:00:00. > :00:00.we are back with the late News at Ten - now on BBC One its time

:00:07. > :00:08.Good evening and welcome to BBC Newsline.

:00:09. > :00:11.Police have launched a murder inquiry after the death

:00:12. > :00:16.of a 31-year-old man injured during an altercation

:00:17. > :00:21.He has been named as Paul McCready from north Belfast.

:00:22. > :00:29.Michael Fitzpatrick has been to the scene.

:00:30. > :00:35.The altercation took place in this part of the city centre shortly

:00:36. > :00:43.before 1am this morning. Ambulance crews were called to treat

:00:44. > :00:47.31-year-old Paul McCready who was unconscious outside a bar. In north

:00:48. > :00:51.Belfast man was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital but later died

:00:52. > :00:55.from his injuries. This afternoon, the police, who are treating Paul

:00:56. > :01:00.McCready's death as murder carried out an examination of the lower end

:01:01. > :01:04.of Donegal Street. This altercation took place at one of the busiest

:01:05. > :01:08.times of the week in the Cathedral Quarter. The police say they would

:01:09. > :01:11.have been quite a number of people in the area at the time who

:01:12. > :01:14.witnessed what happened. They have appealed to them to come forward.

:01:15. > :01:17.A man has died in a car crash in County Down.

:01:18. > :01:20.It happened on the Saintfield Road in Crossgar early this morning.

:01:21. > :01:27.A 60-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was

:01:28. > :01:32.He was found in a property in Sperrin Park this morning.

:01:33. > :01:38.And a 30-year-old man has been charged with causing grievous bodily

:01:39. > :01:41.harm after an assault on a 32-year-old man

:01:42. > :01:45.at Waterworks Park in north Belfast yesterday.

:01:46. > :01:51.The Democratic Unionist MP Ian Paisley Jr says he intends

:01:52. > :01:54.to press the UK government over allegations his father's phone

:01:55. > :02:01.The claims were made in a newspaper article by the former deputy

:02:02. > :02:03.Prime Minister John Prescott, who said he was told

:02:04. > :02:10.of the tap by then Prime Minister Tony Blair in 2005.

:02:11. > :02:17.Mr Prescott has opened up the black box into the dark art of the

:02:18. > :02:22.government and the protocol makes it very clear, members of Parliament

:02:23. > :02:27.are not to be wiretapped or snoop. Clearly that has happened on this

:02:28. > :02:31.occasion. We were tipped off at the time that something like this was

:02:32. > :02:36.going on and I think that made us very alert to what should be said. I

:02:37. > :02:40.know at the time my father personally challenged Tony Blair

:02:41. > :02:43.about this and he denied it. That shows the level of deceit to which

:02:44. > :02:46.the Blair government is prepared to stoop.

:02:47. > :02:49.A confidential telephone line is to be set up in Mauritius

:02:50. > :02:52.for people to give information about the murder of Tyrone woman

:02:53. > :02:58.The move coincides with the visit to the island of her husband

:02:59. > :03:00.John McAreavey to try to help the police investigation.

:03:01. > :03:04.From Mauritius, Mark Simpson reports.

:03:05. > :03:13.One of the first things he did in Mauritius was taught to his lawyer.

:03:14. > :03:16.They discussed plans to make a public appeal for more information

:03:17. > :03:21.about Michaela McAreavey's murder. In an interview at his office, the

:03:22. > :03:29.lawyer said the information did not have to go directly to the police.

:03:30. > :03:34.This is how it is done when you want to communicate information to the

:03:35. > :03:40.police and you want to know when to reveal your identity. A confidential

:03:41. > :03:46.hotline? Yes. The commissioner is fully OK with it. More details will

:03:47. > :03:53.be given at a news conference on Tuesday. He will try to send a

:03:54. > :03:56.direct message to the people of Mauritius. He will tell them he does

:03:57. > :03:57.not want their sympathy, he wants their help.

