:00:00. > :00:09.That is all from the BBC News At Six,

:00:10. > :00:12.More Hello and welcome to South Today from Oxford.

:00:13. > :00:16.In tonight's programme: A teenager is murdered in his home. 17`year`old

:00:17. > :00:18.Conor Tremble was stabbed to death. A man's being questioned by police.

:00:19. > :00:22.Also tonight, the cellar that's uninsurable. But could a new scheme

:00:23. > :00:25.provide a way of insuring properties at high risk of flooding?

:00:26. > :00:28.The baby a couple thought they'd never have ` how Marie Andrews was

:00:29. > :00:31.determined to give birth despite having brittle bone disease.

:00:32. > :00:32.And later on, after 17 years, a children's hospice announces its

:00:33. > :00:51.next plans to support families. Good evening. Tributes have been

:00:52. > :00:54.paid to a 17`year`old boy who was stabbed to death in Oxford. Conor

:00:55. > :00:57.Tremble's father says he was a charming, happy`go`lucky boy. His

:00:58. > :01:00.mother says his death has ripped her heart to pieces. Connor was attacked

:01:01. > :01:09.on Thursday night and died in hospital at the weekend. Here's

:01:10. > :01:12.Sinead Carroll. This is where 17`year`old Conner

:01:13. > :01:22.Tremble lived. And this is where he was stabbed multiple times on

:01:23. > :01:27.Thursday night. Just really sad. We had not met him. We know the

:01:28. > :01:35.neighbours that side very well, but not the other side. Really sad. So

:01:36. > :01:45.young. Seems really horrible. We have not been able to start `` stop

:01:46. > :01:48.thinking about it. Tributes have been paid online and a Facebook page

:01:49. > :01:53.has been set up in his memory. Connor Tremble was looked after by

:01:54. > :01:56.Oxfordshire County Council. The lipstick kisses and the written

:01:57. > :02:03.tributes behind me are just the start. His mum said that her heart

:02:04. > :02:08.had been ripped to pieces. She said she had lost something priceless.

:02:09. > :02:12.His father described him as a charming, happy`go`lucky boy. He

:02:13. > :02:19.hopes that wherever he is, he may have found peace and comfort. Today

:02:20. > :02:22.police have been searching bins and drains for a weapon and a forensic

:02:23. > :02:25.team investigated the property. Police have been given until

:02:26. > :02:28.tomorrow morning to question a 20`year`old man about the attack.

:02:29. > :02:32.Connor's friends are planning a rap concert here tomorrow evening. ``

:02:33. > :02:40.they are planning to film a wrap video.

:02:41. > :02:43.A group calling itself the IRA has claimed responsibility for sending

:02:44. > :02:45.explosive devices to army careers offices, including one in Oxford

:02:46. > :02:48.Seven suspect packages were discovered at army offices across

:02:49. > :02:51.the country. Part of Oxford city centre was evacuated last Thursday

:02:52. > :02:55.and bomb disposal teams removed the package for analysis. It was said to

:02:56. > :03:01.contain a crude but viable explosive device.

:03:02. > :03:04.Production at BMW's Mini plant in Swindon is set to increase. The car

:03:05. > :03:08.manufacturer announced today that new Minis will be built in Holland

:03:09. > :03:12.as well as Oxford. A BMW spokesman says it's good news for Swindon. The

:03:13. > :03:15.panels are made there and they will be producing car parts for both

:03:16. > :03:22.factories which will mean a significant increase in demand.

:03:23. > :03:25.In the past hour, we've heard the A34 northbound has been closed just

:03:26. > :03:29.north of the M4 at Chieveley. This picture has been sent to us via

:03:30. > :03:32.Twitter. A car transporter has overturned and it's believed other

:03:33. > :03:36.cars are involved. Diversions are in place.

