:02:39. > :02:43.Developing companies looking for money and support say

:02:44. > :02:45.the Thames Valley simply isn't geared up to help them grow.

:02:46. > :03:00.On the River Thames, Rovers are testing the technology at this

:03:01. > :03:04.start`up. Its clothing is ddsigned to help the wearer perform better

:03:05. > :03:08.and orders are coming in from all over the world. This new businesses

:03:09. > :03:13.based at Reading University, and they want to stay local. Having

:03:14. > :03:17.resorts is and advisers thex can talk to, and I think there `re

:03:18. > :03:21.plenty of them around in thd Thames Valley, but they are perhaps not as

:03:22. > :03:27.well publicised. For an increasing number, this is where it is at. Tech

:03:28. > :03:32.city, in east London, where it has become the place to be. Thex started

:03:33. > :03:40.out in the Thames Valley but came here having launched a new digital

:03:41. > :03:48.CV. It is more for the largd companies like Microsoft. For

:03:49. > :03:52.start`ups like myself, it is hard because we can't find many

:03:53. > :03:58.incubators and accelerators down there. In a bid to step up, events

:03:59. > :04:05.are being held around the Thames Valley. From the autumn thex will

:04:06. > :04:09.take place weekly. We bring start`up businesses together with mentors and

:04:10. > :04:12.funding so they realise there is a sense of community here. We also

:04:13. > :04:18.work with a number of peopld in the region who look with initiatives to

:04:19. > :04:21.help them happen in the reghon. Reading University is providing the

:04:22. > :04:25.right environment needed for growth, which has helped kedp this

:04:26. > :04:30.business afloat is one of htndreds of ideas born in the Thames Valley.

:04:31. > :04:32.They each bring money into the local economy, something the region cannot

:04:33. > :04:37.afford to let slip away. The number of cows contracthng

:04:38. > :04:40.bovine TB has reached its hhghest There are now more cows affdcted

:04:41. > :04:44.by the disease in Oxfordshire than Berkshire, Northamptonshire

:04:45. > :04:46.and Buckinghamshire combined. One farmer says he's

:04:47. > :04:48.been to hell and back. Ian's dairy farm has been

:04:49. > :04:51.in the family for a century. This is the first time it h`s

:04:52. > :04:54.ever been infected with TB. Ian's son had to get two

:04:55. > :05:12.of the animals ready to be taken The powers just stood there, I

:05:13. > :05:17.didn't even have two restrahn them. We felt we had let them down by

:05:18. > :05:18.letting this happen to them. That really hit home to me and brought a

:05:19. > :05:19.tear to my eye. Across Oxfordshire alone, more than

:05:20. > :05:22.230 cows were slaughtered in 20 2. Last year, that number

:05:23. > :05:24.had risen to nearly 670. 63 herds were affected

:05:25. > :05:45.in March 2014 ` the highest number TB was confirmed on a farm on the

:05:46. > :05:49.other side of the valley 18 months ago. 12 months ago on a farl over to

:05:50. > :05:55.my right, and now, straight ahead of me, at this farm. Despite the fact

:05:56. > :05:59.that TB is clearly in the area, no local wildlife has been tested for

:06:00. > :06:05.the disease. TB is killing our cattle industry. As can herd, it is

:06:06. > :06:06.killing our beef and dairy industries.

:06:07. > :06:08.DEFRA insists it has a long`term strategy to eradicate

:06:09. > :06:10.the disease, using vaccines, cattle controls, and culling.

:06:11. > :06:14.Ian 's cows will be subject to further tests, so all he can do is

:06:15. > :06:27.wait, and hope that no more of his animals will be slaughtered.

:06:28. > :06:34.Protesters have gathered outside the BBC's building in Summertown today.

:06:35. > :06:39.The pro`Palestine campaigners were say the BBC's reporting of dvents in

:06:40. > :06:45.the Middle East is biased in favour of Israel. A spokesperson s`id the

:06:55. > :07:00.Good evening, it will stay dry and humid for the time of year. The good

:07:01. > :07:06.news is tomorrow starts off on a lovely, sunny note. Sunshind

:07:07. > :07:09.initially, but cloud coming up from the north and west, which whll spill

:07:10. > :07:15.south and east with through tomorrow will stop temperatures may well be

:07:16. > :07:21.higher than today, possibly up to 23 or 24 Celsius. The outside chance of

:07:22. > :07:29.a shower for western areas. Hotter still on Thursday, and even warmer

:07:30. > :07:30.by Friday with a potential of a high of 29 Celsius. Thunderstorms are a

:07:31. > :07:34.possibility on Saturday. tricky situation. Matt will explain

:07:35. > :07:40.more. And he will tell you that it didn't rain today.

:07:41. > :07:47.The outlook for the next 40 days will be straightforward to St swith

:07:48. > :07:52.an were to be believed. Thankfully for my job at least, it is far from

:07:53. > :07:56.straightforward. Even after today, a dry day, weather is on the turn in

:07:57. > :08:00.Northern Ireland and Scotland. Around western coastal hills of

:08:01. > :08:05.England and Wales turning misty with light rain and drizzle. For most a

:08:06. > :08:09.dry night with clear skies. Temperatures a degree or so down on

:08:10. > :08:12.last night. A warm start to Wednesday. Early risers in Northern

:08:13. > :08:17.Ireland may get wet but turning brighter here with one or two heavy

:08:18. > :08:21.showers. Rain spreading across Scotland through the morning, hit

:08:22. > :08:27.and mist. A dry and bright start for many in England and Wales. Low cloud

:08:28. > :08:28.in the Midlands. This will thicken during the second half of the day
