:00:19. > :00:23.Good evening. Lightning strhkes have destroyed a sports pavilion in

:00:24. > :00:26.Oxfordshire, as well as hitting several homes and a car, tr`pping

:00:27. > :00:29.two children inside. The storm also brought down trees onto two railway

:00:30. > :00:32.lines. Our reporter has been following the story and explained

:00:33. > :00:35.more about what happened today. The weather forecast for Oxford

:00:36. > :00:37.today was just cloudy. At ltnchtime there was this unexpected

:00:38. > :00:40.thunderstorm. The Fire Servhce were called out to jobs all over the

:00:41. > :00:43.county, including Banbury County Cricket Club. The building has been

:00:44. > :00:50.totally destroyed by a fire caused by a lightning bolt. Fire crews are

:00:51. > :00:56.still there this evening de`ling with a fire. A trustee of the club

:00:57. > :01:00.told me it was devastating because a lot of the history of the club has

:01:01. > :01:04.been destroyed. Everything has gone. The main thing that has comd is the

:01:05. > :01:09.history. From 1932, the tot`l history of the club was there. The

:01:10. > :01:17.minutes, the pictures, the commemorations. Everything has gone.

:01:18. > :01:24.Many people have played herd over the years. It has all gone. The

:01:25. > :01:30.storm caused disruption elsdwhere? That's right. It's been a btsy

:01:31. > :01:33.afternoon for fire crews. They were called to houses in Didcot struck by

:01:34. > :01:37.lightning. A car in Banbury was also struck, causing the door locking

:01:38. > :01:40.mechanisms to jam and two children were struck inside. They had to be

:01:41. > :01:48.rescued. The Chiltern Railw`y Line has been disrupted. These phctures

:01:49. > :01:53.will show you why. These have been sent in by viewers. The good news

:01:54. > :02:07.this evening is those lines have been cleared and all the lines are

:02:08. > :02:10.up and running. Cat owners are being reassured that

:02:11. > :02:14.the risk of catching tuberctlosis from their pets is very small, after

:02:15. > :02:17.two people in Newbury caught TB from their cats. They were first known

:02:18. > :02:20.cases in the world. For millions of cat owners, this

:02:21. > :02:23.news might come as a shock. Two people in Berkshire are recovering

:02:24. > :02:27.after being infected with TB by their cats. This vet in Newbury

:02:28. > :02:33.raised the alarm after a cltster of nine cats in one small area got

:02:34. > :02:36.bovine TB. My theory is that a stray cat has become infected either by

:02:37. > :02:40.hunting an infected small animal or perhaps by meeting a badger that is

:02:41. > :02:44.infected and has been going through this territory and maybe had fights

:02:45. > :02:52.with cats. It is almost likd an arc that he has been wandering `long

:02:53. > :02:57.here. The cats had bovine TB which primarily infects cattle. Btt it can

:02:58. > :03:02.be spread by wildlife. The bacteria can be breathed in or passed on

:03:03. > :03:05.through cuts in the skin. Fortunately humans can be ctred with

:03:06. > :03:10.a six`month course of antibhotics. Every year, a few people get bovine

:03:11. > :03:14.TB, also called M bovis. He`lth officials say thousands get TB as a

:03:15. > :03:19.result of human to human transmission. Numbers of M bovis

:03:20. > :03:27.cases are very low, especially if you compare them to the hum`n form.

:03:28. > :03:30.We get 25`35 cases a year. The majority of those are in older

:03:31. > :03:42.groups of people who may have been exposed in the past. The pl`in fact

:03:43. > :03:46.is I have more chance of winning the lottery jackpot or of being struck

:03:47. > :03:49.by lightning than of catching TB from my cat. However, cats can pass

:03:50. > :03:52.on other diseases. Pregnant women are advised to avoid changing cat

:03:53. > :04:00.litter because of a parasitd that can be passed on which can cause

:04:01. > :04:05.birth defects or miscarriagd. All the TB infected cats had opdn wounds

:04:06. > :04:10.and had lost weight. Any pet showing signs of sickness should be taken to

:04:11. > :04:14.a vet. A third man has been charged in

:04:15. > :04:17.connection with the death of a 17`year`old boy in Oxford. Connor

:04:18. > :04:20.Tremble was stabbed in Fair`cres Road last month. Bradley Jones, who

:04:21. > :04:23.is 21 and from Chipping Norton, has been charged with perverting the

:04:24. > :04:26.course of justice. Two men have already been charged over Connor's

:04:27. > :04:35.death ` one with murder, thd other with assisting an offender.

:04:36. > :04:37.Six months after a ten`year`old boy was knocked down and killed in

:04:38. > :04:42.Didcot, his family are camp`igning for a lower speed limit on the road.

:04:43. > :04:47.Freddie Perry died after he was hit by a car last September.

:04:48. > :04:51.Having fun with Freddie. Just three months after this video was taken,

:04:52. > :04:59.Freddie was hit by a car as he crossed the road on his way home in

:05:00. > :05:02.Didcot. His friend he was ott playing with came knocking on the

:05:03. > :05:09.door, saying that Freddie h`d been hit by a car. I thought he would be

:05:10. > :05:15.sat on the side of the road, next to one of the parked vehicles. I didn't

:05:16. > :05:22.expect to see him in a pool of blood. Now his family are

:05:23. > :05:25.campaigning to lower the spded limit and improving the parking on this

:05:26. > :05:30.road where Freddie died. Nothing can bring Freddie back. But we don't

:05:31. > :05:34.want to see any other child injured or their lives taken down hdre. And

:05:35. > :05:39.something will happen if solething is not done. The county council are

:05:40. > :05:42.discussing what they can do to make Oxford Crescent safer. Meanwhile,

:05:43. > :05:44.Freddie's family are setting up a charitable trust. Already ntmerous

:05:45. > :05:48.events have been organised hn Freddie's memory. And the tributes

:05:49. > :05:57.continue. It's a reminder that Freddie was here. He was an

:05:58. > :06:00.important part of the familx. Something really sad happendd. But

:06:01. > :06:04.together we are coming throtgh it. We will always remember Freddie

:06:05. > :06:06.Freddie's family have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of

:06:07. > :06:09.affection from those who relember their little boy. They say the

:06:10. > :06:13.biggest tribute, though, wotld be to slow down the cars on Oxford

:06:14. > :06:16.Crescent. Tickets for Kate Bush's first live

:06:17. > :06:25.shows in thirty five years sold out in less than 15 minutes this

:06:26. > :06:30.morning. The singer ` who h`s a home near Abingdon ` has only totred once

:06:31. > :06:33.back in 1979. She had topped the charts with Wuthering Heights the

:06:34. > :06:36.previous year. She is performing 22 dates in London in August and

:06:37. > :06:39.September. Demand was so high, her website and some other tickdt

:06:40. > :06:45.sellers crashed. Tickets ard being re`sold with asking prices of more

:06:46. > :06:49.than ?1,000. That's it from us for now. The

:06:50. > :06:59.clocks go forward on Sunday. Now the regional weather forecast.

:07:00. > :07:12.Goodnight. The summary is dry and very much

:07:13. > :07:19.warmer. From most of us, it will be fine and dry. Tomorrow, I fhnd a.

:07:20. > :07:24.There will be some high`levdl Cloud making the sunshine he's a. That

:07:25. > :07:27.will not stop temperatures getting up to 16 or 17 degrees. Sunday is

:07:28. > :07:35.similar. Some fine weather. 17 or 18 forward on Saturday night. Now here

:07:36. > :07:42.is Nick Miller with the national forecast.

:07:43. > :07:43.Hello. The clocks go forward this
