:00:31. > :00:33.And later on, all the goals from the weekend's football plus a triumphant

:00:34. > :00:50.Detectives investigating thd murder of a Buckinghamshire business woman

:00:51. > :00:53.have started a new search for the weapon used to kill her

:01:00. > :01:03.Christopher Symons is serving life in prison for her murddr.

:01:04. > :01:07.Today officers are examining a garden at the house

:01:08. > :01:15.That's why 15 officers are carrying out a fingertip search of a garden

:01:16. > :01:23.They believe the final clues may lie herd in the

:01:24. > :01:28.We are looking for items of her personal effects which are

:01:29. > :01:34.missing which include a handbag a mobile telephone and a di`ry.

:01:35. > :01:37.And also a weapon which we believe was used in that murder

:01:38. > :01:40.Patricia Goodband was 76 when she died in December 2012.

:01:41. > :01:46.Her body was found concealed in a well in the grounds of her home near

:01:47. > :01:52.Christopher Symons, her bushness partner for more than 30 ye`rs,

:01:53. > :01:55.was convicted of her murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.

:01:56. > :02:02.It's believed he was after her considerable financial estate.

:02:03. > :02:05.The house being searched is that of Robert Taft, a friend of Christopher

:02:06. > :02:07.Symons who, during the Patrhcia Goodband murder trial, was convicted

:02:08. > :02:10.of perverting the course of justice and jailed for 10 months.

:02:11. > :02:12.Police say that today's operation is down to new information that

:02:13. > :02:22.We had information that suggested that items of property may be

:02:23. > :02:25.at this address, we are acthng on that information and carrying out

:02:26. > :02:28.the search, so whilst the mtrder investigation is concluded, these

:02:29. > :02:30.items that are missing, it hs important that we locate thdse.

:02:31. > :02:34.His house was searched as p`rt of the original investigation

:02:35. > :02:40.Now officers could take up to three days to see if

:02:41. > :02:49.the answers to what exactly happened to Patricia Goodband lie here.

:02:50. > :02:51.Thousands of rail passengers have facdd a day

:02:52. > :02:54.of disruption following an hncident this morning at Banbury station

:02:55. > :02:58.Some commuters have spent more than five hours stuck on tr`ins

:02:59. > :03:02.The line through Banbury was closed just before 10 o'clock, affdcting

:03:03. > :03:07.British Transport Police attended the station

:03:08. > :03:13.A spokesman said he came down at around 2pm.

:03:14. > :03:16.Wiltshire's Chief Constable is being investigated by the police watchdog,

:03:17. > :03:18.following complaints about the way the force handled

:03:19. > :03:26.It is claimed Patrick Geentx kept back information and misled members

:03:27. > :03:33.of the public, and relates to an inquiry from 2008.

:03:34. > :03:39.The actions of an inspector and Detective Constable are being

:03:40. > :03:40.examined. He said he is shocked at the allegations and welcomes an

:03:41. > :03:42.investigation. A man ` arrested following the death

:03:43. > :03:45.of a schoolgirl in Witney ` Liberty Baker, who was 14,

:03:46. > :03:48.died after a car mounted the kerb in Curbridge Road

:03:49. > :03:51.in the town and collided with The 18`year`old from Bampton was

:03:52. > :03:55.arrested on suspicion of catsing He's due to answer bail

:03:56. > :04:02.on the 8th of November. Those in charge

:04:03. > :04:03.of protecting vulnerable chhldren in Buckinghamshire say therd's

:04:04. > :04:05.a shortage of foster carers prepared to look

:04:06. > :04:08.after more than one child from The County Council says

:04:09. > :04:14.the problem's so bad it is having to split up brothers

:04:15. > :04:20.and sisters or take them out The decision to foster

:04:21. > :04:25.a child shouldn't be taken lightly. But for Christine it has bedn part

:04:26. > :04:29.of her life for the last 15 years. In that time she's looked after more

:04:30. > :04:33.than 150 children for anythhng At the moment she's caring for three

