:00:07. > :00:09.Welcome to BBC Points West with David Garmston and Sarah Jane

:00:10. > :00:12.Bungay. Our main story tonight: A warning

:00:13. > :00:16.over Christmas debt. Last`minute shoppers set the tills ringing ` but

:00:17. > :00:23.how many will avoid maxing out the credit card? I don't do credit at

:00:24. > :00:29.all. I don't even own a credit card, so this is all out of my

:00:30. > :00:39.wages. The other stories making the news

:00:40. > :00:42.tonight: The cruellest of burglaries ` this woman's home is broken into

:00:43. > :00:45.and the thieves set fire to every room.

:00:46. > :00:48.Now it's first class passengers feeling the squeeze. Hundreds of

:00:49. > :00:51.their seats are to be removed to make room for more economy

:00:52. > :00:54.travellers on busy trains. And as the deadline for first class

:00:55. > :01:01.post passes, we'll be hearing from the Royal Mail choir!

:01:02. > :01:05.Good evening. It's the last big shopping weekend before Christmas,

:01:06. > :01:10.and businesses are hoping that people will be spending like there's

:01:11. > :01:13.no tomorrow. But with most people's incomes

:01:14. > :01:17.outstripped by rising prices, there are warnings that thousands of us

:01:18. > :01:20.could be getting into debt. So are people turning to the never never to

:01:21. > :01:28.make ends meet, or holding back Scott Ellis reports.

:01:29. > :01:33.It has been quiet on the high street recently, perhaps because of record

:01:34. > :01:38.online sales. The hope is this weekend will be the busiest of the

:01:39. > :01:42.year. People are leaving it till the end. I think they have done their

:01:43. > :01:46.online retail shopping already, but for the high street, they will come

:01:47. > :01:51.in white at the last minute and see what discounts they can get. The TUC

:01:52. > :01:55.is worried that this will be a Christmas on credit for many,

:01:56. > :02:02.predict think the average debt for an adult at ?685, taking the average

:02:03. > :02:10.family 24 weeks to pay off. Here at the Brunel shopping centre in

:02:11. > :02:14.Swindon, there are signs of thrift. We save what we have, and put it

:02:15. > :02:23.towards Christmas at the end of the year. Some of it will go on credit,

:02:24. > :02:27.about 50`50. As a family, we've decided to spend a lot less than we

:02:28. > :02:30.did previously, and spend more time thinking about the presence and

:02:31. > :02:35.thinking what somebody would actually want, rather than just

:02:36. > :02:41.rushing madly to the shops. Those behind the tills may be tempted to

:02:42. > :02:47.cut prices this weekend, because for shops without Internet access, this

:02:48. > :02:51.was `` November was a flat month. Easter next year is late April, so

:02:52. > :02:55.there's a long time between now and then. They need to take some money

:02:56. > :03:01.to sustain their businesses over the next few months. Nationally, the

:03:02. > :03:08.rate at which shops close has slowed, but still started at 18 day

:03:09. > :03:12.at the start of 2013. It has been another tough year. The bigger

:03:13. > :03:18.stores has a bit of `` have a bit of a buffer. Particularly for those who

:03:19. > :03:22.work in the markets and the small stores around Bristol, the buck

:03:23. > :03:27.stops with them. If the money runs out, that's the end of it. It is

:03:28. > :03:32.generally agreed that consumer confidence is growing, and if you

:03:33. > :03:35.are heading out tomorrow for some on budget Christmas shopping, beware.

:03:36. > :03:49.The media has already dubbed it Panic Saturday.

:03:50. > :03:53.A Bristol woman is facing Christmas away from her home after it was

:03:54. > :03:55.completely gutted in an arson attack. 64`year`old Elizabeth McAfee

:03:56. > :03:59.was visiting relatives when somebody broke in to her home, set it on

:04:00. > :04:06.fire, and destroyed all her precious belongings. Sabet Choudhury reports.

