0:00:11 > 0:00:13Gerry Adams has signalled that the Deputy First Minister

0:00:13 > 0:00:16could resign over Arlene Foster's refusal to stand aside

0:00:16 > 0:00:18while an investigation is carried out into the renewable heat scandal.

0:00:18 > 0:00:21The Sinn Fein president told a meeting in West Belfast

0:00:25 > 0:00:27didn't heed what he called the wishes of society.

0:00:27 > 0:00:32There is some flash photography in this report from Louise Cullen.

0:00:32 > 0:00:35Another meeting after a week of meetings.

0:00:37 > 0:00:41to the Renewable Heat Initiative debacle.

0:00:41 > 0:00:44Gerry Adams said Arlene Foster's refusal to step aside was not good

0:00:44 > 0:00:48enough and he had this message for her.

0:00:48 > 0:00:52If the First Minister does not take the actions that society desires

0:01:11 > 0:01:14They include: A judge-led panel to investigate the RHI affair

0:01:14 > 0:01:17which would have the power to compel witnesses to appear

0:01:17 > 0:01:19and access documents.

0:01:19 > 0:01:21A preliminary report would be ready in one month

0:01:21 > 0:01:24followed by a final report in three.

0:01:24 > 0:01:28But that's all dependent on Arlene Foster stepping aside.

0:01:28 > 0:01:32After initially reiterating her refusal to do so, last night

0:01:32 > 0:01:35she said with the exception of that demand, the proposals do provide

0:01:35 > 0:01:39the basis for taking an investigation forward.

0:01:39 > 0:01:43The Sinn Fein president also used his speech today to criticise

0:01:49 > 0:01:53The decision on the eve of Christmas to cut funding for the Liofa

0:02:06 > 0:02:13The Assembly may be recalled next week to debate the crisis.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16An MLA in West Belfast says a new tyranny is emerging

0:02:56 > 0:03:00the Chief Constable this week about similar paramilitary-style

0:03:00 > 0:03:05attacks, the scale of the threat in the area and recent drugs deaths.

0:03:05 > 0:03:09The assaults on young people in particular and the deaths

0:03:09 > 0:03:14because of drugs over Christmas means there's a real anxiety

0:03:14 > 0:03:18that the tyranny of those who use violence on one hand and push

0:03:18 > 0:03:22cocaine and heroin on the other are beginning to deeply hurt people

0:03:22 > 0:03:25and young people in West Belfast.

0:03:25 > 0:03:28People and the police must come together to confront both.

0:03:28 > 0:03:30The Secretary of State, James Brokenshire, says

0:03:30 > 0:03:33he is sickened by this attack, describing it as a cowardly

0:03:33 > 0:03:35act of violence.

0:03:35 > 0:03:39He's also urged anyone with information to contact police.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45A number of people had to leave their homes in Magherafelt

0:03:48 > 0:03:51The alert began after police called to a house in Leckagh Drive

0:03:51 > 0:03:56following reports all the windows had been broken.

0:03:56 > 0:03:58When they arrived they found a suspicious object,

0:04:06 > 0:04:07She faces a series of charges including conspiracy

0:04:07 > 0:04:10to supply a class B drug.

0:04:10 > 0:04:14It follows the seizure of herbal cannabis in Donaghadee and Comber.

0:04:14 > 0:04:17She'll appear in court in Belfast on Monday.

0:04:17 > 0:04:19It was very mild if a bit grey today.

0:04:19 > 0:04:22Let's get a look at the weather forecast for the rest

0:04:22 > 0:04:24of the weekend with Barra Best.

0:04:24 > 0:04:25Hi, there.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28There's not much hope of any sunshine this weekend.

0:04:28 > 0:04:31The high pressure which has brought us the cloudy conditions is set

0:04:31 > 0:04:35to stay with us for at least the next 24 hours or so.

0:04:35 > 0:04:38But on the upside, again tonight we have no frost as temperatures

0:04:38 > 0:04:41fall to just seven or eight degrees.

0:04:41 > 0:04:44Well above average and temperatures we normally see by day

0:04:44 > 0:04:46at this time of year.

0:04:46 > 0:04:49Through the night we will once again see pockets of mist and fog forming,

0:04:49 > 0:04:51some of that will be thick in the morning, causing visibility

0:04:51 > 0:04:54issues on some roads.

0:04:54 > 0:04:57And some will be quite stubborn and very slow to clear as well.

0:04:57 > 0:05:00Otherwise, Sunday is going to be another mainly dry day.

0:05:00 > 0:05:02A mirror image practically of day.

0:05:02 > 0:05:03A lot of cloud.

0:05:03 > 0:05:06The winds stay light and at times the cloud will be thick enough

0:05:06 > 0:05:09to give a few spots of light rain and drizzle but it's not

0:05:09 > 0:05:11going to amount to very much at all.

0:05:11 > 0:05:14And if you're travelling across the island tomorrow it is pretty

0:05:14 > 0:05:15much the same everywhere.

0:05:15 > 0:05:18Maybe the odd sunnier or brighter glimpses trying to break

0:05:18 > 0:05:21through but overall a cloudy one but mild for the time

0:05:21 > 0:05:25of year with temperatures of ten or even 11 degrees.

0:05:25 > 0:05:28For the second part of the day for us, maybe the odd bright spell

0:05:28 > 0:05:31breaking through just before nightfall but overall staying cloudy

0:05:31 > 0:05:33right through the day.

0:05:33 > 0:05:36And cloudy again into tomorrow night, when it will stay mild.

0:05:36 > 0:05:39But rain is on the way on Sunday night and through

0:05:39 > 0:05:40the early hours of Monday.

0:05:40 > 0:05:43Once that clears away it will be a cooler, fresher day,

0:05:43 > 0:05:45certainly towards coastal areas, where we will have some gales

0:05:45 > 0:05:48and maybe even some severe gales with temperatures back to normal

0:05:48 > 0:05:52at about seven or 8 degrees.

0:05:52 > 0:05:54That's it for now.

0:05:54 > 0:05:58BBC Newsline will be back at 6.20pm tomorrow evening.

0:06:22 > 0:06:25There's a very large team of people needed to make this all work.
