:00:07. > :00:08.Good evening. Wilson, BBC News at Wembley.

:00:09. > :00:10.President Obama has flown into RAF Fairford in the Cotswolds

:00:11. > :00:16.The President is here for the NATO summit in South Wales.

:00:17. > :00:19.Andrew Plant watched the President's arrival at the airbase

:00:20. > :00:32.It was just before 6:45pm this evening that we heard the roar of

:00:33. > :00:36.Air Force One's engines in the skies above RAF Fairford, and then it came

:00:37. > :00:39.into view and did a huge loop of the skies here to line up for its

:00:40. > :00:43.landing, giving everyone who gathered here to take photos a good

:00:44. > :00:47.opportunity to get some pictures, and then we saw it coming into

:00:48. > :00:53.land, this huge, imposing our clap, touching down here with President

:00:54. > :00:56.Obama on board on the tarmac at RAF Fairford. He was only down for ten

:00:57. > :00:58.or 15 minutes or so before he was off again in an aircraft,

:00:59. > :01:06.accompanied by several more helicopters and some Osprey aircraft

:01:07. > :01:09.to, in the direction of Celtic Manor in Wales, the imposing hotel you see

:01:10. > :01:13.towering above you as you enter Wales towards Cardiff and Newport.

:01:14. > :01:16.And there, of course, all the otherworldly does as well, Angela

:01:17. > :01:20.Merkel, David Cameron, 60 world leaders that for the summit, and

:01:21. > :01:22.hundreds of delegates as well. It will be the biggest gathering of

:01:23. > :01:24.world leaders ever to take place in Great Britain.

:01:25. > :01:27.Two national motoring organisation say no more 20 mile per hour zones

:01:28. > :01:28.should be introduced until further research

:01:29. > :01:29.is carried out into their effectiveness.

:01:30. > :01:33.and The Institute of Advanced Motorists

:01:34. > :01:36.say they're not convinced speed restrictions alone

:01:37. > :01:40.improve road safety. Tom Turrell has the details.

:01:41. > :01:46.In 2009, 20mph speeding zones were widely introduced across Oxford.

:01:47. > :01:48.They were rolled out after calls from campaigners

:01:49. > :01:52.Now, though, the Alliance of British Drivers

:01:53. > :01:55.and the Institute of Advanced Motorists both say they don't want

:01:56. > :02:02.to see any more introduced without certain conditions.

:02:03. > :02:10.They are put into the right place, and they are clearly signed, and

:02:11. > :02:14.they are supported by sort of strict furniture, `` street furniture which

:02:15. > :02:16.emphasises what they are. That advice isn't being followed

:02:17. > :02:18.in Buckinghamshire, where three trials are running without traffic

:02:19. > :02:27.calming measures, just like Most people here seem to be driving

:02:28. > :02:33.more quickly than 20 mph. It is supposed to be a 20 zone, because of

:02:34. > :02:38.the nature of this area, but traffic is faster than that. They may

:02:39. > :02:41.subconsciously see 20, but still do 30. I have seen people step out,

:02:42. > :02:44.look one nearly get run over. But Oxfordshire County Council says

:02:45. > :02:46.overall, the slow speed limits work. It says before 2009, there were

:02:47. > :02:49.an average of 183 accidents After the speed limit was reduced

:02:50. > :02:54.to 20, the average fell to 141. That's a reduction in accidents

:02:55. > :03:06.of almost a quarter. If you are going at 20, you're

:03:07. > :03:10.stopping distance is half what it is at 30 miles an hour. That gives you

:03:11. > :03:12.a much greater chance of seeing and reacting to any emergency, and

:03:13. > :03:14.avoiding a crash. The government's carrying out

:03:15. > :03:16.a three`year study into 20mph zones, music to the ears of those

:03:17. > :03:20.on both sides of the argument. Eight men have been charged

:03:21. > :03:22.with sexual offences in connection with raids carried out

:03:23. > :03:25.in Aylesbury yesterday. The raids involved

:03:26. > :03:28.more than 100 officers. The men charged are facing

:03:29. > :03:31.a range of offences including rape, sexual activity with a child

:03:32. > :03:36.and child prostitution. Unwanted supermarket food is being

:03:37. > :03:39.used to help people in need The South Oxfordshire Food

:03:40. > :03:44.and Education Alliance delivers produce that would otherwise have

:03:45. > :03:48.gone to landfill to charities. But the alliance also has another

:03:49. > :03:53.purpose ` helping young people Helping others and helping

:03:54. > :03:56.themselves at the same time. Instead,

:03:57. > :04:11.it's been diverted to this warehouse The idea is there is quite a lot of

:04:12. > :04:14.food that comes to the supermarket distribution centres that is

:04:15. > :04:18.oversupplied and access to requirements, and rather than throw

:04:19. > :04:23.it away, they deliver it here to us, and we take it in bulk, as you can

:04:24. > :04:25.see, break that broke up and supply that food out to local charities who

:04:26. > :04:27.cook for their clients. This scheme follows

:04:28. > :04:29.a highly successful one set up by a Didcot man in Australia.