:04:07. > :04:10.A well, this is the room that we think

:04:11. > :04:13.they came through. It's difficult to kind of believe this level of

:04:14. > :04:16.destruction, and how things that were so solid have just disappeared.

:04:17. > :04:19.34 years of memories went up in flames. Last Saturday, while

:04:20. > :04:22.visiting her sick mother, Elizabeth McAfee's home was ransacked and set

:04:23. > :04:26.alight. It feels like a bereavement. I mean, it feels like everything,

:04:27. > :04:31.all the work and the painting and sort of making things and thinking

:04:32. > :04:34.things through, has just gone. The stench of smoke and charred walls is

:04:35. > :04:39.all that's left in some of the rooms. The damage so bad that it may

:04:40. > :04:43.take over six months before Elizabeth can come back home. The

:04:44. > :04:47.police are saying it's probably not targeted at me, and I can't think

:04:48. > :04:51.that it would be, but I imagine the intention was for the house to be

:04:52. > :04:57.gutted. I'm beginning to feel angry, and I'm determined that whoever did

:04:58. > :05:00.this isn't going to get me down Although very little was taken, but

:05:01. > :05:06.the fire has destroyed decades`old family heirlooms, paintings and

:05:07. > :05:10.photos. I find it really difficult to picture who would have done this.

:05:11. > :05:15.But whoever, you know, whether it was one person or group of people...

:05:16. > :05:26.I just think, what sad lives to get a kick out of doing something this

:05:27. > :05:29.destructive. Just get a life. The police say they're investigation

:05:30. > :05:33.the attack and are asking for witnesses. But for Elizabeth, it's

:05:34. > :05:36.now a matter of picking up the pieces and starting again, hoping to

:05:37. > :05:49.forget a Christmas that's memorable for all the wrong reasons.

:05:50. > :05:53.A police Community Support Officer is to appear in court to be charged

:05:54. > :05:56.with common assault over an alleged attack on a boy at a Bristol Leisure

:05:57. > :05:59.Centre. 31`year`old Nicholas Peace is alleged to have assaulted a

:06:00. > :06:02.15`year`old at Downend Sports Centre in June earlier this year. The

:06:03. > :06:04.charge follows a police investigation into a complaint by

:06:05. > :06:07.the boy's family. Two men and a woman have been

:06:08. > :06:11.remanded in custody following an inquiry into sexual exploitation in

:06:12. > :06:13.Yeovil. 27`year`old Jon Smillie Luke Fuller, who's 24, and

:06:14. > :06:15.20`year`old Eleanor Dollery have been charged with various counts,

:06:16. > :06:23.including rape and trafficking offences. All three are from Yeovil.

:06:24. > :06:26.The charges follow police raids on businesses and residential

:06:27. > :06:29.properties in the area earlier in the week.

:06:30. > :06:34.Four people have been charged after a man from Gloucestershire died on a

:06:35. > :06:37.night out in Manchester. 30`year`old Nick Bonnie collapsed in September

:06:38. > :06:44.after taking what's thought to be a contaminated ecstasy tablet at a

:06:45. > :06:46.nightclub. The four men, all from Gloucestershire, are charged with

:06:47. > :06:52.various counts of perverting the course of justice, and possession

:06:53. > :06:55.and supply of class A drugs. You're watching BBC Points West with

:06:56. > :07:01.David and Sarah`Jane, on the last Friday before Christmas. We'll have

:07:02. > :07:05.a full forecast shortly. And Ian ` it's looking like Santa and the

:07:06. > :07:10.reindeer could be in for a bit of a bumpy ride, isn't it? I think the

:07:11. > :07:16.fasten seat belt sites will be on on his flight! This chart can only mean

:07:17. > :07:23.one thing from Monday into Christmas Eve ` stormy.