:03:37. > :03:39.The worst of the wet weather may be behind us, but the clear up

:03:40. > :03:42.continues in many parts of our region. Now attention is turning to

:03:43. > :03:46.insurance claims and repairing damage to homes. Tom Turrell has

:03:47. > :03:49.been to meet a family in Aylesbury who might not be able to return to

:03:50. > :03:53.their flooded home for months. It might not look like it, but

:03:54. > :04:00.Peter's one of the lucky ones. This is an old house that was built in

:04:01. > :04:06.the 1830s when they did not thank the sellers. When the water table

:04:07. > :04:15.rises, the water bubbles up `` they did not tank the seller. Despite the

:04:16. > :04:18.fact his cellar at his Streatley home fills with flood water, he can

:04:19. > :04:22.get insurance for the rest of his property. I told them it was water

:04:23. > :04:30.seepage in the basement and they accepted the insurance but they had

:04:31. > :04:37.an exclusion for and the damage `` for any damage in the basement. But

:04:38. > :04:42.not everyone's so lucky. My husband was outside putting the sandbags

:04:43. > :04:47.out. It was scary. It came up through the floor. Flood water has

:04:48. > :04:51.destroyed the ground floor of Lesley's home forcing her and her

:04:52. > :04:54.young family to move out. But she says despite telling her insurance

:04:55. > :04:58.company about the damage more than a week ago, they've still not done

:04:59. > :05:03.anything to help. It is frustrating because our neighbours, their

:05:04. > :05:07.insurers have been fantastic. They have been in a hotel since it

:05:08. > :05:11.happened and the carpet has been ripped up and people have been

:05:12. > :05:14.round. It seems something is happening for them and nothing has

:05:15. > :05:22.happened for us. We are still waiting to be told that we can

:05:23. > :05:27.start. In this case, it is unsure whether the insurers will pay out

:05:28. > :05:33.and when. It leaves this woman and many like her uncertain as to what

:05:34. > :05:36.will happen next. Well, the Government and insurance

:05:37. > :05:40.firms are now working together to change the way they cover properties

:05:41. > :05:43.in future. Malcolm Tarling is from the Association of British Insurers.

:05:44. > :05:46.A short time ago, I asked him how the new scheme will work. The new

:05:47. > :05:49.scheme we have agreed with the government and comes into force in

:05:50. > :05:52.the summer, 2015, aims to protect the households who are most at risk

:05:53. > :05:56.of flooding and will be least able to afford the cost of flooding

:05:57. > :06:00.insurance by capping the flood insurance premiums. We believe this

:06:01. > :06:05.is a fair way of helping people at risk of flooding and we want to

:06:06. > :06:09.ensure flood insurance remains as widely available and as affordable

:06:10. > :06:14.as possible. We believe the new scheme is the best way of going

:06:15. > :06:17.about it. Does that mean people in low risk areas are effectively

:06:18. > :06:24.subsidising people in high`risk areas? Everyone is vulnerable to

:06:25. > :06:31.flooding. You do not need to live near the coast. Surface water can

:06:32. > :06:38.affect anyone anywhere. I think it is fair that everyone has to

:06:39. > :06:42.shoulder some responsibility. The ?10 levy which will fund the scheme,

:06:43. > :06:46.people are already paying for it anyway because it represents a level

:06:47. > :06:50.of subsidy that existed under a previous arrangement. The new scheme

:06:51. > :06:54.is not asking people to pay more. It is helping the people most at risk

:06:55. > :07:05.of flooding and least able to afford the cost of insurance. Thank you.

:07:06. > :07:08.Meanwhile, there are calls for urgent improvements on the main

:07:09. > :07:11.train line out of Oxford to prevent future flooding. In January and

:07:12. > :07:15.again last week, water on the tracks at Hinksey led to the cancellation

:07:16. > :07:18.of many passenger and freight services between Oxford and Didcot.

:07:19. > :07:21.Oxford City Council leader Bob Price says he's asked for flood proofing

:07:22. > :07:25.the route to be made a top priority. Network Rail says more than ?5

:07:26. > :07:28.million is to be spent on improving the line by 2015.

