gamble on with it. That doesn't mean there can't be a form of

:04:47. > :04:52.unilateral actions from the SDLP and Sinn Fein that would allow for Khan

:04:53. > :04:57.debates who were for a macro and who would be in favour of some sort --

:04:58. > :05:02.some form of special status for Northern Ireland to have a free run.

:05:03. > :05:03.The parties have big decisions to make before the voters get their

:05:04. > :05:05.turn. A County Londonderry care worker has

:05:06. > :05:08.pleaded not guilty to four counts 51-year-old Freda Boyd,

:05:09. > :05:12.from Drumeen Drive in Garvagh, is accused of ill-treating four

:05:13. > :05:14.different people while they were in-patients

:05:15. > :05:16.for mental health disorders A solicitor said she would be

:05:17. > :05:24.contesting the four charges. Four people, including

:05:25. > :05:26.an 11-year-old boy, have escaped injury after a petrol bomb

:05:27. > :05:28.attack in Ballymena. It happened in the Harryville area

:05:29. > :05:46.in the early hours of this morning. A broken window, the evidence of an

:05:47. > :05:51.attack on a house in Ballymena just before 4am. Inside the house at the

:05:52. > :05:55.time were a woman, her ex-partner and two of their children, an

:05:56. > :06:01.18-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy. Through the smashed window a

:06:02. > :06:05.petrol bomb was thrown, causing a fire inside and damage to an outside

:06:06. > :06:09.wall. When the Fire Service arrived, the fire was out but there were

:06:10. > :06:15.concerns about a gas leak because of gas pipes underneath the kitchen

:06:16. > :06:25.window. No one was injured. One local MLA knows the family and spoke

:06:26. > :06:27.to them about what happened. They are shocked and horrified that

:06:28. > :06:29.something like this could happen to them, to their property and to this

:06:30. > :06:33.neighbourhood. They don't understand. He says the local

:06:34. > :06:36.community will support the community, but there's a sense of

:06:37. > :06:42.confusion as to why this family was targeted. It's a complete shock to

:06:43. > :06:46.us why they would have picked this family and this property. That's for

:06:47. > :06:51.the police to investigate. I condemn it and the -- and condemned the

:06:52. > :06:57.people who think this would be a good thing to do. This could have

:06:58. > :07:01.led to death. You can see the damage to the house, the damage to the gas

:07:02. > :07:05.line. If that had gone up, it wouldn't just have been that

:07:06. > :07:10.property, it would have been the whole neighbourhood. In a separate

:07:11. > :07:14.incident just over a mile away a car was burnt out. At this stage the

:07:15. > :07:17.police say they are not connecting the incidents.

:07:18. > :07:19.Preparations are well under way for golfer Rory McIlroy's wedding

:07:20. > :07:24.Holywood golfer Rory McIlroy is expected to tie the knot

:07:25. > :07:29.Well-known faces are expected to be there and there are rumours that

:07:30. > :07:39.Locals in Cong say the wedding is a welcome boost for the village.

:07:40. > :07:49.It's wonderful because it will hopefully bring all the tourists

:07:50. > :07:52.that we so badly need. Since the peace process, there weren't so many

:07:53. > :07:58.coming down because they didn't have to do and now we hope to get them

:07:59. > :08:03.back. In the last week we've been very busy. A lot of people staying,

:08:04. > :08:10.marquee people putting up marquees, florists and whatnot. Let's get the

:08:11. > :08:15.weather forecast. There will be a bit of rain at times

:08:16. > :08:19.denied, mainly across southern and western counties. Lots of cloud

:08:20. > :08:25.around under fairly mild night. Where there are breaks in the cloud,

:08:26. > :08:29.it could be slightly cooler compared to recent nights. Tomorrow we're

:08:30. > :08:33.going into Saturday on a cloudy night. Some early showers, but they

:08:34. > :08:39.will Peter out fairly quickly tomorrow morning and a good part of

:08:40. > :08:41.the day will be dry. It should do to in the afternoon, especially in the

:08:42. > :08:58.east. The best of the sunshine once again across south-west

:08:59. > :09:00.Ireland. Some wintry showers moving in across Scotland. Then some dry

:09:01. > :09:03.and bright weather across southern Scotland and northern England before

:09:04. > :09:05.we pick up cloud across the Midlands and south-west England. Temperatures

:09:06. > :09:09.tomorrow will be a little lower compared to today, but a lot of dry

:09:10. > :09:14.weather, some brightness as well, especially in the east. Thicker

:09:15. > :09:18.cloud across Tyrone and Fermanagh with the risk of a few showers.

:09:19. > :09:26.Apart from early showers tomorrow, a good chance it will be to ride for

:09:27. > :09:31.the tan Judy and Hundred. Next week, it's set to get much colder. Very

:09:32. > :09:35.cold air coming from the Arctic will develop through the course of Monday

:09:36. > :09:39.and Tuesday. That will make it feel very cold and it will also bring

:09:40. > :09:41.heavy showers and some of those could be wintry, particularly over

:09:42. > :09:44.the high ground. Our next BBC Newsline is at 4.40pm

:09:45. > :09:48.tomorrow here on BBC One. You can also keep updated

:09:49. > :10:04.with News Online. With unprecedented access

:10:05. > :10:06.to our prison service, and some of the men and women
