:00:00. > :00:11.A judge in Brazil has formally accepted a number of charges

:00:12. > :00:14.against the senior Irish Olympic official Pat Hickey.

:00:15. > :00:17.Dublin businessman Kevin Mallon, and eight other people will also

:00:18. > :00:20.face charges including ticket touting and money laundering.

:00:21. > :00:33.Late last night, a judge in Rio confirmed the public prosecutor's

:00:34. > :00:36.earlier recommendation, that Pat Hickey, once the most powerful man

:00:37. > :00:40.in sport in Ireland, will stand trial in Brazil. The charges are

:00:41. > :00:45.serious, criminal organisation, ticket touting, money laundering and

:00:46. > :00:50.tax evasion amongst them. Dublin businessman Kevin Mallon faces the

:00:51. > :00:54.same charges. The judge listed a further eight codefendants who're

:00:55. > :00:58.not believed to be in Brazil. The allegations centre around the

:00:59. > :01:04.illegal sale of tickets for the Rio Olympic Games. When Mr Hickey was

:01:05. > :01:09.arrested, he stood down temporarily from his position of the President

:01:10. > :01:15.of the Olympic Council of Ireland. The Brazilian police claimed the

:01:16. > :01:19.tickets were being passed to TKHG, not authorised to sell tickets at

:01:20. > :01:27.the Games. All of those named as being involved have denied any

:01:28. > :01:33.wrongdoing. Mr Hickey and Mr Mallon remain under house arrest. They have

:01:34. > :01:37.to observe a curfew each night. They have been banned from the

:01:38. > :01:40.Paralympics and both have had passports retained so they can't

:01:41. > :01:42.leave Brazil for the foreseeable. The case could take up to a

:01:43. > :01:46.year-and-a-half to come to court. The Secretary of State says he wants

:01:47. > :01:50.the search for agreement about the legacy of the troubles

:01:51. > :01:52.to enter a more public phase. James Brokenshire made his comments

:01:53. > :01:55.at a conference in Oxford attended From there our Political Editor

:01:56. > :02:11.Mark Devenport reports. James Brokenshire says he's found

:02:12. > :02:15.meeting the relatives of victims a profound experience. He wants the

:02:16. > :02:18.legacy to be up and running as quickly as possible under the

:02:19. > :02:21.Stormont agreement and hopes to get the public more involved in the

:02:22. > :02:25.process. It will be important to have a public phase to ensure that

:02:26. > :02:28.there's a good understanding of what we are doing and also that we build

:02:29. > :02:33.that confidence in the institutions so that they are able to take

:02:34. > :02:40.effect, also to get on with their job with that sense of the backing

:02:41. > :02:43.of those who really need it. Away from the legacy issues, the

:02:44. > :02:48.Secretary of State believes this week's poll, commissioned by the

:02:49. > :02:52.BBC, which shows only 22% supports the United Ireland has vindicated

:02:53. > :02:55.his decision not to call a board broader poll. The Taoiseach

:02:56. > :03:01.acknowledges there is no evidence to suggest a broader poll would bring

:03:02. > :03:06.about a 32-county republic if brought about now. Usually by

:03:07. > :03:14.consent, it must be maintained as a democratic valid option into the

:03:15. > :03:17.future. This means that if there were democratic consent to

:03:18. > :03:23.opportunity at some time in the future, there must be a mechanism to

:03:24. > :03:29.ensure that the democratic decision can be implemented within the

:03:30. > :03:32.European Union. The Irish Government will publish plans soon for

:03:33. > :03:34.organisations and individuals across Ireland to have their say on the

:03:35. > :03:37.implications of Brexit. of Nama's Northern Ireland loan

:03:45. > :03:49.that the Controller and Auditor General will say that

:03:50. > :03:52.failings in the sales process could have resulted in "hundred

:03:53. > :03:55.of millions of euro" not The report is expected to be

:04:06. > :04:08.very pleased with his Celtic players following todays 5-1 league win over

:04:09. > :04:10.Glasgow neighbours Rangers. It was the Carnlough man's first

:04:11. > :04:22.taste of the old firm derby The first Scottish premiership

:04:23. > :04:27.meetings of the old rivals in five seasons policewomaned a five star

:04:28. > :04:32.performance from Celtic. Derby day belonged to the Hoops and to

:04:33. > :04:45.Dembele. Joe Garner pulled a goal back for

:04:46. > :04:49.Rangers just before half time. But Mousa proved unmarkable. One with

:04:50. > :04:56.the head, one with the right foot and one with the left foot. The

:04:57. > :05:00.perfect hat trick on what was the beforeday for the manager. Celtic

:05:01. > :05:04.three points clear at the top of the table.

:05:05. > :05:09.Now the weather forecast. Hello there. That was a better day

:05:10. > :05:15.today. Some sunshine, not too many showers. Small risk of a shower at

:05:16. > :05:18.Proms in the Park at Titanic initially but it's looking largely

:05:19. > :05:22.dry and clear and it will cool off tonight. Most of the showers in the

:05:23. > :05:27.north-west, but temperatures under the clear skies could drop to six or

:05:28. > :05:32.seven. It's a fresh start to Sunday, a largely dry day to come as well.

:05:33. > :05:45.There'll be rain tomorrow night. The wind will be a feature of the with

:05:46. > :05:48.weather. A few showers for north-west Scotland, otherwise the

:05:49. > :05:52.bulk of Britain will have a fine day. The republic enjoying some

:05:53. > :05:57.lovely weather. Later in the day, the rain will move to the West Coast

:05:58. > :06:01.of Ireland. For most, the afternoon will be

:06:02. > :06:06.largely dry, still some sunshine, just the odd shower, but the wind

:06:07. > :06:11.getting up all the while and tomorrow night expect gusts to gale

:06:12. > :06:14.force. A core of heavy rain moving east through the early hours. That

:06:15. > :06:19.rain is due to this weather front. It doesn't really move away from us

:06:20. > :06:23.until midweek. Although the winds drop by Monday and Tuesday, it will

:06:24. > :06:31.be pretty unsettled with rain at times, drier by Wednesday. That is

:06:32. > :06:33.it until 6. 50 tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your evening. Bye.