:07:29. > :07:31.And in South Hinksey, a new flood barrier has protected homes from

:07:32. > :07:34.rising water levels over the weekend. Residents had been calling

:07:35. > :07:37.for a permanent defence after being affected by flooding twice this year

:07:38. > :07:41.already. The army was brought in on Friday to build the wall. It was the

:07:42. > :07:43.second time they'd tried after being stood down when water levels were

:07:44. > :07:46.too high. A couple from Milton Keynes have

:07:47. > :07:50.told the BBC about their miracle baby. Marie Andrews has brittle bone

:07:51. > :07:52.disease and has suffered 200 fractures in her lifetime. But

:07:53. > :07:56.despite the challenges, she was determined to be a mum. Anna Todd

:07:57. > :08:07.went to meet her, husband Dan and ten`week`old baby Mark.

:08:08. > :08:12.Marie Andrews never expected this, to be changing her own baby's

:08:13. > :08:17.nappy. It was the impossible dream. The final goal she set herself

:08:18. > :08:26.following a major operation at the age of 14. It was either I give up,

:08:27. > :08:29.I don't get through this back operation or I do the best I can

:08:30. > :08:36.with the body I have got. That is how I saw it. I wrote it all down

:08:37. > :08:39.and I was determined to do everything on that list. I think

:08:40. > :08:46.everything is pretty much ticked off. Marie from Milton Keynes did

:08:47. > :08:52.not grow properly because her bones kept breaking. She has a rare

:08:53. > :08:57.disease, commonly known as brittle bone disease. In and out of plaster

:08:58. > :09:02.200 times. The shopping list of goals gave her a chance to be

:09:03. > :09:08.normal. She went to university, got a job, flew a plane, found a

:09:09. > :09:15.boyfriend and last year married him. Mark was carried by a surrogate. The

:09:16. > :09:23.birth was amazing. It was a homebirth. We were waiting in the

:09:24. > :09:29.lounge next door. We hold him at two minutes old `` we held him. We were

:09:30. > :09:33.there from the very first moment. There was a 50% chance that the baby

:09:34. > :09:37.might have inherited the condition. Thankfully, he is fit and healthy.

:09:38. > :09:47.Her personal assistant Mickey helps her beady hands`on man she wants to

:09:48. > :09:53.be with husband Dan and Mark, Marie's life is complete.

:09:54. > :09:57.He is adorable. Congratulations to Marie and Dan.

:09:58. > :09:59.The goals from the weekend's football matches for Oxford and the

:10:00. > :10:07.MK Dons are coming up. outlet in Northern Ireland on

:10:08. > :10:12.Saturday. Still to come, how the weather hit

:10:13. > :10:19.one of the big Cup games over the weekend. Rain falling again, but

:10:20. > :10:23.they are hopeful the first leg will go ahead as planned.

:10:24. > :10:36.Will these sets of fans can dream of Wembley. Southampton fans cannot.

:10:37. > :10:39.They are not happy about it. A mother has been telling an inquest

:10:40. > :10:43.how her 24`year`old daughter was stabbed to death at Bognor Regis in

:10:44. > :10:46.West Sussex by her estranged husband as she was about to be driven to a

:10:47. > :10:49.women's refuge. Cassandra Hasanovic was killed by her Serbian`born

:10:50. > :10:53.husband Hajrudin Hasanovic in front of their two young sons in July

:10:54. > :11:04.2008. An inquest into her death is now being held in Chichester.

:11:05. > :11:10.Arriving at Chichester Coroner's Courts to tell a jury about the

:11:11. > :11:14.events leading up to the death of her daughter. Cassandra Hasanovic

:11:15. > :11:19.was 24 and the mother of two boys aged two and four. She had been the

:11:20. > :11:24.victim of previous violence by her husband, Hajrudin Hasanovic. He was

:11:25. > :11:32.an illegal immigrants when they met when she was 18. She was stabbed to

:11:33. > :11:37.death by her husband outside her mother's house in July 2008. He

:11:38. > :11:43.dragged her out of the carrier she was about to be driven to a women's

:11:44. > :11:49.refuge. He was convicted of murder and jailed for life. Giving

:11:50. > :11:52.evidence, she said her daughter reported her husband to the police

:11:53. > :11:58.for domestic violence and fled with her children to Australia to try to

:11:59. > :12:02.escape but she began custody proceedings and return to the UK.

