:00:10. > :00:13.Good evening. Immigration officers have arrested 17 illegal workers in

:00:14. > :00:19.South Oxfordshire following a series of coordinated operations bx the

:00:20. > :00:22.Home Office. Officers targeted six restaurants in Didcot and m`ny of

:00:23. > :00:30.those detained will now be removed from the UK. Peter Cooke reports.

:00:31. > :00:33.The scene in Didcot last night as immigration officers raided several

:00:34. > :00:40.businesses in and around thd Broadway. Restaurants targeted

:00:41. > :00:43.included Kolkata, Angel Falls and Broadway Spice. It's believdd all

:00:44. > :00:46.are connected in ownership. 17 men, aged between 25 and 50, werd

:00:47. > :00:50.arrested. All suspected of overstaying their visas or dntering

:00:51. > :01:00.the country illegally. This whole operation was intelligence led.

:01:01. > :01:07.Suffice to say, we do think they were linked. One officer told us

:01:08. > :01:12.that when they entered a takeaway, someone was straight on the phone to

:01:13. > :01:15.a neighbouring takeaway, only to find we were already there `s well.

:01:16. > :01:19.So there were links and the intelligence was good. All of those

:01:20. > :01:24.arrested will now be detaindd, pending removal from the UK, except

:01:25. > :01:32.three men who have been bailed. Each business faces a fine of up to

:01:33. > :01:38.?10,000 per worker, leading to a final fan `` fine of up to ?200 000

:01:39. > :01:42.unless they can prove they carried out the correct checks. Thex have

:01:43. > :01:50.been many rates over the last few years `` three years which have led

:01:51. > :01:55.to ?461,000 in fines. Local residents had things to say. They

:01:56. > :02:02.come here looking for a better life and they are left penniless. What do

:02:03. > :02:06.they do? English people don't want some of the jobs and that is why

:02:07. > :02:12.they have illegal immigrants in The Home Office says they warn people

:02:13. > :02:23.they will face severe penalties if they are not following the rules.

:02:24. > :02:25.??NE An Oxfordshire doctor has been suspended with immediate effect

:02:26. > :02:28.following a disciplinary he`ring. It follows a ruling by a medical

:02:29. > :02:31.tribunal that found the tre`tment Dr Srinivas Yenugula gave to some of

:02:32. > :02:34.his female patients was probably sexually motivated. Three ydars ago,

:02:35. > :02:38.the doctor, from Sandford on Thames, was cleared by a criminal court

:02:39. > :02:41.Pupils at Didcot Girls school have been raising money for a ch`rity set

:02:42. > :02:45.up in the name of the murdered teenager Jayden Parkinson today

:02:46. > :02:47.Classmates were asked to pax ?1 to wear the colour purple, Jayden's

:02:48. > :02:50.favourite colour. Her former boyfriend, Ben Blakeley, is charged

:02:51. > :02:53.with her murder. A 17`year`old boy is also charged with perverting the

:02:54. > :02:55.course of justice. Today, a 48`year`old woman, arrested in

:02:56. > :02:58.February, has been released without charge.

:02:59. > :03:01.An apology's been issued to some residents living in Oxford `fter

:03:02. > :03:05.they were woken by up to 90 decibels of noise from railway works. People

:03:06. > :03:08.in Wolvercote say they weren't notified about the disturbance

:03:09. > :03:12.caused by a new freight lind being built to Banbury. Across

:03:13. > :03:16.Oxfordshire, more than 24 bridges will be modified this summer as part

:03:17. > :03:23.of a project to electrify the London to Bristol route. The work's already

:03:24. > :03:28.got underway in Swindon, whdre motorists have been left unhappy.

:03:29. > :03:31.Here's Tom Turrell. Network rail say they're working

:03:32. > :03:35.around the clock to improve the track so it can carry more freight.

:03:36. > :03:40.The problem is, it's the working around the clock that's upsdt people

:03:41. > :03:44.nearby. ANGLE GRINDER WHIRRS.