:04:34. > :04:41.` two sisters and their brother It can be heartbreaking

:04:42. > :04:46.when they leave, but when they come they are not staying, so yot have to

:04:47. > :04:50.build yourself against that. But yes, it is very rewarding,

:04:51. > :04:54.watching them be happy, plaxing Because they are treated as part

:04:55. > :04:59.of our family and while thex are But in Buckinghamshire therd's

:05:00. > :05:06.a shortage of people, like Christine, prepared to look after

:05:07. > :05:10.children from the same family. It means many siblings kept

:05:11. > :05:13.together have to be found a In all,

:05:14. > :05:17.there are only 53 foster carers willing to look after children from

:05:18. > :05:21.the same family in Buckingh`mshire. It means around a third of `ll

:05:22. > :05:28.siblings are being separated. One concern is that the mondy paid

:05:29. > :05:31.to foster carers by the council for It's something those

:05:32. > :05:40.in charge say is under revidw. Allowances possibly haven't kept

:05:41. > :05:42.up with inflation in recent years. So what we are working on at the

:05:43. > :05:50.moment is a new and improved package of allowances for all of our foster

:05:51. > :05:55.carers to make sure that we can attract foster carers and that they

:05:56. > :06:05.are properly rewarded for doing it. The problem isn't one which only

:06:06. > :06:07.affects Buckinghamshire, but it is Tom, you touched on it

:06:08. > :06:16.in your report, but part of the problem causing the shortage in

:06:17. > :06:19.foster carers seems to be ftnding. One explanation why there's

:06:20. > :06:21.a shortage of carers coming forward is because

:06:22. > :06:29.people aren't paid enough to do it. Most people do it out of love for

:06:30. > :06:35.the children. But if the money doesn't cover

:06:36. > :06:38.the basic costs of looking `fter So for example, Buckinghamshire

:06:39. > :06:42.County Council pay foster c`rers just under ?170 per week if that

:06:43. > :06:45.person looks after a child `ged 4 or younger, but some argue with all the

:06:46. > :06:50.costs of nappies, food and heating a house during the day

:06:51. > :06:59.the money isn't enough. Ironically, if the council doesn't find a foster

:07:00. > :07:02.carer themselves, then they may end up paying an agency sometimds

:07:03. > :07:05.double that weekly amount. Police in Buckinghamshire are trying

:07:06. > :07:09.to trace a prisoner ` 43`year`old Michael Rothery was last

:07:10. > :07:13.seen at the jail in Grendon Underwood

:07:14. > :07:15.in the early hours of this lorning. He's described as white,

:07:16. > :07:18.5 foot 9 and bald. He may have been wearing

:07:19. > :07:21.a green jacket. A fire at a recycling plant

:07:22. > :07:24.in Swindon has finally been put out Crews from the Wiltshire Fire

:07:25. > :07:34.and Rescue Service have been working at the Averies site

:07:35. > :07:35.since the blaze started. Thousands of litres

:07:36. > :07:38.of water were needed to get It's understood the owners lay now

:07:39. > :07:41.face action over breaching It's thought to be the oldest

:07:42. > :07:46.of its kind ` now Helen House ` the hospice for children with life

:07:47. > :07:48.limiting conditions ` More than a million pounds has been

:07:49. > :07:54.spent on the home ` and it's been officially reopened

:07:55. > :07:56.by the actor Tom Hollander. Katharine DaCosta has spent

:07:57. > :07:59.the day there. It is light and bright

:08:00. > :08:04.and there is plenty of room This is the first major reftrb

:08:05. > :08:09.here in more than 30 years. I am joined

:08:10. > :08:11.by the manager who is also ` nurse here, what are some of the big

:08:12. > :08:14.changes that are happening here Principally we have opened tp

:08:15. > :08:17.the space, we have lots of room for whdelchair

:08:18. > :08:22.games, as you can see behind you. And for us to be able to brhng beds

:08:23. > :08:27.down into this area with chhldren who maybe are not mobile

:08:28. > :08:30.but they can really enjoy Due to advances in medical

:08:31. > :08:36.technology in particular, children are living longer, living lhves that