:07:24. > :07:27.The Mayor of Swindon escaped a revolt in his own council chamber

:07:28. > :07:29.last night after allegedly making derogatory remarks about adults with

:07:30. > :07:33.disabilities. Councillor Nick Martin says he can't remember whether he

:07:34. > :07:36.made the remarks about people with Downs Syndrome or not. Opposition

:07:37. > :07:38.members tabled a vote of no confidence, but councillors instead

:07:39. > :07:43.decided to postpone the vote, until an investigation has been carried

:07:44. > :07:46.out. The swing bridge in Bristol's

:07:47. > :07:50.floating harbour will remain shut to larger boats until after Christmas

:07:51. > :07:55.at the earliest. The Plimsoll Bridge was stuck open earlier this week,

:07:56. > :08:01.causing traffic chaos. It had to be cranked into place by hand, but is

:08:02. > :08:04.now stuck closed. It means traffic can flow freely, but larger boats

:08:05. > :08:07.have been advised by the harbour master to avoid the area. Engineers

:08:08. > :08:13.have spent the day assessing the damage to the bridge motor.

:08:14. > :08:16.Bristol City Council has raised more than ?11 million through parking

:08:17. > :08:20.fines in the last six years, according to figures seen by the

:08:21. > :08:26.BBC. Revenue from tickets has more than trebled, to ?2.8 million in the

:08:27. > :08:29.12 months to April. By law, all the cash raised should go back into

:08:30. > :08:32.transport`related items, such as filling pot holes, park and ride

:08:33. > :08:38.services and subsidising some bus routes.

:08:39. > :08:42.First class passengers are likely to have less room on busy trains soon,

:08:43. > :08:48.as their seats are being taken away for people travelling economy. For

:08:49. > :08:51.years, second class passengers have been left standing while first class

:08:52. > :08:54.seats have been empty. Now First Great Western wants to make the

:08:55. > :08:57.system fairer. Here's Robin Markwell.

:08:58. > :09:01.Even during the morning rush, First Class passengers are hard to find.

:09:02. > :09:06.Back in Standard, and it's often standing room only. Every seat will

:09:07. > :09:10.be taken, and then the aisle will be full and there will be up to ten

:09:11. > :09:13.plus people stood in the hallways as well, by the entrance to the doors.

:09:14. > :09:20.Pretty unpleasant. Quite stuffy hot, full of people, especially on

:09:21. > :09:24.the way home. Just not very nice. And that's a sentiment shared at the

:09:25. > :09:27.front of the train. If you look around you today, most of this

:09:28. > :09:31.carriage is entirely empty. I've been on it since Didcot, and it is

:09:32. > :09:38.just empty all the way through, whereas Standard is heaving. Even on

:09:39. > :09:43.the busiest of trains, these luxurious leather first`class seats

:09:44. > :09:48.are only ever two thirds full, and that is why First Great Western is

:09:49. > :09:51.thinking of ditching one of these carriages in favour of the standard

:09:52. > :09:56.class carriage, which has almost double the number of seats. If we

:09:57. > :10:00.look at removing some of that first`class provision at the

:10:01. > :10:05.moment, on some trains that will increase capacity by 20%, which is

:10:06. > :10:10.significant at a time when passenger numbers continue to rise. We have

:10:11. > :10:15.new trains on the way, but that is some years away yet. We need to do

:10:16. > :10:20.something. First Great Western has then the subject of many protests,

:10:21. > :10:23.with overcrowding a key issue. Campaigners have questioned why this

:10:24. > :10:29.hasn't happened sooner, but welcomed the talks with government. It is a

:10:30. > :10:34.sound business room. More than half the time, first class is empty. It

:10:35. > :10:39.is a very good move for commuters, because it means they will have more

:10:40. > :10:43.capacity on the trains, as an interim measure, until the

:10:44. > :10:47.government puts more into the railways. Investment is coming, in

:10:48. > :10:55.the shape of a ?1 billion electrification of the mainline

:10:56. > :11:01.With passenger numbers due to rise 50% by 2019, First Great Western

:11:02. > :11:04.defined itself playing catch up to ensure everyone who pays affair gets

:11:05. > :11:07.a seat. Now, we don't want to alarm anyone,

:11:08. > :11:11.but if you haven't posted your Christmas cards yet, you might be

