:00:00. > :00:00.struggled with an Australian barrage all tour. Let's hope this guy has a

:00:00. > :00:26.lot Rail passengers were left stranded

:00:27. > :00:28.on a train in Somerset overnight as torrential rain caused serious

:00:29. > :00:32.problems across the region. The train hit a fallen tree on the track

:00:33. > :00:40.then came to a halt in Taunton. Hello, good evening. Our

:00:41. > :00:49.correspondent reports. It's left Paddington at 8:30pm on the way to

:00:50. > :00:53.Plymouth but it got no further than Taunton. This damage was caused when

:00:54. > :00:57.it hit a fallen tree on the track. At that the fact that the track

:00:58. > :01:01.further west was flooded and this train got no further. We were here

:01:02. > :01:07.for six hours and we do not know how we getting home. The nightmare

:01:08. > :01:11.Christmas! Many of the 200 passengers were stranded on the

:01:12. > :01:14.strain overnight. First Great Western did organise coaches and

:01:15. > :01:18.taxis to get the passengers to their final destinations that was a task

:01:19. > :01:25.made harder because of flooding on roads. Some of the rail replacement

:01:26. > :01:29.transport that we would normally put in place in Devon and Cornwall were

:01:30. > :01:35.not prepared to go out in the weather so the roads were in almost

:01:36. > :01:42.as worse State as the railways. Devon and Somerset Fire Service

:01:43. > :01:49.answered 250 emergency calls overnight, rescuing 26 people stuck

:01:50. > :01:54.in their cars in flood water. Some drivers plainly wished they had not

:01:55. > :01:58.tried going through floodwaters This hotel had its Christmas

:01:59. > :02:08.decorations disrupted by flooding, the worst in a decade. Wade is only

:02:09. > :02:15.on this road, and unless you are prepared to swim. `` waders. The bad

:02:16. > :02:24.weather has caused flooding across the West. The centre of Bradford on

:02:25. > :02:27.Avon has just been closed off as river levels keep rising ` from

:02:28. > :02:30.where Steve Knibbs reports. At the biggest road junction here,

:02:31. > :02:36.improvised traffic control. The water has been rising since 9am and

:02:37. > :02:42.everyone has helped out. Nobody else was doing anything. Gentle, gentle!

:02:43. > :02:49.They are making a wave if they go too quick. On what should have been

:02:50. > :02:57.one of the busiest days for local businesses, many had no choice but

:02:58. > :03:01.to shut up early. We got what we could but it was a case of getting

:03:02. > :03:06.what we could and leaving the shop. We will come back when it is all

:03:07. > :03:13.gone. While some tried to get where they were going, someone were

:03:14. > :03:17.starting the clean`up. Every time it floods, a group of neighbours are

:03:18. > :03:22.out sorting it out and trying to get the water in the field. There is so

:03:23. > :03:29.much from the fields that it was ruining the road. Fire crews cannot

:03:30. > :03:33.get the water out because there is nowhere to go. Until it receives,

:03:34. > :03:42.the town has been cut into four Christmas. And in the last hour

:03:43. > :03:45.we've been told that the Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service has stopped

:03:46. > :03:49.ferrying people across the bridge in Bradford on Avon and closed it

:03:50. > :03:50.completely due to concerns about the safety of the bridge itself. Let's

:03:51. > :03:51.get the weather now and completely due to concerns about the

:03:52. > :03:54.safety of the bridge Jenna is here with a forecast. Thank you. After

:03:55. > :04:00.the chaos of yesterday, it is an improving story from Christmas Day

:04:01. > :04:06.and Boxing Day. The worst is over until Friday. Christmas Day itself,

:04:07. > :04:10.some decent spells of sunshine and some wintry showers as well as a

:04:11. > :04:16.chilly breeze. On Christmas Eve some showers still around, wintry

:04:17. > :04:20.mix on higher ground. A blustery breeze has helped with the

:04:21. > :04:27.evaporation process, but it is a cold day and a cold night to come. A

:04:28. > :04:34.chilly night to come. Showers are around. A wind chill still with

:04:35. > :04:40.highs of six or eight Celsius. We have further weather warnings after

:04:41. > :04:43.a sunny Boxing Day. The weather will change on Friday with rain and a

:04:44. > :04:51.strengthening win. That wind will get to 60 mph and further rain could

:04:52. > :04:56.see rail and travel disruption once again as well as trees down. Thank

:04:57. > :05:01.you. That is it from us and we are back on Boxing Day. From all of us

:05:02. > :05:02.here, enjoy the rest of your Christmas Eve and have a very Merry

:05:03. > :05:03.Christmas. Good night. it from us - we are back on Boxing

:05:04. > :05:06.Day at One o'clock. Merry Christmas.
