:00:12. > :00:17.In Good evening. Counter terrorism police have been in Banbury ` as

:00:18. > :00:20.part of their campaign to stop young British Muslims going to Syria to

:00:21. > :00:24.fight in the conflict there Last month a man from Oxford was arrested

:00:25. > :00:26.by police on suspicion of tdrror offences linked to Syria. Vhctoria

:00:27. > :00:29.Cook reports. More than 400 British Muslils are

:00:30. > :00:36.estimated to have gone to fhght in Syria according to police. Those

:00:37. > :00:42.going are often young men, hnpsired say police by Jihadist ideology on

:00:43. > :00:46.the internet. Today police let leaders of a Muslim women's group in

:00:47. > :00:53.Banbury. The aim ` to get them involved in stopping their lale

:00:54. > :00:57.relatives travelling abroad. It is a really good idea because obviously

:00:58. > :01:01.mothers know what their children are doing or thinking if they h`ve a

:01:02. > :01:04.good relationship with the child. It's this type of imagery e`sily

:01:05. > :01:06.available on social media that's blamed for encouraging Brithsh

:01:07. > :01:10.Muslims to join the Syrian rebel fight against the country's leader `

:01:11. > :01:13.President Assad. The South Dast Counter Terrorism Police ard today

:01:14. > :01:23.launching a new campaign urging people not to go. We have all felt

:01:24. > :01:28.we want to do something but it is very dangerous country. It hs very

:01:29. > :01:32.difficult get into and then when people do get end, they get drawn

:01:33. > :01:36.into activities they did not originally set out to do. More than

:01:37. > :01:39.40 people from the UK were `rrested in connection with Syria thhs year.

:01:40. > :01:42.The numbers are small but police fear those who've been drawn into

:01:43. > :01:46.extremist ideologies abroad police fear, could pose a threat to the UK

:01:47. > :01:49.on their return. Some don't agree with the counter terrorism tactics.

:01:50. > :01:56.Religious leaders in Oxfordshire say it should fall to the community to

:01:57. > :02:03.tackle the problem. Not the police. I think it is better to havd the

:02:04. > :02:07.police in the background rather than at the forefront. I would also

:02:08. > :02:15.question the idea that thosd women can stop these young men because

:02:16. > :02:20.most of these people who ard going abroad to fight doing in secret The

:02:21. > :02:23.fear is that these measures may have little effect on those insphred by

:02:24. > :02:31.the idea of fighting jihad, who see being the prospect of being killed

:02:32. > :02:34.in Syria, as a noble martyr's death. David Cameron has been in

:02:35. > :02:37.Oxfordshire, promising more money to repair damaged roads. The Government

:02:38. > :02:41.is setting up a new fund to fix potholes ` and the County Council

:02:42. > :02:50.says it's going to bid for `lmost five and a half million pounds. Our

:02:51. > :02:52.political reporter Helen Catt has the story.

:02:53. > :02:55.Not many politicians would be pleased to find themselves staring

:02:56. > :02:59.into a hole just weeks before an election. But David Cameron was here

:03:00. > :03:02.in Clifton Hampden to help fill this one. Applications open todax for a

:03:03. > :03:09.new government fund for potholes. Oxfordshire is already spending over

:03:10. > :03:12.?4 million on dealing with potholes. We're setting up this new ftnd, ?168

:03:13. > :03:15.million, enough to mend thrde million potholes. Counties like

:03:16. > :03:21.Oxfordshire will bid for th`t money and get that money in addithon to

:03:22. > :03:23.the money they are renting spending. `` already spending. Oxfordshire

:03:24. > :03:27.county council says it will apply for up to ?5.4 million. Last year

:03:28. > :03:30.the county council said it fixed more than 36,000 potholes in

:03:31. > :03:34.Oxfordshire's roads. At an `verage cost of ?63 per hole, that hs no

:03:35. > :03:37.small bill. There is no guarantee Oxfordshire will get the money. It

:03:38. > :03:41.says to get those completelx up to scratch would take 150 millhon.

:03:42. > :03:46.Earlier Mr Cameron was in Rdading and looking at upgrade work on the

:03:47. > :03:50.Great Western rail line. Sole question how much credit thd

:03:51. > :03:52.coalition government can take. It was the last Labour governmdnt which

:03:53. > :03:58.approved the investment in Reading station and we're now seeing the

:03:59. > :04:01.benefits flowing through. The big question will be if smoother rides

:04:02. > :04:05.on our roads and rail will lake for an easier journey to economhc

:04:06. > :04:08.success. Meanwhile, the Liberal Democrat

:04:09. > :04:12.leader Nick Clegg has launched his party's European Election C`mpaign.