:11:12. > :11:14.too late, as today was the deadline for first class. The Royal Mail s

:11:15. > :11:17.brought in hundreds of extra staff to cope with the workload. Jules

:11:18. > :11:27.Hyam is at the sorting centre in Filton now. It looks busy there It

:11:28. > :11:30.is very busy. If you are watching this and you have posted a Christmas

:11:31. > :11:36.card, it will have come through here. They come through Bristol and

:11:37. > :11:42.Bath, and Taunton and Gloucester. These guys are sorting things to get

:11:43. > :11:48.posted tomorrow. Mrs Fields, Merry Christmas! That will come tomorrow.

:11:49. > :11:52.Not everything gets sorted by hand, just things that can't go through

:11:53. > :11:58.the machines. The machines are very fancy. This one has post going up a

:11:59. > :12:03.conveyor belt and then threw a big drum, and the post gets sorted

:12:04. > :12:09.according to size. There is another, with the machine, with a

:12:10. > :12:15.camera that reads postcodes. It makes it a lot easier for that

:12:16. > :12:22.machine to sort out letters and get the letters to the right place. How

:12:23. > :12:26.many letters? Today, this place has seen 5 million different items of

:12:27. > :12:33.homes `` of post. That's quite a lot. They are all getting stuck in,

:12:34. > :12:38.even senior management. Ruth, you have had to get stuck in today!

:12:39. > :12:43.Yes, it is all hands on deck at Christmas. People are working

:12:44. > :12:47.incredibly hard to make sure that letters and parcels are sorted and

:12:48. > :12:53.into homes in time for Christmas. Our postmen and women are working

:12:54. > :12:56.tirelessly to deliver a fantastic Christmas for customers. You have

:12:57. > :13:03.had to take on an extra 500 people to make sure that everything gets to

:13:04. > :13:07.its destination in time for Christmas. We will be back here for

:13:08. > :13:13.a special treat later. They don t just deliver mail, they sing! The

:13:14. > :13:17.Bristol Royal Mail choir will be delivering `` will be performing for

:13:18. > :13:23.us later. Thank you. We are looking forward to

:13:24. > :13:27.that. A family who lost their home in a

:13:28. > :13:30.gas explosion in Cheltenham are just months away from moving back in

:13:31. > :13:34.Their house in Rosehill Street had to be demolished after being badly

:13:35. > :13:39.damaged in the blast in May last year. Building work started earlier

:13:40. > :13:42.this year and the roof has almost been finished. After a devastating

:13:43. > :13:52.18 months they told us they now can't wait to move back home. The

:13:53. > :13:58.builders have worked so hard to get it to this point. They have only

:13:59. > :14:01.been on site at `` eight weeks, so to be able to stand here and see the

:14:02. > :14:04.roof on our house is quite an achievement. It's also expected that

:14:05. > :14:08.work will start next year to rebuild the house at the centre of the

:14:09. > :14:14.explosion. A health and safety investigation never found the cause.

:14:15. > :14:18.A ceremony's been held in Bristol today to remember a man killed in

:14:19. > :14:22.the Lockerbie air disaster. 270 people lost their lives after a

:14:23. > :14:27.jumbo jet was blown up above the small Scottish town 25 years ago

:14:28. > :14:31.tomorrow. Among them, a mother and daughter from Bristol, and an

:14:32. > :14:39.American man who was living in the city. Laura Jones reports.