:08:37. > :08:39.perhaps need to be supported by increased technology, such as

:08:40. > :08:46.ventilators, oxygen as a rottine. And we have had to adapt

:08:47. > :08:48.to those needs as well. If we walk over here to the art area

:08:49. > :08:55.we have got actor Tom Hollander Tom, you have supported the charity

:08:56. > :09:00.for a long time, haven't yot? It is light and open and yot can see

:09:01. > :09:12.the garden everywhere Louise, what difference

:09:13. > :09:23.will it make for families? I think there is more space, so the

:09:24. > :09:28.kids can interact together lore The sensory room is great,

:09:29. > :09:32.we have been in there today. With more space, more things can be

:09:33. > :09:36.done with the children, 12 families have been invitdd

:09:37. > :09:43.down for the lunch today. They are getting a chance to look

:09:44. > :09:51.around and enjoy the new facilities. Thank you. A goal from a new home

:09:52. > :09:55.town hero on way in the sport. I'll have the headlines at 8

:09:56. > :10:09.and a full bulletin at 10.24. Still to come in this evening's

:10:10. > :10:12.South Today ` a triumphant dnd to a We speak to Saints' Francis Benali

:10:13. > :10:18.after his home run. The mother of an autistic boy says

:10:19. > :10:21.she's lost her job because of cuts to a school bus service in

:10:22. > :10:25.Berkshire. Tracey Kerrison's teenage son Niall has severe learning

:10:26. > :10:27.difficulties and a mental age of five. He's one of 12 students in the

:10:28. > :10:31.Woodley area who are no longer picked up from their home. @s a

:10:32. > :10:34.result she has abandoned thd school bus altogether, and now drives her

:10:35. > :10:51.son to school. Ben Moore reports. A new term and a new routind. For

:10:52. > :10:55.over a decade, this boy got a lift to school from his front door but

:10:56. > :11:01.now he will have to walk half a mile to catch a bus. He can physhcally

:11:02. > :11:05.walk but not on his own. He must be accompanied. He is always w`ndering

:11:06. > :11:12.off. He has no road safety awareness. He has no strangdr danger

:11:13. > :11:18.awareness. He will just run if he sees something he doesn't lhke. The

:11:19. > :11:25.council brought a bus to take them and classmates to a special school.

:11:26. > :11:30.It is not done on cost but this is about teenagers who we would like to

:11:31. > :11:34.help in line with national policy to promote them becoming more

:11:35. > :11:39.independent and learning skhlls about travelling independently.

:11:40. > :11:45.Tracing now drives her son to school every day but says it has mdant a

:11:46. > :11:49.huge sacrifice. I have lost my job because with the new timetables I

:11:50. > :11:56.can't get into work any mord. I have been laid off from my job and am

:11:57. > :12:01.having to claim benefits, b`sically to stay at home and do the school

:12:02. > :12:06.a concern for any council. Hidden a concern for any council. Hidden

:12:07. > :12:12.disabilities should not be overlooked. It is important that

:12:13. > :12:15.people think about autism and don't just assume that because solebody is

:12:16. > :12:20.physically able to carry out a journey that they are actually able.

:12:21. > :12:25.It is not just about whether you can walk. It is about whether you can

:12:26. > :12:29.manage without support. Tracy says she has no choice but to be a

:12:30. > :12:41.full`time carer. Uncertaintx brought by a new bus timetable.

:12:42. > :12:54.The man has been cleared of causing death by dangerous driving. The tide

:12:55. > :13:02.after the car hit a tree last July. The court heard they had bedn racing

:13:03. > :13:07.a car driven by the accused. The man was found guilty of a lesser charge

:13:08. > :13:08.of dangerous driving and fined 250 and banned from driving for 12

:13:09. > :13:09.months. The results of a survey comlissioned

:13:10. > :13:13.for BBC Inside Out reveal why the majority of British workers don t

:13:14. > :13:15.have a pension. While the government's auto enrolment scheme

:13:16. > :13:17.is making it compulsory for companies to offer staff a pension,

:13:18. > :13:39.most of us are not signing tp. Who has got a pension? OK... Who

:13:40. > :13:44.does not have a pension? Whx not? Saving up for a pension just is not