:12:03. > :12:08.She said her daughter received death threats. She said to was petrified

:12:09. > :12:16.and said, I know he is going to kill me. She said her two grandson 's

:12:17. > :12:28.love with her in Australia. The hearing is expected to last up to

:12:29. > :12:33.two weeks. A man has appeared in court charged

:12:34. > :12:40.with causing the death of two cyclists last week. A 31`year`old

:12:41. > :12:44.has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving

:12:45. > :12:48.and three other motoring offences. The largest ever P Cruises ship

:12:49. > :12:51.has been launched. A year from now Britannia will be based in

:12:52. > :12:59.Southampton, bringing around 3,500 extra passengers to the port each

:13:00. > :13:02.time she calls. Our transport correspondent reports from the

:13:03. > :13:05.shipyard in Italy where Britannia is being built.

:13:06. > :13:11.Britannia is twice the size of older P cruise ships. It will be one of

:13:12. > :13:17.the largest to sail from Southampton. At lunchtime two coins

:13:18. > :13:24.were welded into the ship, British and Italian. Then came the

:13:25. > :13:29.traditional launching ceremony. But ships like this are too big to be

:13:30. > :13:33.launched in the old fashioned way. Instead, the dry dock is gently

:13:34. > :13:45.flooded, allowing the ship to float for the first time. It is different

:13:46. > :13:52.for us each launch, because it is a different ship. On board, it is

:13:53. > :13:58.still a building site. This is your first time in the new office. This

:13:59. > :14:02.is the first time in my new home. Can you imagine it finished? I can't

:14:03. > :14:06.imagine the finer points of it, but it's unbelievable, isn't it? You

:14:07. > :14:16.wouldn't believe that this space is going to be a luxury hotel in just a

:14:17. > :14:20.year's time. The ship is aimed mainly at British passengers. So

:14:21. > :14:23.when Britannia arrives in 2015, she will introduce another 25% of

:14:24. > :14:26.available berths to P Cruises, and to the Southampton economy around

:14:27. > :14:38.about ?2 million every time her ship comes into port. Outside it will be

:14:39. > :14:42.the first P and O ship for 20 years not to have a final painted cream.

:14:43. > :14:45.The ship will arrive in Southampton next spring. At almost the same

:14:46. > :14:49.time, the rival royal Caribbean cruise line will bring an even

:14:50. > :14:52.bigger new ship. Between them, they will create the biggest growth in

:14:53. > :15:02.capacity in the British cruise industry for many years.

:15:03. > :15:06.Onto sport now, and two non`league clubs from Hampshire aiming for a

:15:07. > :15:09.place in a Wembley final will play the first leg of their FA trophy

:15:10. > :15:14.semi final tonight after Saturday's match was postponed due to the

:15:15. > :15:22.continuing bad weather. Our reporter is at Westleigh Park tonight. It is

:15:23. > :15:29.raining tonight as well, but not quite as bad.

:15:30. > :15:32.It rained for about the last ten minutes, but they have done really

:15:33. > :15:43.well to get this game in a position to be on. It is well bearing the

:15:44. > :15:46.effects. It is wet. Look at the sand they have down. This is a special

:15:47. > :15:54.type of sand that helps to drain the rain away quickly, lots of it around

:15:55. > :16:02.the pitch. This is the first leg of the FA trophy semifinal. There was

:16:03. > :16:05.lots of other football across the weekend.

