:00:11. > :00:16.Good evening. The Environment Agency says it's working to protect over a

:00:17. > :00:19.thousand properties on the outskirts of Bridgwater from flooding. It is

:00:20. > :00:25.building a temporary earth bank at Huntmoor. But it's taken out some of

:00:26. > :00:28.its pumps in the village of Moorland, saying otherwise, they

:00:29. > :00:31.would be damaged or destroyed by the water. In a moment Scott Ellis

:00:32. > :00:39.reports from there, but first here's Lizzie Way on how Sunday developed

:00:40. > :00:44.on the Somerset Levels. Another day and another visitor, Nigel Farage

:00:45. > :00:48.came to survey the scene. But just yards away many locals were too busy

:00:49. > :00:54.to meet him. They were working to shore up what river bank is left.

:00:55. > :00:59.Children are being dropped off by buses on the main road and having to

:01:00. > :01:05.walk to get home along here and in the dark as well, they cannot see

:01:06. > :01:09.where they are going. We need to do something to make it safer. And here

:01:10. > :01:12.is the help from Holland. Waiting to be deployed, 17 lorries with pumps

:01:13. > :01:15.and pipes to take the water from Kings Sedgmoor Drain to Parrett at

:01:16. > :01:20.high tide. Meanwhile farmers were back again helping farmers. This

:01:21. > :01:23.time it was the North Somerset Young Farmers who came in a convoy to

:01:24. > :01:27.donate bales of straw. Despite facing tough times themselves they

:01:28. > :01:38.wanted to give to those who were finding life even harder. It was one

:01:39. > :01:42.thing we can do, we are short on straw and silage ourselves, but if a

:01:43. > :01:48.lot of farms donate a couple of bales, you soon have at one load.

:01:49. > :01:51.These dogs were rescued this afternoon from a house in Moorland.

:01:52. > :01:59.They weren't the only ones pleased to be on dry land. There are

:02:00. > :02:03.occassions when you're glad to see your car being towed away. Not least

:02:04. > :02:06.in Moorland. It'll be drier somewhere else. The main road is

:02:07. > :02:13.waist deep, some abandoned homes are under four feet of water. I remember

:02:14. > :02:18.someone trying to pump out the house, the pump is submerged and it

:02:19. > :02:22.is almost a ghost town. The church has started to flood as well on the

:02:23. > :02:26.high ground. Jane Scott returned today to grab some more belongings.

:02:27. > :02:32.Her home's ankle deep in water. It is very smelly. Very smelly indeed.

:02:33. > :02:41.These are the die`hards. A dozen or so who've stayed built a dam and can

:02:42. > :02:46.only hope. And it means we can be back here rather than move out, it

:02:47. > :02:54.is worth it. It is heartbreaking. We are pulling together and we will do

:02:55. > :02:57.what we can do. The flooding is still causing problems for rail

:02:58. > :03:00.services across Somerset. The line between Bridgwater and Castle Cary

:03:01. > :03:09.is still under water and other lines at Bridgwater and Athelney are also

:03:10. > :03:12.blocked by flooding. At Crewkerne, services were suspended after a

:03:13. > :03:15.landslip but are now running at reduced speed, allowing a limited

:03:16. > :03:21.service into Exeter from Waterloo. All passengers are advised to check

:03:22. > :03:25.before travelling. Petition calling for the new Bishop of Bath and Wells

:03:26. > :03:29.to live in the palace rather than move to a house outside will be

:03:30. > :03:35.raised at a Church of England meeting tomorrow. The local MP will

:03:36. > :03:38.present the petition which has nearly 1500 signatures. It is: Per

:03:39. > :03:41.consultation before a final decision is made over the move.

:03:42. > :03:44.Congratulations are pouring in for the Bristol snowboarder Jenny Jones

:03:45. > :03:48.who will be bringing home a bronze medal after success in Sochi. And it

:03:49. > :03:57.all started on a dry ski slope in North Somerset. Here's Ali Durden. A

:03:58. > :04:02.surprise reunion for Jenny Jones with her parents. She did not know

:04:03. > :04:07.they had flown out to the Sochi to which `` to watch Olympic final She

:04:08. > :04:11.had been in the gold medal position after her run but had to watch the

:04:12. > :04:16.rest of the field have their ago. It was a nerve wracking wait and for

:04:17. > :04:22.mum and dad as well. I cannot believe it. I was waiting, I knew I

:04:23. > :04:30.would drop down and they did not know how far. Oh my god! I am so

:04:31. > :04:36.happy. We have always been proud of her, but blimey! This is the icing

:04:37. > :04:41.on the cake. There was excitement at the dry slope in Somerset where

:04:42. > :04:47.Jenny had her first lesson 16 years ago. I am chuffed she got a bronze

:04:48. > :04:53.medal. She has gone on to win an Olympic medal. We are proud. It is a

:04:54. > :04:58.great achievement, it is so different to snow. Fair play to her.

:04:59. > :05:06.Jenny Jones prolonged her career in order to take part in this year s

:05:07. > :05:09.Olympics and up 33 years Now, the weather with Holly Green. Of age,

:05:10. > :05:17.she has written her board into the history books.

:05:18. > :05:23.Some showers with us this evening and they could be wintry across

:05:24. > :05:29.higher ground and with clearer skies and lighter winds in the early

:05:30. > :05:33.hours, the risk of ice on untreated services. A colder start for

:05:34. > :05:37.tomorrow with frost and ice to watch out for, some showers through the

:05:38. > :05:42.morning as well, also some sunshine and it should be dry for many of us

:05:43. > :05:47.through the afternoon, that of a respite tomorrow, temperatures up to

:05:48. > :05:52.nine degrees. We have early warnings for heavy rain for the week ahead,

:05:53. > :05:57.arriving from the West through Tuesday morning, leading to wintry

:05:58. > :06:01.showers on Wednesday and further wet on Thursday. And do remember, you

:06:02. > :06:03.can watch Points West bulletins and today's edition of