:14:40. > :14:44.A cold Friday morning in the lead up to Christmas, and they came to

:14:45. > :14:51.remember. To remember a man, an American, who in the 1980s had lived

:14:52. > :14:54.here in Clifton whilst working for a computer software company. Bernard

:14:55. > :14:58.Joseph McLoughlin was just 30, and heading home to the States for

:14:59. > :15:04.Christmas when he died. He isn't forgotten, like all the victims of

:15:05. > :15:11.that tragic accident. It was needed that we come out and light a few

:15:12. > :15:16.candles and lay everything memory of Bernard. Like so many other people

:15:17. > :15:23.around the country, and around the world, who will be remembering their

:15:24. > :15:28.loved ones, who died on December the 21st 1988. It was 25 years ago this

:15:29. > :15:35.weekend that the Pan Am flight exploded in midair. All 259 people

:15:36. > :15:39.on board were killed, as were 1 people on the ground. What happened

:15:40. > :15:44.in the skies above Lockerbie changed thousands of lives, and had

:15:45. > :15:49.repercussions across the world, not least on this street in Bristol

:15:50. > :15:54.where, 25 years ago tonight, a young mother would have been packing,

:15:55. > :16:01.getting ready for her and her baby daughter's trip to America. That

:16:02. > :16:06.lady was Yvonne Owen. Yvonne was also pregnant with her second child.

:16:07. > :16:11.It had been a last`minute decision to go away for Christmas ` one which

:16:12. > :16:17.was to cost them their lives. One man, Libyan Abdelbaset al`Megrahi

:16:18. > :16:21.was convicted for the bombing. He has since died, but there are still

:16:22. > :16:27.questions about whether he acted alone, or indeed, if he really was

:16:28. > :16:31.behind the atrocity at all. Official memorial services will be held in

:16:32. > :16:36.London and Lockerbie tomorrow, and elsewhere, communities across the

:16:37. > :16:46.world touched by the tragedy will remember in their own way.

:16:47. > :16:50.Some sports news now. Bath Rugby's excellent start to the season will

:16:51. > :16:53.get a big test over Christmas. They play three of the country's top

:16:54. > :17:00.sides. Alistair Durden is here with tonight's sport. Why is it going so

:17:01. > :17:06.well? A mixture of things. Good coaching, good young players coming

:17:07. > :17:11.through the academy. They also recruited really well over the last

:17:12. > :17:16.year and a half, snapping up top young players. They are getting

:17:17. > :17:20.better and better. It translates into ten league and cup wins in a

:17:21. > :17:24.row for the first team, but there is progress right through the club

:17:25. > :17:31.which suggests Bath have a bright future ahead of them.

:17:32. > :17:34.The first silverware of the season. This week, Bath's second string won

:17:35. > :17:38.their league. They're part of a winning culture at the club. The

:17:39. > :17:42.senior side are top of their group in both Cup competitions and third

:17:43. > :17:45.in the Premiership table. We have acknowledged from the start of the

:17:46. > :17:50.season that we have more strength and depth. You can see that in the

:17:51. > :17:56.scores in the Premiership side, so it is a nice position to be in.

:17:57. > :18:01.Selection is getting harder. That is a great problem to have. There was

:18:02. > :18:08.much more of a club atmosphere and a team spirit. That is coming through

:18:09. > :18:11.on the pitch. We are building up a team at first and second team levels

:18:12. > :18:17.that look good now, and will be stronger in the future. With such

:18:18. > :18:22.momentum, the director of rugby s exit last week came as a surprise. A

:18:23. > :18:27.disagreement over his role was the reason given by the club, who now

:18:28. > :18:31.want to move on. Of course there has been disruption, and we have had to

:18:32. > :18:35.make disruption `` make adjustments. But we have come

:18:36. > :18:41.through it, and hopefully we will go from strength to strength. This

:18:42. > :18:46.season's success is built around a dominating forward pack, giving the

:18:47. > :18:51.Premiership's player of the month, George Ford, the opportunity to

:18:52. > :18:57.orchestrate the young and talented backs. People keep saying that we

:18:58. > :19:01.have not achieved anything yet. We have had a good run of wins, and

:19:02. > :19:07.that is all it is at the moment We are going to keep working hard and

:19:08. > :19:12.see where we end up. We are a humble squad with no big`time players. Our

:19:13. > :19:17.recruitment has been fantastic. We recruit young kids and put them

:19:18. > :19:20.together. They are like the rat Pack! If you keep that backline

:19:21. > :19:26.together for the next five years, they will be 25, 26, with all that

