:00:00. > :00:09.Good evening and welcome to BBC Newsline.

:00:10. > :00:13.Politicians here have given a mixed response to the news that the formal

:00:14. > :00:17.process for the UK to leave the European Union will begin

:00:18. > :00:23.The DUP say the move will help provide clarity,

:00:24. > :00:25.while Sinn Fein say the Prime Minister is reacting

:00:26. > :00:29.to internal pressure from within her own party.

:00:30. > :00:31.Today's announcement was made at the Conservative Party

:00:32. > :00:37.Our political correspondent Stephen Walker is there.

:00:38. > :00:39.Brexit was always going to overshadow Theresa May's

:00:40. > :00:48.The news was welcomed by a former Secretary of State

:00:49. > :01:01.It sets us on the path to leaving the EU and becoming an independent

:01:02. > :01:05.country again where the people who make our laws are the ones we elect.

:01:06. > :01:08.In Northern Ireland political reaction was mixed.

:01:09. > :01:18.Further uncertainty and a period where people don't know what's

:01:19. > :01:23.going to happen and there is no negotiation process

:01:24. > :01:29.I think it's good that we've got a clear timescale

:01:30. > :01:33.Sinn Fein remained unconvinced and say Brexit ignores local

:01:34. > :01:43.opinion and claim there is still much uncertainty around.

:01:44. > :01:50.They were clearly stalling on the issue because when she's

:01:51. > :01:53.asked questions about the strategy, she doesn't have the answers.

:01:54. > :01:55.I'm not quite sure anybody else has the answers.

:01:56. > :01:58.Theresa May has begun the process of taking the UK out

:01:59. > :02:00.of the European Union and we now have a timetable, but

:02:01. > :02:12.When will the negotiations begin in earnest?

:02:13. > :02:15.What will the final deal look like and what will it mean for

:02:16. > :02:19.The family of a Rangers fan originally from County Antrim,

:02:20. > :02:21.who died in a coach crash on the outskirts of

:02:22. > :02:22.Kilmarnock yesterday, have travelled to Scotland.

:02:23. > :02:25.Larne man Ryan Baird, who was 39, had been living

:02:26. > :02:29.18 other people were taken to hospital and three

:02:30. > :02:33.are still being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

:02:34. > :02:36.The coach was carrying supporters to Ibrox Stadium.

:02:37. > :02:40.Mr Baird still had close ties with Larne Rangers Supporters Club,

:02:41. > :02:44.where friends have been leaving tributes to him.

:02:45. > :02:47.Police in Scotland are widening the search for a missing man

:02:48. > :02:50.from Fife, who has a number of links to Northern Ireland

:02:51. > :02:56.40-year-old Iain Marr was last seen on Wednesday.

:02:57. > :02:59.Europe's golfers have been unsuccessful in their

:03:00. > :03:05.A short time ago Darren Clarke's side lost to the USA in Minnesota.

:03:06. > :03:09.Rory McIlroy was involved in one of the day's most thrilling matches.

:03:10. > :03:16.Stephen Watson reports from Hazeltine.

:03:17. > :03:27.Eight colourful home support losing confidence. Rory McIlroy was doing

:03:28. > :03:35.his best to keep them quiet. Atta boy, Rory. But whatever he threw at

:03:36. > :03:41.Patrick Reed, the American matched him every step of the way. It was a

:03:42. > :03:48.fiercely competitive head to head and at the halfway point, worry was

:03:49. > :03:57.roaring, literally. Five under through eight, unbelievable. But

:03:58. > :04:03.read would not roll over. He not only stayed in touch but was soon

:04:04. > :04:09.ahead. McIlroy rallied and took the match up to the final hole, but

:04:10. > :04:11.Patrick Reed held his nerve and set the USA on their way to their first

:04:12. > :04:24.Ryder Cup success since 2008. We have got clear skies at the

:04:25. > :04:28.moment but we expect cloud to increase as the night goes on. That

:04:29. > :04:34.should mean the frost days a week tonight. There may be a little

:04:35. > :04:40.dampness, especially across western counties, and it will be breezy in

:04:41. > :04:46.places. Let's look at the coming week, lots of dry weather, great for

:04:47. > :04:49.those who work outdoors. It will be breezy, especially near the East

:04:50. > :04:55.Coast, but it's not a cold wind, temperatures mostly in the mid-teens

:04:56. > :04:59.by day and we are not expecting frost or fog. You will notice a

:05:00. > :05:06.breeze tomorrow but also some sunshine. Firstly there could be a

:05:07. > :05:10.bit of darkness, missed an low cloud but that should disappear quickly

:05:11. > :05:14.and develop into a sunny morning. There is an area of rain threatening

:05:15. > :05:21.the west coast of Ireland, bright a brisk wind across the Republic but

:05:22. > :05:27.across all the UK and Ireland it is a fine day. Not too much changing

:05:28. > :05:33.for Northern Ireland tomorrow afternoon, more cloud in the West,

:05:34. > :05:39.best sunshine in the north and East and temperatures not bad for early

:05:40. > :05:43.October. There is an area of high pressure over Scandinavia, weather

:05:44. > :05:48.fronts trying to come in from the Atlantic that this south-easterly

:05:49. > :05:51.wind will push these away, so although there will be cloud and

:05:52. > :05:55.spots of rain across the west Coast, most places will be fine and

:05:56. > :06:00.Wednesday looks like a fine day everywhere with some sunshine, white

:06:01. > :06:06.breezy across Ireland, north and south, then on Thursday another

:06:07. > :06:11.weather front pushes in from the west and could threaten rain for

:06:12. > :06:14.western counties of Ireland, otherwise it's dry virtually

:06:15. > :06:19.everywhere across the UK and Ireland. A settled week for Northern

:06:20. > :06:21.Ireland, but dry weather holding for next weekend, breezy at times.

:06:22. > :06:23.Our next BBC Newsline bulletin is at 6:25am.