:03:58. > :04:00.Sport now, and defending champion Jonathan Rea's run of five

:04:01. > :04:02.successive World Superbike victories ended when Welshman Chaz Davies won

:04:03. > :04:06.Rea led for most of the race after starting ninth on the grid

:04:07. > :04:12.and briefly hit the front again on the last lap.

:04:13. > :04:16.Despite not winning for the first time this year, Rea has

:04:17. > :04:20.extended his overall championship lead to 50 points.

:04:21. > :04:23.Brendan Rodgers has won his first Scottish league with Celtic this

:04:24. > :04:28.Meanwhile, in Gaelic football, Derry and Fermanagh are relegated

:04:29. > :04:35.Antrim will play in Division 4 next year, meanwhile Armagh missed out

:04:36. > :04:41.In Division 1, Tyrone, Donegal and Monaghan all lost.

:04:42. > :04:48.With the details here's Thomas Niblock.

:04:49. > :05:02.To come from six points down and win by three you have to be a truly

:05:03. > :05:06.great side. Dublin are now 36 games and beaten. Much of that success is

:05:07. > :05:13.down to the points and goals from Bernard Brogan. And he was once

:05:14. > :05:18.again clinical. With the sides level going into stoppage time, Dublin

:05:19. > :05:22.once again attacked and found the net. It means no Ulster team will

:05:23. > :05:30.play in the division one, two, three or four league finals. Elsewhere

:05:31. > :05:33.this afternoon, Celtic collected their sixth consecutive league

:05:34. > :05:39.championship. Their fifth goal in 85-0 win came from the penalty spot.

:05:40. > :05:41.Brendan Rodgers' side are currently unbeaten in Scotland and are going

:05:42. > :05:43.for a domestic treble. Here's Cecilia Daly

:05:44. > :05:57.with the details. It has been a lovely day and it is

:05:58. > :06:00.very nice out there this evening. Clouds will be rolling in this

:06:01. > :06:05.evening and the breeze will pepper wrapped during the night. One or two

:06:06. > :06:08.spots of rain around but most places will stay dry. The rain will be

:06:09. > :06:13.around tomorrow but you may well be lucky and get away with a dried

:06:14. > :06:18.journey to work or school. Most of the rain in the West through the

:06:19. > :06:22.rush-hour. It will be quite a blustery day across the Republic of

:06:23. > :06:26.Ireland and the West of Scotland. And there will be some rain

:06:27. > :06:30.continuing to move eastwards. It looks like eastern Scotland, much of

:06:31. > :06:34.England and East Wales will stay dry. But that rain nudging across

:06:35. > :06:37.the Irish Sea later in the afternoon. Quite a keen southerly

:06:38. > :06:44.wind tomorrow. Blustery through the day. A damp day and it could even

:06:45. > :06:48.end up quite wet. The rain will continue to move away eastwards

:06:49. > :06:53.tomorrow night. Skies will start to clear in places as well. And then

:06:54. > :06:57.good news for the rest of the coming week, once we get in out of the way,

:06:58. > :07:02.it is looking much drier from Tuesday onwards. It will not always

:07:03. > :07:05.be sunny but the reason for the dry weather is this area of high

:07:06. > :07:09.pressure which looks like it will be in force for the rest of the working

:07:10. > :07:14.week. Some sunshine at times and where we get clear skies at night

:07:15. > :07:17.time, it could still be quite chilly. So the umbrellas will be out

:07:18. > :07:20.tomorrow but hopefully we can put them away for the rest of the week.

:07:21. > :07:23.Our next BBC Newsline bulletin is 10.15pm this evening.

:07:24. > :07:26.Until then you can keep up to date with local news on BBC Radio Ulster

:07:27. > :07:30.From everyone on the BBC Newsline team, good bye.

:07:31. > :07:32.I expect you'll want to become a schoolmaster, sir.

:07:33. > :07:34.That's what most of the gentlemen does that get sent down

:07:35. > :07:37.for indecent behaviour. Evelyn Waugh's classic novel.

:07:38. > :07:40.Have you ever been in love, Mr Pennyfeather? No, not yet.

:07:41. > :07:43.The fire escape is very dangerous and never to be used.
