:00:00. > 3:59:59throughout the evening on the BBC News Channel. We are back with the

:00:00. > :00:18.late Good evening. Supporters of fox

:00:19. > :00:22.hunting in Gloucestershire say they have not given up hope of the ban

:00:23. > :00:25.being lifted. One of the Prime Minister's election pledges was a

:00:26. > :00:30.free vote on hunting laws. But anti`hunt protesters see public

:00:31. > :00:33.support for the ban is rising. `` say public support. Scott Ellis

:00:34. > :00:36.reports. Hundreds turned out for the Duke of

:00:37. > :00:40.Beaufort's hunt in Gloucestershire today. Since 2005, it's been illegal

:00:41. > :00:44.to kill foxes with packs of dogs. Many here want that ban lifted and

:00:45. > :00:48.hunts, once again, to cull. It's kind of part of this country's

:00:49. > :00:52.history. And we are getting rid of so many traditions these days. I

:00:53. > :00:56.don't think it's any more cruel than fishing. So I think, if you want to

:00:57. > :01:00.ban one, you should ban the other. I think it's almost a way of weeding

:01:01. > :01:04.out of the weaker or older foxes as well. The average fox is pretty fit

:01:05. > :01:08.and wily. And if it's a young, fit fox, it would probably get away

:01:09. > :01:11.anyway. But a recent poll suggests 80% of the public remain in favour

:01:12. > :01:14.of the ban. Anti`hunt protesters want the current laws tightened and

:01:15. > :01:18.enforced. The real problem is that they are willing to break the law

:01:19. > :01:21.all the time. And don't accept that it is banned by popular consent but

:01:22. > :01:30.also because of the appalling nature of what they do. That allegation is

:01:31. > :01:34.denied by this hunt. They say they lay a scented trail to exercise

:01:35. > :01:39.their hounds. In October, David Cameron expressed sympathy for those

:01:40. > :01:42.that want the laws loosened. But it seems unlikely to be high on his

:01:43. > :01:48.political agenda in the run`up to 2015's general election.

:01:49. > :01:54.The West is preparing itself for another night of bad weather, just

:01:55. > :01:57.48 hours after the last storms. Bradford`on`Avon was one of the

:01:58. > :02:01.worst affected areas, with homes and shops flooded. Council workers have

:02:02. > :02:06.spent the day clearing debris from the bridge in the town, which has

:02:07. > :02:09.now reopened. The Romanian government has

:02:10. > :02:12.appointed its own diplomat to represent the 1000 Romanians who

:02:13. > :02:17.live in Bristol. Razan Constantinescu will take up the

:02:18. > :02:21.voluntary post in the New Year. It coincides with the lifting of

:02:22. > :02:25.restrictions on Romanian workers. I doubt there will be the sort of

:02:26. > :02:35.invasion that some of the press is referring to. I doubt that it will

:02:36. > :02:39.be huge numbers. Simply because most of the Romanians who want to come

:02:40. > :02:44.over to Britain, to set up in business or to explore working

:02:45. > :02:48.opportunities, have already done so. And he says he wants to use his time

:02:49. > :02:51.in office to twin Bristol with a city in Romania and to set up a

:02:52. > :02:59.direct flight from Bristol Airport. Now football. Not much Christmas

:03:00. > :03:03.cheer for Yeovil Town. They lost 3`0 at Bournemouth. A result that leaves

:03:04. > :03:06.them three points from safety in the Championship.

:03:07. > :03:10.In League One, Swindon lost 3`2 at Bedford, despite twice being in

:03:11. > :03:13.front with goals from Ryan Mason and Nicky Ajose.

:03:14. > :03:16.Steve Cotterill has won his first league game in charge of Bristol

:03:17. > :03:20.City. Sam Baldock's early penalty was enough to give them a 1`0 win

:03:21. > :03:23.over Walsall and take them off the bottom of the table.

:03:24. > :03:29.The same scoreline at Cheltenham. They beat Exeter thanks to an early

:03:30. > :03:32.strike from Jamie Cureton. And Bristol Rovers drew 1`1 at

:03:33. > :03:36.Torquay. Matt Harrold scored the equaliser for Rovers.

:03:37. > :03:40.There has been more success for Somerset racehorse trainer Paul

:03:41. > :03:44.Nicholls. Silvaniaco Conti won the King George VI Chase at Kempton

:03:45. > :03:48.That gave Nicholls his eighth win in the prestigious race.

:03:49. > :03:52.We are all bracing ourselves for the possibility of more bad weather

:03:53. > :04:00.Here is Ian with the forecast. Good evening. Another bout of wet

:04:01. > :04:05.and windy weather during the course of tonight. Another Met Office

:04:06. > :04:11.weather warning in force for real form `` for instance. Potentially

:04:12. > :04:16.ten ` 20 millimetres, and possibly 30 millimetres. It will continue in

:04:17. > :04:25.showers tomorrow. And through tonight, some heavy rain for many,

:04:26. > :04:32.continuing for a while, but clearing into the early hours. A windy spell

:04:33. > :04:36.developing as well. Just of up to 50 mph inland, possibly 60 mph further

:04:37. > :04:43.west. Temperatures up to six Celsius. Tomorrow, the early rain

:04:44. > :04:49.clearers, then some blustery showers, some heavy rain in places,

:04:50. > :04:52.adding some more water locally, hence the weather warning continuing

:04:53. > :04:56.tomorrow. Temperatures about nine or 10 Celsius.

:04:57. > :04:58.I am back just after ten o'clock with another update. Hope to see you

:04:59. > :05:10.then. Good night. Hello there, most of us have had a

:05:11. > :05:14.quiet Boxing Day, mostly dry, chilly, lingering mist, light winds.

:05:15. > :05:18.That is all about to change. The next storm arriving on our doorstep

:05:19. > :05:24.right now, over night tonight will see wet and windy weather. The winds

:05:25. > :05:28.peak tomorrow lunchtime. It has started raining in Cornwall, the

:05:29. > :05:33.rain will sweep eastwards. For all of us overnight wet and windy

:05:34. > :05:41.weather. Snow to the Pennines. For most of us wet and very windy.

:05:42. > :05:46.40-50mph gusts inland, 60-70mph around exposed coasts. Any extra

:05:47. > :05:51.rain will be unwelcome particularly for those most prone areas across

:05:52. > :05:57.parts of southern England and up into East Anglia. 10mm inland, 0mm

:05:58. > :06:00.around the coast. The rain could well linger for a time across the

:06:01. > :06:03.south-east. It will clear. Brightness, but a whole lot of

:06:04. > :06:08.showers wrapped around the centre of the low pressure across the west of

:06:09. > :06:09.Scotland. It will not feel all that cam foshl out there. Particularly