:04:30. > :04:32.Now he's brought it to the UK. These young people,

:04:33. > :04:34.many who struggled at school, are getting training,

:04:35. > :04:36.qualifications and a foothold The scheme is on the lookout

:04:37. > :04:44.for new charities and employees. Its aim is to deliver tonnes of

:04:45. > :04:47.fresh food to help more than 20,000 It also wants to offer employment

:04:48. > :04:54.to around 150 people, many with disabilities,

:04:55. > :05:02.and give them a fresh start too. The country's first 'space school'

:05:03. > :05:06.has opened in Banbury, All the lessons they have will be

:05:07. > :05:24.connected to space in some way. You used to need a rocket to explore

:05:25. > :05:28.space, but now in Banbury, you just need a classroom. Every lesson at

:05:29. > :05:31.the town's newest school will be taught through space`based projects.

:05:32. > :05:36.It is something that not many people get to experience. I love learning

:05:37. > :05:41.about new things, especially things that no one else has learnt about.

:05:42. > :05:44.Be schoolday mirrors that of a workplace.

:05:45. > :05:48.8:30am till five, with no set breaks and not own work. It is because it

:05:49. > :05:50.is a studio School, designed to make students more attractive to

:05:51. > :05:54.employers. Studio schools were set up by the

:05:55. > :05:59.Coalition Government, and 37 have opened since 2010. Oxfordshire is

:06:00. > :06:03.set to get a second one as well. It is being planned for by sister, and

:06:04. > :06:07.will centre on technology. People start here at 14.

:06:08. > :06:11.Critics have said studio schools are pushing students in one direction

:06:12. > :06:15.too early. But the principle here believes his pupils will be well

:06:16. > :06:20.equipped for the future. The vision is, one third will go to

:06:21. > :06:23.university, one third will go into apprenticeships, high`level ones.

:06:24. > :06:29.Satellites have to be built, engines have to be built, physically, and

:06:30. > :06:33.there is the requirement for a skill set. And maybe one third will start

:06:34. > :06:36.their own businesses. The school expects to have 300 pupils within

:06:37. > :06:38.three years, and maybe the teenager starting today will be the space

:06:39. > :06:39.pioneers of tomorrow. Alexis is coming up with

:06:40. > :06:42.the weather forecast. We're back in BBC Breakfast.

:06:43. > :06:54.Goodnight. Canoodling. Clear skies initially

:06:55. > :06:57.overnight tonight, but we will see increasing cloud, and that will mean

:06:58. > :07:01.there may be some hilltop mist and fog will stop before the fog

:07:02. > :07:05.arrives, some river valley fog as well, cabbages falling around 13

:07:06. > :07:09.Celsius. These are the temperatures in our towns and cities, slightly

:07:10. > :07:14.lower in the countryside. It cloudy start for most tomorrow morning, but

:07:15. > :07:19.the picture the day. The cloud thins and brakes, allowing for sunny

:07:20. > :07:23.spells, brightness and places, and a lovely high of 21 Celsius. To riches

:07:24. > :07:26.slightly above the seasonal average. For the rest of the week, there will

:07:27. > :07:30.be a fair amount of cloud here and there. Bright and sunny spells to be

:07:31. > :07:31.had. A misty, murky start to the day on Friday. Some sunshine on

:07:32. > :07:41.Saturday. temperatures will get. We cannot

:07:42. > :07:46.promise sunny skies for the weekend. Quite a nice day for many of us.

:07:47. > :07:50.Good evening. Some sunshine around to end the day in the south and

:07:51. > :07:55.south-east of the country. Tomorrow, another fine day. By fine I mean

:07:56. > :07:59.skies looking something like this. I suspect there will be a little bit

:08:00. > :08:04.of cloud at some point in the day. The weather is very settled. An

:08:05. > :08:06.enormous area of high pressure stretching from Russia across

:08:07. > :08:11.Central Europe and into our neighbourhood here. This is a

:08:12. > :08:14.satellite picture from today you can see sunny skies across parts of East

:08:15. > :08:17.Anglia and the Sabbath. More cloud the further north you are. Even here

:08:18. > :08:19.the skies have broken