:13:45. > :13:48.feasible at the moment. This man earns ?500 a month and cannot afford

:13:49. > :13:53.to save retirement. Pension specialists think it might be a

:13:54. > :13:55.problem. Younger people will know that when they get to retirdment,

:13:56. > :14:01.the state pension is going to be around ?20 per day. Unless xou do

:14:02. > :14:16.some saving now, you would have the right thing by investing in a

:14:17. > :14:20.buy`to`let instead of a pension My property will be let out to

:14:21. > :14:25.students. There is a high student population here. It is right in the

:14:26. > :14:30.centre of town so it is a whcked location so it will always rent

:14:31. > :14:31.There is clearly more than one way to manage your pension. Just don't

:14:32. > :14:33.miss the bus. And you can see Jon's full report on

:14:34. > :14:39.Inside Out at 7:30pm on BBC One New trains. More services. Faster

:14:40. > :14:43.journeys. All are promised with the start of a new rail franchise

:14:44. > :17:01.covering much of southern England for delays in finishing the project.

:17:02. > :17:17.Nikki Mitchell reports. This seemed to car park is dxpected

:17:18. > :17:22.to be filled with visitors when the mill opens to the public next month.

:17:23. > :17:33.Some of Bombay Sapphire's ndighbours have had enough. It is the noise.

:17:34. > :17:37.They have been working 20 47. It has meant a really bad disruption. They

:17:38. > :17:43.have a late`night licence. We were woken by the cleaners at 3al,

:17:44. > :17:51.shouting in the street. Thex have sold us a dream. They've delivered a

:17:52. > :17:57.nightmare. The consensus among people living here is that noise at

:17:58. > :18:03.night time has intensified. Bombay Sapphire has told us it is `dhering

:18:04. > :18:07.to all construction limitathons and the work at night is planting and

:18:08. > :18:12.cleaning, operational work which falls within planning permissions.

:18:13. > :18:17.We have made sure we have done noise monitoring and are signific`ntly

:18:18. > :18:20.within the World Health Org`nisation guidelines. However, all colplaints

:18:21. > :18:26.and concerns from neighbours are important to us and we will not rest

:18:27. > :18:33.until we are satisfied that everyone has had their concerns lookdd into.

:18:34. > :18:37.Turning this into ageing distillery has been a complex process. Some

:18:38. > :18:43.people here believe the destruction is worth it. No Mac it is nhce to

:18:44. > :18:49.see someone doing work and ht will put this place on the map. The

:18:50. > :18:53.council says it has investigated complaints linked to constrtction

:18:54. > :18:54.work and noise, with one ongoing. So far, any problems have been

:18:55. > :18:59.addressed. Onto sport, what a win for Saint!

:19:00. > :19:09.Yes. An important win. Striker Graziano Pelle scordd twice

:19:10. > :19:12.as Southampton moved into the top 4 at St Mary's. The Italian's first

:19:13. > :19:15.came after just 6 minutes, heading home Ryan Bertrand's cross. His

:19:16. > :19:17.second was a little more fortunate after his shot`come`pass fell to

:19:18. > :19:20.Dusan Tadic... Jack Cork made it 3 in the second half... beford Morgan

:19:21. > :19:23.Schneiderlin provided the pdrfect finish to a 41 pass move ` curling

:19:24. > :19:32.in this superb late fourth. A good win for Saints, here's a

:19:33. > :19:35.roundup of the weekend's other Five goals on the road

:19:36. > :19:41.and a fifth straight game unbeaten. The MK Dons have their eyes firmly

:19:42. > :19:43.on automatic promotion after Afobe and Carruthers put thd

:19:44. > :19:50.visitors two up before half time. And after the break it just got

:19:51. > :19:53.better. The Tykes were torn apart, @lli

:19:54. > :19:56.Grigg and Ben Reeves all netting Ferocious firepower which h`s now

:19:57. > :20:03.produced 21 goals this season. Barnsley did battle back with some

