:01:29. > :01:36.A decade on and still no answers ` only questions about the murder

:01:37. > :01:46.Father of two Kevin Lavelle was known as Buddy, as his family

:01:47. > :01:51.This footage, released today, was taken when he was in Spain two

:01:52. > :01:57.Mr Lavelle was beaten with a dumbbell at the Cricketers Pub

:01:58. > :02:04.Ceri Noble, from Wales, was charged with the murder, but the court case

:02:05. > :02:08.collapsed when it could not be proved who had dealt the final blow.

:02:09. > :02:11.In 2009, an inquest ruled that Mr Lavelle had been unlawfully killed.

:02:12. > :02:13.A year later, the family unsuccessfully pursued

:02:14. > :02:21.civil damages against three men who were in the pub that night.

:02:22. > :02:25.Kevin was so outgoing and he did all kinds of things with them.

:02:26. > :02:28.James goes to school and listens to his friends say what

:02:29. > :02:35.But James does not have his dad to do that with, does he?

:02:36. > :02:37.The detective who led the initial investigation retired

:02:38. > :02:40.earlier this year, but he has returned to help Thames Valley

:02:41. > :02:45.I'm quite sure if we have to go another five or 10 years it

:02:46. > :02:52.There are people out there who will have been party to discussions with

:02:53. > :02:58.The pub has been converted into flats, but that has not

:02:59. > :03:03.That is because plenty of DNA evidence was collected

:03:04. > :03:08.But what has been lacking is the key eyewitness `

:03:09. > :03:13.someone who saw the person that beat Kevin Lavelle to death.

:03:14. > :03:15.Mr Lavelle has been remembered at the estate

:03:16. > :03:23.They have promised to continue to campaign for a conviction,

:03:24. > :03:32.A man from Aylesbury has been convicted of the rape

:03:33. > :03:35.of a pregnant woman in Norwich more than seventeen years ago.

:03:36. > :03:38.Peter Carroll also attempted to strangle his twenty`year`old victim,

:03:39. > :03:40.leaving her unconscious at the scene.

:03:41. > :03:42.She scratched his face in the attack.

:03:43. > :03:44.Advances in technology police could then use

:03:45. > :03:51.DNA to help convict Carroll after case was reviewed last September.

:03:52. > :03:53.Seventy workers in Swindon are to lose

:03:54. > :03:56.their jobs because the underwear maker Triumph is transferring

:03:57. > :04:01.Menlo has despatched products for Triumph for the past four years.

:04:29. > :04:38.A simulated injury, yes, but with added complications thrown

:04:39. > :04:42.in ` to not only test the clinical expertise of the medical staff,

:04:43. > :04:50.We don?t want them making critical decisions that they have not done

:04:51. > :04:52.before, or have not had the familiarisation

:04:53. > :05:04.One of a number of people assessing the trauma team's performance.

:05:05. > :05:06.The John Radcliffe Hospital is the major trauma centre

:05:07. > :05:11.It is treating more patients suffering from complex

:05:12. > :05:16.And bosses there say this unique programme helps them offer

:05:17. > :05:21.Quite frankly, we should not be practising on patients any more.

:05:22. > :05:24.We should be using these plastic mannequins before we ever go

:05:25. > :05:30.You can imagine that particularly in trauma,

:05:31. > :05:34.where it is very high pressure, it is a very valuable tool.

:05:35. > :05:37.The team here knows that next time the person will be very real and

:05:38. > :05:46.Parents on a growing housing estate in Milton Keynes are concerned that

:05:47. > :05:49.a shortage of primary school places is only going to get worse

:05:50. > :05:54.30 families who live in the catchment area for

:05:55. > :05:56.Oxley Park Academy have been told it is oversubscribed

:05:57. > :05:59.and have been offered alternative schools much further away.

:06:00. > :06:02.While many have lodged appeals, the council says it is facing

:06:03. > :06:05.a difficult challenge ` as Neil Bradford reports.

:06:06. > :06:11.In three months, Zane Sampson starts school for the first time.

:06:12. > :06:14.His parents had hoped he would attend the one closest to home `

:06:15. > :06:19.But they have been told it is oversubscribed.

:06:20. > :06:21.Instead, the four`year`old has now been allocated a place

:06:22. > :06:29.Our family only have one car, which my husband uses to get to work.

:06:30. > :06:34.So that would mean I would have to walk Zane 45 minutes,

:06:35. > :06:37.every day in all weathers, to school and pick him up again.

:06:38. > :06:41.So that is twice in a day, so for a little tot that is quite

:06:42. > :06:45.a long distance to have to walk just to get to school.

:06:46. > :06:47.Zane is not the only child to miss out

:06:48. > :06:52.Around 30 children who live in the catchment area have also

:06:53. > :06:57.Milton Keynes Council says it recognises the disappointment of

:06:58. > :07:00.parents, but says this area presents them with a number of challenges.

:07:01. > :07:03.Firstly, the birth`rate has risen significantly in recent years and,

:07:04. > :07:06.secondly, scope for expansion at the school is limited.

:07:07. > :07:10.Across the town, as a whole, 88% of children were allocated

:07:11. > :07:17.In Oxley Park, a growing estate, Louise Sampson believes,

:07:18. > :07:21.unless a solution is found, there will continue to be

:07:22. > :07:29.Louise says sending her son to an alternative school will have

:07:30. > :07:33.Her only hope now is a successful appeal.