:19:27. > :19:29.experience of winning and losing together. We have the potential to

:19:30. > :19:36.do something really special for the next ten years. So it is a long`term

:19:37. > :19:39.project, with games against harlequins, Northampton and

:19:40. > :19:51.Leicester, which will give an indication of how fast this group is

:19:52. > :19:55.growing up. On Sunday, Gloucester fry half Freddie Burns will be on

:19:56. > :19:58.the bench for the visit of Worcester. Stand`in captain Billy

:19:59. > :20:06.Twelvetrees will play at ten instead. And in the Championship,

:20:07. > :20:09.Bristol are away to Ealing. Football, and Cheltenham Town are

:20:10. > :20:12.another team who have found some good form. After a slow start,

:20:13. > :20:15.understandable after the disappointment of another playoff

:20:16. > :20:19.defeat back in May. They have started to pick themselves up now.

:20:20. > :20:22.Mark Yates, who's celebrating four years in charge on Sunday, has

:20:23. > :20:26.managed to rebuild this team yet again. They're now unbeaten in their

:20:27. > :20:31.last nine games and only six points off the playoffs. But with plenty of

:20:32. > :20:37.room for improvement still. I think there is only five teams who have

:20:38. > :20:43.lost less games. We're not doing a great deal, just converting into

:20:44. > :20:46.wins at the moment. If we had won more games than we had drawn, we

:20:47. > :20:52.would be in the play`off spots. We have a good group here, who are

:20:53. > :20:56.starting to realise what it takes to play well, the team, and win games.

:20:57. > :21:00.Cheltenham are away to Fleetwood tomorrow. Here are all the fixtures.

:21:01. > :21:05.Yeovil, unbeaten in their last four games, face another former Premier

:21:06. > :21:08.League club in Blackburn Rovers Swindon could recall the Nile Ranger

:21:09. > :21:15.for their home game against Coventry. Full previews, including

:21:16. > :21:19.team news, on the BBC Sport website. One more thing ` tomorrow could be a

:21:20. > :21:24.very memorable day for Lewis Carey of restored city? He's one

:21:25. > :21:27.appearance short of equalling the appearance record of club legend

:21:28. > :21:31.John Atyeo, who was also an England international, and has a stand named

:21:32. > :21:39.after him at Ashton Gate. Louis made his Bristol City debut 18 years ago.

:21:40. > :21:44.We have a photograph of him which he may not thank us for showing again!

:21:45. > :21:47.This is one of his career highlights, scoring in the

:21:48. > :21:50.Championship playoff semifinal in 2008. He'll be 37 next month, and

:21:51. > :21:55.has only featured twice this season, but if he does get on the field he

:21:56. > :22:04.will draw level with John Atyeo s record. In the future, I will look

:22:05. > :22:09.back on it with enormous pride and think what a great achievement it

:22:10. > :22:13.is. We all know what the great man himself did for the football club,

:22:14. > :22:19.not just appearances, but goals and England appearances. He put Bristol

:22:20. > :22:26.on the map. Hopefully, I can be the same. Lets hope it happens for him.

:22:27. > :22:30.He is a bit of a laugh. Yes, he is the sort of character that you need

:22:31. > :22:35.in the dressing room. That is why he is so popular, not just because of

:22:36. > :22:38.his ability. He is a bit of a character. When his good friend

:22:39. > :22:43.Scott Murray retired a couple of years ago and became a kit man,

:22:44. > :22:51.Lewis went and got a shirt that was about three sizes too small for him,

:22:52. > :22:57.and then came in and said, Scott, you have shrunk my shirt! Football

:22:58. > :23:03.needs those characters. And he is still only 37! I think we should

:23:04. > :23:07.name this desk after you, you've been here for so long! Thank you.