:04:13. > :04:15.The Deputy Prime Minister urged his party to combat the 'EU Myth Makers'

:04:16. > :04:17.and criticised Labour and the Conservatives, saying they'd gone

:04:18. > :04:29."missing in action" instead of challenging UKIP. The isolationists

:04:30. > :04:32.for so many years have complained for many years that every problem

:04:33. > :04:36.would be dealt with by leavhng the European Union. They need to be

:04:37. > :04:39.challenged. We will speak up and I hope people who agree with ts will

:04:40. > :04:43.vote for us on May 22nd. And over the next few weeks we'll

:04:44. > :04:45.hear from the other main parties as they launch their European dlection

:04:46. > :04:48.campaigns. The former Radio 1 and BBC Three

:04:49. > :04:51.Counties DJ, Dave Lee Travis, has appeared before magistrates in

:04:52. > :04:56.central London accused indecently assaulting a woman in 1995. The

:04:57. > :04:59.68`year`old presenter, who lives in Buckinghamshire, pleaded not guilty

:05:00. > :05:01.and will appear in court ag`in next month.

:05:02. > :05:05.Lamb kebabs being sold in Buckinghamshire have been found to

:05:06. > :05:07.contain chicken and beef. Trading Standards officers tested s`mples

:05:08. > :05:13.from take away shops across the county, including Alyesbury. Adina

:05:14. > :05:17.Campbell reports. For some, it's a tasty lunchtime

:05:18. > :05:22.treat or the best way to end a night out. But do we really know what s on

:05:23. > :05:26.that kebab skewer? The simple answer is no if you live in

:05:27. > :05:29.Buckinghamshire. That's according to latest test results from Tr`ding

:05:30. > :05:34.Standards. Officers took salples of meat from take`aways in Ayldsbury,

:05:35. > :05:40.High Wycombe, Amersham and Chesham. They found a majority contahned the

:05:41. > :05:43.wrong kind of meat. You shotld be getting what you pay for. If cheaper

:05:44. > :05:53.products have been substituted, it is to the detriment of the consumer.

:05:54. > :05:56.The numbers are small but of the 14 lamb donor kebabs tested, 10

:05:57. > :06:02.contained chicken and one included beef. And of the 13 burgers sampled,

:06:03. > :06:07.two had lamb in and one camd back as unknown. This road in Aylesbury is

:06:08. > :06:10.full of kebab shops and manx are open from 12 in the afternoon until

:06:11. > :06:14.the early hours of the mornhng. How do people here feel about the meat

:06:15. > :06:22.in their food? I think they are generally very good. They cook them

:06:23. > :06:30.fresh. You generally know what you are getting. It is things that the

:06:31. > :06:34.customer should know. We ard left in the lurch, no one tells us. Even

:06:35. > :06:38.though some kebabs do have ` mixture of meats, Trading Standards say

:06:39. > :06:46.shops must have clear labelling when advertising their meals.

:06:47. > :06:49.Alexis has the regional weather forecast ` and we're back in BBC

:06:50. > :06:54.Breakfast. From everyone here, goodnight.

:06:55. > :07:00.Good evening. A lot of cloud around tonight and missed in places with

:07:01. > :07:05.the odd stray shower. It will stay frost free. Mainly dry start to the

:07:06. > :07:10.day tomorrow, mist and fog will clear first thing. Showers will roll

:07:11. > :07:17.in late morning and they cotld be heavy. Drier periods through the

:07:18. > :07:23.afternoon to allow for some sunshine and temperatures will reach a high

:07:24. > :07:31.of 14 Celsius. But the showdrs could be slow`moving. It remains tnsettled

:07:32. > :07:32.for the rest of the week. Unsettled over the weekend,

:07:33. > :07:37.weekend, you can see what is going on. Sunday might be brighter. Now

:07:38. > :07:41.over to Louise Lear for the national weather.

:07:42. > :07:45.Good evening. Today has been a day of sunny spells and a few scattered

:07:46. > :07:48.showers, but where we see the sunshine, we have also seen some

:07:49. > :07:53.warmth, with temperatures in the high teens. A slightly disappointing

:07:54. > :08:00.story across the far north-east of Scotland. We keep that easterly feed

:08:01. > :08:03.through the night to night, but looking out into the Atlantic, we

:08:04. > :08:06.also start to pick up the south-westerly circulate in, and

:08:07. > :08:12.area of low pressure bringing in some blustery winds for the start of

:08:13. > :08:19.the weekend. Tonight it stays mostly dry, with some fog around. And we

:08:20. > :08:25.pick up the risk of a few showers in the far south-east. Clearer skies at

:08:26. > :08:30.the the South West, and cloudy, murky start our day tomorrow the

:08:31. > :08:34.showers gather in strength and then start to march north and west. Some

:08:35. > :08:35.of those showers quite heavy and
