:00:00. > :00:09.A police officer has been shot in North Belfast this evening.

:00:10. > :00:13.There's been widespread condemnation of the attack,

:00:14. > :00:18.which the Secretary of State has described as sickening.

:00:19. > :00:21.It's understood a number of shots fired from a car.

:00:22. > :00:32.The attack happened at this filling station at around half past seven

:00:33. > :00:35.this evening, the injured officer recovering in hospital where he is

:00:36. > :00:39.said to be in a stable condition. This nearby resident saw what

:00:40. > :00:45.happened but doesn't want to appear on camera. We were just coming along

:00:46. > :00:48.the Taiwan macro Road, shots heard, but we didn't know it was shots, we

:00:49. > :00:53.thought it was fireworks but we heard it was consistent so we knew

:00:54. > :00:56.something was wrong. Police use this filling station quite often. Locals

:00:57. > :00:59.who heard the shots came out to find out what happened here. They say

:01:00. > :01:02.they are angry at the attack and that it should never have happened

:01:03. > :01:08.in their community. There have been a number of policeman murdered, we

:01:09. > :01:12.could have had members of the general public shopping, and we are

:01:13. > :01:18.in a built-up area which we too have seen carnage in. Parts of the road

:01:19. > :01:19.is expended to be shut off till tomorrow asked police investigate

:01:20. > :01:20.what happened. A 51-year-old man's been charged

:01:21. > :01:22.with the murder of a woman Anita Downey's body

:01:23. > :01:26.was found in a house The police are appealing for help

:01:27. > :01:31.in finding her mobile phone. A former senior European Commission

:01:32. > :01:37.official has warned that controls at the border will have to return

:01:38. > :01:43.if the UK leaves the Customs Union. Michael Lux says that a system

:01:44. > :01:47.of "red and green lanes" could be introduced as a form of customs

:01:48. > :01:50.control on border roads. Here's our Economics

:01:51. > :02:05.and Business Editor John Campbell. Thousands go across the border every

:02:06. > :02:09.day with out customs checks. That is because the UK and Ireland are

:02:10. > :02:16.members of the UK elite macro -- EU customs union. Its members aren't

:02:17. > :02:19.free to do their own trade deals. Theresa May said there will be no

:02:20. > :02:23.return to the borders of the past and that a new arrangement will be

:02:24. > :02:27.negotiated. I do want us to have a customs agreement with the EU.

:02:28. > :02:32.Whether that means we must reach a completely new customs agreement,

:02:33. > :02:35.become an associate member of the customs union in some way or remain

:02:36. > :02:41.a signatory to some elements of it I hold no preconceived position. But a

:02:42. > :02:46.former head of customs sieges at the European Commission save there will

:02:47. > :02:50.have to be changes. He suggests we could see a system like the one

:02:51. > :02:57.operating on border roads between Norway and Sweden. There will be

:02:58. > :03:01.Irish customs official is, and UK customs officers, so if you have

:03:02. > :03:07.goods to declare you go to the red channel and then customs will deal

:03:08. > :03:11.with you, if you go through the green channel you can pass through

:03:12. > :03:14.freely. There is no certainty that this is the sort of arrangement we

:03:15. > :03:16.will end up with, but Brexit does mean that change is coming.

:03:17. > :03:18.GAA, and in the McKenna Cup semi finals

:03:19. > :03:23.while defending champions Tyrone saw off Fermanagh by three.

:03:24. > :03:29.Mark Sidebottom reports from Clones.

:03:30. > :03:36.The weather was kind, the ground ample and four January the football

:03:37. > :03:43.was at times impressive, in particular Fermanagh's opening count

:03:44. > :03:49.from Eddie Courtney. Clones drew breath and then drew level. Attacks

:03:50. > :03:54.down the right flank. Ahead by three, at the break, the

:03:55. > :04:02.ultra-lively Darien McCurry, pushed to row in front. Then came a

:04:03. > :04:06.Fermanagh surge. Aidan Breen's effort led by the fans. It prompted

:04:07. > :04:11.a rebuke from the home volley-macro holders. Drone advance, are Derry

:04:12. > :04:12.stay still. Let's get the forecast

:04:13. > :04:24.now, here's Barra. Hello, a story this weekend has been

:04:25. > :04:28.settled and it is set to stay that way for the next few days. That is

:04:29. > :04:32.thanks to high pressure dominating our current weather system. Denied

:04:33. > :04:36.it is already turning quite chilly out there, subzero temperatures

:04:37. > :04:40.across the board. We will see -2 or three degrees in some places so a

:04:41. > :04:43.widespread frost can be expected and also some pockets of fog, some of

:04:44. > :04:46.that fog especially in western counties could cause problems on the

:04:47. > :04:50.roads first thing tomorrow, something you bear in mind perhaps

:04:51. > :04:54.if you are travelling a thing. Otherwise tomorrow, high pressure

:04:55. > :04:58.stays in control, and we can expect a largely settled today. So, to

:04:59. > :05:01.begin with yes, there will be a good amount of frost out there to watch

:05:02. > :05:04.out for and also some fog which may be slow decay in some places but

:05:05. > :05:09.eventually it will do so, and overall a calm start. Sunshine will

:05:10. > :05:12.burn through as well. The good news is if you are travelling tomorrow,

:05:13. > :05:15.right across Britain and Ireland with that high pressure dominating

:05:16. > :05:19.us all it's a fine day, plenty of drying weather around there, some

:05:20. > :05:23.good amount of sunshine. Some will struggle, though, to get into the

:05:24. > :05:27.mid single figures especially in the northern half of Britain, and across

:05:28. > :05:33.the Northern Ireland here, nine or 10 degrees. -- the south of Ireland.

:05:34. > :05:36.Not a bad day to be outdoors. The good news for us, temperatures

:05:37. > :05:39.reached six or 7 degrees, maybe eight especially across eastern

:05:40. > :05:42.counties where we get some prolonged spells of sunshine and right through

:05:43. > :05:47.the baby winds will stay nice and light. A bit of a change coming

:05:48. > :05:51.tomorrow evening, cloud thickening up and you can see the rain coming

:05:52. > :05:54.in behind me. It moves in during Monday evening and overnight for a

:05:55. > :05:58.while on Tuesday that most of that should have gone by two used a

:05:59. > :06:03.morning. Tuesday I mild day but cloud begins later, expecting some

:06:04. > :06:09.damp weather to reach Western counties. It shouldn't be very much.

:06:10. > :06:15.Eastern counties, sunny gaps in the day. Overnight into Wednesday,

:06:16. > :06:19.Wednesday and Thursday high pressure tries to cling on we can expect a

:06:20. > :06:20.good deal of dry weather. Of course, stay tuned! Good night.