:03:45. > :03:49.This is the kind of noise they say has woken them up to in the middle

:03:50. > :03:52.of the night. Rob's one of those who says it's so loud, it's keeping him

:03:53. > :03:56.and his family awake. On Sunday morning at 4am, many local residents

:03:57. > :04:06.were woken up by a fairly ott of the world noise, a bit like an

:04:07. > :04:09.industrial angle grinder from hell. What Rob heard came from thdse

:04:10. > :04:15.tracks just a stones throw from his bedroom window. Network Rail will be

:04:16. > :04:18.either rebuilding or modifyhng 6 bridges across Oxfordshire `s they

:04:19. > :04:25.work to get the line electrhfied by 2015. Whilst the local councillor

:04:26. > :04:35.has sympathy, she insists all the work has got to be completed. It

:04:36. > :04:38.will help to get the freight off of the local A road, which has to be

:04:39. > :04:42.good news, and faster passenger trains which will encourage people

:04:43. > :04:48.to get the train instead of driving, which considering local congestion

:04:49. > :04:53.is a good. But it is painful for people living nearby in the

:04:54. > :04:57.meantime. So it seems for now at least, Rob and others in Wolvercote

:04:58. > :04:58.may have a few more sleepless nights ahead.

:04:59. > :05:01.When 11`year`old Steven Courtney from Bicester was diagnosed with

:05:02. > :05:08.diabetes, he lacked confidence and was unhappy, but support was to come

:05:09. > :05:16.from an unlikely source. Here he is with Mollsy ` the family's cocker

:05:17. > :05:19.spaniel. Molly has been trahned to detect when Steven's blood sugar

:05:20. > :05:20.levels rise. It could win hdr a national award. Jeremy Stern

:05:21. > :05:24.reports. Stephen and Charlie can't w`it for

:05:25. > :05:27.school to finish because thdy get to see Molly. She's more than just the

:05:28. > :05:30.family's pet ` they say the cocker spaniel's a life saver. Stephen has

:05:31. > :05:34.type one diabetes. Molly's trained to help him. She works night and day

:05:35. > :05:38.even when on the football phtch When I am playing, she sits on the

:05:39. > :05:42.side and is always watching. If my blood sugar levels start to go

:05:43. > :05:49.funny, she will claw at my bag, which will tell my mum that I need

:05:50. > :05:53.to test. Stephen and Molly had a special bond from the off. Lolly

:05:54. > :05:56.used to get agitated when Stephen fell ill. The Medical Detection Dogs

:05:57. > :06:02.charity says all animals have sense for these things, but Molly is

:06:03. > :06:07.particularly instinctive. Experts gave her proper training and it s

:06:08. > :06:11.helped the family no end. I used to be so worried and if he had a

:06:12. > :06:14.particularly bad day, we were frightened to go to sleep at night

:06:15. > :06:18.because we knew things were a bit off, whereas now I know she will

:06:19. > :06:23.wake him or probably us if `nything goes wrong. Molly's been nolinated

:06:24. > :06:27.for the Friends For Life aw`rd at Crufts this weekend. All five

:06:28. > :06:33.finalists are special dogs but Stephen's brother Charlie rdckons

:06:34. > :06:35.Molly has the edge. She is the best dog and she is very cute, aren't

:06:36. > :06:45.you? That is a clever dog. The wdather's

:06:46. > :06:48.next, starting with the reghonal forecast from Sarah Farmer. That's

:06:49. > :06:55.it from us, though. Have a good weekend. Goodnight.

:06:56. > :06:59.Good evening. The cloud is thickening food tonight and we have

:07:00. > :07:06.some murky conditions to cole by the early hours. Perhaps some drizzle,

:07:07. > :07:11.fog and mist possible as well. Overnight temperatures at 44

:07:12. > :07:18.degrees. A grey and start to the day, but don't be disheartened. That

:07:19. > :07:22.great weather will move northwards leaving fine conditions into the

:07:23. > :07:28.afternoon. Feeling pleasantly warm as well with highs of 14, pdrhaps a

:07:29. > :07:32.degree or two warmer. Sundax looks to be a fine and pleasant d`y with

:07:33. > :07:33.springtime sunshine on offer and if you

:07:34. > :07:40.National forecast. London's outlook, plenty of sunshine.

:07:41. > :07:44.Hello. You have got to love the British weather. For a time this

:07:45. > :07:47.afternoon, it felt like we had skipped ahead a couple of months as

:07:48. > :07:52.temperatures reached 17 degrees across parts of southern England.

:07:53. > :07:53.That is the average for the middle of May. Across
