:00:13. > :00:16.The Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, has signed a ?1 billion deal

:00:17. > :00:19.that could bring 50,000 jobs to Oxfordshire. Around 20,000 would be

:00:20. > :00:22.in science and technology, and 30,000 in construction, with the

:00:23. > :00:26.building of new homes. The City Deal will be mainly funded by public

:00:27. > :00:33.money, but it also needs private investment. A deal which it is

:00:34. > :00:38.claimed could create up to 50,000 jobs in Oxfordshire. The Government,

:00:39. > :00:42.local councils and Oxford University are pledging to help the county's

:00:43. > :00:47.hi`tech industry grow by putting forward almost ?100 million between

:00:48. > :00:52.them. Businesses with potential will be given advice and at the same time

:00:53. > :01:00.road and rail networks improved. But why Oxfordshire? Here at STFC

:01:01. > :01:03.Rutherford Appleton laboratory they study atoms. It is organisations

:01:04. > :01:09.like this the Government want to see grow. At four sites across

:01:10. > :01:14.Oxfordshire ` Harwell, cull um, Begbroke and one in central Oxford.

:01:15. > :01:18.The Government hopes it will create 19,000 new jobs. . I think it will

:01:19. > :01:29.unleash economic potential in the local area. You will see traffic

:01:30. > :01:34.improvements which have `` people coming into the area have homes to

:01:35. > :01:38.live in, more apprenticeships and thousands of new jobs. If you are

:01:39. > :01:45.going to create that many new jobs you have to get workers from A to B.

:01:46. > :01:50.So some of the money will be spent limbing the new industries with new

:01:51. > :01:55.bus roots. A new link road is designed to free up traffic. The

:01:56. > :01:59.improve to the railway lines and a new station at Oxford Park way is

:02:00. > :02:05.designed to increase capacity on the tracks. And 7,000 new homes will be

:02:06. > :02:09.given the go`ahead so new workers have somewhere to live. The news has

:02:10. > :02:15.been welcomed by the county's leaders. It is the culmination of

:02:16. > :02:19.months of hard work, Oxfordshire council working with the council,

:02:20. > :02:22.the University and local businesses to get this City Deal. Today we've

:02:23. > :02:28.signed it. It is recognition from the Government that Oxfordshire has

:02:29. > :02:31.great growth potential. These ideas have be in the planning for some

:02:32. > :02:38.time. Today marks the moment when they can start to become a reality.

:02:39. > :02:41.Police in Swindon are appealing for help in finding five people wanted

:02:42. > :02:45.after a series of drugs raids. More than 400 officers were involved in

:02:46. > :02:48.the raids on homes and businesses yesterday. 52 people have been

:02:49. > :02:51.arrested, but police say they are still trying to trace Thane Pilgrim,

:02:52. > :02:59.Leo Ryan, Callum Johnson, Shane Harper and Darren Walcott.

:03:00. > :03:03.A medical tribunal has ruled that the treatment given by a doctor from

:03:04. > :03:06.Oxfordshire to some of his female patients had probably been sexually

:03:07. > :03:09.motivated. Three years ago Dr Yenugula Srinivas was found not

:03:10. > :03:12.guilty of sexual assault by a criminal court, but the General

:03:13. > :03:20.Medical Council has made its own ruling after conducting a

:03:21. > :03:24.disciplinary hearing. Yenugula Srinivas seen here with his

:03:25. > :03:30.wife began working as a doctor in the UK in 2003. But he was arrested

:03:31. > :03:34.and charged seven years later, accused of sexually assaulting a

:03:35. > :03:40.number of his female patients, between 2008 and 2009. It was

:03:41. > :03:47.alleged he gave un intimate examinations to some women at

:03:48. > :03:52.surgeries in ice lip and St Complements in Oxford. But in 2011

:03:53. > :03:56.he was found not guilty of all charges. Despite this, the General

:03:57. > :04:01.Medical Council, which had suspended him in 2010, continued to

:04:02. > :04:06.investigate. At the end of last year, the medical practitioners

:04:07. > :04:10.tribunal service, which runs fitness to practice hearings for the GMC,

:04:11. > :04:16.began assessing the case. The evidence focused on claims by 12

:04:17. > :04:20.women. Many of whom gave evidence. His behaviour was described as

:04:21. > :04:25.dishonest and misleading, and he was accused of delivering poor care.