:20:04. > :20:06.impressive sharpshooting of their own, but it was too lhttle too

:20:07. > :20:10.late and MK Dons move up to third. Swindon Town have also kept up with

:20:11. > :20:14.the promotion pacesetters whth a win at Bradford which maintains

:20:15. > :20:18.their place in the play`offs. After the keeper had saved

:20:19. > :20:20.a penalty, an own goal from Louis Thompson put

:20:21. > :20:24.Town one down but a double from debutant Obika ensured Swindon left

:20:25. > :20:30.the stadium with all three points. Oxford United are still waiting

:20:31. > :20:32.for their first victory of the season, but they took

:20:33. > :20:36.a share of the spoils at Exdter George Long conceded a penalty which

:20:37. > :20:41.Graham Cummings tucked home, and Callum O'Dowda was rewarded for a

:20:42. > :20:44.lung`busting run with the epualiser, their FA Cup first qualifying round

:20:45. > :21:01.last week...They beat Longwdll Green from Bristol, 1`0 ` Michael Turvey

:21:02. > :21:04.with the goal and will now host Cricket now ` and Hampshire can all

:21:05. > :21:08.but secure promotion back to Division One with a victory over

:21:09. > :21:12.Kent at the Ageas Bowl. On Day One, Kent won the toss and deciddd to bat

:21:13. > :21:15.` at one stage Hampshire had them at 86 for 3. But the runs started to

:21:16. > :21:19.flow in the afternoon and Kdnt resume tomorrow. Meanwhile, Surrey

:21:20. > :21:38.were bowled out for 181 agahnst A short while ago, the visitors were

:21:39. > :21:40.155`5. In division one, Sussex reached 358`9 at Nottinghamshire.

:21:41. > :21:43.Now, perhaps the defining ilage of this weekend's sport was former

:21:44. > :21:45.Southampton footballer Francis Benali completing his epic charity

:21:46. > :21:49.run. He ran 1000 miles betwden all 20 Premier League grounds. @nd has

:21:50. > :21:53.so far raised more than ?120,00 for Cancer Research UK. Franny was given

:21:54. > :21:56.a hero's welcome at St Mary's Stadium on Saturday, finishhng with

:21:57. > :21:59.an emotional lap of honour. I'm delighted to say he joins us in the

:22:00. > :22:10.studio along with his physio, Kelly Rutledge.

:22:11. > :22:17.You must be relieved just to sit down. Very much so. It is nhce not

:22:18. > :22:24.to have to go out and run any distance. Have you had a ch`nce to

:22:25. > :22:29.reflect on what you achieved? It is still early days. Over the coming

:22:30. > :22:38.days, there will be that reflective time. The welcome back to St Mary's

:22:39. > :22:42.was something I will never forget. You're expecting it to be tough but

:22:43. > :22:50.was it harder than you barg`ined for? Yes. To be honest, it was,

:22:51. > :22:55.Laura. It was physically delanding and I wanted to test myself in that

:22:56. > :23:00.kind of environment with an extreme challenge. There were tough moments.

:23:01. > :23:08.I had to dig deep. With Kelly and my family on the road with me, they

:23:09. > :23:14.kept me going. You can see the conditions they look bleak. Kelly,

:23:15. > :23:21.it was your job to patch hil up and roll him back out for the ndxt day.

:23:22. > :23:25.How was the impact on his body? We were getting him up about one and a

:23:26. > :23:30.half hours before he was dud to start. We would finish late at

:23:31. > :23:36.night. It was just a case of keeping the muscles moving, keeping the feat

:23:37. > :23:42.in a condition to run in. Blisters! Yes. Just me each his energx levels

:23:43. > :23:48.were up to running that sort of distance. We would go from the early

:23:49. > :23:52.hours of the morning to the late evening. And that is a ment`l

:23:53. > :23:58.challenge as well as a physhcal one. How did you do it every day in such

:23:59. > :24:04.bleak conditions? I had a ntmber of people joining the on the road. It

:24:05. > :24:11.helped having company. Therd were times when I had to just go into a
