:00:00. > :00:00.Good evening and welcome to the programme.

:00:00. > :00:11.Protests against Brexit have been taking place along the border.

:00:12. > :00:13.Demonstrators say that Northern Ireland's referendum result

:00:14. > :00:15.- when a majority voted to remain in the EU -

:00:16. > :00:22.They are also opposed to any strengthening of border controls.

:00:23. > :00:24.Our South-West reporter Julian Fowler was at one

:00:25. > :00:28.of the protests on the road between Fermanagh and Cavan.

:00:29. > :00:33.This is the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

:00:34. > :00:37.But, after Brexit, this will be part of a 300-mile long land border

:00:38. > :00:43.Since the referendum result - when a 56% majority

:00:44. > :00:47.in Northern Ireland voted to remain in the EU - the question

:00:48. > :00:51.of what will happen to the border has been the subject of much debate.

:00:52. > :00:54.Thousands of people travel unhindered from one side

:00:55. > :00:56.to the other each day, and goods flow freely

:00:57. > :01:11.The group border communities against Richard -- Brexit, which organised

:01:12. > :01:16.the protest, say their voices must be heard when decisions are taken.

:01:17. > :01:21.Theresa May said this weekend that she wants a hard Brexit. That is not

:01:22. > :01:26.very reassuring. Dublin does not have a greater say in the matter.

:01:27. > :01:31.Brussels will determine what kind of border we have. I have friends,

:01:32. > :01:35.relations in a three-mile radius either side of the border, most of

:01:36. > :01:39.my livelihood, my husband's babyhood, in relation to how it will

:01:40. > :01:44.pan out. The only thing I know is we had to stand our ground here. We had

:01:45. > :01:47.30 years of the troubles macro here, we put up with an awful lot. We want

:01:48. > :01:51.to keep the peace in our area. The Prime Minister Theresa May has

:01:52. > :01:53.said nobody wants to return to the borders of the past,

:01:54. > :01:56.but she insisted that no UK region Politicians in London,

:01:57. > :01:59.Belfast and Dublin have all expressed their desire

:02:00. > :02:01.to maintain an open border. How that works in practice will form

:02:02. > :02:08.a key part of the Brexit negotiations on the

:02:09. > :02:12.freedom of movement. Two men are in a stable

:02:13. > :02:14.condition in hospital after an assault involving a number

:02:15. > :02:16.of men in Lisnaskea. It happened in the earlier hours

:02:17. > :02:19.of this morning in Trasna Way. One other man was discharged

:02:20. > :02:22.from hospital after Football, and Northern Ireland face

:02:23. > :02:30.San Marino in their second World Cup The game is the team's first

:02:31. > :02:44.at the newly completed Northern Ireland have one point so

:02:45. > :02:45.far in the group after the third draw with the Czech Republic.

:02:46. > :02:55.This will be Northern Ireland's first competitive home fixture for

:02:56. > :02:59.exactly one year. San Marino may be the minnows of Group C, but patients

:03:00. > :03:05.could well be the keeper Michael O'Neill's side. It is key, but I

:03:06. > :03:08.want the team to play with high energy and a high tempo and the

:03:09. > :03:12.crowd to really be behind the team. To do that you have to obviously get

:03:13. > :03:16.the crowd on the edge of their seat. We have to play similar to how we

:03:17. > :03:22.played a couple of years ago against the Aero Islands where we had loads

:03:23. > :03:27.of goal-scoring opportunities. We won the Game 2- milk and that is

:03:28. > :03:32.what we will aim to do here. We want to play on the front foot and make

:03:33. > :03:36.life as difficult as possible for San Marino and they will have the

:03:37. > :03:41.same intention. The last time the teams met in Belfast eight years

:03:42. > :03:49.ago, Northern Ireland were 4-0 winners. I think these games are

:03:50. > :03:53.never easy. They will be difficult to break down. We would love to get

:03:54. > :03:57.an early goal but it doesn't always happen like that. We will have to

:03:58. > :04:04.play with good intensity of the ball quickly to ensure quality. The match

:04:05. > :04:08.will be the first played in the newly completed National Stadium at

:04:09. > :04:10.Windsor Park. A sell-out crowd should guarantee a good atmosphere

:04:11. > :04:12.for the inaugural home game of the World Cup campaign.

:04:13. > :04:14.And you can listen to the game on BBC Radio Ulster

:04:15. > :04:21.BBC Radio Ulster won gold in the Station Of The Year category

:04:22. > :04:23.at the PPI Radio Awards in Kilkenny last night.

:04:24. > :04:26.Evening Extra's Seamus McKee was also awarded gold in the News

:04:27. > :04:41.In total BBC Radio Ulster and BBC radio Foyle received 12 awards.

:04:42. > :04:44.Now with the weather forecast for the rest of the weekend,

:04:45. > :04:57.18 Celsius in this sunshine in County Tyrone. 11 sorted and cloud

:04:58. > :05:00.in the Antrim glands. It will stay cloudy in Belfast tonight but it

:05:01. > :05:04.should stay dry pudding Northern Ireland match. Any showers few and

:05:05. > :05:10.far between. Most places will have a dry night. It could get quite chilly

:05:11. > :05:14.and misty. A dry start virtually everywhere on Sunday and largely dry

:05:15. > :05:20.day. In most places a brighter day to come sunshine developing as the

:05:21. > :05:22.morning goes on. Once again very little wind around, so excellent

:05:23. > :05:30.running conditions but those who are taking part in the Gaeltacht Quarter

:05:31. > :05:33.10k tomorrow. Across the UK and Ireland, not too many showers

:05:34. > :05:37.around. Just a handful across eastern counties of England. One or

:05:38. > :05:41.two could be quite sharp come the afternoon. Maybe the odd shower in

:05:42. > :05:45.the Republic of Ireland but a lot less is dry. The best of the

:05:46. > :05:49.sunshine tends to be farther west. That is where the highest

:05:50. > :05:53.temperatures will be tomorrow. 15, 16 or 17 Celsius in parts of Tyrone.

:05:54. > :05:58.The odd shower possible especially over County Down. The area of high

:05:59. > :06:00.pressure that extends from Scandinavia will continue to

:06:01. > :06:04.influence our weather next week or at least from most of the working

:06:05. > :06:08.week keeping the areas of low pressure away from us. The you will

:06:09. > :06:11.notice the lines develop across us meaning the wind will pick up

:06:12. > :06:15.through the week. Some sunshine at times which will make all the

:06:16. > :06:18.difference. Temperatures generally around the average, but in the

:06:19. > :06:26.breeze it will start to feel good. That is all the news and weather. We

:06:27. > :06:33.are back with you tomorrow at 6:05pm. You can keep up to date on

:06:34. > :06:34.BBC Radio Ulster were on our online service. From everyone here, thank

:06:35. > :06:35.you for