:16:06. > :16:08.Reading secured a big win in the Championship to keep them in the

:16:09. > :16:12.promotion race yesterday. They won 3`1 at third in the table QPR. Danny

:16:13. > :16:17.Williams had headed them into an early lead. Former Reading striker

:16:18. > :16:22.Kevin Doyle pounced on a loose ball to level the scores after 20

:16:23. > :16:26.minutes. Reading ensured all three points, though, with two goals in

:16:27. > :16:29.three minutes after half time. Alex Pearce headed in a corner and then

:16:30. > :16:37.just moments later Gareth McLeary scored with a remarkable 30 yard

:16:38. > :16:43.effort. Reading are still sixth, but four points clear of seventh placed

:16:44. > :16:45.Brighton. Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino

:16:46. > :16:50.came in for some stinging criticism from fans and pundits as his side

:16:51. > :16:56.was knocked out of the FA Cup at Sunderland on Saturday. Pochettino

:16:57. > :17:00.maintained his policy of making changes to his starting 11 in Cup

:17:01. > :17:04.matches, despite many fans believing the Cup was the club's best chance

:17:05. > :17:07.of success this season. Craig Gardner's superb strike settled the

:17:08. > :17:09.game but all controversy over the team selection would have been

:17:10. > :17:15.forgotten if Rickie Lambert hadn't missed from close range. Pochettino

:17:16. > :17:19.has not spoken to the media before or after a Cup match this season and

:17:20. > :17:25.left it to his assistant to say they were "a little bit sad" to lose.

:17:26. > :17:42.Southampton fans furious Oxford United remained firmly in the

:17:43. > :17:48.hunt for promotion after victory over Mansfield. Player of the month

:17:49. > :17:54.Ryan Clark in league two produced several crucial saves early on.

:17:55. > :17:58.David Connolly opened the scoring with a sublime shots. After the

:17:59. > :18:04.break, the lead was doubled in style. Fellow new recruit unleashed

:18:05. > :18:10.a rocket. Razor`sharp play from Constable and Connelly carved open

:18:11. > :18:18.the chance for number three. Oxford remain in the automatic promotion

:18:19. > :18:22.places. In league one, the MK Dons left it late but it was worth the

:18:23. > :18:29.wait. Golden took the lead but the MK Dons battled back. `` Oldham took

:18:30. > :18:32.the lead. A dramatic last`minute winner.

:18:33. > :18:44.held on well. There's safe keeping them out. Portsmouth are 17th.

:18:45. > :18:47.Portsmouth have signed a midfielder from Brentford this afternoon.

:18:48. > :18:51.Southampton would have drawn an away tie at either Brighton or Hull and

:18:52. > :18:55.those two sides meet tonight in the fifth round. Swindon could also

:18:56. > :19:09.reach Wembley, they have the second leg of their Johnstone's Paint

:19:10. > :19:13.trophy tie against Peterborough. This is the first leg tonight. One

:19:14. > :19:20.of the most talked about games four years or cause we know that one of

:19:21. > :19:26.them is going to Wembley. We can talk to the managers. Home advantage

:19:27. > :19:33.tonight. You want to get a foothold on it. Yes. It is a long time. We

:19:34. > :19:38.are home first which can be seen as an advantage. We want to go out and

:19:39. > :19:46.enjoy the game. We have been looking forward to it for so long. I was out

:19:47. > :19:52.in the middle and it is heavy. Are the players ready? Yes. They are

:19:53. > :20:00.used to it. It is heavily sanded. Hopefully it will hold up. I will

:20:01. > :20:08.let you go to the dressing room. You are hoping to go back to Wembley.

:20:09. > :20:14.Are your boys ready? Was the puzzlement much of a disruption?

:20:15. > :20:18.They have done well to get the game on. We have had rain all day and I

:20:19. > :20:25.was worried it would be touch and go. At least we will get a game of

:20:26. > :20:33.football. Tonight you have to take it to Gosport and make it came on on

:20:34. > :20:42.Saturday. I would like to think so, we are Gosport. I meant the second

:20:43. > :20:51.leg. Yes. We will make sure we give it a good shot. Good luck. Glyn

:20:52. > :20:58.Maxwell completed his move to Hampshire. Penny Coomes has finished

:20:59. > :21:01.10th at the ice dance competition. Alongside partner Nick Buckland, the

:21:02. > :21:04.pair went into today's free programme lying in eleventh place

:21:05. > :21:06.after being penalised in their technical programme yesterday. But

:21:07. > :21:10.they impressed the judges with their Michael Jackson inspired routine to

:21:11. > :21:19.move up the standings and hit their Sochi target of a top ten placing.