:04:26. > :04:30.Something he always denied during his trial. The panel's concluded

:04:31. > :04:36.that some of the allegations made probably are true and now it is to

:04:37. > :04:40.decide if he can continue practising as a doctor. It has a range of

:04:41. > :04:43.sanctions available to it, anything from continuing his suspension to

:04:44. > :04:48.placing conditions on his medical licence. Or striking him off the

:04:49. > :04:58.medical register altogether. He will know the outcome in March.

:04:59. > :05:07.Oxshire's been `` Oxfordshire has been chosen as one of several areas

:05:08. > :05:12.to pilot ` the experts will be independent of the local authority.

:05:13. > :05:15.A new halfway house has been opened for people suffering from eating

:05:16. > :05:18.disorders in Oxfordshire. New figures show hospital admissions for

:05:19. > :05:26.eating disorders have increased by 10% in our region in the last year.

:05:27. > :05:32.Just going into a room to eat can be hard to cope with the you have an

:05:33. > :05:37.eating disorder. Here at Cotswold House days are planned and menu

:05:38. > :05:41.devised to help people recover from anorexia and bulimia. Even after

:05:42. > :05:47.months of treatment, normal life can be too much. The It is incredibly

:05:48. > :05:53.overwhelming being in here, where you are safe, secure, supported, to

:05:54. > :05:59.try and go straight back home, even with parental support. Partner

:06:00. > :06:02.support. It is incredibly difficult. New figures out today from the

:06:03. > :06:06.health and social care information centre show that admissions for

:06:07. > :06:11.eating disorders have increased by 10% in the south. Here they've just

:06:12. > :06:16.opened a stepdown house, a brand`new facility that will support patients

:06:17. > :06:19.back into life in the community. What we are hoping is this will

:06:20. > :06:25.reduce the amount of readmissions, because it makes the transition to

:06:26. > :06:30.the community safer. They hope it will clear the way for patients to

:06:31. > :06:31.ease back into normal life, and eventually live without ongoing

:06:32. > :06:41.support. Good evening. A quieter night than

:06:42. > :06:46.recent nights, maybe with a touch of grass frost. We do have a few

:06:47. > :06:49.showers drifting about, with temperatures hovering around the

:06:50. > :06:53.freezing mark, the risk of ice on untreated surfaces. Maybe first

:06:54. > :06:58.thing tomorrow there could be mist and fog patches, which will reduce

:06:59. > :07:02.visibility on the roads. They should lift. From lunchtime we'll see a

:07:03. > :07:05.band of rain edge in from the west. In the could be heavy in places,

:07:06. > :07:10.adding to the flooding problems we have in some areas, and a brisk

:07:11. > :07:14.southerly wind, with temperatures climbing to a chilly 5`6 Celsius.

:07:15. > :07:19.A cold`feeling day with the cloud and rain. A better day on Saturday,

:07:20. > :07:23.although still blustery winds. You may have blustery showers with that

:07:24. > :07:27.wind. Driving up from the south. A better day on Sunday, is less in the

:07:28. > :07:33.way of showers, more sunshine, but further showers on Monday.

:07:34. > :07:38.South Today is back on BBC. In breakfast. Goodnight.

:07:39. > :07:43.very good night. Good evening. As we have seen, it

:07:44. > :07:48.has been an exceptionally wet month and it is not even over yet. The

:07:49. > :07:54.final day of January promises even more heavy rain and that is not the

:07:55. > :08:00.only hazard. There could be some snow and strong winds over the next

:08:01. > :08:05.48 hours. We have seen too many of these weather systems steaming in

:08:06. > :08:10.from the Atlantic. It is not with this yet, however. Some snow over

:08:11. > :08:15.the hills in northern England and eastern Scotland. Some mist and fog

:08:16. > :08:23.patches in the south. Many of us will start Friday Drive, however the

:08:24. > :08:24.rain is on its way and it will gradually spread its
