:00:13. > :00:19.Good evening from Points West. The Environment Secretary will visit

:00:20. > :00:23.Somerset tomorrow to see the impact of the floods. His visit comes as

:00:24. > :00:26.yet more heavy rain is forecast with a Met Office amber warning in

:00:27. > :00:29.place. Today the Fire Service has taken delivery of two off`road

:00:30. > :00:37.engines to help crews access homes still cut off by water. Madeleine

:00:38. > :00:41.Ware reports. This fire engine is used to being

:00:42. > :00:44.off`road. But not in floodwater Previously used to tackle hill

:00:45. > :00:49.fires, it has been brought out of retirement to help here on the

:00:50. > :00:58.Somerset Levels. Today allowing fire crews to check homes surrounded by

:00:59. > :01:01.floodwater. We have been flooded for three weeks. The roads are cut off

:01:02. > :01:07.and the septic tanks are overflowing. Life is just more

:01:08. > :01:10.difficult, more time`consuming. It's sights like this that the

:01:11. > :01:13.Environment Secretary Owen Paterson will see on his visit tomorrow.

:01:14. > :01:18.He'll be shown the vast operation to pump water off the Levels. He'll

:01:19. > :01:27.also hear stories of heartbreak and be told it must never be allowed to

:01:28. > :01:34.happen again. It flooded our house and they have taken my life again.

:01:35. > :01:42.It should not have happened. They told us last year, it was won in

:01:43. > :01:46.100. And we are here again. What we are saying to the government is that

:01:47. > :01:53.we now need your help to alleviate problem which is drenched rivers. ``

:01:54. > :01:57.drainage in rivers. Allow the people in Somerset to do their jobs. If you

:01:58. > :02:00.give us the money, we can do that. With more heavy rain forecast until

:02:01. > :02:15.Tuesday, the severe flooding the Environment Secretary will see

:02:16. > :02:18.tomorrow could get worse. There has been sharp criticism of

:02:19. > :02:21.one of the South West's MEPs over his performance in the European

:02:22. > :02:25.Parliament. Trevor Colman has one of the lowest voting records, and

:02:26. > :02:28.admits one of the reasons he goes is to ensure he gets his allowances.

:02:29. > :02:29.Here's our political editor, Paul Barltrop.

:02:30. > :02:33.He won election to the European Parliament in 2009, but Trevor

:02:34. > :02:37.Colman hasn't seen much of it. In five years he has taken part in just

:02:38. > :02:40.over half of the votes, and made speeches or asked questions just 19

:02:41. > :02:48.times. The average for the South West's other MEPs is more than 00.

:02:49. > :02:53.He is unapologetic. Why make a speech when you know that it is

:02:54. > :02:58.totally ineffective? That you are talking to a gallery of about six

:02:59. > :03:02.people? Why did you get elected if you are not going to do anything? It

:03:03. > :03:06.is not that I'm not doing anything, I am trying to get us out of this

:03:07. > :03:10.mess. That can only be achieved over here. Being an MEP brings a ?78 000

:03:11. > :03:17.salary. To get other allowances you have to clock in at the Parliament.

:03:18. > :03:22.You go to these plenary sessions, you get barely anything out of them,

:03:23. > :03:26.but is one of the major reasons to go on getting the allowances? I

:03:27. > :03:34.would not say it is one of the main motivations. It is a factor. Yes, of

:03:35. > :03:37.course it is. The result ` ?200 000 of EU money funds an anti`EU

:03:38. > :03:40.website. Political opponents and even party colleagues complain about

:03:41. > :03:45.Trevor Colman. He is standing down in May. UKIP will hope his successor

:03:46. > :03:48.causes less trouble. To sport ` Bristol Rugby's game

:03:49. > :03:50.against Plymouth Albion has been postponed due to a waterlogged

:03:51. > :03:55.pitch. In football, it was a mixed bag of

:03:56. > :03:58.results for our local sides. Bristol City are deep in the

:03:59. > :04:01.relegation zone after losing to promotion`chasing Wolves. After

:04:02. > :04:04.going behind early on, Sam Baldock pulled one back from the penalty

:04:05. > :04:08.spot but it wasn't enough to stop a 3`1 defeat.

:04:09. > :04:12.Meanwhile, Swindon continued to make progress in the race for play`off

:04:13. > :04:15.places, beating Shrewsbury Town 3`1. Debutant Michael Smith scored two of

:04:16. > :04:19.the three goals, including this effort.

:04:20. > :04:23.In League 2, Bristol Rovers picked up all three points against Newport

:04:24. > :04:27.County in the Severnside derby. A debut goal from Kaid Mohammed set

:04:28. > :04:32.them on their way just before half time, before two second`half goals

:04:33. > :04:36.wrapped up a 3`1 win. Cheltenham's trip to Plymouth ended

:04:37. > :04:39.in a 1`1 draw, though they'll have been disappointed not to pick up a

:04:40. > :04:43.win. Byron Harrison put them ahead shortly after half time, but they

:04:44. > :04:47.were pegged back with just six minutes to go.

:04:48. > :04:50.And finally to the FA Cup ` Yeovil had their dream of a giant`killing

:04:51. > :04:53.crushed by Premier League side Southampton. Despite a 2`0 defeat,

:04:54. > :04:57.it was a somewhat harsh score line on Gary Johnson's side, who were

:04:58. > :05:06.looking to reach the fifth round for the first time since 1949.

:05:07. > :05:13.No sign of a letup from the weather. Here is the forecast.

:05:14. > :05:22.Some colder weather to watch out for tonight. We have wintry showers

:05:23. > :05:26.Those showers through this evening and overnight. A mix of rain and

:05:27. > :05:31.sleet but also snow for the hills. We could see some at lower levels at

:05:32. > :05:39.times. Temperatures will generally drop away. Still a few wintry

:05:40. > :05:43.showers in the morning, into the afternoon. We are looking at mainly

:05:44. > :05:49.rain showers but heavy showers possible throughout the day. A few

:05:50. > :05:59.more showers on Tuesday. Then it becomes a drier and colder picture.

:06:00. > :06:02.That is it. We are back at 10:2 pm. Have a lovely evening.

:06:03. > :06:07.Until then, plenty more news on our website. Bye-bye.

:06:08. > :06:12.Good evening. will keep going through the nights

:06:13. > :06:13.tonight and as the air turns