:21:20. > :21:25.It was amazing. Picking Michael Jackson, we thought the crowd would

:21:26. > :21:29.get into it, everybody loves it. The crowd were on our side which helped

:21:30. > :21:37.us get through the programme. We thoroughly enjoyed it full is I hope

:21:38. > :21:41.they did too. Well done to them. Who is going to get the first leg

:21:42. > :21:48.advantage? We will have to wait and see. I think they want to get this

:21:49. > :21:54.game going because on Saturday they have the return second like. We will

:21:55. > :21:57.have the goals tomorrow. A children's hospice in Hampshire

:21:58. > :22:00.has launched an appeal today to raise ?4 million. Naomi House in

:22:01. > :22:04.Sutton Scotney provides care and support for children, young adults

:22:05. > :22:07.and their families. They've called it the Caterpillar Appeal because

:22:08. > :22:09.caterpillars grow and change, as have the demands of looking after

:22:10. > :22:20.children with life`limiting conditions.

:22:21. > :22:30.If you close your eyes you will see the only thing that he sees. He can

:22:31. > :22:33.feel he is somewhere different. It is important because his life

:22:34. > :22:40.expectancy is not very long and it is nice to see him into the pool

:22:41. > :22:44.with his family and play with us. Today, and Iomega houses giving its

:22:45. > :22:51.family the first lady in the mag years. It is the only time we have

:22:52. > :22:56.been able to play together because it is so cold usually. The hospice

:22:57. > :23:03.was opened with the royal welcome nearly two decades ago. It has

:23:04. > :23:09.curbed unsupported children `` cleared for and supported children

:23:10. > :23:15.with life limiting conditions. We need to raise ?4 million to

:23:16. > :23:22.completely refurbish. We need a new bereavement suite. It is a sad but

:23:23. > :23:26.important part of our business. We need somewhere for families to be so

:23:27. > :23:33.that they are not far from the child. A bridge will be built so

:23:34. > :23:39.that children like this boy will not have to go outside to get to the

:23:40. > :23:43.pool. So far the hospice has helped over 600 families but it needs the

:23:56. > :24:01.Do we still have severe weather warnings?

:24:17. > :24:20.Vivienne. Chris took this photo at Arundel Castle this morning. And a

:24:21. > :24:28.splash of colour in Wool in Dorset captured by Stewart. We have one

:24:29. > :24:31.weather warning in force for Dorset. We might see some rainfall which

:24:32. > :24:39.will add to the flooding problems, but not too significant. There will

:24:40. > :24:45.be some showers at times, outbreaks of rain and maybe some hill fog and

:24:46. > :24:51.mist. This will reduce visibility if you are doubtful is top we are

:24:52. > :24:57.looking at showers, some heavy, but gradually drying out from the west

:24:58. > :25:07.later with temperatures falling to around 6`7 Celsius. Wind is not too

:25:08. > :25:10.strong, fairly light from the south. It will be a slight improvement in

:25:11. > :25:14.the picture in the afternoon. The showers could be on the heavy side

:25:15. > :25:19.around the middle part of the day but we will start to see sunshine

:25:20. > :25:24.developed later. A high of 9`10 Celsius. Because the winds are

:25:25. > :25:29.light, the showers could be slow`moving. They will continue

:25:30. > :25:33.tomorrow night through the early hours of Wednesday morning and we

:25:34. > :25:38.are looking at the showers mainly light and patchy but someone

:25:39. > :25:47.Heaviside with temperatures falling to 4`5 Celsius. Wednesday is a

:25:48. > :25:54.repeat performance on Tuesday. Dry and brighter through the afternoon.

:26:15. > :26:20.miles per hour. Some rain about tomorrow, drying up through the

:26:21. > :26:28.afternoon, brighter spells later on Tuesday, rain on Thursday and