:23:08. > :23:11.Happy Christmas. If you were looking to the skies

:23:12. > :23:16.above the Forest of Dean recently, you might have thought Santa was on

:23:17. > :23:20.a trial run for Christmas Eve. One, two, three, go! In fact, two science

:23:21. > :23:23.enthusiasts ` Mark Ireland and Cassie Phelps ` had attached a tiny

:23:24. > :23:27.replica, complete with reindeer and gifts, to a high altitude weather

:23:28. > :23:30.balloon. The on`board camera and GPS tracker captured the journey as the

:23:31. > :23:37.sleigh flew to 100,000 feet above the Earth! But Santa would have had

:23:38. > :23:49.a rough landing, after the balloon burst. Bang! You win some, you lose

:23:50. > :23:55.some. Shall we take a look at the weather?

:23:56. > :24:04.It is going to be rather a turbulent story as we run into the Christmas

:24:05. > :24:06.season. For the weekend, it will be a question of clearing some rain

:24:07. > :24:14.away towards the south`east tomorrow morning. That weather will establish

:24:15. > :24:21.overnight. Tomorrow morning we have some more heavy rain, turning

:24:22. > :24:26.showery through the evening. Sunday will be a chilly and blustery day.

:24:27. > :24:31.All eyes on Monday, as we look down the barrel of what will be a

:24:32. > :24:36.decidedly stormy and wet period across all of the British Isles

:24:37. > :24:42.Let's look at some rain moving in into the west, which will be quite

:24:43. > :24:49.heavy. A dry, bright window tomorrow afternoon for a while, before more

:24:50. > :24:53.showers approach. Rain this evening and tonight, and we have a Met

:24:54. > :24:58.Office yellow warning out for this, particularly to the south of the M4,

:24:59. > :25:04.including Bristol, Bath, and north`east Somerset. Substantial

:25:05. > :25:08.amounts of rain tonight and into tomorrow morning, so there could

:25:09. > :25:13.well be some localised flooding This is the chart for Monday as we

:25:14. > :25:18.won through to the afternoon. This deep area of low pressure, these

:25:19. > :25:24.isobars packed together, that is a recipe for an awful lot of rain and

:25:25. > :25:29.some strong winds. Up to 60 miles an hour gusts. With that in mind, we

:25:30. > :25:34.have another Met office early warning out, because the impact of

:25:35. > :25:40.this, even the time is it, and some of the conditions lasting through to

:25:41. > :25:44.Christmas Eve, will be disruptive. So far as the here and now is

:25:45. > :25:50.concerned, some rain will arrive later this evening from the

:25:51. > :25:53.north`west. It will be a wet and windy spell overnight, and the

:25:54. > :25:58.heaviest of that game will be further to the South East, where it

:25:59. > :26:01.will still linger into the early hours of daylight tomorrow morning.

:26:02. > :26:07.Temperatures tonight around eight Celsius. As the day wears on, the

:26:08. > :26:14.heavy rain rolls away, the brighter spells return, and eventually, we

:26:15. > :26:19.will have some more heavy rain coming back in. I will see you on

:26:20. > :26:24.Boxing Day, but I will keep you up to date on Twitter. Happy Christmas

:26:25. > :26:33.to you! Thank you. I would like to wish you all a happy

:26:34. > :26:36.Christmas. Now time to open our advent

:26:37. > :26:40.calendar. And this snowy picture of Glastonbury Tor was taken by Steve

:26:41. > :26:44.Lambert. That's about it from us in the

:26:45. > :26:47.studio. But we're going back to the Royal Mail sorting office in Filton.

:26:48. > :26:51.Amidst all the letters, the staff choir are going to sing us out. You

:26:52. > :26:54.may remember they were finalists in the BBC's The Choir: Sing While You

:26:55. > :27:03.Work programme with Gareth Malone, so we should be in for a treat. Good

:27:04. > :27:15.night. # Ding`dong merrily on high.

:27:16. > :27:29.# Hosanna in ex`Chelsea 's. # Gloria!

:27:30. > :27:39.# Let Steeple bells be swung. # Gloria!

:27:40. > :27:54.# Gloria! #.
